Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the expansion of its proprietary One UI platform to its home appliance lineup, delivering a unified and intuitive software experience across smartphones, TVs and now smart appliances. As a part of this initiative, smart appliances will be receiving software updates for 7 years after launching [1], starting from 2024-launched home appliances being updated in September [2].

“By bringing One UI to smart appliances, we are transforming the way people interact with technology in their homes,” said Jeong Seung Moon, EVP and Head of the R&D Team of the Digital Appliances (DA) Business at Samsung Electronics. “This consistency ensures that the experience feels natural and familiar across all our devices.”

A Unified Software Experience Across Samsung Products

With One UI, Samsung is unifying the user experience for the product categories of mobile devices, TVs and home appliances through the application of consistent design elements and functionality. This includes Apps & Services like Bixby[3], Gallery and Samsung TV Plus, which are being made available across various types of screens to enable seamless device interaction and media consumption. Device Connectivity is also enhanced through SmartThings, integrating the home’s devices into a unified ecosystem with easy access to helpful services like Family Care, Pet Care and Home Care [4]. When it comes to Common UI, users will get the benefit of familiar interfaces like Now Brief [5], which deliver personalised and relevant information at a glance. Now Brief offers family members a curated selection of useful content, including daily weather updates, family schedules, tailored recipes, and home insights such as how much time is left on the washing machine.

7-Year Software Support for Smart Appliances

Wi-Fi-enabled Samsung home appliances will be eligible for software updates for up to seven years after launching, starting from models launched in 2024. This commitment supports product longevity, enhanced functionality and prolonged security throughout the product lifecycle.

Coming This September: Updates for 2024 Smart Appliances

Beginning in September, eligible 2024 launched models will be receiving various software updates that bring enhancements in usability, intelligence and security:

Upgraded Security: Knox Matrix [6], Samsung’s comprehensive security solution extending protection across devices based on private block chain technology, will be extended to Wi-Fi [7] enabled refrigerators, washers and dryers, air conditioners, EHS, and slide-in induction ranges launched in 2024 [8]. All of these products will be protected through Trust Chain, which allows connected appliances to monitor each other’s security status. Screen-equipped models like the refrigerator with Family Hub or 9” screen and Bespoke AI washers with the 7” screen will also be receiving advanced protections like encrypted Credential Sync and Passkey support. These screen appliances will also be updated with the Knox Security dashboard provided on 2025 models, which allow users to easily monitor the security status of connected appliances in real time.

Smarter Features: Refrigerators with the Family Hub and 9” screens will benefit from the upgraded AI Vision Inside applied to 2025 products, which now supports the recognition of frequently used packaged foods in addition to a larger number of fresh foods [9]. Bixby [10] is also upgraded to support Voice ID, allowing it to recognise user voices and provide personalised experiences on shared devices. Users can also enable Bixby quickly and intuitively by simply double tapping on the screen.

Refined Interface: A refreshed One UI design — first seen on 2025 appliances — will come to 2024 models like refrigerators, washers, ranges and EHS products, offering intuitive navigation and region-specific settings.

By expanding One UI across product lines, Samsung is realising its vision of a cohesive, intelligent and secure home — where users enjoy familiar interfaces, personalised services and consistent control regardless of screen or device.

It recognises food items based on deep learning models, which may be updated periodically to improve accuracy. AI Vision Inside also recognises packaged food items that have been saved by the user, and up to 50 items can be saved with designated names. Packaged items are limited to those that keep a certain packaged form.

With the official start of spring on 20th March and to celebrate the launch of Samsung’s new Bespoke Jet vacuum cleaner, which helps users ditch dust for good, Samsung Electronics (UK) Ltd. polled the nation to understand the ‘top 10’ cleaning jobs they love to show off ahead of visitor season – with ‘a spotless bathroom, with shiny tiles, taps and mirrors’ (34%) topping the list.

The survey of 2,000 UK adults reveals an ‘immaculate kitchen, with small appliances put away and the sink gleaming’ (29%) and ‘a tidy sofa, with plump cushions’ (28%) were ranked second and third on the list respectively, followed by ‘gleaming surfaces, freshly wiped and polished’ (26%).

