Restore and Refine With a Single Prompt

When traveling, it’s easy to reach for the fork before snapping a photo. At a café in San Francisco, a cake had already been partially eaten — but with Galaxy S26 Ultra, even that missed moment was easily resolved.

By simply typing, “Make it look uneaten,” Photo Assist^[1] restored the cake to its original form.

Re-Imagine Any Scene After the Shot

Capturing the perfect shot while traveling isn’t always easy. Moments when the scenery, subject and timing align are rare.

Using Photo Assist, a photo of San Francisco’s streets was combined with an image of a passing tram, creating a seamless result — as if taken in a single moment.

Another notable feature is the ability to change the time of day. After uploading a daytime photo of San Francisco’s harbor and entering prompts such as “Make it look like sunset” or “Turn it into a night scene,” Galaxy AI adjusted the sky and lighting to recreate the scene at a different time of day.

Turn Photos Into Artistic Creations

After capturing a scene of sea lions at Pier 39 — one of San Francisco’s iconic landmarks — the photo was imported into Creative Studio. Selecting the Oil painting style, Galaxy AI^[2] analysed the image’s texture and colors, transforming it into an oil painting-style image.

The result is re-imagined with a different aesthetic, making it feel like an entirely new piece.

Create Custom Stickers With Ease

Custom stickers were also created using a photo of sea lions. After launching Creative Studio, selecting an image and choosing a style, tapping “Generate” produced a character sticker that captured the sea lions’ distinctive features.

Users can generate images repeatedly until they achieve the desired result, then choose from seven themes — such as “A slice of Life,” “School days” or “Today’s vibe” — to save the sticker as a themed set.

These stickers can be used not only to decorate photos, but also across text-based apps including messaging and notes.

With Creative Studio, users can transform everyday photos into personalised content, sharing memories in new ways — whether among friends and family or on social media.

Document Scan is built right into the Camera app. Imagine you’re at a doctor’s office and a form needs to be filled out by a family member — you can scan it and send them a clean digital copy instantly. Galaxy S26 recognises the document, removes distortions and distractions such as creases or even a finger in the corner. If there are multiple pages, they can be combined automatically into a single PDF, just like that.

One UI 8.5: What’s New for Content Creation?

One UI 8.5 makes creating and sharing content more intuitive from start to finish. Users can keep generating new images without interruption with the updated Photo Assist^[1]. They can edit photos using Photo Assist features continuously, without needing to save each iteration. When finished, they can easily review all the creations in edit history and pick their favourites to keep.

Sharing is smoother too, thanks to enhancements to Quick Share^[2] which now recognises people in photos and proactively suggests sending them directly to those contacts.

How Does One UI 8.5 Improve Device Connectivity?

New cross-device features make managing devices easier, whether users need to manage files, share their network, or communicate with nearby devices. Audio Broadcast^[3] enables effortless communication with LE Audio-supported devices nearby using Auracast. In addition to audio from media sources, users can now broadcast their voice using their Galaxy phone’s built-in microphone – ideal for group situations like tours or events.

Storage Share^[4] brings even more fluidity to the Galaxy ecosystem by showing files from other Galaxy devices – including tablets and PCs – directly in the My Files app. It also allows users to access their phone’s files from other Samsung devices, including their TV.

How Is My Galaxy Device Staying Protected?

One UI 8.5 strengthens device protection and gives users clearer control over their security settings. Theft Protection keeps phones and their data secure in the case that it is lost or stolen. For additional protection, Failed Authentication Lock automatically locks the screen if there are too many failed attempts to verify identity by fingerprint, PIN or password. Identity check also safeguards more settings than before, adding an extra layer of protection.

Availability

The One UI 8.5 beta program will be first available to Galaxy S25 series users in select markets includingthe UK, Germany, India, Korea, Poland and the U.S. from December 8. Galaxy users can apply to join the beta program via the Samsung Members app.

The poll of 2,000 Brits was specially commissioned by Samsung to mark the launch of the Galaxy S25 FE which comes with Galaxy AI[1] and Generative Edit[2] feature which can remove unwanted people or objects from photos. The results revealed that British adults spend 139 hours or 5.8 days per annum are spent wishing some aspects of their lives had been done differently, with 27 years old revealed as the age where regrettable decisions begin piling up.

Annika Bizon, Mobile Experience VP of Product and Marketing, Samsung UK & Ireland, said: “Our research reveals that 48% of Brits have digitally removed traces of past relationships, with some even hesitant to scroll through old memories. With the Generative Edit feature on the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, you can effortlessly manage and curate your photographs, meaning you no longer have to hit the delete button on your favourite shots”.

Heartbreak loomed large in the study – indeed the survey found that Brits regret two of their former relationships on average as nearly half (48%) admit to deleting every trace of their ex online, with 1.6 billion photos of exes expected to vanish from the digital galleries and social media feeds in 2025 alone.

Actress Patsy Kensit is helping the nation break up with its break ups, starring in a new campaign where she empowers heartbroken Brits to reclaim their memories and start fresh using the new Galaxy S25 FE.

In the video, the star plays agony aunt as she urges Brits to chuck out their ex’s clothes, ditch the moody playlists and more importantly erase exes from photos using Generative Edit[2] in photos so they don’t have to be deleted.
