LONDON, United Kingdom – October 5th, 2023 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the Galaxy SmartTag2, launching globally on October 11. Galaxy

LONDON, United Kingdom – October 5th, 2023 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the Galaxy SmartTag2, launching globally on October 11. Galaxy SmartTag2 brings enhancements to the Galaxy SmartTag line that enable new and better ways to keep track of valuables. Upgrades to the design and usability create even more use cases for the device than ever before.

“We are constantly looking at ways to make people’s lives more convenient through Samsung Galaxy’s industry-leading innovations,” said James Kitto, Vice President and Head of MX Division at Samsung Electronics. “With the Galaxy SmartTag2, we set out to make sure Samsung Galaxy users can find their belongings in an easy and intuitive way. With an enhanced finding experience and a longer battery life, Galaxy SmartTag2 will provide users with greater peace of mind for longer and in more situations.”

Intuitive Features Make Finding Lost Items Easier Than Ever[1]

Galaxy SmartTag2’s brand-new Lost Mode[2] allows users to input their contact information via a message. Then, anyone who discovers an item with a Galaxy SmartTag2 attached can use their smartphone to scan the tag and see the owners’ message and contact information. This means a Galaxy SmartTag2 attached to a pet’s collar is now a convenient way to ensure the pet owner’s phone number is always there, in most places where the pet might wander. Lost Mode works with any mobile device with NFC reader and web browser.

Galaxy SmartTag2 now provides an improved Compass View feature, enhancing the user experience by providing arrows to show the direction and distance of the Galaxy SmartTag2 in relation to the user. This mode is available on any UWB-supported Galaxy smartphone, such as the Galaxy S23 Ultra[3].

The SmartThings Find app has also been upgraded, with newly registered Galaxy SmartTags that now installs a shortcut to the app on the user’s smartphone, allowing users to launch SmartThings Find more quickly. Additionally, the app now features a full screen map view and an intuitive interface, making the user experience even more seamless.

Finally, when switching Galaxy smartphones, SmartTag2 now automatically re-syncs your Galaxy smartphone you’re now using to your Samsung account.

New Modes Mean Longer-Lasting Battery[4]

Users can now enjoy Galaxy SmartTag2 for longer with the brand-new Power Saving Mode, available alongside an improved Normal mode. For users who rely on SmartTag to continually track items, Power Saving Mode is the perfect option to maintain battery life while ensuring you can keep an eye on your things. With Power Saving Mode, Galaxy SmartTag2’s battery now lasts up to 700 days, more than twice as long as previous Galaxy SmartTag models. Even in Normal Mode, battery life is now extended to 500 days, a 50% increase on previous models. With the flexibility to switch between two modes, users can track their valuables – from car keys to bikes – for longer.

Sleek Design Adapts to Even More Conditions and Brings More Use Cases

Galaxy SmartTag2’s new compact size and ring-shaped design was created with ease of use in mind. The large metal loop enhances product durability by using metal on the inside of the ring for greater resilience that can support accessories such as clips and keyrings. These accessories can also attach to bags and luggage.

Galaxy SmartTag2’s durability has also been upgraded with an IP67[5] rating for water and dust resistance. This enables users to track their items in even more challenging environments, such as when travelling outdoors. For pet owners, there’s no need to worry about everyday wear and tear on the device from pet’s water bowls or running around outside.

Peace of Mind, Repackaged

Galaxy SmartTag2 retains many of the popular features from Galaxy SmartTag and Galaxy SmartTag+. It takes advantage of both Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and UWB capabilities, leveraging Augmented Reality (AR) Find technology to visually guide users toward their item using their Samsung Galaxy smartphone camera. In addition, Galaxy SmartTag2 works within maximum Bluetooth range of 120 meters and can control smart home appliances through the SmartThings app.

Samsung remains committed to securing the privacy of Samsung Galaxy users, with the device’s location only to be made available with the user’s permission. SmartThings Find also encrypts user data and is supported by Samsung Knox for an extra layer of security. Furthermore, disabling Lost Mode immediately hides the owners’ contact information and wipes the message left by the owner from the device.

For Samsung Galaxy users, SmartThings Find can also provide security through its “Unknown tag alerts” feature. This feature alerts users of any unauthorised tracking by sending them a notification if SmartThings Find detects an unknown SmartTag following them. This helps protect users and prevent against the abuse of location tracking services.

