Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced its upcoming showcase at CES 2026, which will be held Jan. 6-9 in Las Vegas, Nevada. At CES, the company will highlight a series of improvements in home living that merge AI-powered customized care and powerful hardware-supported performance. This year, the company is enhancing its Bespoke AI living appliance lineup with smarter fabric care, intuitive temperature control and more convenient cleaning experiences — all designed to adapt to users’ lifestyles through seamless synergy between its devices. Featured innovations include the upgraded Bespoke AI AirDresser, Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, Bespoke AI WindFree Pro Air Conditioner and the flagship Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra robot vacuum.

Faster Full Cycles, Enhanced Drying, and Smarter Care With the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo

Following its 2024 debut, the 2026 Bespoke AI Laundry Combo is launching with upgrades that shorten wash-to-dry cycles and enhance drying performance. The Super Speed cycle leverages a high-pressure Speed Spray that improves detergent penetration and rinsing to enable fast and efficient washing, while the newly incorporated Booster Heat Exchanger delivers improved drying performance. The upgraded combo also features Auto Open Door+, which not only automatically opens the door, but also activates internal air circulation after wash-only cycles to keep remaining laundry from developing a musty odor.

Additionally, the upgraded AI Wash & Dry+[1] uses multiple sensors to optimize performance for each load. It detects the weight to determine the right amount of water and detergent, identifies five fabric[2] types — including Outdoor and Denim — and monitors soil levels in real time. The newly applied Wide Lint Filter features a one-touch design for easier cleaning, and a dual-layer design and large capture area to provide thorough collection of lint and particles This year, in addition to the original 7” LCD screen model, a more affordable variant with a 2.8” LCD screen and jog dial[3] is also being introduced to cater to diverse customer needs.

Bespoke AI AirDresser Now Offers Stronger Wrinkle Care and Smarter Drying

Three years after its predecessor, Samsung’s upgraded Bespoke AI AirDresser is returning with enhanced performance and greater convenience. It features the new Auto Wrinkle Care function, which leverages an enhanced Dual AirWash and Dual JetSteam system to help smooth out wrinkles quickly and effortlessly in busy mornings. The Dual JetSteam also effectively maintains the freshness of clothing by infusing high temperature heat deep into the fabric – reducing 99.9% of certain viruses[4] and bacteria[5] and 99% of unpleasant odors[6]. Furthermore, the model features an intelligent drying course that adjusts drying time to suit small, medium, or large loads. This ensures optimal drying, preventing over or under-drying and protects fabric quality.

A standout feature is its synergy with the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo. The Auto Cycle Link[7] recommends an appropriate drying course on the Air Dresser once a wash cycle ends. When certain cycles designed for special care – such as the Blouse Cycle – are selected on the Combo, the same option is automatically queued on the AirDresser, creating a continuous garment care flow. The refreshed design also includes a sleek One Body Door and 2.8″ LCD screen[8] for improved usability.

Bespoke AI WindFree Pro Air Conditioner Delivers Various Tailored Wind Modes with Multi Blades

This year’s new WindFree Air Conditioner incorporates AI technology [9] and Motion Wind to address the key attribute that influences customer purchasing decisions, which are wind modes[10]. The number of blades have increased from one to three, enabling airflow to be directed in multiple directions according to user preferences. The Triple Motion Wings create seven tailored wind modes — including Max Wind, which delivers instant cooling 15% faster;[11] Surround Wind, which spreads airflow evenly; Long Reach Wind, which sends cool air twice as far;[12] and Down Wind, which quickly drives warm air downward for faster delivery of cool air. With radar-based AI Direct and Indirect Wind modes[13], the system senses user presence and automatically directs or diverts airflow to enhance comfort.

