Pantai Mek Mas in the East Coast state of Kelantan is a location to experience blue tranquility – from nasi kerabu to azure skies. There are many angles you can explore at the beachside. You can shoot on level ground and capture minimalist vistas of just sand and sky, because sometimes less is more! Climb to the top of the sand dunes for a high angle shot overlooking the slice of life below. Make use of the 200MP camera to capture tiny people at a distance for a whimsical effect.

When you let your camera run on 8K resolution video from sun up to sun down, you won’t miss a single detail of your day. This is especially great for fast action shots, like a game of beach volleyball and frisbee or birds diving into the water to catch fish. To inspire you on your quest, here are some pro tips to perfectly capture hidden gems and share those ‘wish you were here’ moments with others.

Encore Melaka is an architectural wonder in Malaysia’s southern historical state. With its stark, white structure, you can jazz up your compositions with colourful outfits and props for contrast. To add a splash of colour, snap in Portrait Mode on your Galaxy S23 Ultra, then go crazy with background effects during editing. You can turn the Encore from white to neon pink, to sunset, to rainbow!

Turn on the grid lines in your camera settings to apply the rule of thirds for better framing, especially in achieving symmetry in your photos. But rules in art are meant to be broken, so experiment with new perspectives – go from shooting symmetrical photos, to tilting your camera at a 45-degree angle. Try aiming your camera from a low angle to make your subject or building structures appear taller. It’s all about perspective

Another trick to capturing the perfect moment is to snap as many photos as possible. But if you don’t want keep clicking the shutter, then just shoot a video for continuous content and use Video Capture to screenshot your favourite frame as a photo. Shoot in the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s 8K mode to get the highest resolution possible. Even when you crop the shot and zoom in later, it will maintain the image’s high quality.

Going from minimalist white to natural landscapes in the Land below the Wind, you can play with a whole different range of camera features. Crystal Hill in Kundasang, Sabah, offers a stunning vantage point to capture distant dots of life and activity below. Use the Expert RAW app for a wide range of advanced editing tools and be able to tweak RAW files.

At Desa Farm, get close-ups of pastures and aww-dorable cows using the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s 200MP resolution. One tip is to use fences as leading lines to frame your pictures. Want to put the spotlight on a subject amid a busy background? Switch to Portrait Mode, which will define the lines of your subject, while naturally blurring the background.

Lighting is everything in photography! Memorialise the beautiful beach sunset and silhouettes of your subjects at Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu, with the optimum exposure with a white balance setting of 5600K and ISO 50.

The Parc in Nilai Impian, Negeri Sembilan, is a wondrous maze of mirrors that gives you the setup to see double, triple, or a hundred of you, even if you’re travelling alone! If you’re snapping pictures by yourself, bring a tripod for your phone. You can use the S Pen as a camera remote control to start clicking away. Set it to 200MP to get the highest quality, let the camera work it, and choose the one you like best. Find the subject you’d like to focus on and then crop the rest out. Even after zooming in, your photo will remain sharp.

Over at the hillside township of Bukit Antarabangsa in Ampang, Selangor, you can “see the line where there sky hits the green, it calls meee” ♩♪♫♬ Standing at the view point, you’re greeted by a vast expanse of rolling green. For that, the 200MP will do justice to your landscape pictures.

With a little bit of help using the Expert RAW app, you can adjust the best settings for your surroundings or to portray the ambiance you want. Try setting ISO 100, shutter speed 1/2000, focus centre, and white balance 5800K. Another tip is to shoot underexposed shots to get all the details in the picture.

One trick to capture it in Portrait Mode is to divide the frame to 2 or 3 sections, so that you get a layered look for the image. Again it’s time to get zooming – for example, you spot a rare bird in your shot; even after zooming in 200%, every detail, like its colour and feathers will remain crisp. If you want a person to be in the shot, use Portrait Mode again to get the best image. Experiment with the lighting to highlight their facial features.

However, back in the city, it’s difficult to get a background that’s all one hue and undisturbed, so your subject may get lost in the mess. Our pro tip to work with a busy background is to use Portrait Mode and stand as close to the camera as possible, so that you stand out. Make it more artistic and inject more emotion by changing your background effect. Choose from Studio, High-Key Mono, Blur and more, and adjust the strength of effect.

The tropical charms of Sungai Tua Eco Forest Park in Selangor are plentiful, so if you’re not sure what to focus on, don’t stress it. Just switch to 8K video mode and let the recording run as you explore. That way, you won’t miss anything or tire your finger out from snapping. Don’t move too stiffly or try to straighten your phone. Just walk and sway naturally, so that your camera captures a variety of angles – up, down, sideways, or tilted. Later, click the screenshot icon on the bottom left corner to select the frame you want. The image quality captured in 8K is as clear as taking a photo, including zooming in.
