The company is showcasing a range of home appliances and products at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) 2019, which hosts over 600 exhibitors from home appliance brands around the world as they display their flagship products, enlivened with insights garnered from interior design experts, product designers and the media. Samsung’s booth embraces this year’s millennial lifestyle trends and demonstrates a deep consideration for its consumers.

Three key elements have emerged as the defining trends of 2019, as the company spotlights a new shift in colors, its commitment to the principles of flat design and a range of built-in packages that suit any lifestyle.

#Colors to Warm the Home

The modern home is warm and inviting, with hues that hold a hint of understated luxury. In keeping with this theme, Samsung has introduced new product colors that bring a comforting glow to the home.

In addition to classic Black Stainless Steel and White versions available for both Front Load and Top Load Washers, the Front Load version is also offered in a beautiful, new Champagne finish. This sleek satin tone complements and brightens any laundry area, with a touch of minimalist beauty that blends seamlessly into its surroundings.  

Samsung’s Tuscan Stainless Steel built-in products and kitchen packages are designed to accentuate the warm, social kitchen with their welcoming color. The package’s natural tones, neutral bronze hue and serene textured finishing evoke an elegance and sophistication which seamlessly integrates into any style of kitchen.

Samsung AirDressers likewise radiate warmth. Their mirror and glass exteriors are finished in Gold Mirror and Classic White, with their different textures deepening the sense of the AirDresser as an atmospheric extension of the space it occupies.

The Foundations of #FlatDesign

As people seek to create spaces that make a real difference in their lives, Samsung thinks deeply about consumers during the design process, listening carefully to their needs to shape a new aesthetic.

With the space constraints of modern homes prompting a new decluttering movement, today’s homeowners are drawn to the smooth and clean lines that have long captivated industrial designers. Consumers are seeking appliances that have seamless built-in finishes and harmonize with the rest of their interior design.

Samsung is informed by the principles of “Flat Design”, a minimalist approach that maximizes usability and minimizes unnecessary aspects, throughout a range of appliances. Flat design is underpinned by the use of hidden displays, recessed handles and minimal dispensers, with a precision engineered flat face that sits flush to the counter front. These features are reflected in a wide variety of appliances at KBIS 2019, such as Flat door featured in French Refrigerator Samsung’s RF8000, creating harmony with the space it occupies. The aesthetic offers an uninterrupted, clean line that extends throughout the rest of the kitchen, with a seamless built-in finish.

Your Home, Your Lifestyle #Built_In

For many households, the kitchen is the hub of the home and finding the perfect kitchen to suit individual needs has emerged as strong priority. Customizability and flexibility in design gives home owners and builders the freedom to create truly personal kitchens.

Samsung’s built-in kitchen packages are built to fit any lifestyle, offering a diverse selection of designs that complement a range of kitchen sizes and shapes.

Leading American luxury home appliance brand, Dacor, is exploring the culture of modern-day entertaining and demonstrating how Dacor products can be integrated and tailored to fit a variety of lifestyles, in an immersive journey entitled: ‘A Tale of Three Parties’. The booth will highlight the brand’s stainless-steel Heritage collection with a brunch setting in the Farm-To-Table Room.

The Gourmand Room features the stainless-steel Modernist collection in an elegant dinner party setting. Finally, a Speakeasy space will display the flourish of the sleek Modernist collection in graphite stainless-steel.

The exhibition will reveal the company’s vision for the future, with a range of cutting-edge lifestyle concepts on display. At the event, Samsung is unveiling the newest addition to its intelligent robotic Bots lineup, alongside several devices first showcased in January at CES 2019.

Samsung Bot Chef

We can all appreciate an extra pair of hands in the kitchen, sharing the burden of the laborious and repetitive tasks that go into creating delicious meals. First unveiled at KBIS 2019, Samsung Bot Chef is an AI-powered chef’s assistant – a “cobot”, or collaborative robot – that assists them as they whip up gourmet dishes. Bot Chef is designed to be easy to use and highly versatile, with a sleek exterior that hides its advanced mechatronics.

Bot Chef is optimized for kitchen use and is capable of a wide range of kitchen tasks – from chopping and whisking, to pouring and cleaning. Based on SARAM, Samsung’s multi-purpose programmable robotic platform, the lightweight robotic manipulator arm has six degrees of freedom, with the diameter, reach and safety of a human arm. This allows it to perform with a payload just enough to lift common, everyday kitchen items, making it ideal for homes and small businesses. With advanced internal and external sensors and AI-based planning algorithms, the Bot Chef works alongside a person safely, even when they get in each other’s way.

Users can interact with the robotic arm using simple and intuitive voice commands. Meanwhile, the underlying AI and machine-learning skills platform allows users to easily program tasks to perform using voice control, physical manipulation and app-based controls, thereby creating new “skills”. New skills can also be downloaded, customized and shared as part of the online ecosystem, providing endless possibilities in the kitchen. To stir a pot of soup, for example, a user can download the “stirring” skill from the skills ecosystem. Bot Chef can autonomously understand the location of objects, so the user can tell it where to find the spoon, and which pot to stir.

Chef Garden

Many cooks will tell you that there is a certain kind of joy that only fresh, locally sourced ingredients can bring. When it comes to fruit and vegetables, the freshest and most flavorful are home-grown. Chef Garden, debuting at KBIS 2019, aims to provide a farm-to-table experience in the comfort of your own home, with an AI farming platform that effortlessly produces fresh, pesticide-free fruit and vegetables all year round.

