Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. recently announced new education solutions for its Android-based Samsung Interactive Display lineup, making shared classroom

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. recently announced new education solutions for its Android-based Samsung Interactive Display lineup, making shared classroom displays easier to personalize and manage. Announced and exhibited at ISTELive 26, a leading education technology conference that is being hosted by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) from June 28-July 1 in Orlando, Florida, the new solutions reflect Samsung’s focus on practical classroom tools for teachers and school IT teams.

“Digital classrooms depend on the right balance of advanced hardware, intelligent software and intuitive user experiences,” said Hyoung Jae Kim, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “By bringing together AI and seamless connectivity, Samsung’s interactive display solutions are designed to support a more flexible, connected learning environment in which teachers and students can thrive.”

Samsung AMS: Personalizing the Shared Display Experience

In schools where multiple teachers use the same classroom display throughout the day, access and privacy can become daily challenges. Samsung Account Management Solution (AMS), which comes pre-installed on compatible Android-based Samsung Interactive Display lineup models, allows each teacher to access their own account using a QR code or an NFC-enabled ID card.[1] This streamlined sign-in experience helps schools support shared devices without relying on local profiles tied to a single display.

With Home Personalization, Samsung AMS supports cloud-connected profiles, allowing teachers to access their preferred layout, wallpaper, bookmarks, app shortcuts, files and settings when they sign in to compatible displays in different classrooms. This transforms any shared display into a personalized teaching workspace, giving teachers a consistent experience from room to room.

For added security, teachers can instantly activate a screen lock when they need to leave the classroom for brief amounts of time.

As schools add more connected displays, IT teams need a simpler way to manage users, devices and classroom permissions. Samsung Education Portal provides a central location for IT managers to register teachers and enroll devices. In terms of user management, NFC binding links NFC cards to teacher accounts so staff can sign in to shared displays with their assigned cards. IT teams can also enable Samsung AMS on selected displays and manage account access when needed, allowing classrooms to stay ready for the next teacher.

Samsung Education Portal also includes Tags, a feature that lets IT teams group displays by school, building or classroom. The same tags can support emergency alerts, enabling schools to push preconfigured alerts to selected Samsung Interactive Displays through major notification platforms like InformaCast and Raptor.[2]

Samsung AI Assistant: Supporting More Efficient Teaching and More Active Learning

Samsung AI Assistant provides AI tools for common classroom tasks directly on compatible Android-based Samsung Interactive Displays. The app supports content discovery, transcription, summaries and quizzes, helping teachers encourage student focus, participation and comprehension throughout lessons.

With Circle to Search[3], teachers can circle on-screen text or images to find related information, visuals, videos and web links without leaving the display. Results can also be used in other classroom apps, such as Samsung Whiteboard, so teachers can bring supporting materials into the lesson more easily. Live Transcript converts spoken instruction into real-time text on the screen, making lessons easier to follow for students with hearing impairments, as well as multilingual learners.[4]

Samsung AI Assistant also includes AI Summary and AI Quiz. Using recorded lesson content, AI Quiz generates questions that allow teachers to assess student comprehension in real time. This keeps students engaged through the end of the lesson, while giving teachers immediate visibility into class performance, such as the overall correct answer rate. With Single Sign-On for Samsung AI Assistant through Samsung AMS, teachers can return to previous lesson materials, including AI-generated summaries, without signing in again.

Samsung Brings More Choice to Classroom Display Technology

Samsung AI Assistant is currently available following its April release, while Samsung AMS will be available beginning in July alongside related Samsung Education Portal updates.[5]

Samsung’s Android-based Interactive Display portfolio gives schools a range of options for classrooms, media rooms and shared learning spaces, with three new models: WAF-S, WAFX-PS and WAHX-M.[6] These models, along with the existing WAF and WAFX-P series, support Samsung AI Assistant and Samsung AMS. The lineup is also EDLA-certified,[7] providing seamless access to services like Google Classroom and Google Drive, which further enrich the educational experience.

WAF-S and WAFX-PS build on previous models (WAF, WAFX-P) with an Android OS upgrade to Android 16. The new OS includes improvements in usability, accessibility, security and privacy. The upgrade gives schools a more advanced display experience while preserving the familiarity of the core product.

