Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced the global launch of The Frame (HL03H model[1]) at HITEC 2026 – one of the largest and longest-running

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced the global launch of The Frame (HL03H model[1]) at HITEC 2026 – one of the largest and longest-running international hospitality technology events, held from June 15-18 at the Henry B. González Convention Centre in San Antonio, Texas.

Designed for hotels and premium commercial spaces, the new Art TV will be part of Samsung’s hospitality TV line-up. It serves as both an innovative display and a design feature, adding artwork, entertainment and connected hotel services to guest rooms and shared spaces.

With The Frame for hotels, Samsung is bringing one of its most distinctive TV experiences to hospitality businesses. Samsung will continue to invest in hospitality display solutions that help brands deliver premium service, strengthen their brand identity and prepare for the next phase of connected guest experiences, as noted by Executive Vice President of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics.

A Hospitality Display Designed for Stylish Spaces

With this hospitality model, Samsung brings the design and functionality of The Frame to hotels and corporate environments. The display combines 4K QLED picture quality with a refined form that fits naturally into premium interiors. Its Anti-Glare panel reduces unwanted reflections, while the Slim Fit Wall Mount allows the TV to sit close to the wall for a clean, gallery-like installation.

The Frame eliminates the need for a separate One Connect Box by integrating key connection components into the display, supporting simpler installation in hospitality spaces. Optional magnetic bezels allow hotel operators to customise the frame to match the mood and design of each space, as well[2] .

Collection Hub gives The Frame its distinct value as an Art TV for hospitality environments, allowing hotel operators to display selected artwork, photography or brand visuals when the TV is not in active use. Generative Wallpaper allows guests the opportunity to create AI-generated backgrounds for the screen – adding a customised touch to their room experience. Together, these features help each display become part of the room’s design, whether presenting hotel-curated visuals or AI-generated imagery selected by guests.

As Samsung’s most premium hospitality TV offering, The Frame for hotels is the first model in Samsung’s hotel TV line-up to support Generative Wallpaper and Live Translate. Live Translate helps international travellers comfortably watch local broadcasts or Samsung TV Plus with subtitles in their preferred language. The result is more accessible local content for users traveling overseas[3] .

Beginning with Samsung’s 2025 hotel TV line-up and extending to the HL03H model, Google Cast and Apple AirPlay support allows guests to share content from a smartphone or tablet to the in-room TV by scanning an on-screen QR code. No separate login is required and device connection information is automatically deleted upon checkout to help protect guest privacy[4] .

Managing Hospitality Features From One Platform

LYNK Cloud, Samsung’s comprehensive hospitality cloud solution, helps hotel teams monitor TV status in real time, update on-screen services and distribute guest-facing content across connected displays from a central platform[5] . With the support of LYNK Cloud, guests can access digital concierge features, book hotel services and order room service through the in-room TV. This gives hotels another way to connect guests with property services directly from the display.

LYNK Cloud also includes Business Intelligence, a feature that helps hotel teams understand how guests use in-room TV services, including frequently ordered menu items or popular TV channels. These insights can support more relevant offerings and help identify new revenue opportunities.

Furthermore, LYNK Cloud supports Collection Hub management on hospitality model of The Frame. With it, hotel teams can distribute selected art content across connected devices simultaneously. They can adjust brightness and colour tone based on indoor lighting conditions – as well as help each display to fit the hotel’s brand concept and room environment.

Availability

Samsung will showcase The Frame for hotels at booth 2442 during HITEC 2026. The new model will be available in 43-, 55-, 65- and 75-inch sizes, with global roll-out beginning in the second half of 2026[6] .

Samsung Electronics recently celebrated a successful collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), bringing together more than 100 young African innovators from various parts of the continent who participated in a co-created Mobile Circularity Hackathon that took place in Accra, Ghana from 23 – 25 June 2026.

Lefa Makgato, CSR Manager for Samsung South Africa, was one of the judges at the Hackathon, while Andries Venter, Africa Customer Service Network and Operations Lead – played a crucial role in delivering the masterclass and contributed to the judging process. This event took place during the 6th African Youth SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) Summit where a group of enthusiastic young African innovators came together to tackle mobile e-waste, with the ultimate goal of developing practical solutions for repairing, reusing and recycling discarded mobile phones.