‘Top 10’ Cleaning Jobs Households Feel Proud to Show Off to Visitors:

A spotless bathroom, with shiny tiles, taps and mirrors – 34%

Immaculate kitchen, with small appliances put away neatly and the sink gleaming – 29%

Tidy sofa, with plump cushions – 28%

Gleaming surfaces, freshly wiped and polished – 26%

A clean and shiny oven, with the silver racks shining – 23%

A beautifully made bed, with plump pillows – 23%

A perfectly clean and tidy fridge – 22%

Neat and tidy cupboards – 21%

Vacuum marks in the carpet, showing where you’ve vacuumed – 18%

A fully defrosted freezer, with clear shelves showing neatly stacked frozen food – 15%

With the official day of spring on 20th March, people across the UK are looking to get stuck in with various spring-cleaning jobs, including cleaning the windows (46%), wiping down the kitchen units (37%), cleaning the oven (37%) and emptying and cleaning the fridge (36%). Whilst the regular cleaning jobs individuals enjoy most are vacuuming (30%), followed by doing the laundry (25%) and making the bed (23%).

The study also looked at the ways individuals are preparing their homes ready to host loved ones in the warmer months ahead. Over half of the nation (52%) are looking to prepare their homes, including cleaning garden furniture (37%), revamping the garden with new plants (34%) and repainting the walls (33%), followed by deep cleaning the carpets (31%), updating home furnishings (31%) and cleaning the BBQ (24%).

The next big occasion that those polled are looking to host loved ones is Easter (21%), with the nation looking to put on drinks (31%), host a BBQ (27%) and organise a garden party (26%). Whilst a roast dinner (23%), takeaway (22%) and dinner party (21%) also made the top of the list.

To give households a helping hand whilst preparing their homes to host this spring/summer, Samsung’s teamed up with ‘cleaninfluencer’, The Organised Mum, who’s shared her sparkling hacks:

Now that the weather is getting a little warmer, don’t be afraid to let the fresh air in. It is the best way to get rid of lingering smells that might have built up without you noticing. After everyone being couped up inside during the winter months, your home will thank you for giving it a good airing. And the best bit? It’s completely free and your home will smell as fresh as a daisy.

It doesn’t matter how much you have scrubbed and tidied, if your home doesn’t smell clean then it might make your visitors turn up their nose. Once you have aired your home, you can now add in some of your favourite scents. A lovely way to do this is to embrace diffusers and your favourite essential oil. Try and stay away from artificial fragrances as they tend to mask bad smells and make them worse. Air your home first and then add in a lovely fresh scent.

Has the housework fallen to the bottom of the list because you have had no visitors? If you feel overwhelmed and don’t know where to start, then begin with a room that you use the most. This will make the biggest visual impact. If you are short on time, stick to the big-ticket items that will make the biggest difference. I always usually start with either the kitchen or the living room (I like to think of these as the engine rooms of the home).

Wash pet bedding and pet bowls. This is often something that gets forgotten about but is so important. Doggy smells are the worst so make sure you pay attention to the source of the smell, the pet bedding, the feeding bowls and maybe even get your pet groomed too. You might love your pet to pieces, but your guests probably won’t appreciate any nasty smells.

As the sun comes out and starts to shine through the windows, it can reveal a layer of dust that has accumulated over the darker months, now is the time to tackle it. Grab a cloth and dampen it ever so slightly. Use this on the dusty surfaces. The damp cloth will trap dust onto the fabric ensuring you are not moving the dust back into the air again.

Use the attachments on your vacuum such as the dedicated one that you can find on the Samsung Bespoke Jet vacuum. Yes, the crevice tool and soft brush attachments are there for a reason! Use the soft brush attachment to run along skirting boards and woodwork and use the crevice tool to get in those hard-to-reach areas that might not have seen a vacuum in a while.

Get mother nature doing a bit of cleaning too. Adding some indoor plants will not only brighten up your home, but certain varieties can help to clean the air. How about trying a Spider Plant?

