Samsung UK celebrated 20 consecutive years as the world’s leading TV brand with an exclusive event for 80 retailers, partners and media at BAFTA in London.

The event celebrated both past achievements alongside a focus on the future of entertainment. It showcased the very latest technologies from OLED and The Frame Pro through to the Music Studio speakers and the 115” Micro RGB, that were all on show on the night.

Dan Harvie, VP of Home Entertainment and Appliances for SEUK and Ireland, opened the night by reflecting on the company’s journey to date, its relentless drive for innovation and its pivotal role in the future of home entertainment. He spoke of the transformation from the humble black-and-white model to today’s TVs that provide a gateway to immersive AI experiences.

Partners and media were then treated to a special evening of food and drinks in a room that was lit up with astounding projection mapping at the exclusive venue. There were celebratory red, green and blue cocktails replicating ‘RGB’ and guests were treated to an enthralling discussion between two of UK TVs most popular personalities.

As March kicks off one of the busiest months of the year for the property market, new research from Samsung reveals how the right artwork could increase the value of your home. This could potentially see an increase by as much as £3,000 – rising to £7,000 for homes valued at £450,000 according to experts[1].

According to research from Samsung, it takes as little as three minutes for buyers to form an opinion on a property. Recognising the importance of that critical first impression, the brand has launched an industry-first scheme helping homeowners use art strategically to elevate their interiors – and their asking price. With nearly half (43%) of Brits admitting that attractive artwork would make them more inclined to raise their offer on a property, the initiative presents a smart opportunity for sellers to elevate their space.

Participants can get their hands on Samsung’s The Frame TV, that offers a unique blend of technology and art – doubling up as a picture frame that can display up to 4,000+ different artworks[2] when it’s not in use or in standby mode. The limited-run scheme launches to support sellers by using the impact of art to help boost or encourage their sale, creating that striking moment as potential buyers walk into a property. Samsung’s research shows a fifth (20%) of Brits agree the right artwork makes them feel emotionally connected to a space.

Property expert Jonathan Rolande, who examined the difference the presence of art had on perceived value of different UK homes currently on the market, comments:

“I’ve witnessed first-hand how a buyer’s reaction and decision is often made within the first 90 seconds of walking through the front door. It’s an emotional reflex. When a TV seamlessly blends into the space as curated artwork, it elevates that all-important first impression and helps sellers’ effectively bridge the emotional gap between a house and a home. The tangible price uplift moves it from being a simple design choice to a savvy financial move. In a competitive market, you must sell lifestyle, not just the bricks and mortar of a property.”

The scheme, which launches today, is open to anyone who currently has a property on the market. To apply, house sellers should email Samsung Frame Loan with proof of their address and property listing. The Frame TV will then be lent out on a first come, first served basis with the hope of enhancing that initial impact.

To help sellers decide what art they should display to get the sale over the line, Samsung has also partnered with Colour and Design Psychologist Karen Haller, who identified the visual cues most likely to influence buyer behaviour. To impress prospective buyers, Karen recommends:

Softly does it. Softened, low intensity colours that incorporate a gentle contrast can take the edge off a space, helping buyers settle in and feel at ease.

Go all natural. Pictures of nature, like landscapes and foliage, feel grounding and reassuring, helping buyers picture themselves at home.

Simple is best. Artwork with clear structure and breathing space is easier to process, allowing buyers to absorb the whole room without visual stress.

Inspire calm. Still water, open horizons and scenes of quiet moments encourage viewers to linger longer in a room, building a lasting connection.

Off the back of her insight, Karen recommends paintings with muted tones like ‘Abrielle’ by Petros Koublis, or forest scenes like that depicted in Aya Okawa’s ‘Ancient’, as her top picks to help potential buyers feel at home. Both pieces are among the 4,000+ artworks available via the Art Store with The Frame TV[3].

For those unable to take advantage of the loan scheme, incorporating art thoughtfully throughout a space can still play a powerful role in shaping first impressions. For those mindful of how a television sits within a room’s design, options such as The Frame are designed to minimise visual distraction. With a matte, glare-free display[4] and the ability to showcase digital artwork when not in use, it allows the screen to sit more harmoniously within a gallery wall or carefully considered aesthetics.