WAHX-M introduces a 98-inch option to Samsung’s Interactive Display portfolio for the first time, supporting larger spaces such as lecture halls and conference rooms. Available in 65-, 75-, 86- and 98-inch sizes, WAHX-M supports on-device AI features[8] such as voice command, AI calculator and text-to-speech, along with Samsung AMS and the Samsung AI Assistant app.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. recently announced the launch of its new Bespoke AI Washer Dryer,[1] a two-in-one laundry appliance that delivers Class A energy[2] efficiency through AI Ecobubble technology and intelligent fabric care. Featuring Air Wash and AI Wash cycles — along with SmartThings connectivity — the new appliance provides users with a more convenient and personalized laundry experience.

“Consumers increasingly expect laundry appliances to do more than just clean well — they want technology that helps reduce energy consumption without adding complexity to daily life,” said Hyoung Min Park, VP and Head of the Customer Experience Team for the Digital Appliances (DA) Business, Samsung Electronics. “With the new Bespoke AI Washer Dryer, Samsung is taking the next step in providing users with appliances that redefine home living.”

Enhanced Energy Efficiency

The new Bespoke AI Washer Dryer meets top-tier energy efficiency ratings in applicable labeling systems in markets where it is available, with select models in European markets exceeding Class A minimum energy efficiency requirements by up to 35 percent.[3] The new washer-dryer leverages a combination of advanced technologies, including AI Ecobubble,[4] a circulation pump and optimized algorithms. Together, these innovations help reduce energy consumption without compromising cleaning performance.

In particular, AI Ecobubble transforms detergent into bubbles that more quickly penetrate fabrics. The technology improves soil removal by up to 20 percent[5] while enabling effective washing at lower temperatures.

Additionally, through AI Energy Mode[6] in SmartThings Energy,[7] users can monitor energy consumption and estimated electricity costs. When compatible cycles are selected, the feature can reduce energy use by up to 70 percent[8] by washing at lower temperatures and adjusting cycle time as needed.

Smarter Fabric Care for Every Load

The new Bespoke AI Washer Dryer provides specific cycles that help users to care for their laundry in smarter ways.

First, the Air Wash[9] cycle refreshes garments and bedding without water or detergent. Once the cycle is selected, it blows super-hot air onto the laundry to freshen fabrics. Through this function, Air Wash offers a convenient way to care for items that do not require a full wash cycle, helping maintain fabric quality over time.

Second, the AI Wash cycle works to make fabric care easier.[10] AI Wash automatically senses the weight, softness and soil level of each load, then intelligently dispenses the appropriate amount of water and detergent. It continuously adjusts soak, rinse and spin times to optimize washing performance for thorough yet gentle results. At the same time, the Flex Auto Dispense System automatically dispenses the appropriate amount of detergent and softener for every wash.[11]

Connected Experiences Through SmartThings

Available on select models,[12] AI Control helps simplify laundry management through a more personalized experience. By learning user habits, including frequently used cycles and settings, the system can suggest cycles based on machine learning as well as periodic, weather and seasonal needs.[13] Through the SmartThings app, users can also access cycle recommendations, laundry planning features and troubleshooting support.

SmartThings supports Quick Remote[14] on compatible Galaxy smartphones, as well.[15] When users approach the appliance,[16] a Quick Remote interface can automatically appear on the phone,[17] providing convenient access to key controls such as power and start/stop[18] functions. This enables users to manage laundry more conveniently without needing to locate a separate control interface or open the SmartThings app.

Availability

The Bespoke AI Washer Dryer is available in capacities ranging from 8 kg to 11 kg. Starting with select markets, the product will be rolled out globally in a phased manner across additional regions. Availability, specifications, and features may vary by region and market[19].

Across Southeast Asia and Oceania, consumers have been quick to embrace technology that makes everyday life simpler. From digital commerce and mobile payments to super apps and connected services, digital experiences are now integral to how people shop, communicate, work and manage daily life.

That same expectation is shaping how people approach artificial intelligence. As the world commemorates AI Appreciation Day this July, the shift is clear: AI is moving from experimentation into everyday use. In Southeast Asia and Oceania, people are beginning to expect AI to help them work, communicate, make decisions and move through daily life with greater ease.

The more embedded AI becomes in our lives, the more its value will be measured by how meaningfully it improves everyday experiences. The next phase of AI, which we will be unveiling at Unpacked on 22 July in London, will not be defined by technical capability alone, but by how naturally it fits into different lifestyles, understands individual needs and removes friction from daily routines.