The model also includes AI Fast & Comfort Cooling, which analyzes temperature, humidity, and room size to automatically activate optimized cooling. Based on usage patterns,[14] it offers Fast Cooling, WindFree comfort and cold-free Dry Comfort. In addition, AI Energy Mode monitors both usage behavior and external conditions to minimize compressor fluctuations, helping reduce energy consumption by up to 30%.[15]

Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra Brings Object and Liquid Recognition for Smarter Navigation

The newly launching Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra[16] comes with advanced recognition technologies designed to reduce human intervention and simplify cleaning like never before. Powered by a Qualcomm Dragonwing processor, it offers deep learning–based AI Object Recognition[17] to better detect humans,[18] cats and dogs,[19] as well as hard-to-see obstacles like cables or rugs. This model also supports AI Liquid Recognition, allowing it to detect liquid spills[20] and determine whether to clean or avoid them based on the user’s set preference. Additionally, upgraded Easy Pass Wheel technology raises the body and lowers the wheels to climb thresholds of up to 2.4 inches.[21]

Q1. Why has Samsung been building the foundation for a connected AI Home?

Home appliances were invented to reduce household chores and have continued to evolve for more than a century. Technology has eliminated much of that labor, but one challenge remains — creating seamless connections across the household journey, from washing to drying, food management to cooking and cleaning to air purification.

The first step toward solving this issue is achieving smooth device connectivity — and that’s exactly what SmartThings delivers. By enabling appliances and devices to communicate and operate in sync, SmartThings ultimately aims to free users from housework and help them enjoy a more effortless, fulfilling life.

Q2. What sets Samsung apart in enabling a connected AI Home?

Less Chores, More Time

Q3. What are some benefits consumers can enjoy through Samsung’s connected platform and AI Home ecosystem?

When a washing cycle finishes while users are watching TV, a notification appears in the upper-right corner of the screen — letting them check laundry progress. While cooking in the kitchen, users can turn on the air conditioner in their child’s room directly from the SmartThings-connected refrigerator display. With 3D Map View, users can monitor and control all connected devices through a three-dimensional layout of their home. The Away Mode feature in SmartThings automatically turns off lights and the TV when users leave — and even starts the robot vacuum to clean on its own.

Quick Remote is another convenient feature that lets users control their appliances directly from their smartphones.[5] When a SmartThings-connected appliance is nearby, a pop-up automatically appears on the smartphone — allowing users to operate the device instantly without searching for a remote.

SmartThings also helps users save energy effortlessly. When AI Energy Mode is activated, it analyzes usage patterns to reduce energy consumption by up to 10% for refrigerators,[6] 70% for washing machines[7] and 30% for air conditioners.[8] Samsung is expanding this energy-efficient ecosystem globally through partnerships with companies like British Gas in the United Kingdom and CoolBlue in the Netherlands.

Q4. Beyond appliance control, how does SmartThings enhance family and pet care?

Housework is more than cleaning — it’s also about caring for one’s family and home. SmartThings-connected appliances now extend that care, helping users look after themselves, their families, their pets and their living spaces.

Family Care[9] supports loved ones who live apart. If abnormal activity patterns are detected or a connected appliance has not been used for a certain period, SmartThings sends an alert prompting users to check in. Through the SmartThings app, users can also set medication schedules — sending smartphone reminders, dispensing the right amount and temperature of water from a connected purifier and even enabling home monitoring through a linked robot vacuum when no one is at home to check in.

Pet Care helps keep pets safe and comfortable while owners are away. On hot days, users can remotely turn on a SmartThings-connected air conditioner or check in on their pets through a home camera. If barking is detected, users can play soothing music through the robot vacuum or stream calming videos on the TV.

Connected through SmartThings, home appliances have redefined their role — evolving from simple household tools into intelligent companions that make daily life more convenient while caring for users and their families.

Ambient Intelligence – The Future of AI Home

Q5. What direction is Samsung taking with SmartThings and AI Home?

At IFA 2025, Samsung introduced the Smart Modular Home — a solution that allows users to experience the benefits of an AI Home from the moment they move in, demonstrating that the AI Home is no longer a vision of the future but a reality.

Released ahead of IFA 2025, the campaign highlights Samsung’s vision for the AI Home as newly defined by SmartThings.