Zeena Hill, Marketing Director for Home Entertainment & Appliances at Samsung UK, said:

“When people step into a home, they’re not just measuring square footage, they’re envisioning a lifestyle. With The Frame, sellers unlock the power to transform any space into a dynamic canvas, blending cutting-edge picture quality with artistic elegance.

“The Frame range is a gateway to an ever-evolving gallery of masterpieces. Homeowners gain unlimited access to iconic classics, breathtaking modern artworks, and stunning photography, all curated to enhance their living space. With rich, authentic Pantone-validated colours and a sleek Matte finish, The Frame ensures a cinematic masterpiece or a timeless artwork, making it the ultimate centerpiece for any room. TV when it’s on, art when it’s off.”

Samsung The Frame and The Frame Pro are the perfect TVs to elevate any home. Both models boast glare-free Matte Displays so sunlight and windows won’t impact the display of artwork in true, vivid colour, resulting in an authentic art viewing experience in any home.

The Frame Pro owners can also eliminate clutter with a wireless connection that means you can plug in your gaming console and your set-top box up to 10 metres away from your TV, leaving your masterpiece uncluttered and cable free[5].

[1] According to two property valuators, estimating the value of a home with and without artwork on the walls

[3]Art Store subscription and Samsung Account connection required to access full selection of artwork.

LONDON, UK – January 16, 2024 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced that its 2024 edition of The Frame has earned Pantone Validated ArtfulColor certification from Pantone[1], a globally renowned authority in colour standards. This certification highlights The Frame’s advanced adaptive colour technology, which ensures an exceptional colour reproduction capability that meets Pantone’s rigorous standards for authentic colour that is nearly indistinguishable to the human eye under standard lighting conditions.

“Consumers are expecting more out of The Frame,” said Yongjae Kim, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “Our aim is to always provide the best possible customer experience, and in the case of The Frame, this is accomplished by giving users a display that portrays art in a way that is true-to-life. We’ve achieved this with the Pantone Validated ArtfulColour certification and will continue to work towards optimising the viewing experience further.”

Pantone Validated ArtfulColor evaluates if displays can faithfully simulate a range of physical Pantone Color cards and Pantone SkinTone colour cards under CIE[2] standard illuminant D65, which portrays illumination that is more-or-less equivalent to that of the average midday light in Western or Northern Europe. The Frame is the world’s first display in the industry to meet this stringent validation, reaffirming Samsung’s leadership in colour fidelity that was first recognized by previous Pantone Validated status across all QLED TVs in 2022.[3]

“After evaluating Samsung The Frame in standardised ambient lighting, we were very pleased with the high quality of the on-screen Pantone colour reproduction,” said Iain Pike, Senior Global Director of Product and Licensing at Pantone. “These results are duly reflected in the award of the world’s first television to earn the Pantone Validated ArtfulColor designation. Visually, we can also confirm the lifelike quality of the displayed colours and skin tones compared to the physical swatch cards, as observed by our technical team during the evaluation process. This is a truly unique, value-added capability of Samsung The Frame we tested.”

The Frame’s Art Mode is specifically designed to exhibit artwork and photographs with true-to-life colours under standard lighting conditions such as at homes or galleries. It offers viewers an immersive and authentic art viewing experience by intelligently adjusting brightness and hues to optimise the image for ambient lighting conditions.

Leveraging Samsung’s cutting-edge QLED display technology, The Frame has previously received Pantone Validated and SkinTone Validated approvals for its precise emissive rendering of the full gamut of Pantone SkinTone colours and the vast spectrum of all 2,390 colours contained within the Pantone Matching System (PMS). The Frame also comes with a Matte Display — which significantly reduces glare and reflections — bringing the extensive collection of approximately 2,300 artworks from the Samsung Art Store to life.