Look up, can you see any cobwebs? Get that Samsung Bespoke Jet vacuum out again and pop on the soft brush attachment. Get into all the corners of the ceilings and cornicing. Start from one corner of the room and work your way around methodically. Don’t neglect your light fittings, especially fabric lampshades as they can attract a lot of dust. You can use folded over sticky tape to gently lift dirt from a fabric lampshade.

Do you have guests staying overnight? When was the last time you flipped or vacuumed the mattress? Vacuuming the mattress will help get rid of trapped dirt and dust, so will really help an overnight guest who has allergies. If you can (and the weather is on your side) try and get your mattress outside into the fresh air as this will help to get rid of any stale odours. If you are unable to get it outside, then strip the mattress of all sheets and open the windows in the bedroom.

Freshen up rugs by getting them into the fresh air. Try beating as much of the excess dirt out as you can and then vacuum both sides so that you don’t bring the dirt back into your home.

Dan Harvie, VP, Head of Home Appliances, Samsung Electronics (UK) Ltd: “Our research reveals we’re a nation of cleaning loving individuals, with almost a third (29%) deep cleaning their homes every 3-6 months – and 15 per cent more than every three months!

“Vacuuming topped the list of regular cleaning jobs the nation enjoys the most, which is encouraging as we’ve just launched the Bespoke Jet vacuum, a cordless vacuum cleaner with an All-in-One Clean Station that can automatically empty the dust and delivers hygienic cleaning – making spring cleaning even easier.”

When docked, the All-in-One Clean Station is able to empty the dust canister automatically without any fine dust particles escaping[2] thanks to Samsung’s unique Air Pulse technology, whilst also automatically charging the Bespoke Jet vacuum cleaner at the same time.

[1] Tested based on IEC 62885-2, CL.5.11 using the Jet mode by SLG Prüf- und Zertifizierungs GmbH. Results may vary depending on actual usage.

[2] Tested based on IEC 62885-2, CL.5.11 by SLG Prüf- und Zertifizierungs GmbH. Results may vary depending on actual usage. Refers to particles in the size range of 0.5 to 4.2µm.

A 99.999 per cent [1] Multi-Layered Filtration System makes sure that only clean air is released from the Bespoke Jet during cleaning. As air is sucked in, the main cyclone separates large dust particles, which are then picked up in a metal mesh grille filter. A microfilter catches fine dust particles, and finally, a fine dust filter traps micro dust[2] that can easily escape. All the parts and filters are washable, so they can be kept hygienically clean.

Powerful Cleaning in a Lightweight Design

Whether it is being used on hard floors or carpets, the Bespoke Jet provides maximum suction to get the job done efficiently. The on-board Samsung Digital Inverter Motor is 47 per cent lighter than the Jet90’s motor[3] and generates up to 210W[4] of suction power.

With its Jet Cyclone, you can enjoy cleaner air and powerful suction. Featuring a high-efficiency, multi-cyclone structure, the Jet Cyclone creates an optimal air path to reduce air resistance and minimize the loss of suction to hygienically trap fine dust particles sucked into the vacuum cleaner.

The handheld body of the Bespoke Jet weighs just 1.44kg, light enough to manoeuvre and clean the entire house, so you can easily clean the surfaces of chairs and sofas, on top of cabinets and tables, the length of window blinds, the underside of appliances and even up the stairs.

Cleaning Made Convenient

The Bespoke Jet features a convenient LCD Digital Display with support for 28 languages[5] This display gives you all the information you need at a glance including your suction level settings and remaining battery time. It also provides information about any problems, such as clogging, objects stuck in the brush, or missing filters, and provides a guide to help you fix the problem.

The Bespoke Jet has a large capacity battery, despite its high specification features. It can run for up to an hour[6] and even when that time’s up, you can easily swap in a spare battery[7] to extend your cleaning time by up to one hour. Samsung’s unique technology also ensures that it retains 70 per cent of its original performance throughout up to 500 cycles.[8]

To help you clean even hard floors easily, the Bespoke Jet One Pro Extra also comes with an upgraded Spray Spinning Sweeper. Featuring dual spinning wet pads that rotate for up to 100 minutes,[9] it delivers stable, effective cleaning for hard floors. The upgraded Spray Spinning Sweeper also features an easy-to-maintain 150ml water tank, so you can manually spray more water for tougher stains.

