From foldables to smartwatches, Samsung’s latest Galaxy devices take different forms but share the same design philosophy — comfort.

Samsung Newsroom spoke with Hubert Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of the Design Team, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics, to hear how this approach shaped the new lineup.

Q. What were the key design considerations for this year’s Galaxy foldable lineup?

Today’s Galaxy devices are faster and more powerful than ever. We considered how we could go one step further to deliver a more natural and comfortable experience.

Slimness and lightness are essential to creating a comfortable user experience, since they influence how naturally a device opens, how comfortable it feels in the hand and how easily it fits into everyday life. That is why we consider not only the product itself, but also every moment of the user experience it creates.

From an aesthetic perspective, we applied the concept of “Emotive Geometry.” This design approach brings human warmth to Galaxy’s simple, refined forms, creating a balanced design that goes beyond powerful performance to connect with users on an emotional level.

Q. What drove the expansion of the Galaxy Z series portfolio?

Across seven generations of foldable innovation, we’ve gained a deeper understanding of how people use their devices. As user expectations for foldables have become more diverse, we have also recognized that no single foldable can meet every need – One size does not fit all.

Some users prioritize productivity and multitasking, while others value portability. Based on these insights, we expanded the Galaxy Z series lineup so each device could better serve different priorities.

Q. Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is the slimmest Galaxy Z Fold yet. What shaped its exceptionally slim design?

The design concept behind the newest Galaxy Z series is “Emotive Slim” — an approach that focuses not only on reducing thickness, but also on how slim it looks and feels in everyday use.

We applied a gentle slope to the frame to make the foldable easier to open and created a more curved outer silhouette for a softer, more comfortable grip. We also minimized the flat side profile to create a visually slimmer appearance.

Q. Why was a passport chosen as the design inspiration for the new Galaxy Z Fold8?

The classic passport is designed to be easy to carry, hold with one hand and read at a glance. Those same ergonomic principles shaped Galaxy Z Fold8, extending our focus on comfort throughout the device’s overall layout.

When folded, it features a 16:10 aspect ratio optimized for one-handed use. Unfolded, it becomes a more immersive 4:3 display with balanced symmetry[2].

Q. How were these colors chosen for the new Galaxy Z series?

Each color was chosen to reflect the lifestyle of the people each device is designed for. Violet Shadow gives Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra a chic, sophisticated look, while Lavender brings freshness and softness to Galaxy Z Fold8. Pink adds vibrant, playful energy to Galaxy Z Flip8. Cream and Graphite round out the palette with timeless versatility.

Q. How did Samsung refine the design of Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9?

If a smartphone lives in the hand, a smartwatch delivers its greatest value when it’s comfortable enough to wear every day. That’s why our approach to the new Galaxy Watch series focused on refinement rather than reinvention, preserving our core design while enhancing the details that matter most.

At the center of Galaxy Watch is the cushion design. More than a shape, it defines the watch’s identity by balancing presence with softness and precision with comfort. For Galaxy Watch Ultra2, we brought the screen, bezel and cushion body into a seamless form, creating a cleaner profile and a more premium look. We also carefully refined the spacing and tactile separation between the buttons, making each one easier to distinguish by touch and enabling precise control without looking at the screen.

Q. How have the bands on Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 changed?

Bands play a critical role in wearability. For this generation, we made them lighter, thinner and more breathable with a new air pocket structure.

Because every wrist is different, we used computational design to validate comfort and fit using more than one hundred million real-user wrist data and ten thousand of simulations. We refined the balance between the watch body and band for greater stability on the wrist, while expanded band options give users more ways to express their personal style.

Q. What design philosophy ties this year’s Galaxy devices together?

In an era shaped by AI-driven change, human-centered values are more important than ever. Design shouldn’t only be seen — it should also be felt. For design to feel truly human, it must begin with a deep understanding of how people live, work and interact with technology every day. That belief has guided our approach to designing foldables and smartwatches.

