Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced it has retained its position as the world’s No. 1 gaming monitor brand for the seventh consecutive year, continuing a run that started in 2019.

According to the latest data from International Data Corporation (IDC), Samsung captured 18.9% of the global gaming monitor market by revenue,[1] reinforcing its leadership in high-performance gaming displays. Samsung also ranked first in the OLED gaming monitor segment for the third consecutive year, achieving a 26% market share.[2]

“As the No. 1 gaming monitor brand, our goal is to continue leading the market with differentiated innovation,” said Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Strong partnerships with game studios guide our innovation, while a clear technology roadmap keeps us focused. By expanding our gaming library and broadening platform compatibility, we’re delivering displays that perform when it matters most to gamers.”

“In gaming, the smallest difference makes all the difference,” said e-sports star Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok of T1. “Being No. 1 for seven consecutive years shows that so many of us choose Samsung for a reason. I’m excited to see what innovative gaming technologies Samsung will bring next to help us perform at our best.”

Samsung’s sustained leadership reflects its focus on next-generation gaming monitor technology and immersive gaming experiences. That momentum was recently on display at GDC 2026 in San Francisco, where Samsung showcased its latest Odyssey line-up, giving developers a first-hand look at glasses-free 3D and HDR10+ GAMING. The 2026 Odyssey line-up[3] includes the following models:

Samsung Electronics has announced that its security solution, Samsung Knox, has achieved Common Criteria (CC) certification for monitors, expanding the verified security it has maintained on smart TVs for a decade.

CC certification is a global standard used to assess the security integrity of products that need data protection, providing an international framework that consolidates various assessment criteria from different countries and facilitates mutual recognition. Since 2015, Samsung has consistently received CC certification for its new products to verify the reliability of its security technology, and with this latest achievement, it has become the first manufacturer to receive CC certification for both monitors and smart TVs.

“Connected displays have become central to how we work and live, making verified security essential,” said Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President of Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “With Samsung Knox now certified on both smart TVs and monitors, we’re delivering that protection consistently across our products.”

Samsung Knox protects users from cyber threats such as hacking, particularly in areas requiring robust security like AI home control, AI voice recognition and credit card transactions.

The CC certification emphasises three key security features of Samsung Knox:

System Integrity Monitor (SIM): Provides real-time monitoring of the kernel to ensure system integrity.

Web Browser Security (WBS): Blocks phishing websites to safeguard users while browsing the internet.

Unauthorised Execution Prevention (UEP): Validates digital signatures to prevent unauthorised actions.

Samsung Knox also ensures a strong security environment with its multi-layered architecture, which includes TrustZone, a hardware-based independent security layer; Knox Vault, a separate layer for sensitive data; and Knox Matrix, a security management layer for connected devices[1].

[1] Knox Vault is supported on select Neo QLED 8K TVs and M9, M8 monitors; Knox Matrix is supported on all TVs and monitors from 2024 onward.

Samsung Electronics Singapore has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Metro (Private) Limited to drive retail transformation for the departmental store’s Paragon branch. Metro intends to leverage Samsung’s advanced technologies to support its ongoing retail transformation initiatives. This includes implementing large-format digital signage solutions and optimising operations using Samsung SmartThings Pro, an integrated business solution platform, alongside MagicINFO, a comprehensive content management system.

In the coming months, 12 large-format digital signages will be introduced across three floors of Metro Paragon. These will replace conventional, lower-resolution LED and LCD displays. Shoppers will also be able to experience Samsung’s wide portfolio of devices and see how they can be integrated in their households for more intuitive living experiences.

