LONDON, U.K. – January 21, 2026 – Samsung TV Plus announced today that the premium FAST service has surpassed 100 million monthly active users globally, a major milestone as the service celebrates massive growth. With streaming hours increasing 25% year-over-year, engagement also reached new heights in 2025, reinforcing Samsung TV Plus as one of the most-used streaming apps in the world.

In an ever-evolving streaming landscape, Samsung TV Plus stands out by connecting advertisers with highly coveted audiences, including millennial families and influential viewers in a brand-safe environment built for engagement. Driven by industry-leading audience loyalty (92% retention after three months[1]), Samsung TV Plus remains one of the stickiest and most effective streaming services for marketers looking to drive meaningful outcomes.

“Our focus remains on delivering premium, authentic experiences that connect our audiences around the world — and this year’s breakthrough interactive moments, live events, and innovative partnerships show just how powerfully that resonates,” said Salek Brodsky, Senior Vice President & Head of Global, Samsung TV Plus. “Surpassing 100 million monthly active users is an extraordinary milestone that reflects the trust our viewers place in Samsung TV Plus and the team’s commitment to providing exceptional entertainment made for every moment.”

Last year, Samsung TV Plus dominated the cultural zeitgeist with its bold expansion into live events. The service’s foray into fan experiences—most notably the Jonas Brothers’ livestreamed concert series—unlocked the power of Samsung TV Plus’ scale and leveraged its innovative technology. In a standout moment during the livestream of the JONAS 20: Greetings From Your Hometown tour, Samsung TV Plus launched a first-of-its-kind FanVote, which gave fans at home the power to vote for their favourite song via remote, with the winning track performed live on stage. This interactive poll delivered unprecedented results, with an over 13% response rate among CTV viewers, underscoring Samsung TV Plus’ ability to turn passive viewing into active engagement on the biggest screen in the home.

Samsung TV Plus further solidified its position as a home for Creator-led partnerships with some of today’s groundbreaking digital storytellers including Mark Rober, Michelle Khare, Dhar Mann, and Smosh, among others. These milestones —alongside industry-disrupting partnerships with Spotify, David Letterman, and leading sports leagues spanning NHL, MLB, NBA and NFL — continued to solidify Samsung TV Plus as a destination for culturally resonant, premium programming.

Made for everyone and every moment, Samsung TV Plus offers over 4,300 channels globally, all for free – and is available in 30 countries exclusively across Samsung TVs, Samsung Galaxy phones, Galaxy Tab, and Smart Monitor lineups. This includes the new 2026 TV series recently announced at CES, spanning Samsung Micro RGB TV, Neo QLED, OLED, The Frame, The Frame Pro, and more.

[1]Samsung Proprietary Data, 92% retention in month 4 after 3 months of usage for a minimum of 3 minutes each of the 3 months

LAS VEGAS — Jan. 6, 2026 — Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. yesterday held “FAST Forward: How New Streaming Models Are Shaping the Next Generation of TV” as part of its Tech Forum panel series at CES 2026. Taking place at The Wynn in Las Vegas, Nevada, the panel brought together leaders from entertainment and media to explore the evolution of streaming and the rapid rise of free-ad-supported television (FAST).

The session highlighted the interconnected relationship between today’s rapidly evolving consumer behaviours and preferences, the transformation of content by technology and monetization models, the expanding role of creators as studios and the ways in which interactive and live experiences are catalysing a shift from passive viewing into active engagement.

Moderated by Natalie Jarvey of The Ankler, the panel featured Salek Brodsky, SVP and Global Head of Samsung TV Plus; Alessandra Catanese, CEO of Smosh and Bruce Casino, EVP, Sales & Distribution, U.S., NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution.

FAST Gains Momentum as Audiences Recalibrate Value

As audiences grapple with subscription fatigue and a fragmented streaming landscape, the panel focused on how FAST is restoring simplicity and value to television. Samsung TV Plus[1] anchored the conversation as a platform designed to reduce friction, offering hundreds of live and on-demand channels in one free, easily accessible experience across Samsung TVs and devices worldwide.

