{"id":26159,"date":"2019-03-04T17:00:05","date_gmt":"2019-03-04T22:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.samsung.com\/us\/?p=26159"},"modified":"2019-11-01T15:17:04","modified_gmt":"2019-11-01T19:17:04","slug":"galaxy-s10-earns-displaymates-highest-ever-grade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.samsung.com\/us\/galaxy-s10-earns-displaymates-highest-ever-grade\/","title":{"rendered":"Galaxy S10 Earns DisplayMate\u2019s Highest-Ever A+ Grade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another bar-raising mobile display, another record-breaking rating from the industry\u2019s authority on display technologies.<\/p>\n<p>After a comprehensive evaluation process, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.displaymate.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DisplayMate Technologies<\/a> has deemed the <a href=\"http:\/\/news.samsung.com\/us\/galaxy-s10-interactive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Galaxy S10<\/a>\u2019s display \u201cthe most color accurate display that we have ever tested,  almost certainly considerably better than your existing smartphone, 4K UHD TV, tablet, laptop, and computer monitor.\u201d Like the Galaxy Note9 and Galaxy S9 before it, the Galaxy S10 established or matched several smartphone display performance records during DisplayMate\u2019s extensive tests, ultimately becoming the latest flagship Galaxy device to earn the firm\u2019s highest-ever \u201cExcellent A+\u201d grade.<\/p>\n<p>Compared to the Galaxy S9, DisplayMate Technologies says the Galaxy S10 offers markedly better outdoor visibility, power consumption, color accuracy, and more.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring a peak luminance of 1215 nits, the Galaxy S10\u2019s display is approximately 17 percent brighter than the Galaxy S9, and produces crisp, vibrant visuals when users need them \u2013 such as when they\u2019re outside and under direct sunlight, or in environments with lots of ambient light. And with a relative power efficiency rating of 1.54 watts \u2013 an improvement on the Galaxy S9\u2019s 1.70-watt rating \u2013 the Galaxy S10\u2019s display is not only brighter than last year\u2019s model, but also more energy efficient.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to being the first mobile display to support HDR10+, a next-generation open standard for high dynamic range (HDR) video, the Galaxy S10\u2019s display has been verified by DisplayMate to offer record-setting color accuracy. Its 0.4 Just Noticeable Color Difference (JNCD) rating in the DCI-P3 color range is a marked improvement over the Galaxy S9\u2019s 0.7 JNCD score.