LONDON, UK – 3rd May 2023– Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd As people around the world prepare to celebrate the historic Coronation, Samsung has licensed pet artworks from Royal Collection Trust –a charity which oversees the Royal Collection and one of the world’s largest private art gatherings – bringing some of its furry, four-legged subjects to millions of homes this spring.

The Samsung Art Store – which enables Samsung The Frame users to continuously transform any space with over 2,100 pieces of digital art[1], including works from the most renowned artists, museums, and industry tastemakers – is today unveiling its Royal Dogs collection[2]. Comprising 14 pieces, the range offers digital versions of works depicting the royal family’s beloved pets throughout history. Featured artists include Charles Burton Barber, Sir Edwin Landseer, Thomas Musgrove Joy, Gilbert Sprague and George Stubbs.

To mark the launch, Samsung is hosting a public gallery to showcase the digital Royal Dog Art Collection at its experience space, Samsung KX, in London King’s Cross. From now until 1st June 2023, visitors from the capital and afar can view the collection displayed on Samsung’s award-winning lifestyle TV, The Frame, which uses an innovative digital canvas to immerse viewers in epic QLED picture quality experiences.

Royal Collection Trust manages and cares for the Royal Collection, one of the most important art collections in the world, and ensures that the Collection and palaces are valued and enjoyed by everyone.

The collection with Samsung comes as the UK hosts its first coronation in almost 70 years, dating back to the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. Whilst Queen Elizabeth II was well known for her love of corgis, the royal family has a long history with a variety of breeds, including the aptly named King Charles spaniel stemming from Charles I’s 17th century reign.[3]

Dan Hastings, Director TV/AV at Samsung Electronics said “By licensing new artworks from the Royal Collection, we’re delighted to continue to make art of this kind more accessible, especially ahead of this important moment in the royal calendar. The Frame’s catalogue of art, through the Samsung Art Store, has grown significantly over the years and we’re excited for people to experience it without the need to head to a gallery or museum. Thanks to Samsung’s premium and innovative TV offering, users can look forward to an unparalleled digital viewing experience.”

To join in the fun, new customers can also get access to a 2-month free trial of the Samsung Art Store, giving them access to over 2,100 artworks from the world’s biggest museums and art institutions, when they purchase a Samsung The Frame TV[4].

Since the launch of The Frame in 2017, Samsung Electronics has strived to make artwork more attainable for all. The Frame Art Store* allows for extraordinary, one-of-a-kind art selections to be accessible to consumers from the comfort of their own homes. Iconic institutions, art collectives and independent artists alike have all contributed to the Art Store’s ever-expanding selection, allowing users to enjoy more than 1,600 works of art suited to their unique styles and tastes.

The Art Store’s growing popularity has also provided rising artists a platform for their work to be seen by millions of art enthusiasts and design lovers worldwide. In particular, the Minted X Samsung The Frame partnership has allowed independent artists from more than 100 countries to have their work displayed alongside iconic works from renowned artists and institutions.

Samsung Newsroom sat down with Mariam Naficy, Founder, co-CEO and Chairman of Minted, about the Minted x Samsung The Frame partnership and how this technology empowers artists with more opportunities.

Q: Can you tell us more about how technology enables you to carry out your mission to help new artists and make art more accessible?

It can be challenging for new artists to reach a large audience in the art world. Our mission has always been to showcase the best in independent design to consumers everywhere, regardless of an artist’s background.

For instance, Minted holds open art and design challenges that allow anyone in the world to submit their art or design. Our customers vote for their favorite submissions, and Minted’s proprietary algorithms parse through millions of these votes to determine the winning designs. This crowdsourcing process champions inclusivity while bringing fresh and trendy designs to market. Together with The Frame and the Art Store, we are proud to create a pathway for independent artists to display their work digitally in millions of homes.

▲ Mariam Naficy, Founder, co-CEO and Chairman of Minted

Q: What made you decide to collaborate with the Art Store?

The Art Store shares Minted’s commitment to helping consumers discover and support artists. Samsung has curated incredible art, including works from prestigious museums around the world. We’re honored to see art from Minted artists in the same digital gallery as the classic or traditional masterpieces. By bringing the art of up-and-coming and emerging artists into peoples’ homes, Samsung is fostering inclusivity and accessibility, which are two values that are important to Minted.

