It is well known that it is dangerous to operate a smartphone while driving. However, research shows that two thirds of the Dutch feel pressured to respond immediately to messages – even when behind the wheel – and more than 70% of the people aged between 15 and 24 still call or send messages with their phones while in traffic, a quarter check their social media feed and almost one in five reply to a message while they drive.

In-Traffic Reply detects when you are behind the wheel or on your bike and automatically answers all incoming messages with your pre-determined personalized message while you’re driving. More than 100,000 Dutch people already have In-Traffic Reply on their phone. The focus, this year, is to encourage more people to actively use the solution.

Samsung Electronics, the Dutch government and other partners including ANWB, Veilig Verkeer Nederland and Fietsersbond will continue to support the MONO campaign to raise awareness and promote action against smartphone use while driving.

While majority of us only consider breaking away from the mundane cycle of our 9-5 desk jobs, a group of intrepid millennials are redefining what it means to embrace the present by seizing the proverbial bull by the horns and combining remote working and travel into an enviable lifestyle of exploration. This group, fondly known as digital nomads, are arguably the bravest and most exciting personalities to be associated with because they know exactly what they want to do and how they want to get it done. They are doers and challengers of the norm, and they explore interesting methods to push past barriers to achieve their goals. So what is it that makes the nomadic lifestyle viable? One word: technology.

Yes, while the improvement of internet speed, the appearance of co-working spaces, and the growing acceptance of remote work contracts between individuals and businesses attribute to the rising number of nomadic professionals, it is the advances in technology that make our world ever more interconnected and accessible. What digital nomads appreciate most is mobility – the ability to get things done from anywhere and at any time they see fit. Supporting the S Pen is the Infinity Display, a large bezel-free screen that allows digital nomads to see more and scroll less, giving them more room to watch, read, work and draw. It has a finer tip, improved pressure sensitivity³, and features that enable users to express themselves in ways that no other stylus or smartphone ever has.

When communicating with text just isn’t enough, Live Message allows you to reveal your unique personality and tell expressive stories. With the Galaxy Note8, you can now share animated texts or drawings across platforms that support animated GIFs ⁴. The Always On Display allows Galaxy users to stay on top of their notifications without unlocking their phone. And with the Galaxy Note8, it’s even more powerful. Screen off memo allows you to take up to one-hundred pages of notes as soon as you remove the S Pen, pin notes to the Always On Display and make edits directly from the Always On Display.

For overseas travels or when you come across a website in a foreign language, the improved S Pen Translate feature lets you hover over text to quickly translate not only individual words, but entire sentences in up to 71 languages, and instantly convert units and foreign currencies.
