Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today shared its plan to expand support for glasses-free 3D gameplay on the Samsung Odyssey 3D gaming monitor. At GDC Festival of Gaming 2026 in San Francisco, Samsung will spotlight Hell is Us and Cronos: The New Dawn as part of its expanding 3D gaming ecosystem, demonstrating how leading titles are embracing immersive display without the need for special glasses.

“The Odyssey 3D is designed for gamers who want to experience their hobby in a way that feels like they’re completely embedded in the action,” said Kevin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Through partnerships with leading gaming studios, we are committed to creating an ecosystem of top-tier titles, making great games extraordinary.”

Gaming’s Most Acclaimed Titles Become Fully Immersive 3D Experiences− Expanding Partnerships with Leading Developers

Hell is Us, the critically acclaimed action-adventure horror game from Rogue Factor, will arrive on Samsung’s Odyssey 3D ecosystem in March, becoming a part of the first wave of newly added 3D-enabled titles for 2026.

Cronos: The New Dawn, developed by Bloober Team, will join this expanding 3D gaming library by the end of the year. This survival horror game, which has received generally positive reviews from critics, will provide an immersive gaming experience by integrating with the 3D technology.

Both titles will be playable in 3D through the Samsung Odyssey 3D Hub, the company’s dedicated 3D content platform, which already supports over 60 titles.

In addition to 3D gaming technology, Samsung offers HDR10+ GAMING, which delivers optimised HDR performance to each game by automatically analysing each scene and frame, thereby enhancing immersion. Since 2022, the company has integrated HDR10+ GAMING into its Odyssey gaming monitors and TVs featuring refresh rates above 120Hz.

Samsung has partnered with top video game studio CD PROJEKT RED as part of its commitment to advancing display technology alongside leading developers.

This collaboration will explore how technology can be advanced to increase the immersion of video games for players, and Samsung is already working with CD PROJEKT RED to integrate HDR10+ GAMING into its hit video game Cyberpunk 2077.

Additionally, Samsung announced the expansion of its HDR10+ GAMING partnership with Pearl Abyss. HDR10+ GAMING will be featured in Pearl Abyss’s upcoming open-world action-adventure game Crimson Desert, set to launch in March, ensuring gamers enjoy a premium HDR experience.

The Full Odyssey Experience Comes to GDC 2026

At GDC 2026, Samsung will host hands-on demo sessions for journalists and industry experts to gain an up-close look at its latest Odyssey monitors and an opportunity to play Hell is Us in 3D before the public.

The demo sessions will feature Samsung’s Odyssey gaming monitor lineup:

27-inch Odyssey 3D (G90XF model): Glasses-free 3D gaming with advanced eye-tracking that delivers natural-looking depth and makes action jump off the screen. This glasses-free 3D gaming monitor will expand the lineup with the launch of a 32-inch model by the end of the year.

32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH model): Stunning 4K QD-OLED at 240Hz with exceptional color and contrast, protected by Samsung OLED Safeguard+ technology.

32-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HS model): The industry’s first 6K gaming monitor, delivering native 165Hz performance with Dual Mode support up to 330Hz in 3K. This model also offers VESA-certified DisplayPort 2.1 (DP 2.1) connectivity, which supports smooth gaming and efficient video playback.

27-inch Odyssey G6 (G60H model): The world’s first 1,040Hz gaming monitor with Dual Mode, delivering esports-level motion clarity and responsiveness.

Odyssey 3D: Glasses-Free Gaming at Its Peak

While previous 3D approaches required either special glasses or sacrificed performance, the Odyssey 3D is a groundbreaking gaming monitor that delivers stunning 3D gameplay without compromise. Using advanced Eye Tracking and View Mapping technology, the monitor requires no glasses. It adjusts the 3D depth of the scene in response to the viewer’s position in real time, ensuring an optimised 3D effect.

Combined with a 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms GtG response time, the Odyssey 3D delivers smooth, responsive gameplay, resulting in a 3D effect that holds even during fast camera movement, gunfights and high-speed traversal — without the eye strain traditionally associated with 3D displays.