Mr. Erwin Wuysang-Oei, Chief Executive Officer of Metro (Private) Limited and Mr. Jeffrey Hahn, President, Samsung Electronics Singapore at an earlier MoU signing event

“Shoppers are invested in experiential moments when they visit a departmental store today. It is a venue for discovery and experiences, and Metro hopes to excite shoppers with our retail transformation efforts that are engaging, while helping shoppers uncover new brands to connect with. In parallel, we want our investments to help us optimise our operations and drive greater value for our brand in the long run. We are delighted to be working with Samsung where we can lean on their advanced digital capabilities to bring our vision to life,” said Mr. Erwin Wuysang-Oei, Chief Executive Officer of Metro (Private) Limited.

“Metro had a clear vision with how they wanted to elevate retail experience in the heart of Orchard Road. We saw the opportunity to partner with the team on evolving customer experiences, as well as to help the store be more efficient in managing their suite of devices, so that operational processes such as monitoring of energy consumption and content management for digital signages can be better optimised. With SmartThings Pro and MagicINFO, the Metro team can lean on smart insights and manage connected devices easily and securely on our platform.” said Mr. Jeffrey Hahn, President, Samsung Electronics Singapore.

Metro SLEEPLAB to feature largest deployment of indoor Samsung LED screen

At the newly opened 10,000 sq ft SLEEPLAB, shoppers are greeted with a 60.72m U-shaped Samsung IEA Series commercial LED screen (IE025A LED signage), which wraps three sides of the show floor. This is also the largest indoor retail deployment of the IEA Series screen within an indoor retail environment in Singapore. Pave System, a leading audio-visual system integration firm, led the deployment of this setup for the zone.

SLEEPLAB is part of Metro’s retail transformation efforts to better engage shoppers by creating an immersive space for shoppers seeking a perfect sleep experience with the right mattress, pillows and bedding. The space evokes sensory experiences across sight, smell and touch, helping shoppers envision how a good night sleep could potentially feel like.

Metro’s SLEEPLAB features the largest indoor retail deployment of a Samsung IEA Series commercial LED screen, which wraps three sides of the show floor

Metro worked with South Korea’s Habitant to create “Seven Chapters of Sleep”, a 15-minute digital art film that takes advantage of the unique screen set up and advanced LED HDR (High Dynamic Range) feature to create an immersive dreamscape for shoppers as they try out the beddings in the area.

The film brings shoppers through everyday blooms, to the vastness of oceans, and into outer space – which demonstrates the deep and restful sleep experience every individual may encounter. It features ambient audio pieces specially composed to create a soothing environment as shoppers try out mattresses and bedding to find their perfect sleep setup.

Smarter retail operations with SmartThings Pro and MagicINFO

SLEEPLAB’s digital experiences are centrally managed by SmartThings Pro and MagicINFO, where conditions within the space can be automatically adjusted based on preset routines and instructions.

SmartThings Pro is an integrated business solution platform that helps organisations centrally manage their connected devices, monitor energy consumption, as well as help trigger real-time alerts based on AI diagnostics. The goal is to help Metro achieve up to 30% energy savings[1], with plans to expand the use of the platform across all supported devices across its three floors at Paragon.

Content for the large-form display can also be centrally managed via MagicINFO, a content management platform that allows Metro to quickly create, upload and manage digital signages. This enables the team to push out promotional content more effectively, and from a virtual location, rather than manually updating individual signages.

In the coming months, shoppers will also be able to try out a connected Samsung experience with the introduction of Galaxy Watch and the Bespoke AirDresser at the space. With Galaxy Watch, shoppers can understand how they can potentially track and improve their sleep quality with the help of Samsung Health, along with a suitable bed and healthy habits. Shoppers can also use the Bespoke AirDresser to sanitise their outerwear before, during and after their time at the SLEEPLAB, which is also meant to mimic a bedroom environment.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced today that it ranks as the world’s No.1 TV brand for the 20th consecutive year — marking two decades as the global leader in the television industry.

Samsung has held the top position in the global TV market since 2006, and, according to market research firm Omdia, the company recorded a 29.1% share of the global TV market in 2025. This achievement reinforces Samsung’s leadership across premium, ultra-large and next-generation display technologies.

