Galaxy A is Officially Awesome: AWESOME Campaign Celebrated by the Creative Industry

Samsung Electronics today announced that it has been recognized by the world-renowned Design and Art Direction Awards (D&AD) 2020 in U.K. for creativity in showcasing the newest Galaxy A smartphones.

The Samsung Galaxy A smartphone lineup focuses on features that matter the most to users, such as an immersive screen, a powerful camera and long-lasting battery life, perfectly suited for people who want to unleash their creativity and share their experiences on social media.

Awesome Is For Everyone

With the ‘Awesome is for Everyone’ campaign, Samsung celebrated the power of smartphone creativity at everyone’s fingertips. Featuring a simple, catchy tune and creatives that reflect the latest digital trends, the ad campaign attracted the attention of young consumers around the globe.

The #danceAwesome challenge, initiated in partnerships with the K-pop group BLACKPINK and mobile video-sharing social media platform TikTok, also garnered positive reaction. The social media challenge captured the imaginations of young people across the world, generating 4.7 million pieces of user-created video contents and surpassing 20.2 billion views on TikTok.

Celebrating a New Creative Tool

For nearly 60 years, the D&AD has rewarded its Pencil Awards to only the most imaginative and well-crafted brand marketing campaigns. As only ideas that resonate with a diverse and distinguished judging panel are chosen, being awarded a D&AD Pencil is considered a notable recognition of inspiring and creative ideas.

Samsung’s latest addition to its flagship Galaxy Note line, the Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy Note10+, features a best-in-class Dynamic AMOLED display with HDR10+ certification – offering users vivid color accuracy and optimum eye comfort. But for gaming enthusiasts, the Galaxy Note10 also comes equipped with the AI-based Game Booster, which supports optimized extended gameplay and play pattern analysis. The evolved S Pen, too, provides users with even more dynamic ways to game thanks to the brand-new Air actions.

The Galaxy Note10’s predecessor had provided hardcore gamers with all the tools they needed for the best mobile gaming experiences, but with the Galaxy Note10, users will be able to discover a device optimized for both heavy and casual gamers. In order to bring fun new gaming experiences to users, Samsung has been working hard to create exclusive experiences with leading mobile games, including joining forces with the incredibly popular Candy Crush Friends Saga.

Bringing Hungry Yeti to Life with the Galaxy Note10 and S Pen

Candy Crush Friends Saga is bringing one of its iconic characters, Hungry Yeti, to life in-game with a new augmented reality feature for Android users. Thanks to Samsung’s new partnership with Candy Crush Friends Saga, users of the Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ will be able to access exclusive bonus in-game AR interactions with their S Pen while playing.

Players need simply point their device at a flat surface to see Yeti come to life on-screen and in-room. By feeding this beloved character of the Candy Crush franchise daily, players can earn gifts which they can then use in-game when matching and switching candies. Users with a Galaxy Note10 or Note10+ are able to unlock even more fun in-game features with the S Pen’s Air actions; shaking the S Pen will activate the Yeti dance.

K-Pop superstars and Candy Crush superfans Lisa and Jisoo of BLACKPINK were invited to the King HQ in Stockholm to be the first to try out the new feature on the Galaxy Note10. “We are big fans of Candy Crush,” enthused Lisa while visiting the King’s office. “While we are on tour, we spend a lot of time in transit and in hotel rooms, which is when we tend to play a lot.”

“Candy Crush Friends Saga has the cutest characters, and we’ve always loved Yeti,” continued Jisoo. “It was a lot of fun to see Yeti come to life and to dance with him. We really loved the moment when Yeti gave us a gift!”

The new Hungry Yeti AR feature is available for Android and Galaxy Candy Crush Friends Saga players¹ on level 25 and above from August 30^th. S Pen Air action interactions for the Hungry Yeti AR feature are available exclusively to Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ users.

On April 10, during a jam-packed event that spanned three continents and was livestreamed for the world to see, Samsung Electronics revealed the all-new Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A80 – smartphones designed for the Era of Live.

The globe-spanning event, which was headquartered in Bangkok and included satellite showcases in Milan and São Paolo, was kicked off by DJ Koh, President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics. After unveiling the latest additions to the Galaxy A range, which Koh described as “devices that make cutting-edge innovation the standard for everyone,” Samsung demonstrated how it optimized the smartphones, inside and out, for the way we communicate today.

[Bangkok]

DJ Koh, President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics, takes to the stage in Bangkok and introduces the crowd to the Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A80.

After the presentation, Samsung welcomes the Galaxy A series’ newest ambassadors to the stage – Lisa, Jennie, Rosé and Jisoo, of K-Pop sensation BLACKPINK – who thrill the crowd with an unforgettable performance.
