The Skills Competition, which was hosted virtually, honors technicians who have been asked to go above and beyond during the pandemic and encouraged competition through a series of challenges. By supporting our branded engineers&#8217; development, the goal is that their desire to be a part of the industry will grow.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-43258\" src=\"https:\/\/img.us.news.samsung.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/24112905\/skills-competition.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"676\" height=\"479\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Even amidst the pandemic, the Care team has remained agile. Key changes were implemented that have enhanced the way they support customers \u2013 both virtually and for in-home service visits \u2013 which was reflected in the Skills Competition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year, we focused on \u201ctriage services\u201d\u2014which means diagnosing an issue prior to arriving on the scene,\u201d <strong>shared Nicholas Webert, Director of Product Support and Training at Samsung.<\/strong> \u201cThis increased our first-time fix for appliances and TVs. Not only has this new way of problem-solving increased customer satisfaction, but it has helped decrease the number of in-home visits required.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-43259\" src=\"https:\/\/img.us.news.samsung.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/24113209\/skills-competition-2020.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"532\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Samsung has nearly 700+ branded engineers and has seen a 65% growth in the workforce since April 2019. This year\u2019s competition featured Samsung\u2019s strongest and largest competitor pool yet\u2014welcoming 30 branded engineers from across the country. The Skills Competition ultimately creates an ecosystem of expert branded engineers, building a better customer experience and showcasing technician roles as an exciting career opportunity. Tasks included a quiz, lightning round, repair scenarios and more. The level of support we\u2019re receiving and level of where Samsung is taking this is far and above anything I\u2019ve experienced in the service industry,\u201d <strong>shared Dan Cone, owner of Cone Appliance Repair and manager of George Hollis, 1<sup>st<\/sup> Place HA Winner.<\/strong> \u201cIt\u2019s not about the money.
