The CES Innovation Awards program is an annual competition that honors outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology, recognizing top innovations across multiple categories and distinguishing the highest-rated in each field. In particular, the Samsung Visual Display Business earned 16 innovation awards with three Best of Innovation winners. This includes honors for several Samsung screens, such as its latest flagship OLED TV. Galaxy Buds3 Pro Takes Home Best of Innovation Award for Headphones & Personal Audio 

The Galaxy Buds3 Pro was named the Best of Innovation winner in Headphones & Personal Audio for its premium sound, adaptive noise control, and sleek appearance. As a whole, the Galaxy Buds3 series was designed to deliver premium audio experiences with a new computational approach while still ensuring a comfortable fit, and it incorporates Galaxy AI, allowing users to listen to lectures or speeches translated directly through their Galaxy Buds removing language and communication barriers — all without the need for a screen.

It also offers a range of Galaxy AI-powered features and tools for communication, and creativity that maximize the benefits of the large screen and significantly enhance productivity.

Galaxy Tab S10 Series for Computer Hardware & Components – This is Samsung’s first tablet series to be purposefully built for AI. The premium hardware includes 14.6-inch and 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays — the ideal canvas for the intuitive S Pen bundled with both models. Performance upgrades for the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra include an 18% increase for the CPU, a 28% increase for the GPU, and a 14% increase for the NPU compared to the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X DRAM for Mobile Devices, Accessories & Apps – Samsung has developed its first 12nm-class LPDDR5X DRAM supporting its fastest speed of up to 10.7 gigabits-per-second (Gbps). With its high performance and its smallest chip size, the LPDDR5X is optimized for next-generation on-device AI applications.

Exynos W1000 for Fashion Tech – Designed for smartwatches and wearables, the Exynos W1000 processor runs demanding applications smoothly and delivers vivid 3D graphics with its dedicated GPU. It enhances user experience with faster app loading and an always-on display that uses minimal battery power.

All Lenses on Prism (ALoP) for Imaging – Samsung’s All Lenses on Prism (ALoP) is a next-generation telephoto camera solution that places lenses directly on the prism, enhancing brightness and reducing noise. This innovative design also reduces the camera bump, allowing for a sleeker, more aesthetic design.

Samsung Electronics today announced the release of its latest external storage device – the Portable Solid State Drive (SSD) T7 Touch – which combines sleek, compact design with the fastest transfer speeds currently available based on the USB 3.2 Gen 2 standard. The new device also elevates data protection to the next level with an additional hardware security measure in the form of a built-in fingerprint sensor.

“Consumers who are constantly on the go between work, play and passion projects want to be able to securely carry their content with them,” said Dr. Mike Mang, vice president of Brand Product Biz Team, Memory Business at Samsung Electronics. “Now their data is secure thanks to the fingerprint recognition functionality incorporated into the product, which delivers industry-leading transfer speeds in a compact form factor.”

Designed for both professional and casual users, Samsung’s T7 Touch provides enough capacity to securely store large numbers of pictures, games or 4K/8K videos whether on a PC, tablet, smartphone or game console¹, as well as the durability to take their content with them².

The T7 Touch offers a significant speed upgrade over previous storage solutions. With a read speed of 1,050MB/s and a write speed of 1,000MB/s³, it is approximately twice as fast as its predecessor, the T5, and up to 9.5 times faster than external HDDs⁴. Moreover, the device can reach its maximum speed when used with the NVMe interface.

For an added layer of security, the T7 Touch brings the first built-in fingerprint scanner to Samsung SSDs on top of password protection and AES 256-bit hardware encryption. It also features a ‘Motion LED’, which allows the user to determine the status of the device simply with a single glance. Despite the considerable speed boost, hardware additions and solid metal (aluminum) casing, the new SSD still weighs in at a light 58 grams. The innovative nature of Samsung’s T7 Touch has been recognized at the CES 2020 Innovation Awards.

Available in a black or silver finish, the T7 Touch is offered in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB sizes, making it suitable for a wide range of use cases. To ensure reliable connectivity wherever the users may be, the drive comes with a USB Type-C-to-C cable and a USB Type-C-to-A cable, and is compatible with Windows, Mac and Android operating systems. The T7 Touch also includes a three-year limited warranty with manufacturer’s suggested retail prices (MSRP) of $129.99 for the 500GB, $229.99 for the 1TB and $399.99 for the 2TB.