Galaxy SmartTag2 features in Samsung’s recently announced expansion of its Wildlife Watch pilot, in partnership with Africam and The Black Mamba Anti-Poaching Unit, to protect against animal poaching in the South African bush. Launched in 2021, the programme uses Samsung technology as a live ‘surveillance system’ to enable anybody to watch wildlife in the Balule Nature Reserve in South Africa, part of the Kruger National Park. The impact the Galaxy SmartTag2 has on improving the safety of the rangers and helping them coordinate conservation efforts in the bush will also be tested. Using SmartThings Find, Black Mamba HQ will monitor where individuals are in the reserve.

Galaxy SmartTag2 will be available across the UK from October 11 in two colours, black or white, and an RRP of £34.99, with a four pack available for £109.99.

[1] For Galaxy SmartTag2, Samsung account log-in and registration on SmartThings Find is required. Galaxy SmartTag2 needs to be paired with Galaxy smartphones with Android 11 or higher to function. Accuracy may be reduced if there’s an obstacle between you and the tag, such as when the tag is inside a drawer, behind a wall, or in a car.”

[2] Contact information and message shown on Lost Mode must be registered beforehand on the SmartThings app.

[3] Current Galaxy products that support UWB include Galaxy Note20 Ultra, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S22+, Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold2, Z Fold3, Z Fold4, Z Fold5

[4] Battery life is based on results from internal lab tests for typical usage pattern scenarios conducted by Samsung. Tested with results from a pre-release version of the device using inbox CR2032 battery. Actual battery life may vary depending on different usage patterns, device model, or the battery manufacturer.

[5] Galaxy SmartTag2 is rated as IP67. Based on lab test conditions for submersion in up to 1 meter of freshwater for up to 30 minutes. Not advised for beach, pool use or soapy water. Water and dust resistance of device is not permanent and may diminish over time.

London, UK – 26th April 2021 – Samsung Electronics UK Ltd; – The UK has been busy learning new skills in lockdown, with dancing (15%), sewing (14%) and DJing (10%) amongst the top things Brits have taught themselves over the last year.

Research commissioned by Samsung UK has revealed the nation’s newfound love for dance in anticipation of restrictions fully lifting, with almost a sixth (15%) of adults taking up dancing as a new hobby, a fifth (22%) mastering a dance trend form social media and 65% even stating that dancing has lifted their mood.

What’s more, dance challenges on social media have been the main inspiration for over half of those polled – with 71% claiming to have watched dance moves on the popular social media platform.

This dance renaissance has led to dances trending on social media following popular dance culture shifting its audience to the digital world, with the top five trending dances list below:

The Woah (22%)

The Swagg Bouncee (21%)

The Cosby Walk (21%)

The Kangsta Wok (16%)

The Smeeze (16%)

Despite this lockdown dance fever on social feeds, three quarters (75%) of young people still admit to feeling anxious about dancing in public. So, to give people the confidence to hit the real-life dance floor, UK dance sensation Perri Kiely has revealed his top tips on how to brush up on the latest trending moves.

Perri Kiely’s top tips for dancing like a pro:

Wow with “The Woah”: To those not in the know, “The Woah” is all about that tension in your body, you want to go from a chilled position to tensing when the beat drops in a song. Once you’ve got that, add a bit of your own spice and you’re good to go!

Look fresh with “The Cosby Walk”: To pull this off, you want to walk as if you were walking down steps… then imagine you’re out with your mates and want to look at someone without being obvious. Step, lean, look and boom

Swing with “The Swagg Bouncee”: This requires you to pick your legs up, sway your hips from side to side (don’t be afraid to double hip!) and make it your own

Make it feed ready: Make sure you’ve got a strong set up with your camera. The Samsung Galaxy A52 5G’s Pro Mode is perfect for tailoring your dance content. It just acts like a professional video camera. Oh, and don’t get me started on Ultra-Wide, it has a quad camera set-up and gets everything in shot

And finally, have confidence: Do your thing and have fun. This is what it’s all about.

“Lockdown hasn’t been easy but it’s great to see so many people have to used the time to learn to dance.

Social media has been massively influential in getting people to shake their bodies and learn some new steps. And I’ve loved editing and sharing my routines – made super easy with the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G and its awesome video editing features.” said Perri Kiely.

“But there are a lot of people still feel daunted and are yet the catch the bug – hopefully my tutorial will encourage some of those to have the confidence to dance like no one’s watching.”