Strong early demand reflects growing excitement for Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z series, with pre-orders for the new lineup having increased by more than 30% compared with the previous generation. Graphite was the most popular color overall for Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold8, while Pink led pre-orders for Galaxy Z Flip8. Among Samsung.com pre-order customers aged 15 to 34, exclusive colors Green Shadow, Pistachio and Mint emerged as the top choices for Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8, respectively.

The New Galaxy Z Series: Three Distinct Foldable Experiences

Built on seven generations of foldable innovation and consumer insight, the new Galaxy Z series gives users more choice than ever, with three distinct experiences engineered to fit different needs.

Galaxy Z Fold8 introduces a fresh form factor built around the way people explore, discover and immerse themselves in their favorite content. Its display ratios are designed to move naturally with users throughout the day – from quick interactions like messaging, browsing and short-form video on the wider cover screen to more immersive viewing, reading and gaming on the 4:3 main display. With Gemini Notebook, users can bring together notes, images, recordings, files, and documents in one workspace to collect, organize, and develop their ideas. At just 201g, it is Samsung’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold yet, while Samsung’s new Flex Titanium technology helps support a slimmer display structure with lasting durability and reduced crease visibility over time.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra brings Galaxy’s renowned Ultra standard to foldables, combining a larger workspace with an upgraded camera system and performance built for demanding creative workflows. Its expansive 8-inch main display opens up more room for multitasking, while Now Nudge[2] helps users move from conversation to action by suggesting relevant next steps across supported apps.

The 200 MP main camera now supports High Dynamic Range (HDR) in 200 MP mode for richer detail, color and clarity. A new 50 MP ultra-wide camera adds greater flexibility for wider scenes and macro shots, helping users capture more from one device. Across Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8, Dual Recording captures both the action and the user’s reaction, while My FanCam[3] automatically tracks and reframes a selected subject.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra also features a 5,000 mAh battery[4], 45 W fast charging and an expanded graphite cooling structure – all in Galaxy’s slimmest Z Fold design yet, measuring just 4.1 mm when unfolded and weighing 215g.

Galaxy Z Flip8, Samsung’s sleekest Flip ever released, is built for expression and quick interaction on the go. Its reimagined FlexWindow brings apps, insights, actions and assistance directly to the cover screen. Now Brief[5] surfaces personalized information based on users’ schedules, routines and interests. Users can also access Gemini from the FlexWindow through side-key activation or natural voice requests, making it easier to complete connected actions on the go. Galaxy Z Flip8 further enhances Samsung’s signature Flip camera experience with a 50 MP camera, ProVisual Engine and FlexCam experiences that make it easier to capture, preview and share polished photos and videos from flexible angles.

Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9: Effortless Health Management From the Wrist

Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 extend the Galaxy experience to the wrist, helping users turn daily health data into more meaningful, actionable guidance through effortless everyday wear. Both devices are powered by the Snapdragon Wear® Elite Platform and are designed to support continuous health tracking with improved performance, comfort and battery life.

Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is built for outdoor adventures and high-performance users who need long-lasting endurance, reliable durability and precise tracking. Available in a 47 mm size, it features an 800 mAh battery[6], a display with up to 5,000 nits of brightness, shock-resistant titanium casing and dedicated tracking modes for outdoor sports, including Trail Run[7]. It is also rated IP69K and 10 ATM and certified to EN 13319[8].

Galaxy Watch9 is designed as an everyday health companion for wellness-conscious users who want to build healthier habits through continuous activity and sleep tracking. Available in 40 mm and 44 mm sizes, Galaxy Watch9 features a lightweight aluminum casing, a comfortable design for 24/7 wear, a display with up to 3,000 nits of brightness and health features such as Vitals[9], Heart Health Score[10], Daily Cardio Load[11], Fitness Index[12] and Hearing.

Together with the new Galaxy Z series, Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 expand Samsung’s AI ecosystem, bringing connected companion experiences across phone and wrist.

Availability

Starting August 7[13], Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8 will be available through carriers, retailers, Samsung.com and Samsung Experience Stores in 106 markets worldwide.

Customers purchasing a new Galaxy Z series device will receive a six-month trial of Google AI Pro, including 5 TB of cloud storage, valued at RM 587.94. With expanded access to Google’s AI models, users can enhance productivity and creativity on their foldable devices[14].