Samsung’s AI Home understands users and adapts to their needs, delivering a personalized AI experience that connects both Samsung and third-party devices through SmartThings. The video shows examples of how AI Home enables users to enjoy more quality time and focus on what matters most by doing less at home.

In the video, SmartThings Routine adjusts the air conditioner temperature and lighting, while a single tap on the SmartThings app enables home appliances to manage household chores automatically[1]. This allows users to enjoy quality family time, comfortable relaxation, and restful sleep. Additionally, through the SmartThings Pet Care service, users can care for their pets even when they are busy.

Under the theme “AI Home: Future Living, Now,” Samsung will present an advanced AI Home experience[1] at IFA 2025, Europe’s largest home appliance exhibition, taking place in Berlin from September 5-9.

As the event draws nearer, Samsung Newsroom is taking a closer look at the company’s innovation trajectory and how its appliances have advanced into the future.

From the Talking Refrigerator to Bixby, and Now a Voice-Connected Home

Samsung marked the beginning of voice-enabled appliances in 1985 with the debut of its Talking Refrigerator. Later equipped with early speech synthesis technology in 1989, the product went beyond simple voice guidance by offering scheduled playback of recordings, a family memo feature and door-open alerts — laying the foundation for AI-enabled voice interaction.

This early innovation eventually evolved into Bixby[2], Samsung’s AI voice assistant introduced in 2018. Bixby has since become the intelligence and control hub of the company’s home appliances, enabling voice control across refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines and more. With Voice ID[3], the AI assistant can now even recognize individual users to provide customized information.

Appliance Screens, Now the Hub of the Home 

Samsung was an early pioneer of the concept of “screen appliances,” presenting a vision for the future of connected homes. In 1982, the company introduced a multi-purpose microwave with a screen, which not only allowed users to check cooking instructions but also watch TV and even monitor home entry with surveillance camera functions. Later, Samsung expanded the role of the screen to refrigerators, transforming them from simple storage units into the hub of daily family life.

In 2016, Samsung launched the Family Hub refrigerator — an IoT-enabled fridge. Equipped with a 21.5-inch touchscreen and internal cameras, it allowed users to check the status of their food items and manage grocery shopping online, opening up a completely new kitchen experience. Since then, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners and other appliances have been connected through SmartThings[4], with screens that have evolved into control hubs that let users monitor and manage smart devices throughout the home at a glance.

From Neuro-Fuzzy Washers to Bespoke AI: The Evolution of Intelligent Appliances 

Samsung took its first step toward intelligent appliances in 1980 with the launch of an air conditioner embedded with a microcomputer chip. This spirit of innovation continued into the 1990s, when Samsung launched the Neuro-Fuzzy washing machine which features the fuzzy logic IC[5] and neuro-algorithms, in 1991. Using optical sensors, it detected soil level, load size and water temperature, then automatically optimized the wash cycle — introducing the concept of appliances that sense, decide and deliver personalized solutions.

In 2018, Samsung launched the QuickDrive washing machine, which applied AI-based curation to recommend wash cycles based on fabric type, color and soil level. This innovation laid the groundwork for the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, equipped with AI Wash and Dry, which automatically detect fabric types and soil levels to deliver optimized wash cycles and drying temperatures.[6]

Samsung also brought intelligence to vacuum cleaners with the Hauzen robot vacuum in 2006. Using a gyro sensor, it calculated distance and angles to map out optimal cleaning routes through self-mapping capabilities. This marked a shift from simple dust collection to appliances capable of responding to their environment. Today’s Bespoke Jet Bot Combo builds on this legacy with advanced security and AI-powered camera sensors that recognize and avoid objects[7], distinguish floor types[8] and navigate more intelligently.

“Samsung’s AI Home will become an integral part of our lives, analyzing multimodal information from connected devices to better understand users while seamlessly adapting to their daily needs,” said CK Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Digital Appliances (DA) Business at Samsung Electronics, who is the opening speaker at this press conference. “We expect this year’s IFA to mark the beginning of that journey.”