Samsung led the premium segment priced over US$2,500 with a 54.3% market share, driven by Neo QLED, OLED, and lifestyle TVs. It also maintained its lead in the segment over US$1,500, holding a 52.2% market share.

“When consumers choose a TV, they’re choosing a brand they can trust for years to come,” said SW Yong, President and Head of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Our 20-year leadership in the global TV market reflects that trust — built on decades of engineering excellence and premium innovation.”

20 Years of Industry-Defining Innovation

Since first reaching the No.1 position in 2006 with its design-led Bordeaux TV, Samsung has consistently innovated to reshape the television industry:

2009: The company accelerated the global transition to LED TVs, setting new standards for slimmer, more energy-efficient displays.

2011: The introduction of Smart TVs further transformed televisions into connected entertainment platforms, expanding their role beyond traditional viewing.

2015: The Serif reimagined how TVs integrate into living spaces by introducing a design-focused TV that positioned the screen as a statement piece within the home.

2017: The company launched The Frame, pioneering the Art TV category by transforming the television into a customisable digital art canvas.

2017: In premium picture quality, Samsung continued to set industry benchmarks with the introduction of QLED TVs powered by quantum dot technology.

2018: 8K TVs delivered over 33 million pixels — four times the resolution of 4K.

2020: Samsung introduced MICRO LED technology, advancing self-emissive display innovation and setting new standards for brightness, contrast and colour accuracy in ultra-large screens.

Through continuous advancements in picture quality, smart functionality and display innovation, Samsung has played a defining role in establishing today’s premium TV standards.

Strengthening Leadership in Premium and Next-Generation TVs

Building on its legacy of innovation, Samsung continues to evolve its premium TV portfolio with expanded Micro RGB models, advancing its next-generation display technologies and reinforcing leadership in high-performance screens. The company also continues to enhance its OLED and Neo QLED line-ups, delivering premium picture quality, ultra-large screen options and differentiated display performance.

Samsung is expanding its Mini LED offerings as well, bringing enhanced brightness, contrast and precision control to a wider range of screen sizes and price tiers to extend advanced display performance across its line-up. At the same time, continued investment in AI-powered TVs integrates advanced processors and intelligent features that optimise picture, sound and personalisation in real time.

With two decades of proven global leadership, Samsung remains one of the most consistently recognised and trusted TV brands worldwide — offering industry-leading technology across multiple price tiers, screen sizes and display innovations.

At The First Look during CES 2026, we moved beyond the traditional roadmap of hardware iterations to unveil a broader strategic vision: “Your Companion to AI Living.” This vision combines both hardware and visual intelligence to deliver an entertainment experience across our TVs, monitors and audio ecosystem that anticipates users’ needs and preferences in how they consume their preferred entertainment.

As the world’s leading TV brand for 19 consecutive years[1], we recognise that our leadership is no longer defined solely by the screens we produce, but by how effectively we integrate them into the lives of our consumers.

In the Southeast Asia and Oceania (SEAO) region, this shift is particularly critical. According to the latest e-Conomy SEA report by Google, Temasek, and Bain & Company, consumer interest in AI in Southeast Asia is three times the global average[2]. This heightened receptivity to innovation informs our 2026 strategy, driving a push towards a proactive, multi-agent experience.

From Tactical Usage to Intuitive Environments

With the rapid maturation of the digital economy across the SEAO region, our 2025 TV Awareness Study[3] show that 88% of consumers in SEAO now use a smart TV as their primary screen. This tells us that modern consumers are no longer looking for a passive display device, they want an intelligent Entertainment Companion: a device that understands context.

As daily life becomes increasingly complex, the value proposition of technology must shift from manual utility to proactive assistance. At the core is Vision AI Companion (VAC), designed to make television more intuitive, conversational and personalised. Simply ask a question while you’re watching the TV—about a film, a sports event, or even travel suggestions. Vision AI Companion delivers answers instantly, accompanied by helpful visuals and related content. Alongside SmartThings as the underlying architecture, the screen becomes a central command hub, orchestrating the home from climate control to household management. This is technology that simplifies life rather than adding to its cognitive load.