Switching to Galaxy is now easier than ever, thanks to a more seamless migration experience across a wider range of devices. With the updated Smart Switch, iOS users can scan a QR code on their current device and wirelessly transfer data without downloading an additional app. Smart Switch can also transfer more types of data, including passwords and passkeys, call history, accessibility settings and eSIM information, helping reduce the time needed to set up a new device. With new compatibility between Quick Share and AirDrop, users can also share files seamlessly between iOS and Galaxy devices in both directions[15].

Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 will also be available through carriers, retailers, Samsung.com and Samsung Experience Stores in 106 markets worldwide starting Aug 7[16].

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, and Flip8 are available in a range of colors, including Violet Shadow, Lavender, and Pink, respectively — with additional options available exclusively on Samsung.com. Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is available in 47 mm, while Watch9 is offered in 40mm and 44mm. Color, size, connectivity option, model, and availability may vary by market, carrier, or retailer.

Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 users can access exclusive subscription trial benefits such as a 60-day Strava trial valued at RM59.60. To give users peace of mind after upgrading, Samsung Care+ offers comprehensive protection with fast repairs for accidental damage, extended warranty coverage and certified expert support at home and abroad. Galaxy Watch Ultra2 has obtained EN13319, which is a standard applicable to instruments measuring water depth by the environmental pressure as used by divers and also the dive time in certain condition. Water resistance is not a permanent condition and can diminish over time. If it’s been exposed to seawater, rinse it in freshwater and dry after use. Refer to the user manual for further information, including care/use instructions. Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is dust resistant with an IP6X rating based on the lab test conditions by a third party: 2 kg of talc powder (max. diameter of 0.05 mm) per cubic meter was blown into a test chamber housing the device (air pressure within device kept below surrounding air) for 2 hours. Dust resistance may vary by actual usage conditions.

Samsung Newsroom spoke with James Choi, Executive Vice President and Head of XR R&D Team, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics, to learn about the development of intelligent eyewear, the engineering behind its design and Samsung’s long-term vision for the AI glasses category.

Q. Why is Samsung introducing intelligent eyewear now and why does it believe AI glasses will become the next interface for mobile AI?

AI glasses will only become mainstream if people genuinely want to wear them every day. Achieving this level of wearability requires more than advanced AI — it also demands deep engineering expertise, mobile technologies and an understanding of how people use technology in their daily lives. Drawing on decades of mobile leadership, Samsung is well positioned to bring these elements together and help move the category forward.

AI glasses understand what users see, hear and experience around them and enable more natural, contextual and seamless interactions, bringing AI closer to the moments that matter in everyday life. Our goal is not to replace the mobile phone but to create AI glasses that help people use their phones less, while getting more value from the mobile experiences they rely on. Samsung is laying the foundation for this vision through the new intelligent eyewear, extending mobile AI beyond the screen.

Q. What are the biggest engineering priorities when developing AI glasses?

The journey began with Galaxy XR. Through our experience developing it, we learned how to design technology that people can comfortably wear on their faces. We applied those insights to intelligent eyewear, focusing every engineering decision on comfort, fit and everyday use.

Wearability isn’t simply a design challenge — it’s an engineering one. When it comes to eyewear, even a tenth of a millimeter matters. That is why we took a holistic approach, carefully considering weight, materials, thermal management and battery efficiency.

Designed to be slim and light, intelligent eyewear incorporates patented slim hinges, advanced thin-wall molding, lightweight materials and optimized hardware components. Its hinge structure prevents corrosion and withstands the demands of everyday wear, while the patented temple architecture improves structural rigidity. Thermal graphite material on the left side of the glasses also helps prevent heat generated by the AP (Application Processor) from transferring to the user’s face.

Because every face is different, we used computational design and worked closely with our eyewear partners to refine the fit across key contact points including the forehead, cheekbones and behind the ears. We also balanced the weight across both sides of the frame, so users can barely notice any difference.

Samsung has filed around 200 patent applications in this category, reflecting its long-term investment in intelligent eyewear. Ultimately, all that engineering is designed to disappear into the experience, making the glasses feel as natural as an ordinary pair.