During this Mobile Circularity Hackathon, Samsung experts, including Venter, guided the selected group of young African innovators through the lifecycle of a mobile device, from raw material extraction to end-of-life disposal. The Mobile Circularity Hackathon forms part of Samsung’s long-term global partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), established in 2019 and set to continue through to 2030.

The Hackathon also aligns with Samsung’s Environmental Strategy, in which the Circular Economy is a key pillar. Through this strategy, Samsung is committed to addressing mobile e-waste, promoting sustainable product design and advancing resource circularity. Targeting mainly young African innovators, tech entrepreneurs and university students aged 20 – 35; the participating Hackathon teams collaborated using real community data to develop circular economy solutions. Following the event, the UNDP Ghana and Samsung committed to providing continued support to the winning teams, helping them scale their concepts into viable businesses.

The Mobile Circularity Hackathon aims to transform Africa’s growing mobile e-waste challenge into a significant socio-economic and environmental opportunity. An estimated 10 billion dormant or unused mobile phones are currently stored away worldwide1, locking up valuable raw materials and contributing to the growing challenge of electronic waste1. Rather than viewing discarded mobile devices solely as environmental hazards – this initiative repositions them as valuable resources that can drive economic growth, promote resource circularity and support environmental sustainability.

The programme also recognises the substantial economic potential of the circular economy. The project’s participating beneficiaries were drawn from various parts of the African continent, specifically leveraging the UNDP’s Regional University Innovation Pods (UniPods) Network and the attendee base of the African Youth SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) Summit, which is Africa’s largest youth forum on sustainable development.

While applications were continent-wide, key representations and target hubs included:

West Africa: Ghana (as the host nation) and Sierra Leone

East Africa: Innovators linked to regional tech hubs and academic networks.

Southern Africa: Youth networks and summit delegates travelling from countries like Zambia and Zimbabwe.

At the end of the Hackathon, a total of 127 young finalists were selected and split into 20 teams that received a direct masterclass training and mentorship from Samsung. The top-performing teams also gained seed validation and tracking support through the UNDP timbuktoo initiative.

The technical support from UNDP through the UNDP UniPod initiative was there to ensure that the three winning ideas that were selected, were able to itinerate and scale projects in their respective countries. And, the winning teams included the following:

Diamond Winners: E-waste Marshall. The team proposed a concept to bridge Information and Communications Technology (ICT) e-waste from corporate institutions in Ghana to local and international recyclers – helping to strengthen compliance with Ghana’s Hazardous and Electronic Waste Control and Management Act (Act 917). By combining responsible e-waste collection with public awareness, the solution aims to advance a more sustainable and circular approach to electronic waste management. Team members: Janice Ama Dede Adjei (Ghana), Isaac Selasi Ahadzi (Ghana), John Howard Wealth (Ghana), Blessing Kukwang Dayam (Ghana), Ernest Emekor Duho (Ghana), Patrice Cossi (Benin), Edna Beverla (Ghana).

Gold Winners: E-cycle Connect. The team proposed a digital marketplace designed to connect consumers, e-waste collectors, and certified recyclers to make e-waste management more accessible, transparent and responsible. Their concept would enable consumers to schedule pick-ups or locate nearby drop-off points, while creating fairer market access for collectors through direct connections with certified recyclers. By strengthening the e-waste value chain, the solution aims to support livelihoods and advance Africa’s mobile circular economy. Team members: Jean-Marie Akiwele Nabare (Ghana), Nana Nyama Danso (Ghana), Anuforo Goodluck Eziokwu (Nigeria), Rabiatu Yakubu (Ghana), Ayittah Lawrence Amanor (Ghana), Kackah Ushahemba Alex (Nigeria), Simon M Kiambati (Kenya).