From AI Tools to Connected Experiences

For years, technology evolved device by device. Each served a specific role: mobile phones for communication and productivity, wearables for health and activity insights, televisions for entertainment, and appliances for household routines.

Each device only supports one part of the user’s day. But when connected through AI, they can work together in ways that are more responsive to context and easier to act on.

SmartThings is central to making this possible. By bringing devices, services and partners into one connected ecosystem, it helps turn the intelligence offered by individual features into seamless experiences that are more natural and relevant in real-world scenarios.

Consider a young professional managing a fast-paced day, where even small decisions can add to the mental load. With AI Vision, our Bespoke AI Refrigerator Family Hub can help track fresh produce and packaged goods[1], alert users[2] when frequently used items are running low, and make grocery planning easier.

That same support extends to well-being. SmartThings integrates with Samsung Health to provide sleep environment insights through Galaxy devices like the Galaxy Ring, while Galaxy Watch features such as Running Coach[3] can analyze running performance data and customize training programs for users working towards their fitness goals. And as the user unwinds after a long day by watching their favorite shows on TV, Samsung Vision AI extends intelligence to the screen, helping the TV adapt to viewer preferences and make entertainment easier to discover, personalize and enjoy.

Together, these experiences show the broader promise of AI: making daily life easier not through one device acting alone, but through an ecosystem that understands context and can offer personalized responses to people’s needs.

Mobile as the Primary Gateway

Although AI now connects more devices across daily life, mobile remains the primary gateway. The mobile phone links people to the services, content, devices and relationships they rely on daily.

This is where agentic AI becomes especially important. As intelligence grows more contextual, mobile devices are evolving from a tool people use to search, message and browse, into an interface that helps them understand what matters, suggests the next step and completes everyday actions with less effort.

Galaxy AI is designed for this next phase of mobile AI. Instead of asking users to manage every task manually, it surfaces suggestions for what comes next. Mobile AI becomes most useful when its intelligence is built directly into the device experience itself.

Consumers in Southeast Asia and Oceania welcome the benefits and recognize the potential of AI but their trust needs to be earned. To deeply embed AI into daily life, consumers must be assured that their data stays safe and that they are in control. Galaxy AI is designed to protect personal information by keeping sensitive data close to the user, while giving users clear visibility and choice over how their data is used to power AI experiences. As AI expands across the connected ecosystem, Samsung has also extended Knox Matrix, its cross-device security platform, to provide a unified layer of protection across home appliances, mobile devices and TVs.

We are still in the early stages of this transformation. With AI becoming more widespread in daily life, new form factors will shape how people see, use, and act on information. Foldables are an important part of that future. A screen that flexes and unfolds gives AI greater flexibility to support multiple tasks, richer content and more contextual experiences at once.

At the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked, we will share more on how this vision is coming together.

The next chapter of AI will not be defined by how much more technology people must manage. It will be defined by how naturally intelligence fits into everyday life, helping people live, work, and connect more easily.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today unveiled new Flex Titanium technology for the next generation of Galaxy foldable devices. Built on seven generations of foldable innovation and engineering expertise, the redesigned display structure utilizes structural and material advancements to deliver a more refined viewing experience with enhanced durability and reduced crease visibility. Made possible thanks to Samsung’s accumulated display know-how, Flex Titanium technology integrates two titanium-based components — a titanium-alloy film and a titanium plate — working together to balance slimness, flexibility and strength within the foldable display structure.

“Samsung’s strength in the foldable category comes from connecting user needs with our technologies that deliver tangible benefits in everyday life,” said Sunghoon Moon, EVP and Senior Executive, Mobile R&D Office – H/W, Samsung Electronics. “For the next generation of Galaxy foldables, Samsung is building on years of expertise to bring display innovations into devices that enhance user experiences, anchored by exceptional viewing experiences.”

Building on Years of Foldable Experience

Samsung has played a leading role in advancing mobile display innovation and bringing it to consumers at scale through mobile devices. This legacy includes the widespread adoption of AMOLED displays in 2007 and the evolution of displays into flexible form factors.

Innovative technologies can only reach their full potential and provide meaningful user experiences through continuous refinement in real-world conditions, and the foldable category is no exception. Across seven generations of Galaxy foldables, Samsung has listened closely to consumer feedback. This has given the company a deep understanding of what users expect from the category: larger, more immersive viewing experience with less visible crease — without compromising durability or portability.