“The TV experience today can often feel like too much work for the viewer,” said SVP Brodsky. “Our goal with Samsung TV Plus is to simplify television again and combine the power of linear discovery with a modern, connected experience that feels effortless, curated and truly valuable.”

The panellists emphasized that FAST has evolved into a core part of the streaming ecosystem, complementing subscription and traditional models while delivering premium, proven programming at scale. For Samsung TV Plus, that evolution is rooted in shared experiences that elevate viewing and meet users not just where they already are, but where they want to be.

Hybrid Models Redefine the Streaming Ecosystem

Panellists emphasized that the evolution of streaming is less about replacing traditional models and more about expanding how audiences engage with content. FAST, subscription and linear distribution models are increasingly working in tandem, allowing studios to extend the life of proven franchises, reach new viewers and unlock additional value without sacrificing performance elsewhere. By leveraging data, audience behaviour and decades of content insight, media companies are deploying FAST to complement existing channels and create a more resilient and diversified ecosystem.

EVP Bruce Casino highlighted how this approach has enabled NBCUniversal to bring both classic and contemporary content to FAST audiences while continuing to see strong performance across platforms. “FAST doesn’t replace traditional distribution, it extends it,” said Casino. “What we’re seeing is that when great content shows up in multiple places, it creates incremental value rather than cannibalization — allowing franchises to thrive across FAST, streaming and linear channels.”

Creators Emerge as the New Studios

The panel also examined how the changing nature of consumer habits and television platforms means content creators do not have to work exclusively with legacy studios to reach a broad audience. As this medium expands from social platforms to the living room, FAST is helping bridge digital culture and traditional TV, while also serving to elevate its production quality.

Samsung TV Plus was highlighted as a platform that helps creators evolve from digital-first brands into full-fledged television studios, helping expand reach, unlock new monetization opportunities and introduce content to broader, global audiences.

One of the clearest examples of a brand that has taken the step from digital-first brand to legitimate TV studio is sketch comedy-improv collective Smosh. By launching a FAST channel with Samsung TV Plus, Smosh has been able to strengthen its connection with its already-dedicated fans while gaining access to a much larger viewer base. Due to this evolution, Smosh has enhanced long-term growth.

“Partnering with Samsung TV Plus allowed us to elevate our production quality and invest in the future of the Smosh brand,” said CEO Alessandra Catanese. “It was the right platform to help us reach a broader audience while positioning our content in a premium environment that supports where we’re headed as a company.”

Live and Interactive Experiences Drive Engagement

Looking beyond on-demand viewing, panellists discussed how live programming like concerts and interactivity are reshaping the television experience by creating shared moments that audiences actively participate in.

With features such as synchronized premieres and real-time participation, technology is transforming television from a passive activity into an interactive experience — fostering connection, excitement and a sense of belonging that brings viewers together organically. Together, the panellists agreed that the future of television will be defined by flexibility, cultural connection and experiences that invite participation, not just consumption.

“Authentic content that creates cultural connection and brings people together is what matters most,” said SVP Brodsky. “That’s why we’re investing in live events, creator programming and interactive formats that remind people why TV has always been the centre of the home.”

As streaming continues to evolve, Samsung is focused on helping shape a TV ecosystem that delivers value for viewers, opportunity for creators and scale for advertisers, — redefining what television can be in 2026 and beyond.

[1] Samsung account and internet connection required.

EXPERIENCE — Feel Fallout Season Two Come to Life on Samsung TVs

Brought to life in cinematic form on Samsung TVs, Fallout returns to Prime Video on December 17 for its most ambitious season yet, inviting viewers deeper into the story. To celebrate the Fallout Season Two release, Samsung and Prime Video are offering a first look at Fallout through a series of co-branded creatives presented on Samsung’s owned and operated channels, including digital billboards in New York City’s Times Square.

“Prime Video is committed to finding creative and groundbreaking approaches to bring our content to audiences worldwide,” said Emily Aldis, Global Head of Distribution and Partnerships for Prime Video. “Prime Video’s established partnership with Samsung enables us to enhance the viewing experience for our shared customers through engaging off-screen marketing collaborations and seamless integration of the Prime Video app on Samsung Smart TVs.”