Silver Winners: Nkabom Innovators. The team proposed a concept to intercept domestic electronic waste within local communities through an incentivised, low-tech collection model. The solution aims to transform recovered materials into commercial products while repurposing power components to support localised clean-energy solutions, advancing a more circular approach to e-waste management. Team members: Ophelia Adubofour (Ghana), Wendy Akushika Dogbegah (Ghana), Noah Johnson Ananga (Ghana), Bella Cisse (Mali), Seidu Inusah Jaminja (Ghana).

This strategic partnership between Samsung and the UNDP has now evolved to include a focus on community-led experimentation, transitioning from primarily global awareness and advocacy toward locally rooted solutions. Through this approach, the collaboration supports youth innovation, entrepreneurship and the development of solutions that contribute to sustainable development.

Samsung brings technological expertise, engineering capabilities, commercial insights, funding and technical mentorship to the partnership. The UNDP – on the other hand – provides valuable community data and a development framework, including access to its network of UniPods – a group of academic technology incubators operating across multiple African countries.

Both partners recognise youth education as an important element of sustainable development. Through the partnership, young innovators gain access to knowledge, skills development and mentorship, while also having opportunities to participate in conversations and decision-making on global sustainability issues.

Samsung in conjunction with Tshimologong have in the last few years identified that one of the challenges faced by ICT graduates is the struggle to find jobs in software development. The reason for this situation is that the ICT industry’s job seekers are generally required to have at least two (2) to four (4) years’ relevant experience to be able to secure employment.

In reality though, when interns work in industry under real-world pressure, they are at the mercy of those who have the time and willingness to mentor, therefore, it takes longer to gain the necessary expertise. To address this challenge, Samsung has since 2020 been sponsoring a 12-month internship programme in partnership with Tshimologong. This ICT training is part of Samsung’s already succesful R280-million worth Equity Equivalent Investment Programme (EEIP), launched in 2019.

And, with Samsung’s extensive investment into this SWD programme – the parties involved are pleased to see that this partnership has consistently yielded excellent results over the past seven years. The partners have also indicated that there was an excellent attendance and participation rate over the last 12 months.

According to Tshimologong’s reports, about 71 students from cohort 1 – 5 had completed the programme and in this current group – cohort 6, Samsung sponsored 18 students; making the total number of students whose lives have been changed by this programme, 89. Importantly, with the help of employment partners – the total absorption rate from cohort 1 – 6 is 79 % , considering cohort 6 completed at the end of June 2026.

Mark Harris, CEO, Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct said: “Our partnership with Samsung is fundamentally rooted in developing high-end digital skills that create tangible opportunities for unemployed youth. In a market where even graduates with degrees and diplomas struggle to find employment, this programme bridges the critical gap between academic theory and industry readiness.

What makes this programme particularly relevant today is how it has evolved to reflect the profound transformation that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is bringing to software engineering. AI is no longer a peripheral tool — it is reshaping how software is designed, written, tested and deployed.”

Harris added further and said: “We place enormous importance on ensuring that our graduates are not only proficient in core development skills, but are equally fluent in AI-assisted development, automation and the new ways of working that define the modern tech industry. In doing so, we are not simply preparing them for the jobs of today — we are positioning them to embrace and lead in the future of work in an increasingly competitive and rapidly evolving space.

Monitoring the progress of our alumni post-programme, it’s incredibly exciting to see how they have rapidly advanced their careers, with some even emerging as successful tech entrepreneurs. This multi-year initiative is a testament to the power of delivering true, measurable impact — moving beyond mere training to actively improving economic and job opportunities for South Africa’s youth. Wits Tshimologong is immensely proud to partner with Samsung in delivering this transformative programme.”

In this year’s Tshimologong digital programme, Samsung’s investment has provided this group of ICT students with access to resources such as software engineers, mentors, world-class training and stipends. The 18 selected, African interns comprising nine (9) women and nine (9) males with an IT tertiary qualification – have had an opportunity to work with a senior developer to grow their skills. And, the sole responsibility of the senior developer was to focus – on a full-time basis – on the growth of the interns by providing the right mentorship and guiding them on real-world projects.