Q: Can you share with us an artist success story that was made possible with Minted?

All the artists who have been featured in the Art Store have such diverse backgrounds, career paths and personal stories. For example, Bethania Lima, a Brazilian surface designer living in Uruguay, has grown her business through Minted — and has had the opportunity to bring her work into even more homes worldwide through our partnership with the Art Store.

Q: What are some advantages of displaying art on The Frame vs more typical ways of accessing art such as visiting art galleries or exhibitions?

In many homes, the television is in a room that serves as a gathering place, and bringing art into your home is a wonderful way to share the beauty of design with friends and family. Displaying unique art on The Frame turns an everyday living space into your own dynamic gallery that can be enjoyed from the comfort of your home with the people you love.

The Art Store’s audience has continued to grow, which has led to larger earnings opportunities and greater success for featured artists. We also love the curated, thematic lists that help people discover art in the Art Store.

Q: How has your own work evolved since you first partnered with Samsung?

Minted’s ongoing design competitions ensure that we always have the latest in art and design, and we’re very excited to have refreshed the Minted Art collection for the Art Store this year. It’s the first major refresh of our assortment since we launched, which is very exciting. Our new collection features a diverse group of artists and new art trends.

Q: What pieces would you recommend for users to enjoy through The Frame’s Art Mode?

“Everything Changes”, Fernanda Martinez

Fernanda Martinez is an Oakland, California-based artist and founder of La Tinta Art. She explores the subject’s relation with the environment through her abstract paintings and murals incorporating natural elements as themes. With an experimental and intuitive approach to her work, her pieces are unique statements that represent feelings of connection, expansion and growth. In particular, Martinez’s artwork “Everything Changes” was inspired by a sunny day in the city. Combining the yellows and browns from city buildings with vibrant golds, oranges and blues creates a unique and modern composition.

“Festooned”, Brandy Brown

Brandy Brown is the creative director of Marabou Design. As a wife and mother, she crafts with the idea of her modern family and their extraordinary friends in mind. Her background is in graphic arts, and she believes that function and clean design go hand in hand. Much like her personality, her aesthetic is described as both playful and smart. In her piece “Festooned”, Brown wanted to depict the serenity of a BIPOC[1]woman holding a lush arrangement of florals. Just as flowers come in many varieties and colors, Brown wanted to capture the vast spectrum of femininity through her digital art.

“Linear Abstract”, Raven Erebus

Raven Erebus is a Silicon Valley-based artist who worked as a software engineer before turning to art full time when her health declined. Erebus’s work discovers the magic in the everyday world around us and is often inspired by her immediate environments, as she has a chronic disability. Erebus explains that her simple pen and ink drawings, like “A Long Ray Around”, consist of interlocking lines inspired by the shapes found in nature. The lines create pathways, rays and arches resulting in a soothing minimalist design that is perfect for modern decor.

To see the latest crowdsourced art pieces from the Minted x Samsung partnership, head to the Art Store on The Frame.

LONDON, UK – January 13, 2022 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced that its 2022 QLED and Lifestyle TVs have been recognised by leading global certification institutes for eye safety and colour technology. The news comes as the company announced its newest QLED and Lifestyle TVs at CES 2022.

The 2022 Samsung Lifestyle TVs won the ‘Eye Care’ Certification from Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker (VDE) in Germany, one of Europe’s largest technical-scientific associations with more than 36,000 members. The certification applies to Samsung’s 2022 Lifestyle TV models including The Frame, The Serif and The Sero. The screens are evaluated on various categories, including ‘Safety’, ‘Gentle to the eyes’, flicker level, uniformity, and colour fidelity.

(From left) Seokwoo Yong, EVP and Head of R&D Team, Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics and Cherif Kedir, President & CEO of VDE

The new Lifestyle TVs were assessed for safety from blue light emission and melatonin inhibition levels based on a light hazard classification method set by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Samsung’s 2022 Lifestyle TVs satisfy the IEC’s standards for screen flickering, which can cause eye fatigue or headache for viewers. They were also recognised for excellence in colour fidelity and picture quality uniformity, both elements of which contribute to eye comfort level while watching TV.