PLAY — Explore Fallout 76: Burning Springs Instantly on Samsung Gaming Hub

Now playable with Xbox Game Pass via the Xbox app on Samsung Gaming Hub, Fallout 76: Burning Springs marks the game’s largest expansion yet, opening new frontiers in post-nuclear Ohio just before the television series begins.

“When Jonah and I first talked about bringing Fallout to the screen, it was always about doing the world of the games right, but also bringing to life new stories in that world,” said Todd Howard, Game Director at Bethesda. “Now with ‘The Ghoul’ coming to Fallout 76, it shows how connected all these stories are. To have Walton bring his unique blend of swagger to the game is awesome. He’s a brilliant actor.”

Fallout fans can jump between the game and series[3] and, for the first time, interact with The Ghoul, the enigmatic gunslinger from the Fallout television series voiced by the actor Walton Goggins himself. The crossover unites both worlds, pulling players directly into the Fallout universe as it expands in new ways.

With Samsung, the Fallout story spans streaming, breathtaking picture quality and in-game exploration on a single screen without ever leaving your seat.

“This collaboration is a perfect example of how Samsung continues to redefine entertainment by connecting experiences across all entertainment mediums,” said Kevin Beatty, Head of Product for Samsung Gaming, Interactive Experiences, and Emerging Tech. “Whether you are exploring the wasteland and playing on Samsung Gaming Hub, reliving Season One on Samsung TV Plus, or watching Season Two through Prime Video on Samsung TVs, Samsung devices are the best place to fully experience the Fallout universe.”

Fans can also experience the action of Fallout 76: Burning Springs through Twitch with a custom chat badge for viewers who subscribe or gift a sub to any streamer in the Fallout 76 category from December 2 to December 31.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced a partnership with the London Korean Film Festival (LKFF), as the company brings hundreds of hours of K-content to Samsung TV Plus, one of the world’s largest streaming services.

Samsung TV Plus, available for free on Samsung TVs, Galaxy devices and Samsung Smart Monitor, features an extensive range of free K-content programming and will have a total of 13 channels live from November 2025 across the UK and Europe[1]. Hundreds of hours of K-content will be available, including K-Pop, K-Drama, K-Movies and K-Entertainment from channels New KPOP, NEW KDRAMA, New KMovies, and more.

London Korean Film Festival

Now celebrating its 20th anniversary, LKFF is one of the longest running film festivals dedicated to Korean cinema outside the country itself. Featuring the world premiere of Kim Jong-kwan’s Frosted Window as the opening film and Woo Min-ho’s Harbin as the closing film, this milestone edition will honour the vibrant present and rich history of Korean filmmaking with its signature strands — Cinema Now, Women’s Voices, and Special Screenings.

The festival opened with the world premiere of Frosted Window (2025), an anthology film that gives an honest portrayal of the human condition through three episodes, each set in a different season, in the Seochon neighbourhood of Seoul’s Jongno District.

“The London Korean Film Festival makes a fantastic partner for Samsung”, comments Benjamin Braun, Chief Marketing Office, Samsung Europe. “We know K-culture is increasingly popular in Europe, and that’s reflected in our bringing hundreds of hours of K-content to Samsung TV Plus. Now, a wide audience can enjoy the best content Korea has to offer from the comfort of their homes across Europe.”

The London Korean Film Festival’s Opening Ceremony was held on the evening of November 5 2025 at the BFI Southbank in London, UK. The festival runs until November 18 2025.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the expansion of its proprietary One UI platform to its home appliance lineup, delivering a unified and intuitive software experience across smartphones, TVs and now smart appliances. As a part of this initiative, smart appliances will be receiving software updates for 7 years after launching [1], starting from 2024-launched home appliances being updated in September [2].