Nicky Beukes, Samsung EEIP Project Manager added: “As Samsung, we are delighted to see another group of young and enthusiastic graduates successfully completing this ICT training. Over the years, our approach to ICT education and training has consistently ensured that the graduates from this SWD programme are well-prepared for real-world challenges. This is because, we are convinced that this preparedness directly benefits local entrepreneurship ecosystems and technical job markets. All the effort put into this programme provides us with a group of Samsung alumni graduates that now have a competitive advantage in the broader technology industry.”

The interns were subjected to high intensity and fast-paced learning over the 12-months and obtained market-relevant experience which make them suitably qualified to enter the job market. The outcome of this internship programme is to ensure a portfolio of practical experience to improve employability. Over the years, there has been a clear indication that the majority of students follow the formal employment route and entrepreneurship is the exception. Samsung’s partnership with Tshimologong is all about developing the tech start-ups of tomorrow but also about growing quality software development skills for South Africa.

During this one-year programme, these graduating students worked in teams and had an opportunity to produce various team projects that included finding a solution to a societal problem through digital innovation. The much needed experience that this group acquired in this programme; has made them excited about the prospects of embarking on the next chapter of their lives – one filled with imminent possibilities of securing employment, earning a living and supporting their families.

Since inception, the role of each of the partners had been clearly defined and this, has contributed immensely to the consistent success of the programme. Tshimologong continues to provide the expertise and the know-how of a senior developer to grow the students’ skills. It’s role also includes the provision of mentorship and guiding of students to tackle real-world problems. This market relevant and skills-driven programme prepares students by guiding them through the process of ensuring that they are ready for the workplace. Together, Samsung and Tshimologong also provide a network of employment partners.

“As Samsung, we remain committed to providing sustained investment and ensuring that significant opportunities are created through such programmes. Samsung’s collaborative effort with institutions of higher education such as Tshimologong are not only there to ensure the successful completion of ICT trainings. Mainly, these partnerships seek to enhance employment prospects that will help in addressing the socio-economic challenges faced by the country’s youth and their respective communities,” concludes Beukes.

At Galaxy Unpacked July 2026 in London, Samsung Electronics unveiled the eighth-generation Galaxy Z series. Combining agentic AI that understands users with hardware tailored to different lifestyles, the line-up offers three distinct foldable experiences.

Samsung Newsroom got an early look at the new devices during Galaxy Unpacked July 2026 — from Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, the first Ultra model in the Galaxy foldable portfolio to Galaxy Z Fold8 with its all-new form factor and Galaxy Z Flip8 with more intuitive AI on FlexWindow.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra: The Ultra Experience on a Foldable Display

Within the Galaxy line-up, the “Ultra” name represents Samsung’s highest level of performance and user experience. As the first Ultra model in the Galaxy Z series, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra pairs ultra-level performance with an expansive foldable display to elevate productivity through AI-powered multi-tasking.

The first thing that stands out is how thin the device is. Unfolding it reveals a spacious 8-inch main display. Measuring 4.1 millimetres thick when unfolded and weighing only 215 grams, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is the thinnest Galaxy Z Fold yet; making it comfortable to carry and use throughout the day.

The display has also been refined to deliver smoother, more comfortable folding. The folding magnets, hinge mechanism and display tension have been precisely optimised, while refinements to the edge design make the device easier to unfold. Samsung’s proprietary Flex Titanium technology helps minimise the display crease while enhancing durability.

The expansive display also unlocks enhanced AI experiences. Gemini Notebook streamlines the process of organising meeting materials and notes. Users can now upload a PDF of meeting minutes or an audio recording of a presentation to generate a summary of the key points, then transform the same source material into a variety of formats — including AI-generated videos, presentation slides, podcasts and quizzes.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra truly shines in AI-powered multi-tasking. Agentic AI anticipates when multi-tasking is needed, using Now Nudge to open Multi Window at the right moment. For example, Now Nudge can suggest adding dinner plans from a messaging app to the calendar and open the Calendar app in Multi Window.

Qualcomm Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy and a 5,000mAh battery support Galaxy AI experiences and seamless multi-tasking on the expansive display.

Galaxy Z Fold8: A Foldable, Re-imagined

Redesigned with an all-new form factor, Galaxy Z Fold8 introduces an aspect ratio optimised for a wide range of content.

