Nearly 4,000 employees donated 16,000 hours of service to more than 50 community non-profit organizations focused on enhancing health, education and sustainability, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Local Boys &amp; Girls Club of America<\/li>\n<li>GrowNYC in New York<\/li>\n<li>After-School All-Stars in New Jersey<\/li>\n<li>Special Olympics Texas<\/li>\n<li>Techbridge Girls in California<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cDay of Service is an opportunity to come together in the way we serve our community,\u201d said Gregory Lee, President and CEO, Samsung North America. \u201cIt\u2019s a chance for Samsung employees to experience firsthand how non-profit organizations contribute to their local community and illustrates the commitment we make long term as a company to serve others in need.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt gives me honor to be part of a company that gives back and to be part of this experience; it\u2019s very rewarding,\u201d said Oanh Nguy, Quality Assurance Engineer, Samsung Electronics America.<\/p>\n<p>Many of the organizations Samsung parters with during the Day of Service share the same passion for community. Whether they participated in after-school activities, provided career workshop training, planted resources for city residents or assisted the disabled, it was a rewarding experience for all.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s these one-on-one moments that I find to be the most rewarding,\u201d said Joe Stinziano, Executive Vice President, Consumer Electronics &amp; Enterprise IT, Samsung Electronics America. \u201cThe impact Samsung has through the Day of Service is incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel great being out here with my coworkers, all pitching in together trying to accomplish something for our community,\u201d commented Scott Messina, Sr. Product Manager, Customer Care, Samsung Electronics America.<\/p>\n<p>One of Samsung\u2019s core tenets is being an active corporate citizen. As such, the organization is committed to giving back to the communities where employees work and live. Day of Service stems from the Samsung Gives initiative, which creates service opportunities for employees to connect to meaningful causes within their own communities. Since its inception in 2014, Day of Service has provided over 96,000 hours of service to more than 60 local charities nationwide.
