Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced that two series of robot vacuum cleaners, the Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam[1] and the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo,[2] and Bespoke AI Refrigerators[3] have received IoT security certification from TÜV Nord, a global certification organization based in Germany.

This marks the first time Samsung’s digital appliances have received TÜV Nord security certification, further underscoring the company’s leadership in both home appliance technology and data security.

“As the global focus on smart home security intensifies, Samsung continues to deliver robust protection through our Knox security platform,” said Jeong Seung Moon, Executive Vice President and Head of the R&D Team for Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics. “This certification validates the strength of our security technologies, and we will continue to enhance differentiated protection to safeguard customer data.”

TÜV Nord is a globally renowned institution, acknowledged as an IECEE-accredited National Certification Body. The certification is based on the ETSI EN 303 645 standard, established by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), which defines security and privacy requirements across the lifecycle of consumer IoT devices — from design and development to distribution and operation. Key criteria include data encryption, authentication and access control, secure software updates, personal data protection and vulnerability management.

The European market is already tightening security requirements with updates to the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) and upcoming implementation of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). Against this backdrop, TÜV Nord certification demonstrates Samsung’s readiness to meet evolving international standards and its commitment to protecting users in connected environments.

Samsung has strengthened its home appliances with a wide range of Knox security technologies that safeguard user data through multiple layers of protection. These include the verification of unauthorized firmware modifications when the device is turned on. Additionally, all monitoring video footage and user commands from the robot cleaner are encrypted and only decrypted at their intended destination.[4]

The certified 2025 Bespoke AI Refrigerators and the Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam[5] further enhance security capabilities by integrating Knox Matrix and Knox Vault. Knox Matrix enables mutual security checks between devices, ensuring users are promptly alerted in the event of data theft risks. Knox Vault secures sensitive personal information, such as passwords, by processing and storing it on a dedicated hardware subsystem.

The Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam[6] will be unveiled at IFA 2025 in September. The Bespoke Jet Bot Combo and Bespoke AI Refrigerators already being rolled out in select markets globally.

Samsung Electronics today announced that its new all-in-one robot vacuum cleaner, the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI,[1] and its Family Hub Refrigerators[2] have been verified to level ‘Diamond’ by UL Solutions for their IoT security capabilities. UL Solutions Inc., is a leading global safety science company that evaluates hundreds of marketing claims each year, and one of their services, the UL Verified IoT Device Security Rating process verifies smart home devices for hacking risks and security levels. The Bespoke 4-Door Flex Refrigerator with AI Family Hub+ became the first in the home appliance industry to gain the ‘Diamond’ level, and other Family Hub models and the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI also achieved the same verification.

UL Solutions divides the level of performance into 5 levels — Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. Each level requires rigorous testing, and of them, the highest ‘Diamond’ level is only given after products pass tests evaluating the ability to detect malicious software modulation, prevent illegal access attempts, and anonymize user data. Especially, the products that achieve this highest level differentiate from level ‘Platinum’ in that they must have the ability to test unknown potential vulnerabilities, and operate programs for early detection of security vulnerabilities as well.

The importance of IoT security grows as Samsung builds its products to be more intelligent, incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) features to a host of product lineups and connecting them through SmartThings. Samsung’s devices are built to communicate with each other so that with one signal, multiple devices smartly adjust themselves.

To establish this interconnected home environment, each device — as well as data transmitted between devices, must be protected. All Samsung home appliances are protected by ‘Samsung Knox,’ a unique series of security principles, and all WiFi-enabled products come with integrated circuit (IC) chips that encrypt data, protecting it from breaches and attacks. ‘Knox Matrix,’ a security solution designed to protect interconnected devices then strengthens security one step further. It secures sensitive information across multiple devices by supporting end-to-end encryption (E2EE) technology to encrypt all shared and synchronized data, and enables devices to intelligently monitor each other for security threats and send notifications to other devices in the event that one is attacked.

The two new products boast AI features designed to make the lives of users easier. The Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI comes with AI Object Recognition,[3] an intelligent technology that recognizes humans,[4] pets,[5] and even hard-to-see items such as phone cables so that users do not have to do a “first screening clean-up” before running the vacuum. It also comes with Spatial Recognition[6] technology that automatically draws the layout of the home, and recommends names for each section. Finally, the AI Floor Detect[7] is feature that recognizes when the vacuum is on a carpet, determines the depth of the carpet and prevents it from getting wet by lifting the mop pads up into the vacuum when mopping

The newest edition of the Family Hub series, the Bespoke 4-Door Flex Refrigerator with AI Family Hub+[8] also comes with multiple AI functions that serve users’ individual needs. ‘AI Vision Inside,’[9] for one, intelligently recognizes fresh food items going in and out of the fridge and automatically creates a food list. ‘SmartThings Food’ then recommends recipes based on the available ingredients. Users can easily get ideas of what to eat, and also save food from going to waste because they can utilize various ingredients they have on hand.

Bespoke Jet Bot Combo¹ Brings a Bevy of Advanced, AI-Based Features² for a Cleaner Home

The Bespoke Jet Bot Combo is an AI-applied vacuum and mop robot cleaner that improves the user experience both during and after cleaning. The upgraded AI Object Recognition applied to the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo evolves from the technology previously introduced in the Bespoke Jet Bot AI+. It expands the number of objects it can distinguish, enabling more precise driving thanks to 3D sensor applied.

The most notable improvement is that AI Object Recognition can also recognize space and stains to provide users with better cleaning experiences. It determines and categorizes mapped areas like a living room and a kitchen, and automatically suggests setting up “no-go zones” such as the bathroom, the veranda or the entrance, to ensure the robot vacuum avoid designated areas. Meanwhile, when the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo detects a stain, it goes back to the clean station to heat the mop pads with high temperature steam and water and then returns to the area. With powerful spinning mops at 170 RPM, it can actively scrub off even hardened stains. These result in highly effective autonomous cleaning that reduces user intervention in a variety of environments.

Additionally, the model can even sense the floor type to provide enhanced cleaning, using a feature called AI Floor Detect. It distinguishes between hard floors and carpeting, and then automatically boosts its suction power which is appropriate even to vacuum up deep-lying dust in carpets. Furthermore, it helps prevent users’ carpets from getting wet and being contaminated by dirty mop pads. When the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo detects a carpet, it determines whether to lift up the mop pads or to detach them at the clean station to provide the improved anti-cross contamination solution.

The Bespoke Jet Bot Combo fully cares the last minute of cleaning experience. The clean station supplies a 3-step Total Cleaning System for mop pads, which includes auto wash, steam cleaning and auto dry with hot air. After it washes the mops with hot water heated by high temperature steam, it then sprays steam on them to prevent odors, enabling more hygienic maintenance.