(From left) Seokwoo Yong, EVP and Head of R&D Team, Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics and Wyatt Brannan, Vice President of North America Consumer, Medical & Information Technology of UL

Samsung’s 2022 Lifestyle TVs[1] were also verified as ‘Glare-Free’ by Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a leading independent safety science company. UL’s verification validates the ‘Glare-Free’ claim by assessing the products against Unified Glare Rating (UGR) testing standard set by the International Commission on Illumination (CIE). Samsung’s new Lifestyle TV models use a new Matte Display with anti-glare, anti-reflection and anti-fingerprint properties to deliver the optimal brightness and provide the best picture quality without glare.

Reflected Glare, which determines whether the objects on a TV screen are visible even when external light is reflected on the surface

Discomfort Glare, which determines whether a TV screen is too bright

Disability Glare, which determines whether a TV screen is overly bright when watching TV in a dark room

These glare assessments were calculated based on test results of watching TV in both 300 lux, which is equivalent to a brightly lit work area, and in 70 lux, which is usually the value for a dimly lit work area.

(From left) Seokwoo Yong, EVP and Head of R&D Team, Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics and Raj Shah, Vice President at Marketing of Pantone

Additionally, Samsung’s all new 2022 QLED models received the world’s first ‘Pantone Validated’ certification from Pantone, the world-famous brand in the global colour industry and creator of the Pantone Matching System (PMS).

These models receiving this recognition from Pantone include all 20 newly released models – 15 QLED TVs in both 4K and 8K and five monitors. Samsung’s 2022 QLED TV line-up was recognised for its accurate expression of 2,030 Pantone colours and newly added 110 skin tone shades.

“As TVs become more of an entertainment hub in the home, there’s an increased demand for screens with top-tier picture quality that minimize eye strain,” said Seokwoo Yong, Executive Vice President and Head of R&D Team, Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “This recognition from leading global institutes validates our technology that delivers best-in-class images along with the most comfortable watching experience.”

[1] Applicable to Samsung’s 2022 Lifestyle TVs consisting of The Frame, The Serif and The Sero.

Going beyond the conventional idea of what a TV is, Samsung’s leading range of lifestyle TVs are true pieces of interior décor that allow users to express themselves in their own spaces. Whether you’re looking for a TV that can double as an art frame, a screen to display portrait as well as landscape-oriented content on, or a TV whose design speaks for itself, there’s something for everyone in the range.

In order to get to know more about how users around the world are enjoying their Samsung lifestyle TVs, Samsung Newsroom reached out to a range of influencers and trailblazers within different creative industries.

Adèle & Maxime, French Graphic Designers With an Interest in How Objects Work With Their Interiors

“Samsung’s lifestyle TVs blend in with the décor, becoming an aesthetic element in their own right – all with simplicity and lightness.”

Q: As designers and illustrators yourselves, what do you think about the design of Samsung’s lifestyle TVs?

A: The design of Samsung TVs is very interesting because, once placed, they become a modern and active object in our interiors. They blend in with the décor, becoming an aesthetic element in their own right – all with simplicity and lightness.

Q: Samsung has partnered with some artists on the design of their lifestyle TVs. What are your thoughts on such partnerships that blend technological innovation with artistic creativity?

A: The idea of opening up the design of an everyday object to creators is something that is very important to us. Technological objects can lose their simplicity and poetry by merit of their design, but by collaborating with creative people, we can bring this issue to the forefront to resolve it.

Virro & Lola, A Mexican-French Photographer and Creative Professional Duo With a Passion for Travel

“Samsung’s lifestyle TVs combine art, aesthetics, interior design and entertainment, making them go far beyond the television function – which is really revolutionary.”

Q: Along with your professional pursuits, you are known for your joint Instagram page where you share your favourite travel experiences. What do you think about The Serif with which you can view your own media and memories?