Intelligent eyewear was introduced at Galaxy Unpacked July 2026.

Q. How did you ensure intelligent eyewear was resilient enough for everyday use?

Users expect Samsung-quality products, regardless of form factor. We applied the manufacturing expertise and rigorous verification standards developed over decades of Galaxy device innovation, while introducing additional testing tailored to intelligent eyewear.

Because it is worn directly on the face, intelligent eyewear had to meet the standards of both mobile devices and eyewear — and go beyond them. It underwent extensive durability, environmental and safety testing, including exposure to high temperatures, humidity, sunscreen, cosmetics and sweat, as well as folding and hinge expansion tests.

Despite the extensive engineering packed into its slim and lightweight design, intelligent eyewear delivers uncompromising performance, including strong battery life. Through hardware and software optimization, intelligent eyewear provides up to nine hours of active use on a single charge, even during demanding experiences such as Gemini and video recording. The charging case enables more than seven full recharges for extended multi-day use.[2]

Q. Why do you see intelligent eyewear as a new entry point for mobile AI?

Intelligent eyewear introduces a more natural and intuitive way to experience mobile AI. Its ability to understand what users see, hear and experience around them enables more personalized, contextual support in the moment.

With a high-quality camera, microphones and speakers integrated into its frame, intelligent eyewear responds through natural conversation, while reducing the need for users to stop and reach for a phone.

From real-time guidance and live translation to line-of-sight capture and context-aware assistance, these experiences are designed to help users access mobile AI while staying present in what they are doing.[3]

Q. How does intelligent eyewear fit within the broader Galaxy ecosystem?

Intelligent eyewear is designed to work as a companion device to Galaxy phones and other Galaxy wearables, extending mobile AI beyond the screen through more personalized experiences. Users can access apps and services they already rely on — from Samsung and Google apps to third-party content — through a natural, hands-free interface.

For example, they can start recording hands-free with intelligent eyewear, preview what they have captured on Now Bar and then access it in Galaxy Gallery on their phone. [4] Through split computing, processing is distributed between intelligent eyewear and the connected Galaxy phone, helping optimize performance.

Intelligent eyewear also works with Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds. Users can manage the device directly from their wrist through the Galaxy Watch screen or with intuitive gestures.[5] When Galaxy Buds are connected, they can switch audio without interrupting the experience.

Q. How did you integrate privacy and trust into the design of intelligent eyewear?

As AI becomes more personal and integrated into everyday life, trust becomes even more important. That’s why privacy was built into intelligent eyewear from the beginning, with safeguards designed to protect users and those around them.

A bystander-facing LED indicator and an inner LED clearly show when recording is active. Wear detection automatically disables recording when the glasses are removed, while a thwart detection feature disables recording if the external LED indicator is blocked.

Users can also manage privacy and personalization settings through connected Galaxy phones. Their audio, video and screen-sharing data are not used to train AI models.

Samsung will continue to enhance its privacy features to give users greater transparency and control.

Q. What does intelligent eyewear represent for Samsung’s long-term vision?

Samsung has a long history of helping define new product categories — including foldables — and setting the standards consumers have come to expect from them. Intelligent eyewear is the next step in its vision to make AI more wearable, personal and seamlessly integrated into everyday life, but it is still only the beginning. With this first generation, Samsung aims to establish a new best-in-class benchmark for the emerging category and continue advancing it with each generation.

Through the partnership, both organisations will work together to enhance digital learning environments and support initiatives designed to equip students and educators with the skills, tools and experiences needed to thrive in the future.

Held at SMKA Sheikh Tahir Jalaluddin here, the MoU exchange marked the beginning of a broader partnership aimed at supporting digital education initiatives and enhancing learning environments through greater access to innovative technologies and educational solutions. As part of the collaboration, Samsung announced its support through the provision of Mobile Experience (MX) devices, displays and interactive smartboards to help strengthen digital learning infrastructure.