Defining the Premium Experience: Sight and Sound

The bar for home cinema has shifted towards premium, ultra-large screen experiences that demand zero compromise. In SEAO, 68% of consumers prioritise high-end, cinematic experiences at home 3. We are meeting this demand by scaling our ultra-large screen offerings and introducing the world’s first 130-inch Micro RGB TV (R95H model), marking a big step in display innovation and revolutionising picture quality. The core LED light source is redesigned and re-engineered, delivering exceptional color performance on top of great brightness and contrast.

True immersion is a multi-sensory business. We pair our display expertise with 11 years of audio excellence to transform the home audio experience, creating a unified acoustic environment. In 2026, Q-Symphony evolves TVs and speakers into an adaptive ecosystem that intelligently optimises sound based on each room’s unique layout.

This intelligence extends beyond entertainment to the battle station for gamers. Leading the Odyssey gaming monitor lineup is the 32-inch Odyssey 3D (G90XH model), the world’s first 6K glasses-free 3D gaming monitor that pushes the boundaries of resolution and refresh rates, ensuring a visual experience that is as seamless as it is immersive.

Elevating Home Expression Through Art and Content

Technology is most impactful when it enhances how we live and what we watch. In today’s vibrant and diverse consumer landscape, the visual display is not only a source of entertainment, but also a canvas for personal expression, supported by a growing ecosystem of content that enriches the home experience.

This year, we are bridging the gap between premium technology and home aesthetics through The Frame Pro. By utilising advanced glare-free display technology[4] and access to curated art via the Samsung Art Store[5], the screen complements a room’s atmosphere rather than dominating it. It enables users to showcase their heritage and tastes, transforming a high-performance device into a centrepiece of artistic expression.

Samsung TV Plus, our free ad-supported streaming (FAST) service, has also surpassed 100 million monthly active users (MAU) in 30 countries worldwide, marking a 12 million increase in users since October 2024, further redefining entertainment for consumers with Samsung TVs leading the global TV market.

Inspiring the Next Two Decades of Innovation

At Samsung, our commitment is to ensure that technology is no longer something you must learn, but something that understands you. Through “Your Companion to AI Living,” we are evolving the visual display from the centre of the room to the heart of the home.

We are not just selling hardware; we are building the infrastructure for a more intuitive way of living. By aligning our global innovation with the unique digital appetite of the SEAO region, we are ensuring that the next era of home entertainment isn’t just about better pixels, but about being a better companion in your daily life.

SemperFi Esports from Australia secured the championship title, defeating Deep Cross Gaming from Indonesia in a hard-fought battle to clinch the grand prize of US$20,000. Star player Kristers Darznieks of SemperFi Esports took home the MVP award and won US$2,000 for his performance during the tournament.

Beyman Esports of Malaysia and Ground Zero Gaming from Australia won third and fourth place respectively.

The Grand Finals in Kuala Lumpur was attended by a vibrant crowd, including media representatives, influencers and passionate fans. It was also streamed live online across Samsung’s official channels for fans across the region to engage in the thrilling action.

Competitors battled it out during the Grand Finals

“My passion for gaming began when I was 9 years old, and watching the pro scene made me realise what I wanted to do for the next 10 years—to play on stage and achieve the highest prestige in competitive esports. As a competitive gamer, there are a few features that holds crucial to me in a gaming monitor,” said James Savage, team captain of winning team SemperFi Esports. “A 180Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time and great dynamic panels with good visual contrast.”

Samsung’s Odyssey G5 G50F QHD 180Hz gaming monitors, which powered the tournament, features stunning QHD resolution, a lightning-fast 180Hz refresh rate, and an ultra-responsive 1ms response time. These advanced monitors are engineered for sharp visuals and heightened immersion, delivering the precision and performance essential for high-level Counter-Strike 2 battles.