The addition of Hell is Us and Cronos: The New Dawn expands Samsung’s 3D gaming library, which currently supports more than 60 titles — including The First Berserker: Khazan, Stellar Blade, Lies of P: Overture, and MONGIL: STAR DIVE. With these additions, the company’s selection of 3D games is on track to reach over 120 titles by the end of 2026.

* 3D effects may vary depending on the game content and PC capabilities.

* 3D capabilities may be limited in multi-monitor environments with more than one Odyssey 3D monitor.

* Game compatibility can be seen in Odyssey 3D Hub, which can be downloaded from Samsung.com or Microsoft Store.

London, UK – 4th October 2023 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. research reveals the video game sector could be doing more to cater for gamers with disabilities.

London, UK – 4th October 2023 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. research reveals the video game sector could be doing more to cater for gamers with disabilities. The study, conducted by Samsung Pioneers and OnePoll, sampled 500 adults with physical and invisible disabilities, and shows 81% of respondents have struggled to play their favourite games due to inaccessible features, such as a lack of customisable control options (21%), hard-to-read text (33%), fast-paced gameplay (34%) and flashing lighting effects (31%). As a result, 39% have been forced to stop playing a game – or abandon it altogether.

It’s clear from the results there’s a desire from disabled gamers for more inclusivity in gaming. With over half (52%) of respondents expressing a wish to see characters that reflect their disabilities, the findings suggest that increased representation could substantially enhance engagement and gameplay duration.

However, despite the challenges raised, the study found over a fifth (22%) of those polled feel empowered by gaming, while 40% say the pastime gives them a sense of escapism. Added to this, 16% say it provides them with a way to connect with other gamers with disabilities emphasising the invaluable opportunity for social and community engagement in the gaming world. Meanwhile, 28% of gamers polled say video games are an ‘essential’ part of their routine.

Samsung recently launched its European-wide Gaming Training Initiative. The ‘Embrace Your Game’ Portal is designed to centralise insights, and provide expert guides, training sessions and video workshops for gamers of all abilities.

Steven Woodgate, Head of Category Management MX and Chair of the True Ability Employee Resource Group – those with disabilities at Samsung Electronics UK, said: “Gamers with disabilities not only make up a sizable portion of the player base, but they also provide valuable perspectives and experiences to the gaming community. While we’ve seen some strides in accessibility over recent years, this study reveals the pressing barriers still faced by many.”

Further barriers to gaming for those polled include games which result in ‘cognitive overload’ through complex control configurations and hard-to-follow information or instructions (28%). Nearly a quarter (24%) have experienced dexterity issues – such as controllers not being adequately designed for their ergonomic needs.

The findings found that Mario Kart (29%) and Grand Theft Auto (23%) were perceived to be the most inclusive and accommodating toward disabled gamers. Those polled say the features and accessibility options they’d like to see in future titles include: more accessory options for differently abled players (34%) and more online multiplayer options catering towards different disabilities (34%). Nearly a third of respondents (31%) want improved guides and tutorials to help them learn controls for games, and a greater range of customisable controller options (31%).

Robin Christopherson, Head of Digital Inclusion at AbilityNet, a UK-based charity that envisions a digital world accessible to all, added: “It should be no surprise to learn that disabled people enjoy gaming as much as anyone else, but this research demonstrates quite clearly the negative impact on people’s wellbeing when hardware or software isn’t accessible.

“It also underlines that games are a vital part of the fabric of many people’s lives, creating social networks and bringing enjoyment which should be open to everyone. That’s why is so good to see Samsung leading the way in inclusive design and building accessibility into their products.”

Samsung UK and Ireland stands for fairness, compassion, and respect in everything we do. A diverse talent base is the absolute bedrock of Samsung’s commitment to driving sustainable growth – bringing diversity of thought to our business and ensuring this is reflected in the design and production of our products.

“We must prioritise an inclusive gaming landscape, ensuring every player, regardless of their disability, can enjoy and connect through these digital realms. The industry owes it to all its players to make games as accessible and representative as possible,” concludes Steven Woodgate, Head of Category Management MX, and Chair of the True Ability Employee Resource Group at Samsung UK.