As the official technology partner of Yayasan Didik Negara, Samsung will work closely with the foundation to develop and implement educational programmes that support students, educators and the wider education ecosystem. This effort will also be supported through Samsung for Education, Samsung’s holistic approach that brings technology together, learning solutions and educator professional development to help schools implement digital learning more effectively. Planned initiatives include smart classroom experiences, teacher digital upskilling efforts, STEM-related engagements and innovation-driven learning opportunities aimed at fostering future-ready skills among Malaysian students.

To hear how those insights guided the engineering behind Samsung’s latest foldables, Samsung Newsroom sat down with Sunghoon Moon, Executive Vice President and Senior Executive of Mobile R&D Office – Hardware, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics.

Q. How have seven generations of user insights shaped Samsung’s approach to the latest Galaxy Z series?

From the beginning, we saw foldables as an opportunity to redefine how people interact with their smartphones — not simply as a new form factor. Through seven generations, we’ve learned how people open, carry, unfold and rely on their devices. Those insights have shaped our engineering priorities and guided each new generation of the Galaxy Z series.

Over time, three priorities became clear: larger, more immersive displays; thinner and lighter devices without compromising durability; and ultra performance while preserving the unique advantages of the foldable form factor. Delivering all three became the defining engineering challenge behind the latest Galaxy Z series.

Q. Samsung describes foldable innovation as engineering one connected system. What does that mean in practice?

With foldables, every component is interconnected. Making a device thinner, for example, means redesigning the display, hinge, battery, thermal system and internal architecture together. Rather than optimizing individual parts separately, we engineer the entire device as one connected system. This end-to-end engineering philosophy extends from materials and component design to manufacturing, validation and the final product experience — allowing engineering advancements to become improvements people experience every day.

Samsung engineered each of the latest foldables as one connected system to bring about key improvements for users.

Q. The new Galaxy Z series introduces Flex Titanium technology. What engineering challenges did it solve?

Our goal was to make foldables thinner and lighter without compromising durability or the viewing experience. That required us to rework the display support structure protecting the ultra-thin OLED panel while preserving the flexibility needed for repeated folding.

Used in demanding industries such as aerospace, titanium offered the strength and resistance against permanent deformation essential for a foldable display. But selecting the material was only the beginning. The real challenge was developing the processing, structural design and manufacturing expertise needed to make titanium suitable for repeated folding.

Flex Titanium technology makes the display thinner and more durable while reducing crease visibility.

Flex Titanium combines two titanium-based elements. The titanium plate beneath the display serves as the primary structural support, helping absorb pressure and impacts from both the front and rear of the device. A precision-engineered lattice structure — created through a hybrid manufacturing process — allows the plate to remain flexible while maintaining structural strength. Beneath the display panel, the titanium-alloy film provides the strength, flexibility and elastic recovery needed to support repeated everyday folding, even at a thickness of just tens of micrometers — roughly one-third the thickness of a human hair.

Flex Titanium technology features an exceptionally thin titanium-alloy film and precision-engineered titanium plate.

Together, these innovations strengthened the display support structure while reducing display module thickness by 10%, creating additional space for the battery, thermal system and camera. For users, that translates into a thinner, lighter device with a flatter display and reduced crease visibility.

Q. How did Samsung reinvent the battery system for the latest Galaxy Z series?

Users expect longer battery life, faster charging and a thinner foldable — without compromising safety, stability or long-term reliability. Meeting those expectations required reengineering the battery system, not simply increasing battery capacity.

We introduced a silicon-carbon anode to improve energy density, but the innovation extends beyond the anode. Because silicon-carbon materials are more reactive, maintaining long-term stability under high-voltage conditions meant optimizing the entire battery system. Improvements to the display structure also created additional internal space, allowing us to redesign the battery system while preserving a slimmer form factor. As a result, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra features a 5,000 mAh battery.

The same philosophy shaped charging. Rather than applying a single solution across the lineup, we developed charging architectures tailored to each foldable form factor. Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold8 use a dual-path charging architecture that helps distribute power more efficiently across the battery system, enabling faster, more stable and reliable charging while improving heat management. This supports 45 W fast charging, enabling Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra to reach a 67% charge in 30 minutes. For Galaxy Z Flip8, the charging architecture was separately optimized for the unique spatial and thermal requirements of its compact form factor.

