Samsung To Spotlight 2027 Odyssey Lineup at Gamescom 2026

Samsung presented the 2027 Odyssey lineup for the first time during its dedicated Gamescom 2026 session, “#PlaySamsung: The Next Era of Gaming Displays.” The session explored how screen size, resolution, refresh rate, and display modes suit different games and play styles.

The Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SJ model) and Odyssey OLED G7 (G75SJ model) was unveiled on stage, while the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SJ model) and Odyssey G6 (G60H model) were introduced on-screen during the keynote.

As a part of the session, Samsung also spotlighted its HDR10+ GAMING partnership with Activision Blizzard, bringing richer HDR gameplay into the development process for Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 4. The technology helps compatible Odyssey monitors and Samsung displays deliver colour and contrast that more accurately reflect the creative intent of each game. Samsung plans to expand the HDR10+ GAMING ecosystem to more than 20 AAA titles by the first half of 2027.

The company also showcased its expanding Odyssey 3D game support, developed through direct collaboration with game studios. New supported titles, including Cyberpunk 2077 and Cronos: The New Dawn, were presented on stage to demonstrate how Odyssey 3D adds depth and spatial perspective to detailed game worlds.

Odyssey OLED G9: 49-Inch OLED Speed for Ultra-Wide Gameplay

The Odyssey OLED G9 is the world’s first 49-inch DQHD gaming monitor with a 360 Hz refresh rate. It features a fifth-generation QD-OLED panel with Penta Tandem technology. Its five-layer panel structure is up to 1.3 times more efficient and offers up to twice the lifetime of the previous generation. The RGB Stripe sub-pixel layout reduces colour fringing and supports clearer text, while the display reaches a peak brightness of up to 1,300 nits on a 3% window at 4K resolution.¹

Built for players who want a wider field of view without giving up speed, the Odyssey OLED G9 features Dual QHD resolution (5120 x 1440), a 360 Hz refresh rate, a 0.03 ms GtG response time, and Dual Mode support. Players can use DQHD at 360 Hz for a wide, high-resolution view or switch to Dual HD (2560 x 720) at up to 720 Hz when they want even faster performance.

Odyssey OLED G8: 4K OLED Picture Quality and Triple-Mode Speed

The Odyssey OLED G8 is a 32-inch UHD OLED gaming monitor that pairs QD-OLED picture quality with a top refresh rate of 360 Hz for fast, fluid gameplay and Triple Mode support. It features a fifth-generation QD-OLED panel with Penta Tandem technology and RGB Stripe subpixels, and players can switch between UHD at 360 Hz, QHD at 520 Hz and FHD at 680 Hz to balance resolution and speed based on the game, device, and performance settings. Additionally, Samsung Glare Free technology uses a film that is 54% less glossy than conventional anti-reflection film, reducing external reflections for clearer daytime play.²

The monitor also features a 0.03 ms GtG response time, and VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 600.³ It supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and has NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible support⁴ for detailed HDR visuals and smooth gameplay. Connectivity includes one DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20, two HDMI ports, one USB-C port with 98 W Power Delivery, a USB hub with two downstream ports, and KVM support.

Odyssey OLED G7: A New Category with 42-inch Curved OLED Gaming

The Odyssey OLED G7 is the world’s first 42-inch 16:9 curved OLED gaming monitor, with a screen area approximately 72% larger than the previous 32-inch model.⁵ It combines 1000R curvature, 4K OLED picture quality, a 165 Hz refresh rate, and a 0.03 ms GtG response time in an unprecedented configuration for the category. Its curved screen, with a radius of 1,000 mm, brings the edges closer to the player’s line of sight to deliver a massive cinematic view optimized for RPG and open-world games. At the same time, Glare Free technology reduces reflections from external light sources for clearer daytime play.

Odyssey G6: Pushing Competitive Play to 1,100Hz

The 27-inch Odyssey G6 is the world’s first 1,100 Hz gaming monitor built for FPS players who place speed and motion clarity first. It builds on the model introduced at CES 2026 with an upgraded final launch specification of up to 1,100 Hz in HD and up to 600 Hz in QHD through Dual Mode. With a Fast IPS panel and 1 ms response time, the Odyssey G6 gives competitive players the option to prioritize sharper QHD detail or a higher refresh rate. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced that it will be displaying its comprehensive gaming ecosystem spanning PC, console, and mobile games at Gamescom 2026, which is one of the world’s largest gaming events taking place in Cologne, Germany from Aug. 26-30.

Across a 1,090-square-meter exhibition space, Samsung will present its full package of gaming devices under its theme of “#PlaySamsung,” which includes gaming monitors, mobile devices, SSDs, and headsets. The experience will offer visitors hands-on experiences with popular game titles across a variety of genres and play environments.

The space will consist of four dedicated exhibition zones: the Odyssey Zone, Galaxy Zone, Gaming Hub Zone, and T1 Zone. Each will be tailored to different products and gaming environments, allowing visitors to explore a variety of gaming scenarios firsthand.

Additionally, Samsung has introduced Neural Frame Fusion to the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold8. An AI-powered technology that generates pixels and frames in real time, Neural Frame Fusion improves power efficiency in graphics processing, helping maintain high gaming performance for longer and enabling a smoother and more stable gaming experience on Galaxy devices.

Visitors will be able to try the mobile devices firsthand with globally popular games across a variety of genres, including Genshin Impact, Asphalt Legends, Honor of Kings, and more.

Meanwhile, at the Gaming Hub Zone, visitors will be able to experience Samsung Gaming Hub, which enables direct access to cloud gaming through compatible televisions and monitors without connecting to a separate console or downloading games. Bringing the Energy of Korean PC Cafe Culture to Gamescom Through a Variety of Events

Samsung is also bringing the atmosphere of a Korean PC café to Gamescom 2026, creating a unique experience space for global visitors interested in K-culture.

Beyond showcasing its latest technology, the company will host a variety of on-site programs and participatory events including influencer gaming matches and product-reveal events. Visitors can register on the web application and complete missions throughout the booth to earn points redeemable for rewards, such as popular Korean snacks.

Samsung is also preparing a Spatial Signage event, which will utilise glasses-free 3D displays to create immersive experiences. When visitors stand in front of the display after selecting a T1 team member, Spatial Signage will create the impression of meeting that player in real time.

On Aug. 27-28, the World Finals of the #PlayGalaxy Cup in PUBG Mobile will take place on a stage within the booth as 10 elite teams who advanced through global preliminary rounds compete to determine the champion. The stage will host a variety of programs, including a special match between popular gaming influencers, an interactive racing program, SSD influencer talks, and raffle events.

On Aug. 27, Samsung will unveil the full lineup of 2027 Odyssey gaming monitors featuring industry-first technologies and launch its new portable SSD products.

Samsung Gaming Hub Streaming Call of Duty: NEXT
