Samsung Electronics is the world’s best brand among global consumers, according to YouGov’s Best Global Brands 2025 rankings.

This marks the second year in a row that Samsung has topped the rankings. After placing fourth in 2017, the company consistently finished within the top 4 on YouGov’s yearly lists before ranking second in 2021 and first in 2022. Only two of this year’s top 10 global brands originate from Asia, including Samsung.

* YouGov did not publish a Global Top 10 list in its Best Global Brands rankings in 2023 and 2024.

The YouGov Best Global Brand 2025 rankings draw on more than 1 million consumer surveys across 28 markets to identify the best-performing global and national brands. Respondents are asked their opinions of thousands of brands, rating them on six key attributes: Impression, Quality, Value, Customer Satisfaction, Reputation and Recommendation.

“Brands have never been more important — and in today’s dynamic marketplace, where consumer sentiment can make or break a company’s success, understanding brand perception is imperative,” said YouGov CEO Steve Hatch.

Back in October 2024, Samsung was recognized by Interbrand as a “Global Top 5” brand for the fifth consecutive year on the global brand consultancy’s annual “Best Global Brands” rankings. Samsung’s brand value surpassed the $100 billion mark for the first time on last year’s list, and Interbrand mainly attributed this to the expansion of Samsung’s portfolio of products infused with AI technologies, substantial consumer benefits derived from increased device connectivity and the company’s ongoing commitment to a more sustainable future.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today was recognized by Interbrand, a global brand consultancy, as a “Global Top 5” brand for the fourth year in a row. Interbrand releases its list of “Best Global Brands” each year, and on this year’s list, it was revealed that Samsung’s brand value reached $91.4 billion and grew by 4% year-on-year.

Samsung’s brand value increased across all business areas in 2023 despite sluggish demand in the global IT industry. According to Interbrand, Samsung Electronics’ evaluation was positively influenced by the following:

Consistent company-wide improvement of the customer experience based on the “One Samsung” strategy.

The increased level of connectivity and enhanced gaming experiences through the company’s wide-ranging product portfolio and SmartThings.

The company’s role as a leader in future innovative technologies such as 6G, artificial intelligence (AI), automotive, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR).

Consistent actions to strengthen ESG leadership through eco-conscious activities across all product lines.

“Thanks to the support of our customers around the world, Samsung Electronics’ brand value has continued to grow steadily, despite an overall challenging business environment,” said YH Lee, President of the Global Marketing Office at Samsung Electronics. “We will always strive to be a brand that is loved by our customers through leading in technology innovation, enabling meaningful experiences and continuing our sustainability efforts.”

Brand Value Driven by SmartThings, Gaming Experience, Industry-Leading Innovations, and ESG Leadership

Late last year, Samsung Electronics established the Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) Center under the Global Marketing Office to provide an integrated online and offline experience. The company also has the CX-MDE Center — which is responsible for strengthening the multi-device experience — to increase synergy between products and improve the overall customer experience.

Partnerships were also a major factor that drove Samsung’s brand value over the past year. Based on SmartThings, which provides a unified connectivity experience, Samsung is further strengthening its open partnerships to connect not only its own products but also various third-party devices. In addition, the partnerships with various companies across mobile, tablet, TV, PC and monitor products provide customers with an optimized gaming experience.

Samsung continues to invest in leading future technologies such as 5G/6G, AI and automotive that will enable and empower the consumers of tomorrow. In the semiconductor sector, the company was recognized for its industry-first innovations such as 12nm-class DDR5 DRAM and for actively addressing the promising industries from AI to automotive and advanced mobile devices.

ESG has been a major focal point, as the company’s eco-conscious activities are making an impact. Samsung’s efforts include increasing the usage of recycled materials, such as plastics from discarded fishing nets, glass and aluminum in Galaxy S23 and Galaxy Z Flip5ㆍFold5 series, open licensing of solar cell remote technology used in TVs, working together with Patagonia on the Less Microfiber Filter for washing machines and introducing AI energy mode in SmartThings Energy.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced that it had reaffirmed its position as a top-five brand in Interbrand’s Best Global Brands 2021.

