This year’s Bespoke AI Laundry products incorporate the 7” AI Home screens, extending Samsung’s “Screens Everywhere” vision that was first presented at CES 2025. These screens offer intuitive control and monitoring of essential information related to the laundry experience, such as wash cycles and remaining detergent levels. They also remember user habits and consider periodic and seasonal needs, suggesting appropriate cycles to free users from having to consider the right cycle every time. The AI Home also functions as a central hub allowing users to monitor and control connected appliances, while also enjoying online videos or music.

The Bespoke AI Washer & Dryer sets are designed to simplify laundry routines with advanced AI algorithms and sensors, optimising washing and drying performance while enhancing energy efficiency. The original AI Wash and AI Dry are upgraded to AI Wash+ and AI Dry+, with enhanced fabric detection abilities to ensure efficient and high-quality washing and drying for a wider variety of fabric types.

24-Inch Wide Capacity Washer & Dryer Set Boosts Laundry Efficency

Following the unveiling of the Bespoke AI Washer at IFA 2024, the 24-inch capacity washer will be available for pre-order in the UK from 31^st March with the dryer launching later this year. Featuring the 7” AI Home, the washer incorporates a sleek Bespoke design based on a fully unified flat-panel aesthetic, providing intuitive control and connectivity features.

The washer, built to be highly efficient to meet the needs of the European market, consumes up to 55% less energy than the minimum efficiency requirements for a Class A rating^[2]. It also supports thorough^[3] cleaning optimising water and detergent use with AI Wash, and ensures gentle washing while improving soil removal with AI Ecobubble. QuickDrive, available with 11 different cycles, can reduce wash time by up to 50% ^[4] without compromising cleaning performance.

The matching dryer features the AI Dry+, capable of drying precisely by detecting four fabric types ^[5] — Normal, Denim, Towels, and Synthetics. This enables the machine to dry precisely ^[6] while reducing energy use by up to 10% and drying time by up to 15%. ^[7] QuickDrive is also useful when users need to dry their laundry both quickly and gently, reducing drying time by up to 35% ^[8] through automatic adjustments of the inverter compressor.

The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo is the latest advanced all-in-one washer and dryer that combines the power of two appliances, while also saving space in the home. It streamlines the laundry process by eliminating the need to transfer clothes between machines or drying racks, saving users valuable time.

Equipped with a range of AI features which bring a new level of convenience to users laundry routines, the Combo intelligently adjusts the washing and drying performance for smaller loads. Save Space: The first room focusses on the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo’s ability to save space, with the studio set initially highlighting the limitations of a tightly packed utility room struggling to fit both a washer and a dryer. In a flash, the room is transformed to show how home living spaces can be maximised by replacing the two separate units with the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo.

Save Time: The next room showcased the double timesaving power of the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo in action. The Super Speed cycle gets laundry done faster by washing^[4] and drying^[5] daily loads of up to 3kg within just 98 minutes^[6].

Massive Capacity: Second, to emphasise the timesaving benefits of the 18kg large capacity drum, where users effectively double the amount of clothes that can be washed in one go^[7], 18kg loads of clothes were displayed on clothes racks throughout the space. These magically disappeared with the seamless installation of the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo. The room turned from a cluttered, clothes-filled mess into a place for entertainment and stylish living.

Smart Technology: The third and final room brought to life the AI and smart technology features of the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo and the intuitive sensing capabilities of AI Wash & Dry. AI Wash & Dry optimises both washing and drying for each unique load, freeing users from pain points like having to determine the optimal settings for each cycle or how much detergent and rinse is needed. Designed to mirror the inside of the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo’s spacious drum, the room engaged attendees in interactive stations spotlighting the machine’s innovative sensing capabilities – detecting wash load, fabric type, water, detergent and soil levels. The hands-on experience also highlighted the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo’s exceptional energy efficiency, whether used as a standalone washer, or using the most of the washer-dryer double action. The Eco 40-60 wash cycle is up to 20% more efficient than the A-grade energy efficiency class threshold for washing machines^[8]. Not only that, but the wash and dry combined cycle also qualifies for the washer-dryer to have an A-grade energy efficiency class rating.^[9] These impressive results were achieved through advanced heat pump drying technology, which dries clothes quickly, gently and efficiently at lower temperatures.

The models showcased at the event are being launched across four product series. These include products that are 10%, 20%, 30% and 40% more efficient than standard A rated washing machines. So no matter which product is selected by the consumer, it still provides energy efficient benefits. Plus, thanks to SpaceMax technology, the new products enable a large capacity of 11 kg ^[2] while the outside dimensions stay the same.

More Efficient Than Class “A” Through Samsung’s Advanced Technologies

The new washing machine lineup brings significant energy savings to the laundry process, with the most notable achievement being the 40% more energy efficient than A rated model1. Samsung has introduced advanced technologies into the lineup in order to achieve this.

The core technology leading the extra energy saving is the Bubble Shot^[3]. It sprays soapy water inside the drum on top of the clothes by pulling it through a circulation pump. This means the detergent penetrates evenly, enhancing overall washing efficiency.

