Samsung Has Been Leading the Premium TV Market in North America

Samsung Electronics has reaffirmed the formula that “Premium TV = Samsung TV,” spearheading the premium TV market in North America from Jan to Jun this year. According to the market research organization NPD, Samsung Electronics cemented the market leadership, securing the market share of 29.4% for plasma TV, 26.9% for LCD, 54.2% for PDP, 36.1% for Smart TV, 45.7% for 3D TV based on the sales in North American TV market in the first half of the this year. Samsung Electronics came out as a distant winner in the plasma TV category with the market share, almost twice the amount of the runner-up, or the combination of third to seventh place TV manufacturer.