As an Estore introductory exclusive, the Bespoke Jet Complete is available to purchase (RRP: £749.99) via Samsung.com from the 21st March 2022.

LONDON, UK – Sunday 6th March 2022 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has today announced the launch of its new 4, 5, 6 and 7 series cooking appliances, including multiple ovens which come with various steam features that promote healthy eating.

The launch comes as new research from Samsung [1]reveals the top five ways Brits have tried to eat healthier, with 70 percent steaming their food to try and eat better, while more than half (53%) have turned to air frying. Other ways people have tried to eat healthier are eating more fruit and vegetables (34%), avoiding sugary foods (25%) and cutting down on saturated fat and sugar (23%).

The Samsung NV7000B and NQ7000B Oven series comes in a choice of four elegant modern colours: Satin Beige, Clean Navy, Clean Black and Black Stainless. They include innovative ways to steam and air fry food to promote healthy eating, including:

Steaming Food:

Full Steam – surrounds food such as vegetables or fresh fish with a vapour of hot steam, so they are cooked optimally and retain their natural flavour and vitamins.

Add Steam – fills the oven with steam, leaving your food tender inside and crispy outside.

Natural Steam – get deliciously succulent and crispy baking results without the need of specialist drawers or other equipment.

Air Frying Food:

The Air Fry mode cooks food using a little oil and without a deep fryer, eliminating excess fat whilst keeping things succulent inside and crispy outside.

Simply place food on the tray with just a touch of oil and select the Air Fry mode.

Air Sous Vide:

Provides even more tender and tastier cooking by accurately sensing the temperature and keeping it even over a long period.

This means everything is cooked thoroughly, wherever it is placed in the oven, and tastes deliciously tender and succulent.

LONDON, UK – Sunday 6th March 2022 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has today announced the launch of a new Bespoke RF8000 French Door Refrigerator, expanding its Bespoke line-up at the KBB Show 2022.

Available as a 4-door model, the new Bespoke RF8000 French Door Refrigerator pairs beautiful design with unique technologies that together inspire entirely new ways of living. Available in Bespoke Colour Metal Navy, the Bespoke Refrigerator is a centrepiece – consumers will be able to customise their décor to complement their personal style, with kitchen packages that include dishwashers and over-the-range microwaves.

Samsung’s Bespoke RF8000 French Door Refrigerator expands on the existing Bespoke refrigerator line-up, which includes the 4-Door Flex and 2-Door fridge Freezer.

Image 1: Samsung Bespoke French Door Refrigerator

London, UK – 10 February 2022– With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, new research from Samsung Electronics UK Ltd reveals Brits’ ‘top 5’ awkward and embarrassing kitchen mishaps when cooking a romantic meal for their partner.

Overcooking or undercooking food topped the list as the most common cooking ‘faux pas’ (20%), closely followed by messing up timings of when to cook everything (19%) and burning the food (18%). Despite being in a relationship, some Brits surprisingly admitted to cooking a dish their partner doesn’t like (15%) or forgetting their loved-one is allergic to an ingredient they have used (15%).

The study by Samsung, to support their innovative Dual Cook Flex ovens, also revealed that fillet steak is likely to feature on many dinner tables this Valentine’s Day, with one in five Brits (20%) saying it’s their all-time favourite dinner date dish. However, Gen Zs did not agree, with a veggie curry topping the list (13%) for their age group.

The research highlighted the growing demand for ‘dine in for two’ style packages, with nearly one in five (17%) Brits planning to purchase one of the packages to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year.

When it came to date night turn offs, talking about ex partners topped the list (33%), followed by work chat (33%), poor table manners (32%) and cheesy music (19%).

To help couples this Valentine’s Day, Samsung enlisted the help of leading dating expert, Sarah Louise Ryan, to provide her top tips on how to have a memorable Valentine’s Day dinner at home, including how to avoid common mishaps and ensure there are no kitchen or oven cooking dramas.

