In early October, Samsung Malaysia Electronics partnered with Atap.co, a homegrown interior design firm, to host an exclusive workshop for interior designers. The event, held at The Camellia in Gamuda Cove, showcased Samsung’s latest air conditioning products and featured an immersive session demonstrating how Samsung’s innovative, energy-efficient cooling solutions can complement smart living lifestyles for both new and existing homeowners.

Samsung’s BESPOKE AI Home, developed in partnership with Gamuda Land, highlights the fusion of modern living with cutting-edge technology and stylish design.

The collaboration also provides Malaysian interior designers the opportunity to view and fully immerse themselves in Samsung’s smart and stylish air conditioners whilst gaining a better understanding of how these products can be seamlessly integrated into contemporary smart homes designs.

The WindFree Air Conditioner, featured in the bedroom of the Samsung BESPOKE AI Home, is designed for optimal comfort. Powered by AI Auto-Cooling, this air conditioner intelligently adjusts room conditions based on your preferences. It offers multiple modes, including Fast Cooling and WindFree Cooling, which maintain a cool environment without direct wind, ideal for restful sleep. The air is gently dispersed through 23,000 micro holes, providing a breeze without the discomfort of direct drafts.

Equipped with a Tri-Care Filter, it captures fine dust and reduces certain viruses, bacteria, and allergens, ensuring hygiene. For easy maintenance, it also features Freeze Wash, which washes out dirt and dust inside the air conditioner at the press of a button, helping maintain optimal performance.

With a height of just 135mm, the design also maximizes ceiling height for a more open feel. Its 100mm blade rapidly cools the room in Fast Cooling mode, while WindFree Cooling mode provides a gentle breeze with no direct wind. Cool air is dispersed through 10,000 micro air holes, maintaining a comfortable temperature without feeling too hot or cold. In WindFree Cooling mode, the unit uses 55% less electricity[1] that offer energy saving in a spacious room.

Samsung Newsroom explored why this advanced air conditioning technology has been so well-received by global consumers.

A recent Samsung survey[2] of 1,840 respondents from Brazil, India, Italy, Korea, Thailand and the United States revealed that 44.6% (820) favor WindFree air conditioning. More than half of these users (58%) selected “comfortable sleep” as their primary reason for choosing WindFree air conditioning. The results indicate that a growing number of consumers expect air conditioners to go beyond traditional cooling functions to offer options fit for any situation.

In addition, the survey showed that air conditioners are most used before and after bedtime. Nearly half (48%) of respondents use their air conditioners from 9 p.m. to bedtime, followed by 42% during sleep.

The advanced structure of air conditioners with WindFree technology allows airflow to be evenly distributed through 270,000 micro air holes[3]. Once the room reaches a set temperature, the unit automatically switches to WindFree mode — gently cooling the space without the unpleasant sensation of cold air on skin — and creates optimal conditions for deep sleep.

“Energy savings compared to normal mode” was the second reason users preferred WindFree air conditioning. As energy savings gain interest in the face of climate change, the survey results indicate that WindFree technology addresses consumer demands for reduced electricity consumption.

In WindFree mode, electricity use is reduced by up to 77%[4] compared to maximum cooling environments, offering substantial savings on electricity bills during peak summer months.

Additionally, respondents chose WindFree air conditioning to ensure “even cooling” (50%), “minimizing physical irritation” (48%) and utilize “AI automatic cooling” (44%).