Q. To ensure foldables can withstand years of everyday use, how does Samsung validate durability before bringing a device to market?

For us, durability isn’t just about design — it must be proven through testing. We validated the complete foldable system under conditions that reflect how people use their devices. The latest Galaxy Z series was subjected to more than 100 reliability validation tests covering real-world conditions including drops, repeated folding, pressure, moisture and debris. Our goal was to understand how the complete device performs in everyday use, identify potential issues before they reach customers and build foldables people can trust.

Q. Looking back at the entire development process, how would you describe Samsung’s approach behind the Galaxy Z series?

Everything starts with the user. Over seven generations, we’ve transformed user insights into innovations in materials, components and the overall device experience. That philosophy continues to guide the Galaxy Z series — delivering foldables that are thinner, more durable, more capable and more intuitive year after year.

SEOUL, Korea – July 20, 2026 – Samsung Electronics today announced that 34 brand new artworks from the Louvre’s collection are joining Samsung Art Store for the first time, making a total of 51 masterpieces from one of the world’s most celebrated museums available to Samsung Art Store users worldwide.[1] The collection includes Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa,” along with some of the Louvre’s most renowned artworks, offering users unprecedented access to centuries of art through compatible Samsung Art TVs.[2]

The collection features some of the Louvre’s most celebrated masterpieces, including Eugène Delacroix’s “Liberty Leading the People,” Paolo Veronese’s “The Wedding Feast at Cana,” and Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres’ “La Grande Odalisque”. These iconic works are complemented by paintings from major European masters such as Caravaggio and Jacques-Louis David, alongside distinguished examples of French Neoclassical and Academic painting, including Dominique Papety’s “Greek Women at the Fountain” and Nicolas Poussin’s “Orpheus and Eurydice” — representing a major expansion of Samsung’s curated digital gallery.

Samsung Electronics today reported financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026.

The Company posted KRW 171.5 trillion in consolidated revenue, another all-time quarterly high, representing a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) increase of 28%. Operating profit also reached another all-time high, increasing to KRW 89.5 trillion. Earnings per share for both common and preferred shares increased by 52% to KRW 10,849, among the highest levels for global tech companies.

The Device Solutions (DS) Division posted a QoQ sales increase of 56%, with the Memory Business setting an all-time high for quarterly revenue and operating profit.

The Device eXperience (DX) Division posted a QoQ sales decrease of 9%.

DS To Maintain Growth Momentum While Advancing Technology Leadership

The DS Division posted KRW 127.5 trillion in consolidated revenue and KRW 89.2 trillion in operating profit for the second quarter.

The Memory Business achieved another record-breaking quarter by proactively addressing AI demand despite limited capacity with a primary focus on server products. The continued industry-wide upward trend of prices also contributed to the record earnings.

Additionally, the Business solidified market competitiveness via industry-leading products, with server revenue achieving a record-high share of the sales mix. The Business scaled up HBM4 sales with industry-leading performance and further strengthened technology competitiveness by shipping the industry’s first HBM4E samples to major customers.

In H2 2026, the Memory Business expects robust demand centered on servers stemming from continued AI infrastructure capex and broader adoption of agentic AI. Meanwhile, growth in demand for server DRAM, eSSDs, and HBM is expected to accelerate. This is projected to keep the market undersupplied, despite partial demand moderation in mobile and PCs.

The Memory Business also plans to continue setting the pace for the market via technology leadership, seeking to optimize its portfolio in consideration of changes in demand by application and according to customer feedback. Despite efforts to increase production, supply constraints are expected to continue.

The Business also plans to lead the market by addressing strong demand with a focus on high-value-added products, such as HBM4, DDR5, SOCAMM2 and others, while extending its leadership into next-generation AI platforms. This follows the industry’s first HBM4E sample shipment, as well as the H1 2026 market penetration of PCIe Gen6 and UFS 5.0 solutions.

