Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd today announced a strategic partnership with Fortress GB, a global leader in sports fan engagement and access technology. The partnership will see Fortress GB’s real time access, loyalty, and campaign engine integrated into Samsung Wallet, providing millions of sports fans with a seamless, end to end digital experience for live events.

Through this partnership, fans of sports teams, venues and event organisers powered by Fortress GB, whose client base includes the Premier League, MLB, NFL, NBA, MLS, NHL and USGA, plus major events like Live Nation concerts, can store tickets, season passes and memberships directly in Samsung Wallet. Beyond access, the integration unlocks personalised matchday experiences with real time offers, loyalty rewards and tailored incentives, directly through Samsung Wallet.

Fortress GB brings 25 years of sports industry experience and a client base of over 160 teams, venues and events worldwide. By integrating Fortress GB’s platform with Samsung’s advanced NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, the partnership ensures a seamless stadium entry process for fans, where devices work seamlessly with Fortress’s mobile scanning and multidimensional credential management systems.

Samsung Wallet gives Samsung Galaxy users a single, secure destination for essentials including payment cards, passes and various digital keys. Its integration across the broader Samsung Galaxy ecosystem allows for smooth connectivity and enhanced security designed to support users’ daily routines.

Once a compatible Toyota vehicle is linked to Samsung Wallet, Samsung Galaxy users can use their smartphone to access and start the vehicle without the need for a physical key, with Ultra-Wideband (UWB)[2] technology enabling hands-free entry and Near Field Communication (NFC)[3] technology. UWB technology, a standardised communication protocol set by the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC), also strengthens overall security by reducing the risk of unauthorized vehicle access with precise and reliable functionality. Galaxy users can also share their Digital Keys with trusted contacts through Samsung Wallet. This shared access can be updated or revoked at any time, providing flexibility for multi-driver households or temporary use.

As part of Samsung Wallet, Digital Keys are securely stored directly on the device and protected by Samsung Knox[4], Samsung’s industry-leading security platform. Digital Keys meet rigorous EAL6+[5] certification standards, providing robust protection against unauthorised access and ensuring that sensitive key information remains safeguarded within the device.

If a device containing a Digital Key is lost or stolen, users can remotely lock or delete the key through the Samsung Find service. With biometric or PIN authentication in place, Samsung Wallet adds an extra layer of protection to help ensure secure and private vehicle interactions.

Availability

Digital Key functionality for select 2026 Toyota RAV4 models will begin rolling out this month in the United Kingdom, aligned with the launch timeline of Toyota vehicles.

The service provides banks and card issuers with a swift and cost-effective means of expanding their digital wallet offerings.

More Than a Payment Service

Millions of users worldwide already rely on Samsung Pay every day for simple mobile payments. Building on that success, Samsung Wallet gives users a refined interface and one-swipe access to their payment, loyalty and membership cards.

Samsung Wallet will also incorporate the functionality of securely storing passwords for digital access to accounts from Samsung Pass which securely stores passwords and enables users to quickly and easily log into apps and services^[2].

As secure as it is simple, protected by Samsung Knox

Samsung Wallet is protected by a defence-grade security platform, Samsung Knox. Protection includes fingerprint recognition and encryption which help safeguards users’ sensitive data, so only the device owner can access their important information. Along with Samsung Knox, certain key sensitive items in Samsung Wallet are stored in an isolated environment – the embedded Secure Element, which also helps protect against digital and physical hacking.
