Samsung’s brand manifesto, ‘Do What You Can’t’ calls on users to defy barriers and do what can’t be done in the everyday. How individuals express themselves depends on the tools they use, and with the ever-expanding world of social media, the opportunity to create and share epic things has never been greater.

In a series of interviews, content creators from across the UK will share their views on all things technology.

Meet PMac, a qualified personal trainer and fitness enthusiast from London. Amassing over 50,000 followers on his Instagram page, PMac’s passion for fitness inspires his followers to push their limits and achieve their fitness goals. He uses the 4G Galaxy Watch to track his workouts and keep ahead of his fitness game.

Why did you start your Instagram page?

Several years ago, my friend told me about the must-have new platform that allows you to share photos with your followers, and she predicted that soon enough everyone would be using it daily. I liked the idea of sharing my life through photos, so I soon created an Instagram account and started to post my workout routines, as fitness is something I’m naturally interested in.

When I started my Instagram page, the platform wasn’t as active and popular as it is now, so I couldn’t have ever predicted that my follower base would grow so much. I’d never have guessed that I’d be able to use my platform to teach my followers all things fitness related, but I’m grateful that Instagram has provided me with an opportunity to educate and inspire others.

Have you always had an interest in fitness?

My interest in fitness started when I was younger and I used to watch a lot of sports, for example, boxing, wrestling and football. I was always interested in how athletes used their bodies to move and how their strong physical form really enabled them to reach their sporting goals. I began to be more mindful of my own physical form and how I could improve my regime to become fitter and healthier in my daily life, and so a passion for fitness was born!

What’s your best fitness tip?

Consistency is the number one key to everything. There will be days where you feel like quitting, but every single person in the world goes through the same thought process at some point in their lives, whether it’s a hard day at work, or struggling to maintain an exercise routine. The people that don’t quit are the ones that succeed, so always keep pushing yourself to be the very best version of yourself and achieve your goals. As I always say: “Don’t be good, be great!”

Why do you like using the Samsung Galaxy Watch during your workouts?

One of my favourite things about the new 4G Galaxy Watch is that it gives me the freedom to work out without having my phone on me, but I’m still able to check my notifications quickly by glancing at my watch. I regularly practice yoga and now I can avoid getting distracted by not having my phone around.

As well as this, I frequently follow the breathing exercises to help me relax and regulate my heart rate before or after my workout session, and it’s also a great way to unwind in the evenings.

What’s your favourite thing about Samsung wearables?

Aside from its brilliant tracking capabilities, I’m a big fan of the design. I love that it’s so versatile and that it has the capabilities of a fitness tracker, but with a smart look so I can wear it on any occasion – whether it’s at a black-tie event or in the gym.

I also really like that I’m able to easily keep track of my step count. I’ve set myself a personal goal of 20,000 steps per day – so wearing my Galaxy Watch reminds me to always keep on the move so I can hit my target.

If you could offer one piece of advice for those new to fitness, what would it be?

Invest in a personal trainer. They’ll teach you invaluable lessons on how to build muscle, improve your strength and maintain a fitness programme that’s best for you. If you have the correct guidance, you’ll make much more progress than guessing your way around the gym and not knowing how to make the most out of your workouts. You always need someone to push you to your limits and make sure you’re hitting your goals. Once you know what to do and how to work your body in the right way, you can go it alone as you’ll be familiar with the routine, but it does always help to train with someone else for maximum motivation.

Samsung’s brand manifesto, ‘Do What You Can’t’ calls on users to defy barriers and do what can’t be done in the everyday. How consumers capture moments and express themselves creatively depends on the tools they use, and with the ever-expanding world of social media, the opportunity to create epic things with your smartphone has never been greater.

In a series of interviews, content creators from across the UK will share their views on all things technology.

Meet Chris Fynes, a travel and food photographer and filmmaker from The Cotswolds. Amassing over 24,000 followers on his Instagram page, Chris has had a passion for photography from a young age, and when he began documenting his adventures in food, photography felt like the perfect way for him to express himself. He often uses his versatile Galaxy S9+ to capture content for his social channels.

Why did you start your Instagram page?

I actually started my Instagram on the night of a massive burger festival in London and I was using it to upload images of each burger and then share the image links on Twitter whilst live tweeting from the event! How times have changed, hey?

Have you always had an interest in photography?

I’ve always had a great affinity for photography and film and I’ve made it a mission to build a career in those industries. I think my brain is just wired to appreciate shapes and patterns and I constantly find myself lining up shots even when I don’t have a camera in hand.

What’s your best photography tip?

My best photography tip would be to shoot in Pro mode. It gives you so much more control over your images when editing and it’s why I love the Pro Mode on the Galaxy S9+. Take some time to get to know your camera and what settings work best for each environment or scene.

Why do you like shooting with a Samsung smartphone?

The Galaxy S9+ is my Samsung device of choice. First off the camera is superb and things like super slow-mo and Pro Mode give me more control over my results. The second is the expandable storage which means I can use memory cards to shoot imagery and film without worrying about clogging up the device.

What’s your favourite thing about Samsung smartphones?

That screen is second-to-none and is the perfect place to showcase your final shots. I’d love to create an art gallery where all the frames were in fact a Galaxy Note8 or S9+ and you could display your work on the phone.

If you could offer one piece of advice for photography novices, what would it be?

Shoot as often as possible and use the internet to help hone your craft. Everything I have learnt has been from reading or watching others and then heading out by myself or with friends to experiment with those new ideas. Once you find a style or method of capturing images that you are comfortable with, you will soon flourish and people will start recognising you for your work in that field.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ smartphones reimagine the way we communicate, share and experience the world. Made for the way we increasingly communicate and express ourselves with images, videos and emojis, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ brings innovation with Samsung’s most advanced camera to date. A Dual Aperture lens which adapts like the human to take brilliant pictures whether it’s bright or dark, Super Slow-mo video capabilities and personalised AR Emoji, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ ensure users never miss a moment and make their everyday epic.