A: We used to hate the black screen of the TV in our living room, so Ambient Mode is one of the features we love most about The Serif. It’s really cool that Samsung regularly introduces new content for Ambient Mode, but mostly, we’re keen on showcasing our own media and having it on display for ourselves and our guests.

Q: Virro – as a photographer, what is it about Samsung’s lifestyle TVs that appeals to you the most?

A: First of all, thanks to their QLED screens, the image quality is impressive. In addition, Samsung’s lifestyle TVs combine art, aesthetics, interior design and entertainment, making them go far beyond the television function – which is really revolutionary.

Q: Lola – what is your favourite thing about The Serif?

A: What I love most about The Serif is that it’s a TV that doesn’t look like one. Being passionate about interior design, I believe that The Serif is a beautiful, unique and bold addition to a living space.

Kyal & Kara, Australian Renovators Who Like to Think Outside the Box

“The ability to view either your own or world-renowned media on The Frame means that there are infinite ways to create a look and feel unique to each individual.”

Q: How do Samsung’s lifestyle TVs factor into your daily household routines and activities?

A: With two young children and an active lifestyle, we really value our relaxation time together as a family, and Samsung’s lifestyle TVs play a big part in this. On the weekends, we love our movie time together as a family, and the kids love choosing artwork from the Art Store for The Frame we have in our rumpus room – it’s a great way for them to take ownership of the space.

Q: Samsung’s The Frame combines technology with aesthetic for seamless TV experiences. What are your favourite features of the TV?

A: The two standout features for us are the TV’s thin, streamlined design and the customisable bezel. We’re all about creating spaces that evoke emotion as you enter the room, and the ability to view either your own or world-renowned media on the TV means that there are infinite ways to create a look and feel unique to each individual.

Q: What tips would you provide to users looking to match their Samsung lifestyle TV to their interior?

A: We have three key tips. Tip 1: function first – work out how you’d like your TV to be displayed. The Serif is a great option for angular spaces where wall mounting or units are not an option.

Tip 2: find your inspiration. From colour palettes to other décor pieces, be sure to know what’s important in your space. Finally, tip 3: create a style unique to you. Ask yourself what vibe you’re looking for with your space. For example, if you prefer minimal interior styling, The Frame with a white bezel would be the perfect choice.

Lotte Meister, an American Interior Decorator and Stager Who Loves When Function Meets Style

“The Serif feels both retro and modern at the same time and doesn’t take up too much visual space the way a TV on a console table might.”

Q: Samsung’s lifestyle TVs are developed to be able to fit into any interior space and aesthetic. What are your thoughts on the design of The Serif? What do you like most about it?

A: The Serif’s clean lines and cool vibe make it a decorative element in its own right. What’s more, the sloped ceilings of our bedroom did not permit a flat screen to be hung on the wall, yet we wanted to be able to watch TV in bed. The Serif was the perfect solution. It feels both retro and modern at the same time and doesn’t take up too much visual space the way a TV on a console table might. The hidden wiring is also genius – the decorator and stager in me loves the look!

Q: What about The Frame? What do you like most about it?

A: We have 3 homes across New York state, each with completely different aesthetics. We have a Frame TV in each of these homes, and it looks great in each location. I love it because it looks like another piece of art and doesn’t scream “Look at me, I’m a TV!”. The choice of finishes available for The Frame make it work in every style of home.

Jin-woong Son, a Korean Furniture Designer With a Passion for the Harmony of the Interior

“The Frame’s bezel is so refined that the joints fit perfectly when you switch out your bezel – like puzzle piece slotting into place.”

Q: As a professional furniture designer, do you have any special criteria in mind when choosing a TV?

A: I would never choose a product that doesn’t harmonize with the space it is to be placed in, which is why I currently use The Frame, as I like how it can be used as an actual art frame when the screen is turned off.

On top of that, you can easily change The Frame’s bezel color to match your changing interior any time you want, something that you can’t do with most electronics. Furthermore, the bezel’s joints are designed at a 45° angle, and as a furniture designer, this strikes me as amazingly sophisticated. The bezel is so refined that the joints fit perfectly when you switch out your bezel – like puzzle pieces slotting into place.