New Update: Bixby and Samsung TV Plus

The Voice ID feature[2] is a new multi-voice recognition function provided by Bixby.[3] It identifies users’ voices registered either on the refrigerator or a Galaxy mobile device, enabling personalized features based on the recognized user. This allows consumers to personalize shared home appliances for individual use, offering greater convenience and functionality.

For example, Bixby intelligently switches to each user’s Samsung account based on the recognized user. Users can check their registered schedules on the calendar,[4] or their photos[5] using simple voice commands. Also, they can trigger an alarm on their phone to check its location, even when the device is set to silent mode.[6]

The Voice ID feature also enables seamless interactions with the refrigerator screen for users who utilize vision enhancements on their Galaxy mobile phones. Even without a request to switch accounts, Bixby automatically switches accounts with general conversations for these users. It then synchronizes the appliance’s display modes with the settings on the user’s mobile phone, such as color inversion or grayscale.[7]

Additionally, Samsung has introduced a new way to activate Bixby on the screen. Previously, users could activate Bixby by clicking the Bixby icon on the screen or through voice commands. When the screen is off, an additional option has been added to activate Bixby by double-tapping the display. Users can make the most of this feature by selecting their preferred method in the settings.

The update is being applied to Bespoke AI Refrigerators with AI Family Hub launching in 2025 first,[8] with availability coming after the completion of the latest software update on AI Family Hub screens or SmartThings.

Additionally, Samsung plans to gradually apply this update to the Bespoke AI refrigerators with AI Home[9] in the second quarter of 2025. For refrigerators with AI Home, the update expands the service area for Samsung TV Plus, as well. Previously available in only South Korea and the United States, the service will extend to Canada, Brazil, Australia, Mexico and India. Thanks to the update, it is expected that consumers will be able to easily enjoy entertainment features right from their kitchen with Samsung TV Plus.

Held on June 25 in Gurugram, India, the Southwest Asia Tech Seminar focused on SmartThings-connected solutions and energy-efficient features tailored to local preferences.

At the foundation of the showcase is Samsung’s commitment to making home living easier and more intuitive. This commitment is underscored by its “AI Home” vision, which focuses on the four key pillars of Ease, Save, Care, and Secure.

One of the centerpieces of this experience is the upgraded AI Home display[1] — a smart screen now available across more appliances, which enables users to seamlessly access functions, view personalized information on their Daily Board, and manage their home using Map View. The screen also connects third-party devices[2] via SmartThings, eliminating the need for a separate hub[3].

To enhance hands-free control experiences, the Bixby[4] voice assistant now includes Voice ID,[5] allowing the system to recognize individual users registered in advance, sync personal calendars[6] and even mirror Galaxy smartphone accessibility settings for better visibility. [7] Users can also access the benefits of new SmartThings services such as Family Care,[8] which offers peace of mind by alerting family members of inactivity or unusual patterns, while being secured by Samsung Knox.

Innovative Refrigeration Solutions

At the seminar, Samsung also showcased its new global refrigerator lineup, which brings to life the “Screens Everywhere” vision that was first unveiled at CES 2025. Notable features of the lineup include the debut of the 9-inch AI Home display and improved AI Family Hub experiences.

Another highlight was the introduction of the new Side-by-Side model which was recently launched for the Southeast Asian market. It features an integrated screen for enhanced usability, supports AI Energy Mode[9] through built-in Wi-Fi connectivity and includes Wide Auto Open Door, which allows users to open the door with just a light touch.

Smarter Laundry, Greater Efficiency

Samsung continues to lead in laundry solutions with AI-enhanced functionality that delivers higher levels of convenience and efficiency. In response to regional demands, Samsung is incorporating AI Wash [10]— previously exclusive to front-load washers — to the new Bespoke AI Top Load Washer for the first time. The top-load models also offer a range of other AI features, including AI Energy Mode and AI VRT+.