Unfolding the device expands the display to a 4:3 aspect ratio, ideal for watching movies or playing games. Rotating the device switches to a 3:4 aspect ratio that feels more natural for reading e-books or browsing the web. The cover screen’s 10:16 aspect ratio also provides a familiar experience for browsing short-form content.

A 4,800mAh battery supports more than 26 hours of video playback. Weighing just 201 grams, Galaxy Z Fold8 is the lightest Galaxy Z Fold yet and remains comfortable to hold — even during extended viewing sessions.

Video to be inserted here

Galaxy Z Fold8 goes beyond content consumption with tools for creating and editing. Galaxy AI-powered My FanCam makes it easy to create videos focused on a specific person. After selecting a video in the Gallery app, users can launch My FanCam and choose the subject to follow. The video is then automatically reframed around the selected subject.

The device also delivers a more advanced agentic AI experience. For example, if a user shares a photo of the Eiffel Tower with Gemini and asks it to book a nearby hotel, the AI agent finds accommodations that match the specified criteria — even while they continue using other apps. Afterward, they can simply review the recommendations and approve only the actions that require confirmation – saving time and effort.

Galaxy Z Flip8: More Without Unfolding

Galaxy Z Flip8 makes a strong first impression with its thin, lightweight design. Measuring 6.1 millimetres thick when unfolded and weighing only 180 grams, it offers excellent portability. A stronger frame and a more durable hinge made with a new high-strength material improve durability while maintaining the device’s slim profile.

One of Galaxy Z Flip8’s biggest upgrades is its more versatile FlexWindow. Users can check important information and access their favourite features without unfolding the device. Another highlight is Galaxy AI’s Now Brief. From FlexWindow, users can instantly see the day’s weather, schedule and important notifications. Everyday information such as exchange rates and stock updates is organised into personalised cards, making it easy to stay on top of the day.

App functionality also extends to FlexWindow. Without unfolding the device, users can browse photos in the Gallery app, chat with friends through messaging apps and quickly complete tasks. More than a hub for notifications and widgets, FlexWindow has evolved into a gateway to more of what Galaxy has to offer.

The camera experience has also been refined to better complement the Galaxy Z Flip form factor. Camcorder Grip — exclusive to the Galaxy Z Flip series — enables stable one-handed recording, while Super Steady’s horizontal lock helps keep footage smooth and level, even on the move.

Dual Recording captures both the creator and the subject in the same video, perfect for vlogs and social media challenges. Opening the Camera app displays the creator’s view at the top of the screen and the subject’s view below, allowing both perspectives to be recorded simultaneously.

To power these pro-level sports health features, Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is built with unprecedented hardware performance. It is equipped with a massive 800 mAh battery — a 35% increase in capacity compared to the previous Ultra model. Powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite platform, it establishes a new benchmark in power, speed and highly accurate GPS tracking for the Ultra line. The expanded display provides the Samsung’s first smartwatch with 5,000 nits of brightness,[viii] making clear visibility possible even under intense sunlight.

Galaxy Watch Ultra2 retains its shock-resistant titanium casing to help ensure rugged durability, while also introducing enhanced comfort and stability for a broader, more diverse range of users. Despite a significantly larger battery, Galaxy Watch Ultra2 achieves an innovative slimmer[ix] design that transitions seamlessly from rugged outdoor and sports activities to everyday lifestyle use. Advanced internal re-engineering significantly reduces the device’s thickness by 12% compared to the previous generation. Coupled with lighter and softer bands that reduce weight, Galaxy Watch Ultra2 delivers continuous wearability, highly precise biometric data tracking and exceptional comfort.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today unveiled the new Galaxy Z series, its most complete lineup yet, designed to expand foldables to a wider audience. The lineup introduces Galaxy Z Fold8, a fresh and exciting form factor that provides a new kind of foldable experience built around the way people explore, discover and immerse themselves in their favorite content.

The lineup also includes Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, which brings Galaxy’s renowned Ultra standard to foldables with maximum productivity and content creation in a larger workspace. Galaxy Z Flip8 — the sleekest one yet — was built for expression and quick interaction on the go. Built on seven generations of foldable innovation and consumer insight, the new Galaxy Z series gives users more choice than ever, with three distinct experiences engineered to fit different needs.

