Samsung Art Store<\/a> today announced a new partnership with Artists Rights Society (ARS), the preeminent intellectual property champion for visual artists in the United States. ARS’s global membership of more than 120,000 painters, sculptors, photographers, and illustrators includes towering estates like Salvador Dal\u00ed, Henri Matisse, Frida Kahlo, Georgia O’Keeffe, Mark Rothko, and the leading artists of today.<\/p>\n

The collaboration debuts with a collection from LeRoy Neiman \u2014 the American icon whose electric depictions of sport and spectacle are now available in the Samsung Art Store<\/a> \u2014 and creates a direct pathway between the Samsung Art Store<\/a>1<\/sup><\/a> and ARS’s artists and estates. This offers Samsung\u2019s curatorial team the unprecedented opportunity to collaborate with ARS’s extraordinary roster, unlocking an untold number of new artworks for dozens of models of Samsung TVs<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The first collection from the partnership showcases artworks by Neiman (1921-2012), the American artist whose kinetic, saturated canvases captured the energy of sport, celebrity and 20th century life \u2014 from championship boxing and the Olympic Games to jazz clubs and grand casinos. Licensed directly through ARS, the LeRoy Neiman collection of 33 works marks the first time Neiman\u2019s art has been available on the Art Store<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Though this new relationship makes Samsung Art Store<\/a> and ARS direct partners, the two have been longtime collaborators. Many of the museum collections already beloved on the Art Store feature work by ARS-represented artists, including works owned by The Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and SFMOMA.<\/p>\n
