SEOUL, Korea \u2013 March 19, 2017 \u2013 <\/strong><\/span>Samsung Electronics<\/strong> <\/a>announced today that its 2017 QLED TV line-up <\/a>has been certified by the UHD Alliance (UHDA)<\/a> <\/strong>as ULTRA HD PREMIUM\u2122<\/strong>. The certification encompasses the 2017 QLED TV portfolio, including the Q9, Q8 and Q7 models.<\/p>\n

The UHDA\u2019s ULTRA HD PREMIUM\u2122 logo identifies products and services that meet or exceed strict performance levels for 4K resolution, high-dynamic range (HDR), and wide color spectrum. These specifications enable televisions, content and other external devices, such as UHD Blu-ray players, to fully display content in its richest form, allowing the consumer to experience a more accurate content experience from their living rooms.<\/p>\n

Announced<\/a> at CES 2017, the QLED TV lineup features dramatically improved color performance displaying the DCI-P3* color space accurately and \u2013 in another world first for Samsung \u2013 can reproduce 100 percent color volume. This means Samsung\u2019s new QLED TVs can express all colors at any level of brightness \u2013 with even the subtlest differences visible at the QLED\u2019s peak luminance \u2013 exceeding UHDA requirements.\u00a0 This breakthrough is a result of Samsung\u2019s adoption of a new metal Quantum Dot material, making it possible for the TV to express a significantly improved range of color with much greater detail compared to conventional TVs. With picture quality a top priority for consumers around the world, Samsung\u2019s 2017 QLED TVs represent yet another leap forward in home entertainment.<\/p>\n