According to the Best Global Brands list, announced by the global consulting firm Interbrand on October 20 2021, Samsung ranked fifth with a brand value of USD 74.6 billion, a 20% increase compared to last year. On the back of its strong financial performance, which has recovered to reach pre-pandemic levels, the company’s brand value surged by 20% this year, twice the average brand value growth rate among the top 100 brands in 2021.

Since entering the top five for the first time last year, Samsung has maintained its position for two consecutive years with its largest increase in brand value since 2013.

According to Interbrand, major factors that played a critical role in Samsung’s growth include:

Its transition to a customer-centric management system, highlighted by the establishment of a new CX (customer experience) team dedicated to prioritising customer experience and values.

Its ongoing efforts for sustainable development, including various campaigns guided by its CSR vision, ‘Together for Tomorrow! Enabling People,’ as well as company-wide initiatives that promote sustainability, such as the use of eco-packaging for TVs and the Galaxy Upcycling programme.

The launches of innovative products including the Galaxy Z Flip 3, Neo QLEDs, and the Bespoke lineup of home appliances.

Leading the development of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), 5G, automotive, and robotics through consistent investment.

“It is very encouraging to see Samsung Electronics reach the top five in the world last year and then achieve enormous double-digit growth this year—our biggest leap in brand value since 2013,” said YH Lee, CMO of Samsung Electronics. “We promise to leverage our customer-centric management model to keep listening to our customers. This is how we will repay the massive support we have received from customers around the globe.”

Interbrand evaluates businesses’ brand value based on a comprehensive analysis of multiple factors including financial performance, brand influence on purchase, and brand competitiveness.

Meanwhile, on October 12, Samsung was also ranked No.1 by Forbes as the World’s Best Employers 2021 for the second consecutive year. As a global organisation with employees and businesses around the world, Samsung has, once again, been chosen as the number one employer.

Each year, Forbes surveys around 150,000 employees from 58 countries working for businesses with operations in multiple nations or regions, and this year asked respondents to rank their satisfaction with their employers’ COVID-19 responses and score their employers on image, economic footprint, talent development, gender equality and social responsibility.

Samsung Electronics announced today that it has become number five in the Best Global Brands 2020 list announced by Interbrand, a global brand consulting company, with its largest-ever brand value of USD 62.3 billion.

Despite the challenging business environment brought on global companies by COVID-19 in 2020, Samsung saw a 2% rise in brand value from USD 61.1 billion in 2019 to USD 62.3 billion this year. Samsung ascended to the global top five in three years after reaching number six in the list of Best Global Brands 2017.

The company has been recording consistent growth in terms of brand value since starting in 43rd place in 2000 when Interbrand began publishing the Best Global Brands. Since entering the top ten with a number nine rank in 2012, Samsung has continued its steady climb, reaching 6th place in 2017 and 5th place in 2020. Samsung’s move upwards in Interbrand’s list of 100 most valuable brands in the world was backed by the continuous introduction of innovative products and implementation of broad marketing activities on the global stage.

Response to COVID-19, CSR, innovation in lifestyle-related products and continued investment in future growth engines drive brand value

According to Interbrand, major factors that played a critical role in Samsung’s growth were:

Rapid response to COVID-19 through global activities for corporate social responsibility (CSR) and integrated global campaign

Company-wide activities dedicated to sustainable development

Continuous launch of innovative products including Galaxy Fold, The Terrace and BESPOKE refrigerator

Consistent investment to lead the development of advanced technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), 5G and Internet of Things (IoT)