Sharon Hegarty, Marketing Director, Samsung UK & Ireland, commented: “More time at home over the last twelve months has given us a unique opportunity to try things we normally wouldn’t. I know I’ve had a lot of fun learning the latest dance trends with my kids at home during lockdown. With the UK opening up, we want to give people the confidence to create the best moves and content both at home in real life when it’s safe to do so. Using Perri’s tips and our amazing Samsung Galaxy A52 5G, people can take their new-found love of dance and share it with the world.”

With innovation that’s accessible to everyone, Samsung has set the bar high for camera quality, and the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G is no different. People can capture and enjoy more fun and versatile photos and videos as well as having other standout features such as water resistance[1] and a long-lasting battery life[2] – all powered by 5G[3].

Samsung Galaxy A52 5G1 also gives access to the wider Samsung Galaxy ecosystem of connected devices, such as Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro, Samsung Galaxy SmartTag, and Samsung Galaxy Tab S7/S7+[4] to always keep you connected.

Perri Kiely will be running the Samsung Awesome Upskills Dance Tutorial – a virtual dance class hosted on the Samsung KX Hub from Tuesday 4th May, shot and streamed on the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G, for people to sharpen up their dance moves from home.

LONDON, UK – April 21, 2021 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd today announced that the company’s recently launched SmartThings Find ecosystem is continuing to

LONDON, UK – April 21, 2021 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd today announced that the company’s recently launched SmartThings Find ecosystem is continuing to grow rapidly, now comprising more than 70 million helper devices across the globe. The service also continues to evolve with enhanced privacy features and voice command updates, which will be available from April 26th. The updates, which include the ability to detect unknown Galaxy SmartTags in your vicinity and the use of Bixby to conveniently find your belongings, enable you to have more control of your connected items from the SmartThings app.

SmartThings Find Becomes One of the Fastest-Growing Location Services

SmartThings Find[1], one of the standout features of the SmartThings ecosystem, enables Galaxy users to locate registered Galaxy smartphones, tablets, smartwatches and earbuds quickly and easily using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)[2] and ultra-wideband (UWB) technologies. It can also help find personal items such as keys, bags and bicycles that have one of Samsung’s small, Bluetooth-powered Galaxy SmartTag devices attached.

SmartThings Find users can help others find lost or misplaced items by opting in via the SmartThings app. Once opted in, any nearby Galaxy device will alert the SmartThings server about a missing device or tag’s location, with the user receiving a notification of its whereabouts.[3] Since its launch in October 2020, more than 70 million devices have been registered globally and with a quick consent, Galaxy users can participate in the SmartThings Find network, making it one of the fastest-growing location services in the world.

SmartThings Find is Enhanced with New Safety and Convenience Features

In addition to its device expansion, people are increasingly using SmartThings Find to keep tabs on their most important possessions. In fact, over half of Galaxy SmartTag users attach it to their house keys or car keys, closely followed by backpacks, wallets and bicycles. Now, beginning next week, Galaxy users will benefit from two new SmartThings Find features that will not only make finding these items more convenient, but will also give them peace of mind when it comes to their safety[4].

First, users will now be able to use Bixby[5] for convenient hands-free, voice-activated Galaxy SmartTag searches. Users can easily and quickly find their belongings which are assigned to an item via Bixby; for instance, if the user asks “Hi Bixby, where’s my bike?” Bixby will immediately find and share its exact location by ringing it.

In addition, the new Unknown Tag Search feature can detect when a Galaxy SmartTag that doesn’t belong to you is moving along with you. With the press of a start button, Unknown Tag Search will scan for unknown SmartTags and provide a list.

As a reminder, all SmartThings Find user data is encrypted and securely protected through a randomized private ID, which changes every 15 minutes, ensuring that the device’s location is not revealed to anyone except its owner.

The SmartThings Ecosystem is Continuing to Evolve

SmartThings Find is just one feature of the ever-expanding, trusted SmartThings ecosystem, which has deepened its capabilities and evolved into an IoT service across Galaxy smartphones and tablets, Samsung TVs and home appliances.

In the UK, SmartThings has expanded beyond popular uses like Smart Home controls or Smart Car features, to analyze users’ electricity usage patterns and recommends more energy-efficient control options for connected devices.

“Samsung is setting precedence with our SmartThings ecosystem, making it one of the fastest-growing location services in the world, and we are only just scratching the surface of what’s possible,” said Teg Dosanjh, Director of Connected Services and Technology at Samsung Electronics. “Continuing to create meaningful services and putting customer experience at the heart of our innovation is what we do best,” he added.