Q: These days, the demand for lifestyle TVs that are able to merge seamlessly into a user’s space is on the rise. What are your thoughts on this trend?

A: In the past, the TV used to play the role of gathering family members all together in the living space while also providing entertainment. These days, however, the role of TVs has become much more about providing multifaceted entertainment experiences, as well as serving as statement furniture pieces.

For those living in a small space, The Serif makes the perfect choice – as opposed to, say, a huge wall-mounted TV – as it makes use of the space it takes up by serving as a sophisticated interior décor item that stands on its own as a piece of furniture.

London, UK – September 16, 2021 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced a new partnership with the iconic Musée du Louvre. Through this partnership, Samsung will continue to develop the Art Store on its Lifestyle TV, The Frame, through an exclusive artwork partnership with the Louvre in Paris, France.

With new artworks from the Louvre joining the collection, The Frame now boasts a catalogue of over 1,500 works of art from 43 different countries[1], that consumers can enjoy in 4K picture quality[2] from museums and galleries around the world, including the Prado Museum in Madrid, the Albertina Museum in Vienna, the Tate Modern in London, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the Hermitage State Museum in Saint Petersburg and LUMAS.

“Ever since we launched our Lifestyle TV portfolio in 2017, we have focused on developing the Art Store platform with prestigious partners. We want to offer much more than a television, inviting Art into the homes of The Frame owners everywhere. This catalog lists works by hundreds of artists, covering diverse periods, from ancient civilizations to modern art,” explained Wonjin Lee, President and Head of Service Biz Team at Samsung Electronics. “This year, we are proud to join forces with one of the most famous museums in the world, the Louvre, to enhance this collection and offer a taste of French heritage throughout the world.”

Admire the Louvre’s treasures from your own home

By entering into a partnership with the Louvre[3], Samsung offers all The Frame owners a chance to explore the most visited museum in the world through forty pieces of art and photographs. This selection includes must-see masterpieces such as the Mona Lisa and The Wedding Feast at Cana, as well as photos of the majestic Louvre galleries, its architecture and museum grounds (Louvre Pyramid, Tuileries Garden, etc.). A short description of each work gives users a glimpse into their background and history.

Samsung and the Louvre also plan to unveil other exclusive content for The Frame users later this year.

“The Louvre is a venue of discovery, imbued with emotion, a spectacular setting for artistic masterpieces. Admiring works from its collection every day, at home, as well as views of the building, galleries and gardens, is a wonderful way to see and understand the extraordinary beauty of this museum,” said Yann Le Touher, Head of Development, Brand Licensing and Commercial Partnerships of the Louvre.

Ultra-slim design and exceptional picture quality

The Frame boasts a unique and customisable design[4] that sets it apart from the rest. Designed to be a TV when it’s on and art when it’s off, The Frame is an innovative digital canvas that reflects an individual’s personal style. The 2021 version of the Lifestyle TV offers new custom options to complement every space and style, with two frame designs: modern (available in white, teak and brown) and bevelled (available in white and brick red)[5].

To complete the artwork appeal, The Frame can be hung flush to the wall on an ultra-slim mount and connected to a One Connect box via a single translucent[6] cable that integrates all TV connectors including the power source. Users can also set The Frame anywhere in the room on a Studio Stand[7].

In addition to its gallery-ready design, The Frame provides a vibrant 4K[8] QLED picture quality powered by Quantum Dot Technology that allows 100% colour volume[9], immersing viewers in a world of rich and realistic colours.

About the Musée du Louvre

Formerly a royal palace, the Louvre has embraced the history of France for eight centuries. Open to the public since 1793, the Louvre collections are among the finest in the world, encompassing several thousands of years and spread across a large territory from America to the confines of Asia. Divided among eight departments, the collections feature works admired throughout the globe, including the Mona Lisa, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, and the Venus de Milo.

After the French Revolution, the Louvre was created as a place where artists could admire the great masters and look for inspiration. Even today, the Louvre remains a place of inspiration for the greatest contemporary creators, architects, painters, sculptors, dancers, and musicians.