Galaxy AI has been optimised for each of these form factors. Across the lineup, every insight feels more actionable and every action feels more connected. Multitasking is easier on the larger screens of Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, while Galaxy Z Flip8’s AI-native FlexWindow keeps relevant information and shortcuts within reach. And with partner artificial intelligence (AI) experiences such as Gemini Intelligence[1], Galaxy gives users even more ways to get things done in fewer steps — with transparency, privacy and user control built in.

“As AI becomes more agentic, mobile devices will become the most personal entry point to experiences that understand and adapt to each user,” said TM Roh, Chief Executive Officer, President and Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics. “By setting a new standard for foldables, we are once again advancing the premium mobile experience and opening the next era of intelligence to more people.”

The All-New Galaxy Z Fold8: A New Galaxy Fold Experience for Everyday Immersion

Galaxy Z Fold8 is reimagined for users who want a foldable that feels natural in the moments when curiosity turns into deeper discovery. Galaxy Z Fold8 introduces a form factor designed to move easily from quick interactions on the cover screen to deeper viewing, reading and gaming on the main display. With intuitive display ratios and long-lasting performance, Galaxy Z Fold8 makes it easier to get the most out of the content, stories and ideas that matter.

Built for Discovery

Galaxy Z Fold8’s display ratios are designed around the way people naturally consume content throughout the day. By adapting the screen to the content, Galaxy Z Fold8 creates a more immersive experience whether users are browsing, watching, reading or gaming. At just 201 g,[2] Galaxy Fold8 is Samsung’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold yet.[3] Despite its lightweight design, it combines the Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy[4] with a larger 4,800mAh battery[5], delivering smooth, responsive performance and lasting power so users can stay immersed longer.

When folded, the 10:16 cover screen5 feels familiar and comfortable for the short moments people return to most often, such as messaging, social updates, browsing and short-form video.

When unfolded, the 4:3 main display[6] creates a larger canvas that helps users lose themselves in games and films.

When rotated, the same display ratio becomes naturally suited to reading, giving users a more comfortable way to settle into articles, e-books and long-form content without carrying another device.

Together, these display ratios are designed around the way people naturally consume content, helping Galaxy Z Fold8 feel more immersive whether users are quickly checking in or settling in for longer sessions.

A Display Engineered from the Inside Out

Across the new Galaxy Z series, Samsung’s display engineering expertise serves as the foundation for a more refined foldable experience, supporting slimmer designs, greater durability and more seamless viewing.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8 open a new chapter in foldables with three distinct experiences designed for Ultra productivity, immersive discovery and self-expression.

Samsung’s new Flex Titanium technology introduces a titanium-based display structure designed to help make foldables thinner while maintaining durability. Combining a titanium-alloy film with an enhanced titanium plate, Flex Titanium helps strengthen display support, absorb pressure and impact, and reduce crease visibility over time. This structure also refines the way the device opens, balancing hinge mechanics, display tension and magnetic force to make unfolding feel smoother, lighter and more natural.[7]

With up to 3,000 nits of brightness, Vision Booster and a low-reflection display finish, the main screen stays vivid and easy to see even in outdoor settings.

A Clear and Versatile Camera Experience

Galaxy Z Fold8 is designed to help users capture and share the moments that catch their attention. Whether it’s a sweeping landscape, a group shot or a spontaneous moment on the move, Galaxy Z Fold8 makes everyday photography and video feel easier to capture, edit and share.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra: The Ultra Foldable Built for Maximum Productivity

Ultra represents Galaxy’s highest standard for performance, capability and innovation. With Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, that standard meets Samsung’s most advanced foldable design. Its expansive 8-inch main display[10] opens up a productive workspace for multitasking, while its advanced camera system and long-lasting battery help users create throughout the day. All of this comes in Galaxy’s slimmest Z Fold design yet — measuring just 4.1 mm when unfolded and weighs 215g1, it pushes the standard for productivity on the go.

