Like millions of fans, I can\u2019t wait for Sunday\u2019s Big Game \u2013 partly to cheer on my favorite team, but also because of the action that will unfold at SoFi Stadium<\/a> – the most technologically advanced football venue made possible by the next-generation of display technology from another one of my teams: Samsung<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I feel like a kid again, overwhelmed with excitement for being part of the team that delivered a one-of-a-kind experience for football fans. This is the culmination of a series of events that comes together very rarely.\u00a0The fact that my favorite team gets to play in the big game, at their home stadium, and that the visual fan experience was furnished by Samsung, is surreal.\u00a0Pride doesn\u2019t begin to describe my feelings about this, and it will be great to share with fans how the technology came together.<\/p>\n

Right as fans enter SoFi Stadium, their eyes will be immediately drawn to the Infinity Screen by Samsung \u2013 the largest videoboard ever created in sports. Truly immersive, its design is the first-of-its-kind as the only dual-sided, center-hung videoboard.<\/p>\n

Positioned 122 feet above the playing field, the oval display spans 70,000 square feet and features approximately 80 million pixels enhancing the in-stadium fan experience like never before \u2013 from larger-than-life instant replays and up-close game action in stunning 4K resolution to game stats, interactive updates and more.<\/p>\n

Samsung\u2019s advanced technology offers the largest graphics control system in the history of sports, as each LED panel has the capability to be uniquely or congruently programmed with statistics, live and animated content \u2013 and the screen\u2019s unique size and shape make it longer and wider than the field of play.<\/p>\n

In fact, delivering the best viewing angles for fans was one of Samsung\u2019s highest priorities. By using the measurements from the stadium architectural drawings and simulating viewing angles on the test screen, Samsung implemented the Infinity Screen to ensure that every seat in the stadium offers a great view of the videoboard. We didn\u2019t forget the sound experience either \u2013 the display is equipped with a state-of-the-art audio system with more than 260 individual JBL by Harman speakers embedded into its frame \u2013\u00a0 equal to 1,500 home theater systems.<\/p>\n

Samsung didn\u2019t stop there. We worked with the stadium to bring in other Samsung solutions, including more than 2,600 large format displays, ribbon boards (long, thin LED screens mounted on the face of balconies) and audio equipment. No matter where you are in the stadium, you won\u2019t miss the action on or off the field.<\/p>\n

Every large format display at SoFi Stadium is 4k and utilizes HDR10+ making the picture quality life-like and full of vibrant colors, sharper contrasts and crisper details. The same can be said for any fan who is viewing the game directly from a Samsung TV or compatible devices at home. Thanks to HDR10+ technology, viewers can watch the big game from the comfort of the couch, but with the feeling that they\u2019re at the stadium itself.