The newly launched Bubble Shot Technology helps users save water and cycle time when using the Cotton cycle. using up to 20% less water^[4] than a conventional washing machine. Using the same amount of detergent, it also means the density of the detergent is higher, enhancing the performance while shortening the washing cycle time by up to 25%^[4] .

With AI Energy Mode^[5], available through the SmartThings app10, energy monitoring is extended even further. Users can monitor their daily, weekly and monthly power consumption, with the feature even estimating users’ monthly energy bills. If the monthly electricity bill indicates that it may exceed a users’ target, SmartThings Energy can turn on the energy saving mode, which then smartly reduces energy consumption by up to 70% compared to washing in warm water^[6].

Elevating User Experiences with AI-Based Technologies

While the new lineup improves the performance in energy efficiency, the core functions also help users reduce efforts in treating their laundry.

AI Wash takes the guesswork out of the perfect wash. Four sensors weigh your wash load and check the level of soiling to adjust the water, amount of detergent dispensed, rinse time and spin speed* for great results and minimal wear and tear with every wash.

In addition to that AI Ecobubble^[7] goes one step further by detecting for wash loads of up to 2kg.

A Wide Range of Impressive Laundry Features

Samsung has applied and expanded features in three important areas of the laundry experience ― the reduction of microplastics release, ease of use, and washing time. Here is how:

Less Microfiber Cycle: All entries in the lineup come with the standard Less Microfiber Cycle. It was created to help shed less microplastics being discharged into drain water from clothes. By adjusting the motor’s revolution speed and washing intensiveness, this cycle reduces the amount of microfiber released in the drain water

Detergent Scan^[8] and Care Label Scan^[9]: Enjoy personalised and efficient laundry. Clothing Care^[10] analyses your usage^[11] to make recommendations and customise cycles^[12]. By scanning the barcode on detergent, it automatically sets the appropriate amount for each load^[13]. When you take a photo of the care label on your clothes and register them in ‘My Closet’ it suggests customised courses for items selected from it, so you get the perfect wash.

Super Speed: With Super Speed, the loads can be finished in just 39 minutes.^[14] This short wash time is enabled by QuickDrive, which dynamically moves clothes. The rinsing time is also shortened using Speed Spray, which shoots powerful jets of water to quickly remove detergent residue. And the washer accelerates the spin speed based on the laundry load to quickly spin-dry clothes, as well.

London, UK – 6th December 2022 – Three in five (60%) UK adults see laundry as ‘a tedious household task’, with many either rushing to get it done as quickly as possible (35%), wearing all their clean clothes until they eventually run out (26%), or simply avoiding it until the wash basket is overspilling (25%).

As the temperature grows colder, these feelings will likely intensify, with the study by Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. revealing over half (51%) of the nation claim the volume (32%) and frequency (29%) of their wash loads increase during the winter months. And it’s not just the amount that they’re washing, but how they’re washing, as a quarter (25%) forget which settings suit winter clothes, often resulting in shrinking their favourite woolly jumpers.

Two in five (42%) people say they would be open to trying ‘mindful laundry’ to help turn the laundry process into a calming ritual. Whilst others say they enjoy the smell of freshly washed clothes (54%), feeling the warmth of fabric fresh from the dryer (34%), creating symmetrical stacks of clothes (26%) and noticing the lines they create as they fold (22%). To help encourage more people to find laundry fun and fulfilling again, Samsung has teamed up with mindfulness expert and professional organiser Katrina Hassan – who has completed training with Marie Kondo – to share the following hacks:

1. Give laundry a designated home in your weekly routine – If you’re constantly playing catch up with laundry or feel like you’re putting on a load every day, being more mindful and scheduling in a designated laundry day and time into your weekly routine is a good starting point to restore order and protect your wellbeing. Look at your weekly routine and choose a day – or two if required – where you will work on completing your laundry. For me, finishing the laundry feels like I’m ‘resetting’ my home and restoring order, leading to a great feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment.
2. Change your perspective – To experience more joy in life, we need to shift our focus to the positive. Instead of building up a negative image of folding laundry in our minds, create a vision of yourself completing the laundry as an act of self-care. Think about how you will prepare the environment for completing this act; I like to light a candle and play music, which reflects the seasons.

3. Engage your senses – Effective meditation engages all of our senses, and it’s possible to turn your laundry routine into a meditative experience. If you think carefully about the act of laundry, it has the opportunity to engage most of our senses. We can enjoy the beautiful smell of freshly washed clothes, feel the warmth of the items emanating from the fabric fresh from the dryer, see the beauty in the items as we fold them and feel a great sense of pride in our hearts that we have completed a ritual that will make the home (and our lives) run more smoothly. As a ‘slow living’ enthusiast, I agree that life is better and our wellbeing is protected when we’re not trying to multitask. Your laundry routine can provide countless chances for you to practice the art of ‘slow living’.
4. Get others involved and spread the joy! – If you’re a parent, depending on the age of your children, try involving them in the task. I understand that this may seem like a frightening prospect! It may take longer at first as they get used to the process but teaching your children how to complete the laundry is an important life skill and will serve them well in the future.