The System LSI Business was impacted by flagship seasonality and soft mobile demand in China, yet managed to sustain quarterly revenue through expanded sales of high-volume mobile SoCs and image sensors, driving first-half revenue to a record high. It secured orders for a next-generation flagship SoC and continued to build momentum on the back of new business from major customers.

In H2 2026, the Business expects rising component costs and soft consumer demand to persist. However, it will continue to drive sales of next-generation flagship SoCs while seeking new business for custom SoCs, while also aiming to strengthen its competitiveness in sensors and LSI products.

Earnings for the Foundry Business improved significantly prior to incentive-related provisions, driven by HBM base-die demand and strong orders from customers in the U.S. Design wins with major customers continued to expand, with 2nm HPC engagements as a notable example.

Looking ahead to H2 2026, the Foundry Business plans to ramp up production of new mobile products based on the second-generation 2nm process and expand sales of LPU and base-die products based on the 4nm process. Amid rising demand across all process nodes from customers in the U.S. and China, the Business is targeting double-digit revenue growth. Additionally, the Business will deliver mid-to-long-term growth via advanced nodes and the expansion of AI and HPC design wins.

SDC To Drive Growth Through Differentiated Display Technologies

Samsung Display Corporation (SDC) posted KRW 7.5 trillion in consolidated revenue and KRW 0.7 trillion in operating profit for the second quarter.

For the small and medium display business, SDC reported an improvement in earnings based on solid demand for high-end mobile OLED products, while its large display business expanded sales volume and revenue on the growth of the gaming monitor market.

In H2 2026, SDC plans to focus on addressing premium smartphone demand with low-power products and diversified form factors. It will also pursue revenue growth through timely mass production of the 8.6G IT OLED line, as it seeks to expand supply of differentiated products to the tablet, gaming, and automotive markets. The large display business will focus on driving sales growth with an expanded gaming monitor customer base and strengthened product lineup.

MX to Expand Flagship-Led Sales with Competitiveness of New Products

The MX and Networks Businesses posted KRW 33.2 trillion in consolidated revenue and reported an operating loss of KRW 0.7 trillion for the second quarter. While revenue grew year-on-year (YoY) on solid sales of the Galaxy S26 series and strong Galaxy A series momentum, earnings declined due to elevated component cost pressures across the industry.

In H2 2026, the MX Business plans to strengthen AI leadership through personalized and intuitive experiences and drive overall market share growth based on flagship-first expansion centered on the new Galaxy Z8 and S26 series. The Business will also seek to enhance its premium mix across the Galaxy ecosystem and deliver AI-driven experiences in new form factors with the launch of its Intelligent Eyewear. Additionally, it will pursue efficiency initiatives to mitigate the impact of rising costs.

In Q2 2026, the Networks Business reported an improvement in earnings QoQ and YoY, supported by overseas sales expansion. In H2 2026, the Business aims to secure profitability through new orders and structural cost discipline amid telco investment headwinds.

CE Business and Harman to Further Differentiate Product Offerings Through Innovation

The Visual Display (VD) and Digital Appliances (DA) Businesses posted KRW 14.5 trillion in consolidated revenue, and recorded a slight operating loss for the second quarter.

The VD Business saw revenue and earnings increase YoY as a result of high demand from major sporting events. However, earnings declined QoQ due to increased costs.

In H2 2026, the VD Business will lead the AI TV market with differentiated customer experiences based on Vision AI while capturing seasonal demand through strengthened channel partnerships. The Business will also enhance TV market leadership and profitability by growing its service business through the diversification of its Samsung TV Plus content and expansion of its advertising business.

Meanwhile, the DA Business experienced revenue growth from increased air conditioner demand, despite cost pressures weighing on earnings. In H2 2026, the Business aims to strengthen market leadership through the expansion of AI-based product sales while pursuing profitability-driven channel diversification and enhanced product competitiveness.

Harman posted improved earnings on expanded automotive segment sales, as well as strong audio sales led by portable products. In H2 2026, it will seek to address demand in high-growth automotive segments, including the central compute unit. It will also expand audio sales based on an enhanced lineup and brand awareness, while maintaining stable growth momentum through revenue expansion across the automotive and audio businesses.