Additionally, the new Bespoke AI Washer and Dryer set offers the enhanced AI Wash+ and AI Dry+[11] features for smarter performance. Notably, they can recognize a wider range of fabric types than before, giving users a more personalized laundry experience[12]. The new Bespoke AI Laundry washer and dryer set also comes equipped with AI Home Screen that offer intuitive control and monitoring of essential information such as wash cycles and remaining detergent levels.

At the seminar, Samsung introduced the principles behind the AI features of its laundry lineup, particularly focusing on how its devices leverage AI to detect laundry and adjust the washing or drying cycle accordingly.

Diverse air conditioner solutions for smart living

Attendees at the seminar also learned about the new ‘Good Sleep’ mode, which allows users to connect their air conditioners with their Galaxy Watch series and Galaxy Ring, and enable automatic adjustment of the air conditioner from the wearable’s detection of their sleep stage.

The newly launched system air conditioner (SAC) lineup was also on display during the seminar, giving attendees the opportunity to discover more about Samsung’s intelligent climate solutions that offer seamless smart experiences with built-in Wi-Fi connectivity.

Powerful, Intelligent Vacuum Cleaners

Samsung is also introducing its most advanced vacuum products yet. In a 2024 survey[1] conducted by Samsung with 1,443 participants across five countries, the most preferred AI appliance experience was “easier and more natural voice control”(32%) followed by “integrated touchscreens on appliances”(30%).

Samsung first introduced a 21.5-inch screen on its Family Hub refrigerator in 2016. Since then, the company has incorporated a variety of screen sizes — including 4.3-inch, 7-inch and 32-inch displays — across its home appliance lineup. Samsung further broadened the scope this year to include both combined and standalone washers and dryers, as well as induction cooktops. Notably, a 9-inch screen has been added to the refrigerator lineup for the first time — offering consumers even more choice.[2]

How have screen-equipped appliances changed users’ daily lives? Samsung Newsroom highlights five ways Samsung’s Bespoke AI screen-equipped appliances help users get more out of their homes.

1. Personalized Information at a Glance with Daily Board

The dashboard-style Daily Board[3]  allows users to easily view personalized information right from the kitchen. Introduced for the first time this year, the feature is available on various screen-equipped refrigerators including Samsung’s new refrigerator with 9-inch AI Home screen.

As users heads to the kitchen for a glass of water in the morning, they can check the weather, view their schedule and even get recipe suggestions using ingredients stored inside the fridge — all from the screen.

The upgraded AI voice assistant, Bixby[4] now recognizes individual voices and offers personalized support — from displaying individual schedules to executing specific voice commands like Auto Open Door.[5]

2. From Recipe to Over: Orchestrating Meals With Ease

Samsung’s screens go beyond controlling individual home appliances — they enhance the entire home experience through seamless device connectivity.

AI Vision Inside[6] now recognizes up to 37 types of fresh ingredients stored in the refrigerator and automatically creates a food list on the screen. The newly introduced AI Food Manager can also recommend up to 50 frequently used processed or packaged items based on usage patterns.[7] From the screen, users can receive personalized recipe suggestions tailored to available ingredients. These recipes can then be sent to connected cooking appliances — such as ovens and induction cooktops — via SmartThings, making meal preparation smooth and convenient.[8]

3. Control the Entire Smart Home From One Screen

With the Map View feature, users can monitor and control all their connected home appliances from a single screen.[9] Everything can be managed remotely, from adjusting modes and changing temperatures to managing other key settings. Whether in the kitchen or living room, users can answer phone calls, monitor visitors or unlock doors — all through the screen.