Chef Garden integrates seamlessly with the next generation of Samsung Family Hub, using the power and water connections already provided to the refrigerator. To grow their plants, users can choose from a wide variety of seed capsules and place them in the Growing Zone, which applies fogponics technology to create a nutrient fog that delivers water and nutrients to the plants, saving water and keeping the inside of the Growing Zone clean. Chef Garden can control conditions to ensure an optimal environment for growth, making predictions about growth status and controlling harvest time. Thanks to its integration with Family Hub, the platform can also recommend recipes based on the fruit and vegetables that are ready to harvest, as well as the items already in the fridge, helping to minimize waste.

GEMS: Gait Enhancing and Muscle Strengthening

Our bodies are our true homes – and strong muscles are vital to ensure these homes run smoothly. Samsung GEMS was originally developed to help the elderly improve their mobility by applying assistive forces to their lower-limb joints, synchronized with their movements. GEMS has three versions, each assisting a different joint: GEMS-H, GEMS-K and GEMS-A target the hip, knee and ankle, respectively.

In-depth clinical studies for GEMS-H have shown that it can enhance the gait efficiency and stability resulting in more dynamic and balanced walking, as well as a dramatic reduction in energy consumption. With these insights, we decided to expand the scope of its applications from rehabilitation alone to providing proactive musculoskeletal healthcare for everyday users. GEMS-K was designed to reduce the impactive load at the knee joint, the main cause of knee pain when standing up or walking on the stairs. It is expected that it will provide particular relief to osteoarthritis patients as they perform their daily tasks. GEMS-A was devised to support the ankle joint, assisting push-off as the user moves forward and preventing foot-drop, thus helping those who are suffering from hemiplegia caused by stroke aftereffects.

The GEMS series is subject to continuous innovation, with constant improvements in comfort, affordability and personalization, thanks to a synergetic fusion of cutting-edge technologies in robotics, biomechanics and AI.

Samsung Bot Air and Bot Clean

Housework can seem like a never-ending task. What’s more, you might move your air purifier from room to room without knowing if you are targeting the right location or vacuum the same spot repeatedly while missing those hard-to-reach corners.

Making use of sensors throughout the house to gauge air quality, the Samsung Bot Air will move directly to the source of unclean air and begin purifying the area. Users can see the real-time improvement of indoor air quality through its intuitive lighting effects, which go from red for bad air quality to green for fresh air. Taking cleaning to the next level, the Bot Clean is an intelligent and interactive robotic vacuum cleaner that was newly revealed at KBIS 2019. The device can express its current status using its motions and eyes and utilizes LiDAR sensors to navigate a room autonomously, with SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) functionality that scans the area to map out its route.

Samsung Electronics today announced that it will showcase its 2019 Home Appliance Innovations at the 2019 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas, NV.

Samsung changed the look of the kitchen when it introduced Black Stainless Steel, offering consumers a new stainless with cool tones and a sleek, modern look that quickly became the design trend of the modern kitchen. This year Samsung introduces the new neutral for 2019 – Tuscan Stainless. Inspired by warm, earthy tones, it combines a variety of natural hues for a warm grayish-bronze hue that blends seamlessly with any kitchen environment. Tuscan Stainless will be available across refrigerator, dishwasher, cooking and microwave oven models starting in May. A new Family Hub Refrigerator model in this new color will be available in August.

When it comes to laundry, no longer is the laundry room just a utility space, but a room where designers and homeowners carefully consider color, décor and functionality. Keeping with the warmer tones utilized by designers today, the new washers and dryers will be available in a stunning new champagne finish that turns the mundane laundry room into a space as beautiful and functional as the kitchen.

With Wi-Fi connectivity and new washing technology, Samsung’s new WF6300R Front Load Washer takes the guesswork out of laundry and delivers a more powerful and faster wash. Cleaning a full load in as little as 30 minutes, these new washers free up more time for consumers to focus on things that matter most to them. Wi-Fi capability allows for simple, laundry planning on the go – whether it’s turning on your washer from a mobile device outside of the home, setting up the washer so it completes its cycle just as you return home—or getting Laundry suggestions for specific garments, these new washers turn Wi-Fi connectivity into seamless simplicity.

The new Samsung WA5400R Top Load Washer utilizes a new drum design where the total vertical depth is shallower and the width is increased, so it’s easier to reach into the washer, without sacrificing capacity. The “Active Water Jet” feature allows users to pre-treat and hand wash right inside the machine. Users can even add water for larger loads at the push of a button.

In addition to the new Tuscan Stainless suite of appliances and new laundry innovations, Samsung’s luxury built-in Chef Collection will also be on display at the show and includes many of Samsung’s most advanced technologies. New to the Collection is the Chef Collection 36” Pro Range (NY36R9966). The Pro Range features cast iron grates, which go from edge to edge, and includes two brass burners. It has illuminated knobs in which distinctive blue lights are a unique touch to show that it is on. The Pro Range can also be paired with the new 36” Chef Collection hood (NK36R9600), which is Bluetooth enabled and automatically turns on the fan and adjusts its speed based on the heat coming from the cook surface. Its 22k BTU Dual Brass Power Burners offer intense heat and more precise control, for either a quick boil of water or a slow melt of chocolate. The 36″ Pro Ranges has capacity ranging from 5.9-6.3 cu. ft., both accommodating a commercial size cookie sheet.

All of these exciting product innovations will be on display at the Samsung Booth in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