In response to COVID-19 repercussions, Samsung Electronics has made multiple donations according to country-specific needs to help communities overcome difficulties. Samsung also successfully ran a global campaign with the message, “Get through this together” on social media channels and outdoor billboards in Times Square in New York, Piccadilly Circus in London, Duomo di Milano in Italy and the Entertainment Building of Hong Kong as part of its endeavors to engage and communicate with consumers in difficult times. Additionally, Samsung garnered positive feedback with a campaign where photos and stories submitted by consumers through social media were collected and made into video ads for outdoor display to cheer up consumers around the world. The COVID-19 campaigns were launched in tandem with ongoing campaigns for Samsung’s CSR vision, Enabling People, and various education programs for future generations, such as Solve for Tomorrow, Smart School and Innovation Campus.

Samsung’s devotion to sustainability in all aspects of business management also contributed to a boost in brand value, as demonstrated by the eco-friendly packaging for Samsung TVs and smartphone cases utilizing recycled materials.

Above all, unwavering efforts to achieve innovation despite challenges posed by COVID-19 were among the main contributors that drove the company’s growth into the top 5.

Samsung’s Mobile Communications business has solidified its leadership in the 5G smartphone market and resonated with Generation Z with the Galaxy A series and marketing activities such as the Awesome campaign. The company also demonstrated continued innovation by creating a new product category with the introduction of the Galaxy Z Flip. In the network business, Samsung has established its position as a leader in 5G, by pioneering new markets and expanding partnerships with businesses in key markets such as the US and Japan.

In the Visual Display business, Samsung has been leading the TV industry by launching of cutting-edge products that reflect new consumer lifestyles such as The Sero and The Terrace. Samsung has also continued efforts for sustainability in this sector, introducing products that improve accessibility for the disabled and users with color vision deficiency, and launching the eco-friendly packaging project.

In digital appliances, Samsung continued product innovation to suit changing customers lifestyles with the BESPOKE refrigerator and Grande AI washer and dryer. Its campaigns for customer-relevant topics such as cooking, sports, interior design and pet care contributed to closer communication with customers.

In the Memory business in particular, Samsung announced Vision 2030 as a solid number one in the market. Samsung became the first company in the world to produce the EUV-based DRAM and has been continuously making investments in HBM2E Flashbolt applied with AI, automotive parts, IoT, AI and 5G for years. The expansion of work-at-home measures resulting in growing demand for server and cloud services is expected to increase sales of DRAM and NAND flash chips. In system LSI, the company continued technological innovation and investment for Exynos and ISOCELL, and reinforced cooperation with major partners such as Audi.

“We started at number 43 with a brand value of USD 5.2 billion in 2000. This year, we stand among the top five with a brand value of USD 62.3 billion, which is a great accomplishment,” said YH Lee, CMO of Samsung Electronics. “We couldn’t have made the achievement without the support of our customers around the world. To further enhance our global status, we will continue to engage and communicate with consumers.”

Interbrand evaluates the brand value of businesses based on a comprehensive analysis of multiple factors including financial performance, brand influence on purchase and brand competitiveness.

Samsung Electronics announced today that it has maintained the number six rank in Interbrand’s “Best Global Brands 2019” list with a brand value of $61.1 billion – achieving a two percent increase in brand value.

Major factors that played a critical role in Samsung’s growth were:

• Continuous launches of innovative products that suit consumers’ new lifestyle, trends, and needs including the BESPOKE refrigerator, Sero TV, and Galaxy Fold

• Strong growth potential based on future innovation technologies including 5G, AI, IoT and the automotive business

• Global number one position in the semiconductor memory market and technology leadership in the industry

Samsung’s mobile business has kept up with successful launches in the Galaxy series. The company led the industry in the foldable smartphones category by launching Galaxy Fold, and continued its effort in resonating with consumers with Samsung’s brand story “Do What You Can’t”. Its visual display business, a market leader for 13 consecutive years, not only provided new viewing experiences for consumers through QLED 8K and MicroLED displays, but also further reflected consumers’ lifestyles by introducing The Sero, The Frame and The Serif. In digital appliances, Samsung has maintained its premium market leadership position in both refrigerators and washing machines and went on to release innovative new products with differentiated consumer benefits such as BESPOKE.