Samsung Gaming Credentials

Samsung’s products, content, and services are built around a ‘human-centred’ philosophy that recognises diversity and embraces difference. Examples include:

The Samsung Gaming Hub – an online store specialising in gaming – lets users stream games directly to their TV without needing a console or streaming stick. This allows everyone to play their favourite games – whether you’re a hardcore gamer or casual player.

On Samsung devices, gamers can enable assistive shortcuts, tailor touch settings and use Screen Reader and Bixby Vision such as Voice Assistant and Google TalkBack integration to optimise gaming.

With its 7.6-inch main screen, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 device provides expansive and uninterrupted viewing so users can enjoy their favourite games whilst peak brightness has increased by more than 30%, up to 1750nits – creating the ultimate gaming experience on the move.

Samsung TVs are compatible with 90% of Bluetooth controllers, meaning that players who require more assistive or personalised controllers based on their unique needs, can still play their favourite games via the Samsung Gaming Hub.

Samsung works with its partners to make games playable using mobile virtual controllers – embedded in The Gaming Hub, including within Amazon Luna. Users can also use a Samsung TV remote to play games from providers such as Antstream and Blacknut. This breaks down barriers to entry for players who require bespoke set ups and access to a wider gaming accessory portfolio.

For gamers who have visual impairments, or colour vision deficiency, Samsung has ensured that its settings give players the most control over their graphic settings including the ability to adapt the Picture Mode, the Picture Size Settings and even more Expert Settings like controlling the Sharpness and the Backlight.

Samsung 2023 TV and monitor get SeeColors Mode which makes it possible for people who are colour vision deficient to see a full spectrum of colours on Samsung QLED TV screens, for an enhanced gaming experience. In addition to this, Relumino Mode supports those with visual impairments by enhancing the outline of images, with enhanced contrast ratio, brightness, colour and sharpness –

At our flagship store, Samsung KX, which is wheelchair accessible, we offer hands-on, interactive gaming experiences – including our Gaming Bus. which also has an accessibility ramp.

Samsung was recognised by the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) with a “Tried and Tested” Certification, awarded to Samsung’s Smart TVs based on their suitability for people who are blind or partially sighted, to improve the viewing experience for console gamers.

LONDON, UK – August, 2023 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has opened the Samsung Game Portal, an online store specialising in gaming, on Samsung.com.

The Game Portal is a one-stop online store for gamers designed to significantly increase the convenience of browsing and purchasing products such as smartphones, TVs, gaming monitors and high-performance SSDs. It also provides customers with a variety of gaming-related content in one place, fine-tuned to their preferences and experiences.

In 2021, Accenture, a leading global professional services company, published an illuminating gaming-related study. The study found that half of the gaming population are cross-platform gamers who use more than one device to play, spending an average of 16 hours a week gaming, as well as eight hours a week watching gaming-related video content and six hours a week participating in gaming-related communities.

In response to these customer trends, Samsung has designed the Game Portal to provide an impressive variety of content, such as gaming product information, domestic and international expert reviews, product purchase benefits and offers, product utilisation ideas that help users enjoy games more, and game-related news.

“Gaming has become an important part of consumers’ lifestyle, not just entertainment, especially for Millennials and Gen Z,” said Evelyn Kim, Executive Vice President of the D2C Center at Samsung Electronics. “We will implement various initiatives to provide customers with a superior gaming experience, from purchase to use, by providing an environment that makes it enjoyable and easy to purchase gaming-related products.”

Notable products to be available on the portal are the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which is optimised for mobile gaming with its high-performance Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy and 5000mAh battery[1]; the Neo QLED TV, which allows users to enjoy cloud gaming without a separate console through the Samsung Gaming Hub; and the Odyssey OLED G9 monitor, which provides an unparalleled immersive gaming experience with its 49-inch curved OLED screen.