Notably, this year’s new models[10] feature upgraded screens that go beyond basic control — now, they serve as smart home hubs capable of connecting to and managing a wide range of devices. In addition to Wi-Fi, the appliances support Zigbee, Matter and Thread for more compatibility with various smart home and Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems.[11]

4. Just a Simple Tap To Enjoy Home Entertainment

Samsung’s AI appliances make it easy to enjoy entertainment — either by mirroring content from a smartphone or directly accessing the internet or apps like YouTube and Spotify from the screen. For example, users can cook while watching a mirrored video on the refrigerator screen or use the washing machine’s screen to search YouTube for laundry tips and set the appropriate wash mode.

5. Energy Use Monitoring and Smart Maintenance Tips

One of the biggest advantages of Samsung’s large screens is their ability to intuitively visualize and manage energy consumption and maintenance tasks.

With SmartThings Energy, users can track energy use and reduce consumption through AI Energy Mode. They can also access the Optimal Scheduling feature[12] that suggests ideal times to run appliances based on periods of high carbon emissions. After each wash or dry cycle, the screen displays a graph that breaks down the time spent and energy used.

To extend the appliance’s lifespan and ensure safety, the screen regularly checks device status and notifies users when filters need changing or cleaning. Bixby can even visually and audibly provide maintenance instructions on the screen when users ask.[13]

Once Bixby recognizes a user’s voice, it switches to the Samsung account linked with the Family Hub and provides personalized information such as schedules (compatible with Google and Microsoft Calendar apps), phone location, photos and more. This Bixby voice recognition feature is supported on screen-equipped appliances running Tizen OS but not on washer and dryer models with 4.3-inch screen running Tizen Lite OS.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the global rollout of the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra, our most powerful cordless stick vacuum cleaner,[1] which was unveiled at the Welcome to Bespoke AI global event held this month. Featuring the upgraded AI Cleaning Mode 2.0 and advanced HEPA filtration system, this latest innovation builds on Samsung’s leadership in smart home cleaning appliances.

Clean Thoroughly with Our Most Powerful Suction Power

The Bespoke AI Jet Ultra delivers suction power of up to 400W[3] to handle even the tough cleaning tasks. The HexaJet Motor is the key component that generates high suction power. Its unique Hexagon stator structure with a second-stage diffuser and an impeller with the reduced thickness improve airflow and increase motor efficiency, thus enabling up to 400W of suction power. Plus, the motor allows the vacuum cleaner to run for up to 100 minutes on one battery when using Min mode,[4] so users can clean their whole house in one go.

Intelligent Cleaning Support through AI Cleaning Mode 2.0

The Bespoke AI Jet Ultra also introduces the upgraded AI Cleaning Mode 2.0.[5] By sensing the brush load and vacuuming air pressure, this mode can classify a total of six different cleaning environments[6] using Samsung’s AI Optimum Tech and automatically adjust the cleaning performance. When using the Active Dual Brush, it can recognize whether a carpet is normal or long-pile. The vacuum cleaner senses corners[7] with the Slim LED Brush+, as well. And by adjusting the suction power and brush speed[8] for the different cleaning environments, it uses power more efficiently, reducing battery power use by 21% and increasing maneuverability by 8% with performance akin to Mid mode.[9]

Advanced HEPA Filtration System

Complementing this powerful and intelligent experience, Samsung has enhanced the filtration system to help capture dust particles as air is expelled from the vacuum cleaner. The Bespoke AI Jet Ultra features a Multi-layered Filtration system that effectively traps fine dust.[10] When air comes in, internal compartments like the cyclone and a metal mesh grille filter catch dust particles in succession. As a result, it achieves a filtration efficiency of 99.999%.[11]

Another distinctive benefit is that Samsung has implemented HEPA filtration into its Multi-layered Filtration system. With this system, the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra captures dust particles as small as 0.3µm, allowing less dust[12] to escape into the air.

[7] Corner and floor-wall joint detection only operates in hard floor environments. “Corner” refers to the area where two flat and closed walls meet. The suction power increases about 2-3.5 seconds after the brush is pressed against the wall. If the brush contacts only one side of the corner or if there is a gap in the corner, it may not be recognized as a corner, and the recognition accuracy and reaction speed may vary depending on the wall shape and actual usage environment.