Spearheading advanced 5G technology, Samsung launched its first 5G smartphone. Its 5G technology also assumes a significant role in making AI and IoT more tangible and realizable. It has also accelerated the autonomous vehicle era with its incomparable speed.

Samsung’s semiconductor memory business reinforced its market presence this year by beginning mass production of the industry’s first 12-gigabit (Gb) LPDDR5 mobile DRAM and its sixth-generation V-NAND which features the industry’s first 100+ layer single-stack design. Furthermore, Samsung has been continuously investing in R&D and expanding production facilities in the system semiconductor field.

Samsung’s market leadership and investment in innovation also contributed to this year’s successful evaluation. The company’s investments were not limited to in-house R&D, but also included efforts to expand its product ecosystem through strategic partnerships, as well as investment in startups that have cultivated new business opportunities in a variety of fields, including the automotive industry.

“We are excited that our constant efforts to provide meaningful innovations that delight consumers and help them live better lives have been well received,” said YH Lee, CMO of Samsung Electronics. “To further enhance our brand, we will continue to listen and learn from our consumers as well as lead changes in society through innovation, so that we can all thrive together.”

Following this year’s announcement of Interbrand’s Best Global Brands, the Best Global Brands summit will be held in New York City on October 23.

Samsung Electronics announced today that it has maintained the number six rank in Interbrand’s “Best Global Brands 2018” list with a brand value of $59.9 billion – achieving a 6.5 percent increase in brand value.

Major factors that played a critical role in Samsung’s success were told as:

Continued launch of human-driven innovations including the Galaxy Note9 smartphone, Quick Drive washing machine and large screen customizable TV The Wall

Alignment and deployment of the newly established brand strategy to offer a continued brand experience to consumers

Innovative technology that is meaningful to people and enhanced brand competitiveness were assessed as key success factors in this year’s evaluation. Samsung continued its efforts to shift consumers’ perception of Samsung as a more emotive, human centric brand. This was showcased in Samsung’s various marketing activities, including Samsung Galaxy Unpacked, to highlight human-driven innovations and brand purpose.

Samsung’s semiconductor business reinforced its market leadership this year, demonstrating another year of significant growth.

Samsung Electronics announced today that it has been ranked No.6 on Interbrand’s “Best Global Brands 2017” list with a brand value of $56.2 billion – one position up and a 9 percent increase from last year.

As it has made continual strides as a global company, Samsung has ranked as one of the top 10 brands on the Interbrand rankings from 2012 to 2017, demonstrating continual growth in brand value.

This year’s achievement is particularly meaningful given some of the challenges that Samsung has faced, and overcome, in the past year. For example, Interbrand, in its evaluation, cited among various factors, Samsung’s exemplary, fast recovery from last year’s Galaxy Note7 crisis, the company’s successful launches of flagship products, and its continued stellar financial performance.

In particular, Samsung’s mobile business reconfirmed its market leadership through the successful launch of the Galaxy S8. Samsung’s memory division also performed strongly, with its record profits contributing to the rise in brand value. Samsung’s digital appliances business introduced innovative and award-winning new products, developed from deep consumer insights, like the Family Hub refrigerator and AddWash washing machine. Samsung’s visual display division also broke new ground in the TV market with the new QLED TV as well as The Frame, a new lifestyle TV for the home.

“Our efforts to make meaningful progress to improve people’s lives contributed to the rise in brand value,” said YH Lee, CMO of Samsung Electronics. “Our ranking this year is a positive sign that demonstrates our efforts to regain trust have resonated with global consumers.”

This year’s Interbrand’s Best Global Brands will be announced at the World Trade Center in New York City on September 27.