A new 50 MP ultra-wide camera brings greater detail and clarity to wider scenes and macro shots, giving users more flexibility when capturing landscapes, interiors, group shots and close-up details.

Now Brief helps users stay informed with personalised insights tailored to their routines, interests and daily needs through expanded scenarios, customisable briefing cards and personalised recommendations. It now also surfaces security and privacy insights, helping users stay on top of potential risks and protective actions.

Now Nudge[20] helps turn insights into action. When plans begin to take shape in a conversation, AI can surface relevant next steps such as checking a schedule, finding a place or saving a location. On foldables, users can continue the conversation side by side on larger displays.

Gemini Intelligence[21] helps users move from request to result with fewer steps. Users can simply describe what they need or even add screen or image context. App automation can now work across 40+ supported apps and services, with capabilities ranging from looking up tickets to finding a nearby restaurant and making a reservation. With Gemini Notebook, users can bring together notes, images, recordings, files and documents in one persistent workspace to collect, organise and develop their ideas. Drag-and-drop support in Split view makes the workflow even more intuitive, allowing users to easily add multiple files and images and turn their content into audio overviews, infographics, reports, meeting recaps, visual summaries, documents and more.

AI experiences become more connected and contextual when the new Galaxy Z series is connected with Galaxy Watch Ultra2, Galaxy Watch9 series and even upcoming Intelligent Eyewear. From wellness insights to daily routines and connected actions, Galaxy AI helps users move more seamlessly between devices with timely personalised support throughout the day.

Together, these experiences show how Galaxy AI is becoming a more capable and proactive companion, helping users accomplish more with less effort. Across the lineup, foldable form factors make these experiences easier to access throughout the day.

Security and Privacy Built Into the Experience

As AI becomes more personal and agentic, trust continues to be a critical foundation of the experience. Users need to know how their data is used, understand what AI is doing on their behalf and stay in control of the choices that shape their experience. With the new Galaxy Z series, Samsung builds that trust into the device from the start, helping users keep personal data secure while giving them transparency, choice and control over how their information is used.

Samsung Knox protects every Galaxy device from the chip up, with a multi-layered approach that includes on-device personalisation and user-controlled cloud processing, as well as future-ready protections such as ecosystem-wide protection through Samsung Knox Matrix. For on-device AI, Personal Data Engine (PDE) enables context-aware, personalised AI experiences. To protect PDE, Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) creates encrypted, app-specific storage environments, while Knox Vault adds a tamper-resistant physical layer for sensitive information[22]. These system-level protections work together with Advanced Intelligence settings and Personal Data Intelligence to help users control how AI features manage and use personal data.

One UI 9.0 also introduces a new AI Assistant Activity dashboard, giving users a centralised view of AI automations running on their behalf. Instead of moving across multiple apps and services to understand what happened, users can review AI actions in one place and navigate directly to the relevant agent[23] for additional context and settings. The Z8 series also brings enhanced Privacy Alerts that proactively notify users about potential privacy risks, including unnecessary attempts to access background permissions, helping them respond before those risks become invisible.

These updates build on Galaxy’s existing security and privacy portfolio which includes Auto Blocker, Theft Protection, Private Sharing, Secure Wi-Fi and more. Together, these advancements help users take a more active role in managing personal data and AI activities, with transparency, clearer choices and stronger protections at the core of their experience — helping ensure that more personal AI experiences remain grounded in trust.

Switching to Galaxy is now easier than ever, thanks to a more seamless migration experience across a wider range of devices[27]. With the updated Smart Switch, iOS users can scan a QR code on their current devices and wirelessly transfer data without downloading additional apps. Smart Switch can also bring over additional types of data including password and passkeys, call history, accessibility settings, eSIM data and more, helping reduce the time needed to set up a new device. And with Quick Share’s new compatibility with AirDrop[28], sharing files between iOS and Galaxy devices is now seamless in both directions.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – 15 July 2026 – Today’s connected world means creating incredible content is only half the story. The other half is sharing it.

