Samsung Electronics, principal sponsor of the India Mobile Congress 2018 in New Delhi, is providing a glimpse of India\u2019s 5G future with a variety of activities that display its global innovation prowess. The company is illustrating the many ways that 5G will impact people all over the country, and how it will enhance their lives at homes, stadiums, streets and farms through Samsung\u2019s 5G solutions.<\/p>\n

Samsung also announced its plan for India\u2019s first large-scale 5G trial, scheduled to take place in the first quarter of 2019 in collaboration with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).<\/p>\n

In his keynote speech at the event, Youngky Kim, President and Head of Networks Business at Samsung Electronics, said<\/strong>, \u201cSamsung will pave the way for 5G to unlock the full potential of India together with industry leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are witnessing a rise in adoption of new technologies, inspired by \u2018Digital India\u2019 and spurred by the transition to 4G,\u201d he said<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The event is being attended by VIP dignitaries that include Indian government and industry leaders.<\/p>\n

Leading Disruptive Changes Using 4G in Digital India<\/h4>\n

Since 2012, Samsung has been a key partner of the Indian telecommunications industry. During President Kim\u2019s keynote speech at the IMC, he said that Samsung has successfully built the world\u2019s largest greenfield and the most advanced 4G LTE networks nationwide by partnering with Reliance Jio.<\/p>\n

Mr. Kim added that by Diwali, Samsung will have delivered its 4G LTE solutions to 99 percent of the Indian population, equivalent to 1.3 billion people.<\/p>\n

Samsung has been leading the industry to build the bridge connecting 4G and 5G. Encouraged by its achievements in 4G, Samsung will continue to support India to accelerate its digital transformation and preparations as its 5G future unfolds.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

First of its Kind 5G Demo<\/h4>\n

At IMC 2018, Samsung is showcasing how its 5G solutions can enable a variety of 5G-powered business models and scenarios, including: 5G home broadband services, Smart Cities and Smart Agriculture.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Samsung\u2019s 5G Skyship, which was developed in partnership with Korea Telecom, will be flying over the exhibition center to demonstrate first response use cases.<\/p>\n

Samsung has been a pioneer in developing 5G solutions using its technology and experience. With its successful development of the first commercial ASIC-based 5G modems and mmWave RFICs, the company has been manufacturing compact-sized 5G radio and router devices and CPEs.<\/p>\n

Samsung\u2019s years of commitment to R&D investments since 2000 have come to fruition, as the company has been selected by the world\u2019s leading operators such Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and SK Telecom for both 4G and 5G solutions and services. At the root of this achievement are Samsung\u2019s end-to-end solutions spanning network equipment, devices, chipsets and the world\u2019s-first regulatory approval of 5G equipment by the US Federal Communications Commission.