“It was wonderful to see the region’s gaming community come together for such an exciting showcase of talent. The atmosphere throughout the tournament was electric, with players bringing incredible energy to every match. We are delighted that our gaming monitors helped equip players to perform at their best,” said Leslie Goh, Head of Regional Display Solutions, Samsung Southeast Asia and Oceania. “It is also worthwhile to note that this year’s Odyssey Cup saw a record number of sign-ups, and we hope that we will continue to see growing enthusiasm and participation for these events.”

The Entertainment Companion zone at The First Look 2026 marked a new chapter in Samsung’s visual display evolution — building on two decades as the world’s number one TV brand. The space was divided into art, gaming and entertainment sections, anchored by the world’s first 130-inch Micro RGB TV and the Vision AI Companion[1].

Samsung Newsroom stepped inside to see how hardware innovation and AI-driven visual intelligence come together to create new, immersive experiences.

Samsung has been the world’s No. 1 TV brand for the past 20 years.

Micro RGB 130-inch: CES Innovation Awards 2026 Best of Innovation Winner

The Micro RGB 130-inch TV made its debut at First Look. Visitors were first struck by its scale, then by the precision of its colour reproduction across varied content. The Micro RGB 130-inch TV also delivers 100% of the BT.2020 wide colour gamut, certified by Verband der Elektrotechnik (VDE), to enable more accurate, life-like colours.

As screen sizes grow, maintaining image consistency becomes more challenging. Samsung has addressed this with Glare Free technology, enabling uniform image rendering without distracting reflections — a key reason the Micro RGB 130-inch TV earned a CES Innovation Awards 2026 Best of Innovation honour.

Beyond the technology, the Micro RGB 130-inch TV’s Timeless Frame design reflects a modern evolution of Samsung’s TV legacy — preserving the Timeless Gallery concept first introduced at CES 2013. The lower edge of the frame meets the floor, creating the effect of a window that blends seamlessly into its surroundings.

“Can you tell me the recipe for the food on screen?”

The Vision AI Companion area showcased the range of interactions available through the TV. First introduced in 2025, the Vision AI Companion now understands casual, conversational prompts and delivers intelligent responses — from providing detailed information about a film, to recommending music based on mood and even placing food orders.

Art TVs: Bringing Art Gallery Experiences into the Home

The Frame and The Frame Pro

Building on the art experiences offered through Samsung Art Store, Samsung spotlighted its expanded Art TV line-up with a larger The Frame 98-inch. The built-in One Connect design simplifies installation, while the packaging box doubles as a wall-mounting guide.

Displayed alongside it, The Frame Pro 85-inch evoked the feel of a gallery space — showcasing Neo QLED picture quality with vivid clarity.

OLED S95H

The newly released OLED S95H TV, a CES Innovation Awards 2026 honouree, features an ultra-slim, bezel-free design that resembles a high-end picture frame mounted on the wall.

Art TVs can display more than 5,000 works currently exhibited in museums and other venues around the world. Samsung plans to expand the service through collaborations with global partners.

Art TVs created an immersive chamber where visitors could become part of the piece.

6K Gaming: Immersion on Another Level

Odyssey 3D Monitor

The glasses-free Odyssey 3D 32-inch (G90XH6K) — the world’s first 6K 3D gaming monitor — invited visitors to experience their favourite games in new ways. Around 60 games can be enjoyed in 3D including The First Berserker: Khazan, Stellar Blade, Lies of P: Overture and Mongil: STAR DIVE.

“I tried gaming in 3D for the first time, and it felt completely new and immersive,” said Jerry Ruiz, a digital content creator from Kennewick, Washington. “Being able to play 3D games without wearing glasses was especially impressive — I don’t think I’ll be able to go back to regular gaming.”

