Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the rollout of a major software update1<\/sup><\/a> for its Bespoke AI Refrigerators<\/a> with Family Hub2<\/sup><\/a>, bringing a new generation of AI-enhanced features to existing owners without the need for new hardware. Beginning today, the update is bringing an expanded version of its food recognition feature \u2013 AI Vision built with Google Gemini<\/a>.3<\/sup><\/a> The software update also includes an enriched suite of personalized daily widgets through Now Brief4<\/sup><\/a> and a significantly more capable version of Bixby voice control.5<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n

The updated AI Food Manager now significantly expands the range of food items the Family Hub<\/a> can recognize and track through enhanced AI Vision. Combining cloud intelligence, the system can now identify more fresh produce and packaged goods6<\/sup><\/a> with greater accuracy \u2014 including popular branded products and regionally specific ingredients. For packaged goods, Optical Character Recognition (OCR) enables accurate identification of a broader range of branded products across global markets.<\/p>\n