To meet these expectations, Samsung had to rethink how foldable displays are constructed by bringing together breakthroughs in technology, materials and mechanical engineering. The result is the latest milestone in foldable display innovation: Flex Titanium technology. By successfully integrating display innovation with device engineering, Samsung will continue to shape the direction of the mobile industry and deliver standout user experiences.

Flex Titanium: Next-Level Viewing

To create a display that provides an immersive viewing experience while maintaining its ability to withstand everyday use, Samsung took a new approach to structural design. This required a material strong enough to withstand external shock, flexible enough to endure repeated folding and thin enough to fit within a refined device structure. Balancing all three factors was essential to advancing foldable displays — and titanium offered the right mix.

Known for its resilience and strength, titanium has been used in some of the most demanding applications. While its strength makes titanium a dependable material, it also presents significant engineering challenges when applied to the thin and flexible structure of a foldable display due to its stiffness. Drawing on its expertise, Samsung has integrated titanium into two key components: a titanium-alloy film and a titanium plate.

The titanium-alloy film is a component that supports the display from within, sitting below the OLED panel. Below this sits a robust titanium plate, a flexible structure that supports the display module from beneath. It allows tighter bonding with the display module by eliminating air gaps between the module and the adhesive on the plate through advanced hole processing technology. This new structure provides more stable support underneath the display when unfolded while retaining the flexibility needed to accommodate repeated folding.

Furthermore, by integrating a high-resolution architecture and next-generation organic materials, the new display delivers ultra-vivid display resolution while reducing power consumption — delivering a dramatic boost in overall power efficiency.

“By introducing sophisticated micro-patterned holes to the folding section of the titanium plate, we have successfully secured flexibility with robust durability,” said Kyung-Jin Yoo, EVP and Head of Mobile Display Product Development Team, Samsung Display. “Combining high-resolution display architecture with new organic materials that maximizes power efficiency, we will further strengthen the competitiveness of next-generation Galaxy foldable devices.”

Together, these advancements enable a strong foldable display that maximizes content immersion on a seamless screen and reduces crease visibility — all while keeping it slim. By balancing strength, flexibility and structural stability, Samsung continues to set the bar for foldable displays.

The new Flex Titanium technology will debut with Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy foldable devices. Further details will be unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked.

Through the partnership, Samsung is bringing fans closer to the film through Samsung Art Store, a Samsung Micro RGB TV sweepstakes in collaboration with electronics retailer Best Buy and select U.S. and U.K. experiences in support of its global release.

“Samsung’s display business has long been shaped by the way people engage with film, sports, games and art,” said Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Through this partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios, we are bringing together the exciting, intergalactic visual world of ‘Supergirl’ with Samsung’s bold display experiences at home.”

Samsung Art Store, the leading digital art platform on Samsung Art TVs, is giving users a new way to experience DC-inspired art at home with a limited-time “Supergirl” collection, available now through March 8, 2027. Featuring 15 digital artworks from DC Comics, the collection brings the character’s comic legacy to life across Samsung’s expanded 2026 Art TV lineup.[1]

In the U.S., Samsung and Best Buy are launching “Supergirl” sweepstakes at more than 600 participating Best Buy stores nationwide from June 22 through July 19. Special “Supergirl” content will play on Samsung Micro RGB TV displays in each store, where the display’s precise color expression will reveal a hidden riddle. The answer to this riddle will unlock additional entries to the sweepstakes.

As part of the film’s global press tour, the Supergirl Rest Stop pop-up at Phonica Records in London on June 20 featured Samsung 2026 TV and home audio lineups throughout film-inspired spaces, including Supergirl’s bedroom, Kara’s Ship, the Intergalactic Bus Stop and Space Bar.

With this hospitality model, Samsung brings the award-winning design and functionality of The Frame to hotels and corporate environments. The display combines 4K QLED picture quality with a refined form that fits naturally into premium interiors. Its Anti Glare panel reduces unwanted reflections, while the Slim Fit Wall Mount allows the TV to sit close to the wall for a clean, gallery-like installation. The Frame eliminates the need for a separate One Connect Box by integrating key connection components into the display, supporting simpler installation in hospitality spaces. Optional magnetic bezels allow hotel operators to customize the frame to match the mood and design of each space, as well[1].