To celebrate the launch of the Game Portal, Samsung is offering[2] discounts on bundles of gaming devices, as well as a variety of regional purchasing incentives centered on its recently launched Odyssey gaming monitor and Neo QLED 8K products.

The gaming industry is one of the few sectors that continues to grow. Given this trend, Samsung has been engaged in various activities to strengthen its leadership in the industry, including enhancing the competitiveness of its gaming-related products and services. Opening the Samsung Game Portal is a key move in this direction that paves the way for further growth. For more information, please visit https://www.samsung.com/game-portal.

LONDON, UK – December 23, 2021 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced today that select 2022 4K and 8K TVs and gaming monitors will support the new HDR10+

LONDON, UK – December 23, 2021 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced today that select 2022 4K and 8K TVs and gaming monitors will support the new HDR10+ GAMING standard, delivering the immersive, ultra-responsive HDR gaming experience to gamers. The new, cutting-edge HDR gameplay will be unveiled at CES 2022 along with a list of 4K and 8K game titles, all powered by NVIDIA GPUs.

“We are extremely proud to announce that the new HDR10+ GAMING standard will be adopted by Samsung’s 2022 Neo QLED line up with the Q70 TV series and above and gaming monitors, allowing users to enjoy a game-changing experience through cutting-edge visuals and richer, life-like images,” said Seokwoo Yong, Executive Vice President and Head of R&D Team, Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “Samsung will continue to invest in users’ viewing experiences as technology continues to advance and provide enhanced new features and capabilities.”

Advanced HDR Technology Maintains the Artistic Intent of Game Developers

This new standard, developed by HDR10+ Technologies, LLC, gives game developers the tools they need to provide gamers with a compelling and consistent HDR gaming experience without the need for manual calibration across a variety of display technologies for various input sources, including consoles, PCs and more.

Samsung’s 2022 TV and gaming monitor lineup will support the HDR10+ GAMING standard by allowing automated HDR calibration that provides stunning picture quality to meet game developers’ demand. This translates into one of the most responsive and accurate gaming experiences available to date.

By removing the need for manual settings when games are loaded, something previously only possible with movie and television content, the game engine automatically optimises video game content in real-time. This feature ensures details in the dark shadows and preserves the brightest highlights so that gamers can see and react to everything on the screen. It also configures the display to “true reference mode”, providing better color, also without the need for gamers to spend additional time with game settings.

Several gaming companies, including Saber Interactive, are expected to showcase their HDR10+ GAMING titles during the upcoming CES 2022.

“We are very excited to help usher in a new era of video game picture quality. By adopting HDR10+ GAMING, gamers of all ages will enjoy cutting-edge visuals for the best overall gaming experience,” said Todd Hollenshead, Head of Publishing at Saber Interactive. “The HDR10+ GAMING standard is genuinely raising the bar, and we are proud to be at the forefront of bringing it to market with games like Redout 2, the fastest 8K anti-gravity racer ever made, and with Pinball FX, the king of digital pinball, brought to life in a brand-new way.”

Game Mechanic Studios is also showcasing their HDR10+ GAMING title “Happy Trails and the Kidnapped Princess,” which will be available in 2022.

HDR10+ Continues to Expand with Industry Support and Adoption for Premium HDR Experiences

HDR10+ brings superior picture quality by optimising brightness and contrast scene-by-scene or frame-by-frame, with more accurate colour expression.

Introduced four years ago, HDR10+ has built robust support across the industry, with 128 partners and over 4,000 supported devices, including TVs, projectors, smartphones and tablets from more than 28 manufacturers. HDR10+’s metadata also offers flexible reference tone and mapping curve definition for content creators, allowing them to deliver more impactful images exactly as they intended them to be seen.

In addition, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series, RTX 20 Series, and GTX 16 Series GPUs will support the HDR10+ GAMING standard with drivers scheduled for release in 2022.

“NVIDIA GeForce gamers can enjoy a brighter, more vivid and consistent HDR gaming experience on their monitors or TVs from the support of the new HDR10+ GAMING standard,” said Vijay Sharma, Director of Product Management at NVIDIA.