Personalised Entertainment: Tailored to Individual Lifestyles

Tizen

The new Tizen operating system enables personalised recommendations through expanded content discovery. Viewers can access curated programming based on viewing trends and seasonal themes through a simple, intuitive interface.

Tizen delivers personalised entertainment experiences.

Samsung extended entertainment beyond watching and listening by inviting visitors to take the mic with Stingray Karaoke on Samsung TV. With microphone connectivity, tambourine effects and applause sounds, the TV transforms into a karaoke system, while features such as echo, reverb and voice tuning recreate the feel of a professional performance. Visitors could also test their skills with Fender Play TV, available exclusively on Samsung TV. The service offers guitar tutorials led by top instructors, along with virtual band sessions through Jam mode.

Big Screen, Glare-Free Immersion

The large-display setup demonstrated Samsung’s Glare Free technology, delivering greater immersion paired with Micro RGB picture quality and spatial audio. The experience reflected Samsung’s vision of the TV as an Entertainment Companion.

Portable Screens: Made for Life on the Move

The Freestyle+

One area of the exhibition resembled a camping trip, featuring the new The Freestyle+ projector. Designed for portability, the device lets users enjoy their favourite content wherever they go.

Lightweight and compact, the projector features a minimalist design that blends into any space. AI OptiScreen technology automatically adjusts the image for different surfaces — including walls, ceilings and curtains — ensuring optimal viewing from virtually anywhere.

The Freestyle+

Audio Innovation: Sound for Every Space

Music Studio Series and Q-Symphony

Samsung unveiled a range of audio devices in multiple form factors, each made to deliver high-quality sound. Created in a second collaboration with French designer Erwan Bouroullec — following his earlier work with Samsung on The Serif TV — the Music Studio series of Wi-Fi speakers blends refined design with immersive audio, enhancing interior spaces wherever they are placed. The Music Studio series received a CES Innovation Awards 2026 honour.

Music Studio series

Q Series All-in-One Soundbar

Samsung introduced its most cinematic soundbar to date with the new Q Series All-in-One Soundbar. The system features 13 built-in speakers and Sound Elevation technology — which raises dialogue toward the centre of the screen. With Auto Volume and flexible installation options including wall mounting or tabletop placement, the soundbar delivers a clearer, more natural listening experience.

Sound Tower

The Sound Tower rounded out the audio line-up. Equipped with a built-in telescopic handle and wheels, the speaker can be easily moved and positioned as needed. Users can adjust lighting colours and effects with Party Lights+ and sound settings to suit different environments. With IPX4 water resistance, the Sound Tower delivers stadium-level energy for an immersive match-day experience.

Using microscopic chips that independently render colour, the Micro LED delivered lifelike visuals with exceptional clarity. Shown on a massive 140-inch screen, the imagery created an immersive, cinema-like experience that felt true to life.

In the next area, visitors entered a space modelled after a powder room where a circular mirror revealed itself as the AI Beauty Mirror. Powered by on-device AI, the technology signalled Samsung’s technology expansion into the beauty space.

The hybrid design combines a polarised mirror with a half mirror to improve reflectivity and transparency, delivering clearer, more precise visuals.

Audio-Visual Design Blends Sound with Form

A line-up of visually striking audio devices added a strong visual element to the booth. Reimagining the turntable, the Transparent Micro LED functioned as a music visualiser — resembling an LP floating in mid-air — while a built-in premium sound system ensured audio quality remained uncompromised.

A floating LP-inspired visual audio device

Spatial Signage

Samsung also introduced Spatial Signage, a new display form factor that combines detailed 2D content with immersive 3D effects. Using spatial optical technology measuring just 52 millimetres thick, the display creates a pronounced sense of depth — as if an additional layer of space exists within the screen. The system integrates with existing Samsung signage, enabling centralised remote management of both content and hardware.

With life-size 3D effects and vivid visuals, Spatial Signage can be used for advertising, events, artist exhibitions and museum displays.
