Sleek office spaces, incredible perks, great starting salaries \u2013 these are the types of things rooted in our perceptions of working in the technology sector. However, short of what we see and hear in movies and the media, does anyone on the outside really know what it\u2019s like working for one of the world\u2019s leading technology companies?<\/p>\n

Dan Tuckman, part of the New Business and Service Division at Samsung Electronics America, hosts his mother during a Bring In Your Parents to Work Day.<\/p><\/div>\n

For Dan Tuckman, who came into the Samsung fold as the first U.S. recipient of Samsung\u2019s Global Scholarship in 2010, those preconceived notions don\u2019t even come close to what he has experienced during his six years at Samsung.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe opportunities I\u2019ve been given goes far beyond what I would\u2019ve been able to find at other companies,\u201d said Dan who helps launch new products and services for Samsung in the U.S.<\/p>\n

A few months after graduating from Cornell University, Dan moved to Seoul to participate in the program where high-potential graduates earn a company-sponsored MBA while working in Samsung\u2019s global headquarters before returning to the their home countries as a full-time employee.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a great opportunity to further my education, meet new lifelong friends from all over the world, work at a industry innovating company and broaden my horizons as a global citizen early in my career,\u201d he said. \u201cMy time in Seoul not only provided me critical international work experience, but allowed me to travel to incredible parts of Asia which further expanded my cultural experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

Programs like this have helped Samsung forge a positive brand perception among millennials<\/a> that has led them being recognized as a company that millennials would be proud to work for<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat motivated me to join and continue to work at Samsung is the high-octane, rapidly paced environment that drives the quality and speed of our product innovation. You won\u2019t get that same energy at every technology company out there, and being a part of a leading go-to-market organization means you\u2019ll never be bored.\u201d<\/p>\n

Driving excellence is a constant at Samsung, as reflected throughout its work culture and proudly embraced by those who reject the status quo in search of new innovation.<\/p>\n