“By bringing One UI to smart appliances, we are transforming the way people interact with technology in their homes,” said Jeong Seung Moon, EVP and Head of the R&D Team of the Digital Appliances (DA) Business at Samsung Electronics. “This consistency ensures that the experience feels natural and familiar across all our devices.”

A Unified Software Experience Across Samsung Products

With One UI, Samsung is unifying the user experience for the product categories of mobile devices, TVs and home appliances through the application of consistent design elements and functionality. This includes Apps & Services like Bixby[3], Gallery and Samsung TV Plus, which are being made available across various types of screens to enable seamless device interaction and media consumption. Device Connectivity is also enhanced through SmartThings, integrating the home’s devices into a unified ecosystem with easy access to helpful services like Family Care, Pet Care and Home Care [4]. When it comes to Common UI, users will get the benefit of familiar interfaces like Now Brief [5], which deliver personalised and relevant information at a glance. Now Brief offers family members a curated selection of useful content, including daily weather updates, family schedules, tailored recipes, and home insights such as how much time is left on the washing machine.

7-Year Software Support for Smart Appliances

Wi-Fi-enabled Samsung home appliances will be eligible for software updates for up to seven years after launching, starting from models launched in 2024. This commitment supports product longevity, enhanced functionality and prolonged security throughout the product lifecycle.

Coming This September: Updates for 2024 Smart Appliances

Beginning in September, eligible 2024 launched models will be receiving various software updates that bring enhancements in usability, intelligence and security:

Upgraded Security: Knox Matrix [6], Samsung’s comprehensive security solution extending protection across devices based on private block chain technology, will be extended to Wi-Fi [7] enabled refrigerators, washers and dryers, air conditioners, EHS, and slide-in induction ranges launched in 2024 [8]. All of these products will be protected through Trust Chain, which allows connected appliances to monitor each other’s security status. Screen-equipped models like the refrigerator with Family Hub or 9” screen and Bespoke AI washers with the 7” screen will also be receiving advanced protections like encrypted Credential Sync and Passkey support. These screen appliances will also be updated with the Knox Security dashboard provided on 2025 models, which allow users to easily monitor the security status of connected appliances in real time.

Smarter Features: Refrigerators with the Family Hub and 9” screens will benefit from the upgraded AI Vision Inside applied to 2025 products, which now supports the recognition of frequently used packaged foods in addition to a larger number of fresh foods [9]. Bixby [10] is also upgraded to support Voice ID, allowing it to recognise user voices and provide personalised experiences on shared devices. Users can also enable Bixby quickly and intuitively by simply double tapping on the screen.

Refined Interface: A refreshed One UI design — first seen on 2025 appliances — will come to 2024 models like refrigerators, washers, ranges and EHS products, offering intuitive navigation and region-specific settings.

By expanding One UI across product lines, Samsung is realising its vision of a cohesive, intelligent and secure home — where users enjoy familiar interfaces, personalised services and consistent control regardless of screen or device.

It also reflects a growing appetite among sports fans for premium content without the paywall – an opportunity World Rugby is seizing to build fandom at scale.

As part of the collaboration, Samsung TV Plus will showcase RugbyPass TV’s winning blend of live content, including rugby sevens, original programming documentaries and series, classic matches and in-depth analysis, ensuring something for all sports fans.

World Rugby Chief Executive Alan Gilpin said: “With the U.S. and U.K. representing two of rugby’s most important and promising markets, this exciting collaboration with Samsung TV Plus is a major milestone in our journey to grow the game globally. Through RugbyPass TV FAST, we’re bringing the excitement, diversity, and global appeal of the game to more fans, in more homes, than ever before.”

Head of Samsung TV Plus EMEA Gus Grimaldi added: “RugbyPass TV is a global leader in rugby content, and we’re thrilled to bring their first-ever FAST channel to Samsung TV Plus users in the UK. This launch not only enhances our sports offering but introduces a beloved sport to new fans by removing the paywall.”

With women’s rugby at the forefront of World Rugby’s content and growth strategy, the FAST channel launch reinforces a forward-looking vision that embraces innovation, inclusion, and long-term legacy — in both established and emerging rugby nations.
