Samsung\u2019s Corporate Citizenship team will provide cash funds to three food banks across the Carolinas that are working tirelessly to provide for the communities most affected by the storm.<\/p>\n<p>These donations are intended to help some of the Carolina\u2019s most effective and hard-hit food relief organizations to sustain their operations and serve the expanded population in need as a result of Hurricane Florence. These donations include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$100,000 to the Food Bank of Central &amp; Eastern North Carolina, a community organization centered in the heavily impacted areas of Wilmington, NC, and New Bern, NC.<\/li>\n<li>$100,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, an organization spanning 19 counties in North Carolina and five in South Carolina.<\/li>\n<li>$50,000 to Harvest Hope Food Bank, a current partner of SEA and Samsung Electronics Home Appliance (SEHA) based in South Carolina.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cWe have employees, customers, business partners and community partners who have been tremendously affected by this storm and the continued flooding in the Carolinas,\u201d <strong>said Ann Woo, Senior Director of Corporate Citizenship for Samsung Electronics America<\/strong>. \u201cWe know that in the toughest of times, a warm meal and the certainty that families and children will have enough to eat is the first step to recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With employees across the Carolinas and facilities in Huntersville, North Carolina and Simpsonville, South Carolina, along with employees at Samsung Electronics Home Appliance in Newberry, South Carolina, Hurricane Florence affected many of Samsung\u2019s U.S. employees. These direct donations will go towards helping the communities where we live and work get back on their feet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith several locations across the Carolinas, including a manufacturing plant in Newberry, SC, we thrive when our communities thrive, and we are deeply concerned for their well-being when natural disasters upend lives,\u201d <strong>said Woo<\/strong>. \u201cThese donations are a mark of Samsung\u2019s commitment to our employees and neighbors both now and through the rebuilding process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Samsung\u2019s contributions to local communities come to life through its \u2018Samsung Gives\u2019 philanthropic programming.