While that article largely spotlighted winners from within the mobile category, here, we shift our focus to award-winning innovations from across Samsung’s wide-ranging product ecosystem.

• Cube Refrigerator Series – Available in a versatile range of colors, including Wine, Beer and Beauty, Samsung’s Cube Refrigerator Series features three new compact models whose stackable design and innovative low-noise cooling technology make them suitable for any room – from the kitchen to the bedroom.

• Portable Slim Double Induction – Samsung’s Portable Slim Double Induction is an innovative cooking solution designed for those who live in smaller households. It features two versatile induction burners that themselves feature nine different power levels to suit any culinary need – not just in the kitchen, but in other rooms as well.

• Samsung Shoe Care System – The Samsung Shoe Care System is a trailblazing innovation in home shoe care that offers users an all-in-one shoe care solution, enabling them to deodorize, dehumidify and dry shoes with a single convenient device.

• WA8500V Front Load Washer – Samsung’s latest front load washer not only offers users a laundry experience that is both personalized and powerful – thanks to its large capacity and wide range of wash cycle options, including Super Speed – it also offers advanced Wi-Fi connectivity and smart voice controls for ultimate usability.

Samsung’s memory solutions were also honored with a number of awards. This year’s winners include the Samsung Portable SSD T7 Touch, an external storage drive featuring significantly enhanced speed and security; the Samsung SSD 980 PRO, a consumer SSD solution that’s optimized for high-end PCs; and the PM1733 30.72TB PCle Gen4 NVMe SSD, the industry’s fastest and largest capacity storage drive, developed for next-generation datacenters and enterprise server systems.

Many of the innovative products covered in this article are currently on display at this year’s CES, alongside a wide range of products from across Samsung’s mobile ecosystem. These include the category-defining Galaxy Fold – recognized for its innovative materials and technologies – and the Galaxy Note10/Note10+ – the latest power devices in Samsung’s Note series, designed to help users do more of what they love. The Galaxy Note10+ 5G received its CES^® 2020 Best of Innovation award based on the sheer power it offers users with its best-in-class specs, features and network speeds. Throughout 2018, the washing machine has continued to garner recognition for its powerful washing performance and was recently honored as 2018’s Large Home Appliance of the Year by British evaluator, Trusted Reviews.

Innovative Performance for Long-lasting Efficiency

QuickDrive reduces washing time by half without compromising washing performance, ensuring a thorough yet gentle clean. Unlike conventional washing machines that move clothes from top to bottom, QuickDrive has a main drum and a back plate that rotate independently, moving clothes dynamically around the drum in multiple directions, resulting in a full clean.

The performance of QuickDrive is guaranteed with over 150 durability and functionality tests. This attention to detail can be observed in Samsung’s quality assurance campaign, “From Lab to Life,” which demonstrates how the tests in the laboratory aid product longevity and efficiency in the home. The array of tests includes a “heat test,” which evaluates the components’ abilities to withstand extreme temperatures and a “slam test,” which repeatedly slams the door 20,000 times to ensure it can withstand frequent usage. Consumers have responded positively to the campaign, noting that it offers real information on machine testing, a topic that other campaigns in this category rarely touch upon.

Samsung products are more than just durable—they are designed to operate seamlessly in the home on a day-to-day basis. The tests that Samsung performs on its washing machines are intended to guarantee optimum performance and exceptional quality assurance in the home.

Award-winning Appliances

As Samsung remains committed to innovation and quality assurance, the company has received recognition from several awarding bodies. Earlier this year, Samsung was awarded the title ‘Large Appliance Brand of the Year’ by a leading consumer association in the U.K. In France, QuickDrive won the Best Washing Machine award, presented by tech and electronics magazine, Les Numériques. The washing machine’s leadership in laundry innovation was also noted earlier this year at the CES Innovation Awards. Trusted Reviews said they could barely praise QuickDrive enough, and that QuickDrive was the washing machine to beat thanks to its incredibly low running costs and great cleaning performance.

QuickDrive contributed to Samsung’s achieving the highest growth among the top 10  brands in the European washing machine market in the first half of this year compared to the same period in 2017. In addition, since the washing machine’s launch in Southeast Asia earlier in 2018, Samsung’s premium washing machine sales have increased by double-digits compared to the previous year in the Southeast Asian market.
