The UK’s leading etiquette expert and coach, William Hanson, shared his advice on mastering the perfect street party: “Street parties can be great for boosting neighbourhood morale and strengthening community spirit. After two relatively reclusive years, the Platinum Jubilee celebrations will have an extra gloss to them.

“As with any form of entertaining, quality is always better over quantity. A well-organised street party hosted over two-and-a-half hours packed full of essentials, from savoury treats, entertainment, and alcohol – but steady on the quantity – will make for a perfect day with family and neighbours. And don’t forget the bunting!

“But remember, gossiping about The Jones is a straight ‘no no’ and please mind your Ps and Qs. You will be in the company of all ages, from children through to elderly neighbours, so manners and best behaviour is a must.”

Aside from street parties, other ways the nation is planning to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee included watching the concert (25%) and ‘Trooping the Colour’ (22%) on TV. Whilst almost a fifth (18%) are planning to head to the pub with friends and family, whilst 15 per cent head into Central London to experience the celebrations in person.

To celebrate the Platinum Jubilee, Samsung has today launched pre-orders until 22nd May of a range of limited-edition Bespoke Jubilee Fridge Freezers with panels displaying the quintessentially British Union Jack. With almost a fifth (24%) of people planning to purchase Union Jack themed household items to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee, many may be excited to know the fridge freezer comes in three colours, including Clean Black’, ‘Glam Lavender’ and ‘Glam Peach’ – and there are only 70 units of each available to be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dan Harvie, VP, Head of Home Appliances, Samsung Electronics (UK & Ireland) Ltd, said: “We’re thrilled to be launching our limited-edition Bespoke Jubilee Fridge Freezer to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee.

“What’s more, our research reveals that a fridge freezer is the ‘most useful kitchen appliance’ for a street party (24%), so we’re excited to be launching the Bespoke Jubilee Fridge Freezer in time for all the celebrations to give consumers even more choice within their kitchens, but also honour our Queen and country.”