Dress to impress – after a couple of years in our favourite jogging bottoms, Valentine’s Day is an opportunity to pull out all the stops to feel good on the inside and look good on the outside. Dress to impress if you really want to set the date night scene.

Plan food ahead – you don’t want to have any last-minute hiccups with a missing ingredient or two, so plan what you’re both making ahead of time to make cooking hassle free.

You may want to make different dishes – why don’t you both mix it up by cooking a dish each? So your partner could take the starter and dessert, whilst you tackle the main course?

Work as a dream team as you’re working to dish up the romance – it may be the case that one of you is a dab-hand in the kitchen and the other one hasn’t the foggiest clue what to do. Practice lots of patience with one another to keep the flame of the evening firing away, and if needs be, maybe allocate a Chef and a Sous Chef.

Keep all work chat off the table – so many couples use date night as a time to plan and catch up on life admin and the seemingly mundane. Challenge yourself and each other to keep chit chat to strictly all things romance and about you two as a couple.

Topics to talk about – look at planning a holiday, your next weekend trip together or your weekly/monthly date nights. Think about things you’d want to do spontaneously or whilst planning ahead.

Keeping date night exciting – create a date jar where each of you writes down many things on multiple pieces of paper that you would like to do on your date nights – scrunch them up and pull them out one at a time on each date night alternately.

Dishing up dessert – why not rustle up a trio of desserts for you to share as you finish off your at home Valentine’s Day dining experience?

Keeping the night going – think about watching a movie together or playing a game or two for you competitive few. If you’ve been a dream team in the kitchen perhaps you want to set each other to task with competitive spirit. Or for those of you that are ready to wind down, simply relax on the sofa.

Make sure you have fun – Valentine’s Day Date night needn’t be a pressure cooker event. Do it the way you and your partner want to do it, keep it light and fun and playful and exciting. You both deserve to let your hair down and laugh, and who better to do that with than your significant other?

Samsung’s innovative Dual Cook Flex ovens are the perfect appliance to have in your kitchen for everyday use and special occasions such as this Valentine’s Day. With a flexible door and the ability to cook efficiently at two different temperatures and settings within a single cavity, the oven provides endless cooking combinations and ensures you can say goodbye to mealtime dramas.

London, UK – 5th October 2020 – Samsung Electronics UK Ltd. today announced a new cashback incentive on selected home appliances purchased between 16th September and 3rd November 2020. The promotion offers customers the chance to claim between £50 and £300 cashback on their purchases or have the opportunity to donate it to one of Samsung’s chosen charities, simply by registering their purchase online.

“With Brits across the country set to be spending more time than ever in their homes over the autumn and winter months, it’s a great time for people to revaluate their household appliances and ensure they have the best products in place to support their new routines,” says Ruth Storey, Head of Marketing, Home Appliances, Samsung Electronics UK Ltd. “Understanding the many challenges people are facing at the moment, Samsung wants to give something back to its customers and the community, knowing that a small gesture can go a long way.”

Available on a wide range of appliances

The incentive is simple to activate and available on a wide range of refrigerator and laundry appliances. Customers simply buy a qualifying Samsung product and register their appliance on the Samsung Charity Cashback website to unlock the incentive.

Quick and easy registration

Customers can register their new appliance between 30 and 60 days after purchase and all that’s needed is proof of receipt and an appliance serial number. Once registered, customers can choose whether they would like to claim their full cashback value or donate all, or some of it, to one of Samsung’s chosen charities. Customers can split the amount as they chose in five-pound increments, for example for a £200 cashback claim, they can donate £55 to a charity, with the remaining £145 transferred into their bank account. Once validated, the cashback amount will be shared by bank transfer into their account, or the charity’s account, within 30 days.

“Customers who wish to donate their cashback to one of Samsung’s selected charities, can choose between NHS Charities Together, Hubbub and Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. All of these selected charities, Samsung has been working closely with as part of its commitment to ensure everyone can benefit from the promise that technology will improve their world,” added Ruth.
