Samsung Electronics America<\/a> recently welcomed more than 300 children to its offices in Englewood Cliffs, NJ and Plano, TX for its annual Take Your Child to Work Day. Aligned with this year\u2019s national theme, \u201cThe Future is @ Work<\/strong><\/a>,\u201d the event brought to life an immersive experience designed to inspire the next generation of innovators.<\/p>\n

Following a warm welcome from Michael McDermott<\/strong><\/a>, Executive Vice President, Consumer Electronics Business in New Jersey, as well as Drew Blackard<\/strong>, Senior Vice President, Mobile Product Management and Elliott Davis<\/strong>, Director, Culture and Engagement in Texas, participants kicked off the day with an introduction to Samsung\u2019s<\/a> culture, innovation and impact<\/a>. From there, children were grouped and rotated through a series of interactive sessions designed to bring Samsung\u2019s work to life.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt Samsung<\/a>, we believe that our strength comes not only from our cutting-edge technology and innovative products but also from the people who make it all possible. And behind every great employee is a family that supports and inspires them,\u201d said Michael McDermott<\/strong><\/a>. \u201cToday was especially meaningful because I had the chance to welcome my special guest, my son Thomas, and share with him the people and innovation that make Samsung so special.\u201d<\/p>\n

Throughout the day, participants explored sustainability<\/a> through a hands-on activity that encouraged them to rethink everyday materials. Using empty phone and tablet boxes, children created something new while learning that items often seen as waste can have a second life.<\/p>\n

Groups also had the opportunity to learn more about themselves and each other through Culture and Employee Resource Group (ERG) activities. Through arts and crafts, participants reflected on their identities, family backgrounds and personal stories, highlighting the diverse perspectives that help shape Samsung\u2019s<\/a> workplace.<\/p>\n

In addition, children participated in guided office tours to experience Samsung<\/a> in action. In New Jersey, visitors explored the Connected Experience Center (CEC)<\/strong>, while in Texas, participants toured Samsung\u2019s<\/a> retail space, offering a firsthand look at the company\u2019s products<\/a>, technology and customer experiences.<\/p>\n

\u201cTake Your Child to Work Day was such a special opportunity to share a part of what I do with my son and give him a glimpse into Samsung and the work we do every day,\u201d said Halie Griffin<\/strong>, Senior Manager, Public Relations and Analyst Relations. \u201cHe was so excited to participate, and it was incredibly rewarding to see the day through his eyes as he learned more about Samsung, met new friends and explored what it means to be a future innovator.\u201d<\/p>\n

The event concluded with a raffle and farewell, celebrating a day filled learning, connection and inspiration.
