Samsung Electronics America, Inc.,<\/a> an industry leader in the global display market, is helping Syracuse University elevate its campus tour experience with The Wall<\/a> installed in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications<\/a>. The Wall\u2019s MicroLED technology<\/a> provides a vibrant visual canvas<\/a> for highlighting student accomplishments and the school\u2019s world-class learning environment, enabling prospective students to envision their future at Syracuse.<\/p>\n

Renowned architect I.M. Pei received the American Institute of Architects\u2019 National Honor Award for his design of the Newhouse 1 building.<\/p><\/div>\n

The Newhouse School encompasses three buildings on the University\u2019s 721-acre campus. Samsung<\/a> installed The Wall<\/a> in the Dedication Hall, which sits at the heart of the Newhouse 1 building and is the starting point for Newhouse School tours. Opened in 1964, Newhouse 1 is an architectural landmark with its cruciform-shaped design by renowned architect I.M. Pei, best known for his work on the Louvre Pyramid in Paris. When considering a video wall for Dedication Hall, the Newhouse School wanted a solution that would offer a cutting-edge storytelling experience<\/a> while remaining true to Pei\u2019s original design.<\/p>\n

\u201cNewhouse 1\u2019s strong vertical pillars and soaring windows are striking to every person who enters the building,\u201d said Susan Nash, Director of Administration at the Newhouse School. \u201cWe needed an equally stunning display to engage prospective students<\/a> and illuminate the academic opportunities at the Newhouse School. We recognized The Wall\u2019s premium picture quality<\/a> and sleek appearance would deliver the \u2018wow factor\u2019 to make a lasting impression on students and their parents during our campus tours.\u201d<\/p>\n

Syracuse\u2019s unique installation of The Wall utilizes five MicroLED displays that work together as a cohesive video wall, complementing the vertical pillars of I.M. Pei\u2019s original building design.<\/p><\/div>

The Newhouse School partnered with architecture, design and planning firm Gensler and audio-visual solution provider Fusion Digital to support Samsung<\/a> on a custom installation utilizing five MicroLED displays<\/a> that work together as a cohesive video wall. Five thin wooden panels distinguish the individual displays in a layout complementing the vertical pillars that characterize the interior and exterior of the building. The Wall\u2019s<\/a> flexible and modular system enabled an easy installation process, with each display fitting seamlessly with the existing paneled walls in Dedication Hall.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