LONDON, UK – April 8, 2021 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the official launch of Galaxy SmartTag+, which will be available in the UK from

LONDON, UK – April 8, 2021 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the official launch of Galaxy SmartTag+, which will be available in the UK from April 16th. Following the successful launch of SmartTag earlier this year, Galaxy SmartTag+ is equipped with both Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and ultra-wideband (UWB) technology so that it can pinpoint the location of a lost item with greater accuracy. It also uses augmented reality (AR) technology to visually guide you towards where your missing item is located using your Samsung Galaxy smartphone’s camera[1].

Easily find your misplaced items

Galaxy SmartTag+, the newest iteration of Samsung’s Galaxy SmartTag, can be attached to everyday items, like a rucksack or keyring, so they can be precisely and easily located via Bluetooth[2] through the SmartThings Find service[3], which is available through not only your Samsung Galaxy smartphone, but your Galaxy Watch, Buds and Tablet too[4].

Locate your belongings visually with new AR Finder technology

Because Galaxy SmartTag+ is both BLE and UWB-enabled, you can now use AR technology to visually guide you towards your missing item. Using your compatible Samsung smartphone camera such as Galaxy S21+ or S21 Ultra, and with an easy-to-follow interface that shows you how far you are from the misplaced item, the AR technology will point you in the direction of your Galaxy SmartTag+. And once you’re closer to the tag’s location, you can choose to call it with a loud ring, so even if it’s slipped under the sofa, you’ll have no problem finding it.

“There’s nothing more frustrating than misplacing an item, which is why we’ve launched SmartTag+, putting control back into the hands of customers. By enabling everyone to attach the smartest location technology effortlessly to critical things like our keys, we help customers eliminate the anxiety attached with trying to find them or losing them altogether,” said Teg Dosanjh, Director of Connected Services and Technology at Samsung Electronics. “Additionally if it’s your phone that’s been misplaced you can use your SmartTag+ to trigger it to ring even if on silent. Putting customer experience at the heart of our innovation is what we do best, and we’re committed to doing what we can to make people’s lives that little bit easier.”

Pinpoint your tag’s location, even when it’s far away

Galaxy SmartTag+ can also leverage SmartThings Find’s powerful helper network, allowing you to locate tagged items on a map, even if it’s misplaced somewhere far from where you are. That’s because the tags use BLE connectivity and the power of the Galaxy device network, where there are millions of available helper devices in the UK to support when your device is out of range. SmartThings Find users can choose to opt in via the SmartThings app and enable their Galaxy smartphone or tablet to help others find their own lost tags or devices. Once you report your tag as missing in SmartThings Find, any nearby Galaxy device that has opted in will anonymously alert the SmartThings server about its location and you will receive a notification. All data in SmartThings Find is encrypted and protected, so the tag’s location isn’t revealed to anyone but you.

Locate your phone from your SmartTag

If you have misplaced your Samsung smartphone, but have your SmartTag+, a quick double tap of the tag’s button can make your phone ring, even if it is on silent. Making it easy and convenient to find your missing smartphone.

Remotely control your smart devices with the click of a button

On top of that, Galaxy SmartTag+ and SmartTag are helpful for more than just locating lost possessions. Forgot to turn off your TV or bedside lamp but you’ve already left the house? Rather than running back home, you can use your SmartTag+ or SmartTag to turn off the light remotely[5]. Through the SmartThings app, you can choose different functions you would like your tag to complete when you press or hold down the tag button.

Galaxy SmartTag+ is available in the UK from April 16th, RRP £39.99. Galaxy SmartTag+ operates using the SmartThings Find service, provided in the SmartThings app. To find out more, visit www.samsung.com/smartthings.

[1] Within AR Finder feature of the SmartThings Find service, provided in the SmartThings app. Available on Galaxy devices with UWB technology, including the Galaxy Note20 Ultra, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold2.

[2] Bluetooth range is up to 120m without obstruction.

[3] Requires initial setup on a Samsung Galaxy smartphone running Android 8.0 or higher & RAM of 2.0GB or above and opt-in for location tracking through the SmartThings Find service of the SmartThings app.

[4] SmartThings Find is compatible with Samsung Galaxy Smartphones and Samsung Galaxy Tablets running Android 8.0 and above, in addition to SmartTag, the Galaxy Watch3, Galaxy Watch Active2, Galaxy Buds Pro, Galaxy Buds+ and Galaxy Buds Live
