New York, N.Y. \u2013 September 17, 2015 \u2013\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Samsung<\/strong><\/a> hosted its annual star-studded Hope for\u00a0<\/span>Children benefit gala (#SamsungGives<\/a><\/em>) today featuring celebrity guests Ben Stiller, Tony\u00a0<\/span>Bennett, Josh Lucas and Rob Thomas. The event, held at the Manhattan Center in New York\u00a0<\/span>City, honored Samsung\u2019s guests and partners, including Brad Pitt\u2019s Make It Right Foundation,<\/span>who have helped to improve children\u2019s lives and communities in the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n

With more than 700 guests in attendance, the event raised $2 million to benefit children\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>health and education programs. \u00a0One hundred percent of the gala proceeds and additional\u00a0<\/span>funds raised by Samsung throughout the year under its Hope for Children initiative go directly\u00a0<\/span>to the charities. New to this year\u2019s gala, lucky Galaxy Samsung+ members were invited to <\/span>attend an exclusive gala party and live music showcase featuring Nick Cannon and Icona Pop\u00a0<\/span>followed by a concert performance by Demi Lovato.<\/span><\/p>\n

Samsung Hope for Children, the company\u2019s global corporate social responsibility platform,<\/span>brings together the company, its retail partners, and a network of charitable organizations\u00a0<\/span>associated with renowned public figures. Over the course of its 14-year history,\u00a0<\/span>Samsung\u00a0<\/span>philanthropic efforts have contributed more than $46 million helping more than 1,000 schools,<\/span>hospitals, and foundations throughout the U.S.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brad Pitt\u2019s Make It Right Foundation Honored<\/span><\/h4>\n

Make It Right, founded by Brad Pitt, was honored with the \u201cChampion of Hope\u201d award for the <\/span>organization\u2019s efforts building hundreds of solar-powered, affordable homes for families in <\/span>need around the United States. Ben Stiller presented the award to homeowner Leslie Archie,<\/span>who talked about her journey and the impact the organization had on her community, the\u00a0<\/span>Lower 9th Ward, after Hurricane Katrina.<\/span><\/p>\n
