The U.S. Air Force can now easily purchase Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets through its cellular Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) from major telecommunications carriers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Air Force recognizes how critical mobile technology is to driving workforce transformation and tactical productivity,\u201d <strong>said Chris Balcik, Vice President of Federal Government Sales at Samsung Electronics America<\/strong>. \u201cOur goal is to maximize capability wherever the mission takes our military with Samsung\u2019s hardware and software solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This milestone now gives the Air Force the ability to leverage the advanced and customizable features of the Samsung solution and join other Samsung federal customers across the DoD, the intelligence community, and civilian agencies. Samsung\u2019s flagship smartphones and tablets are based on the Android operating system and are supported by Samsung\u2019s defense-grade <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samsung.com\/us\/business\/solutions\/samsung-knox\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Knox<\/a> security platform. As a testament to Samsung\u2019s unique approach to mobile security through the Knox platform, its devices are regularly used for classified work by the military.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs an Air Force veteran, it\u2019s so exciting to see our solutions being tested and used to drive tactical advantage and business process improvement,\u201d <strong>said Don Logan, Samsung Air Force Account Executive<\/strong>. \u201cWe are committed to helping the Air Force fully leverage the benefits of a mobile smart device ecosystem through our technology, training and services expertise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Samsung\u2019s latest S9 smartphone \u2013 equipped with Band-14 for public safety \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/news.samsung.com\/us\/samsung-devices-achieve-approval-u-s-department-defense\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">is now on the Department of Defense Information Network Approved Products List (DODIN APL)<\/a>, and Samsung is working to have this device added to the Air Force BPA. Samsung specializes in active, hardened and tactical editions of smartphones and tablets recognizing the need for these solutions as a part of integrated military mobility systems.