Collection Hub gives The Frame its distinct value as an Art TV for hospitality environments, allowing hotel operators to display selected artwork, photography or brand visuals when the TV is not in active use. Generative Wallpaper lets guests create AI-generated backgrounds for the screen, adding a customized touch to their room experience. Together, these features help each display become part of the room’s design, whether presenting hotel-curated visuals or AI-generated imagery selected by guests.

As Samsung’s most premium hospitality TV offering, The Frame for hotels is the first model in Samsung’s hotel TV lineup to support Generative Wallpaper and Live Translate. Live Translate helps international travelers comfortably watch local broadcasts or Samsung TV Plus with subtitles in their preferred language. The result is more accessible local content for users traveling overseas[2].

Beginning with Samsung’s 2025 hotel TV lineup, and extending to the HL03H model, Google Cast and Apple AirPlay support allows guests to share content from a smartphone or tablet to the in-room TV by scanning an on-screen QR code. No separate login is required, and device connection information is automatically deleted upon checkout to help protect guest privacy[3].

Managing Hospitality Features From One Platform

LYNK Cloud, Samsung’s comprehensive hospitality cloud solution, helps hotel teams monitor TV status in real time, update on-screen services and distribute guest-facing content across connected displays from a central platform[4].

With the support of LYNK Cloud, guests can access digital concierge features, book hotel services and order room service through the in-room TV. This gives hotels another way to connect guests with property services directly from the display.

LYNK Cloud also includes Business Intelligence, a feature that helps hotel teams understand how guests use in-room TV services, including frequently ordered menu items or popular TV channels. These insights can support more relevant offerings and help identify new revenue opportunities.

Furthermore, LYNK Cloud supports Collection Hub management on hospitality model of The Frame. With it, hotel teams can distribute selected art content across connected devices simultaneously. They can adjust brightness and color tone based on indoor lighting conditions, as well, helping each display fit the hotel’s brand concept and room environment.

Samsung will showcase The Frame for hotels at booth 2442 during HITEC 2026. The new model will be available in 43-, 55-, 65- and 75-inch sizes, with global rollout beginning in the second half of 2026[5].

Samsung Electronics today announced a partnership with Alcedis, a digital-first clinical research organization (CRO) specializing in data-driven clinical trials, to translate biometrics collected by wearable devices into meaningful evidence for clinical trials in pharmaceutical and other research organizations, maximizing efficiency in terms of both cost and time.

Wearable technologies have become a widely available and cost-effective way to capture continuous, real-world health data, making them extremely appealing for clinical research. However, many research programs struggle to translate wearable-generated signals into clinically meaningful evidence.

Samsung addresses this challenge through an integrated approach that combines its latest advancements in wearable technology with clinically validated measurements, including bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) and electrodermal activity (EDA), as well as Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) features such as obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and atrial fibrillation (AFib) detection, biomarker development expertise and research-related technical infrastructure designed to support evidence generation across the research lifecycle.

“The future of clinical research is increasingly collaborative and brings together technology, scientific expertise and research partners to generate a deeper understanding of human health,” said Jongmin Choi, Head of Health R&D Group, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business, Samsung Electronics. “Through our collaboration with Alcedis, Samsung is unlocking new opportunities for biomarker development, digital endpoint innovation and evidence generation throughout the research lifecycle.”

Samsung’s research platform starts with its cutting-edge devices and biosensors featured on Galaxy Watch that enable continuous collection of physiological data in real-world environments for users that have consented. With industry-leading wearable technology and a collaborative approach to developing measurement methodologies that provide a foundation for scientifically meaningful digital biomarkers and endpoints, Samsung’s research platform allows for faster study setup with fine-grained control of biosensors and access to participant- and device-level insights and biosensor data with respect to the study and established protocols.

As healthcare shifts toward more connected, data-driven models of care and research, Samsung is helping bridge the gap between everyday health monitoring and scientific discovery — enabling a new era of evidence generation that brings researchers closer to real-world insights and helps accelerate innovation across the healthcare ecosystem.

“The future of clinical research depends on our ability to capture meaningful health data beyond traditional clinical settings,” said Hanno Härtlein, CEO of Alcedis. “Our collaboration with Samsung brings together complementary strengths and scalable infrastructure to help advance endpoints and biomarker development, to accelerate evidence generation and support the development of more patient-centric healthcare innovations. Under our collaboration, Alcedis will lead study execution and participant engagement, while Samsung will provide its advanced wearable technology and research infrastructure to support evidence generation.”