Whether it’s a concert clip, a family celebration, a rare moment, or an important work document, people expect their technology to help them capture, create, and share without limitations. Yet for years, one of the biggest frustrations facing smartphone users has been the divide between mobile ecosystems. Sharing high-quality content between Android and iOS devices has often meant relying on third-party applications, compressed files, reduced image quality, or unnecessary extra steps.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 is helping to change that. By combining powerful camera[1] innovation with seamless content sharing capabilities, Samsung is delivering an experience that puts the consumer first. The result is a smartphone experience that allows users to create stunning, stable content and share it instantly across platforms without compromising quality.

Available on the Galaxy S26, Super Steady Video[2] with Horizontal Lock brings advanced video stabilisation technology to more users than ever before. Powered by intelligent artificial intelligence (AI) processing and enhanced by the ultra-wide camera lens[3], Super Steady Video helps minimise unwanted motion and shake, allowing users to capture remarkably smooth footage even while moving through dynamic environments.

Whether you’re dancing at a weekend groove, recording a live performance at a concert, capturing action on a hiking trail, or documenting a family gathering, the feature works behind the scenes to deliver videos that feel polished, professional, and cinematic[4].

Horizontal Lock helps keep footage level and visually balanced throughout recording. By maintaining a straight horizon, users can create cleaner, more professional-looking videos without needing extensive editing afterwards. Together, these features ensure that every memory, every story, and every piece of content looks its absolute best.[5]

Creating beautiful content is important. Sharing it should be just as effortless. Today’s social circles are diverse. Families, friends, colleagues, and collaborators don’t all use the same devices. One person might use Android while another prefers iOS. Yet the moments they share belong to everyone.

That’s why Samsung has embraced a more connected approach to sharing. With AirDrop compatibility available on the Galaxy S26, users can transfer photos, videos, and documents directly to nearby Apple devices quickly and conveniently, helping remove barriers between ecosystems[6].

Imagine capturing well-stabilised footage at a music festival using Super Steady Video and Horizontal Lock. Moments later, you can share the original high-quality video directly with your friend using an iPhone sitting next to you. No messaging applications or complications.

For content creators, quality is everything. Every frame, every colour, every movement contributes to the final story. Creators invest significant effort into ensuring their content looks polished and professional, making it frustrating when sharing platforms or file transfers compromise the quality of their work.

With the Galaxy S26, creators can confidently record smooth footage using Samsung’s advanced camera technology1 and then share it instantly while preserving the quality they worked so hard to achieve.

The benefits extend far beyond social media and lifestyle content. Modern professionals regularly collaborate across different devices and operating systems. Teams exchange presentations, contracts, spreadsheets, images, videos, and project files every day. By making cross-platform sharing easier, Samsung is helping streamline productivity for working professionals who need information to move quickly between Android and iOS devices.

The Galaxy S26 demonstrates Samsung’s vision for a more connected mobile experience by combining intelligent camera innovation with seamless sharing capabilities. Because the best content deserves to be shared, and the best experiences shouldn’t depend on what smartphone everyone else is carrying.

Samsung Electronics today unveiled new Flex Titanium technology for the next generation of Galaxy foldable devices. Built on seven generations of foldable

Samsung Electronics today unveiled new Flex Titanium technology for the next generation of Galaxy foldable devices. Built on seven generations of foldable innovation and engineering expertise, the redesigned display structure utilizes structural and material advancements to deliver a more refined viewing experience with enhanced durability and reduced crease visibility. Made possible thanks to Samsung’s accumulated display know-how, Flex Titanium technology integrates two titanium-based components — a titanium-alloy film and a titanium plate — working together to balance slimness, flexibility and strength within the foldable display structure.

“Samsung’s strength in the foldable category comes from connecting user needs with our technologies that deliver tangible benefits in everyday life,” said Sunghoon Moon, EVP and Senior Executive, Mobile R&D Office – H/W, Samsung Electronics. “For the next generation of Galaxy foldables, Samsung is building on years of expertise to bring display innovations into devices that enhance user experiences, anchored by exceptional viewing experiences.”

Building on Years of Foldable Experience

Samsung has played a leading role in advancing mobile display innovation and bringing it to consumers at scale through mobile devices. This legacy includes the widespread adoption of AMOLED displays in 2007 and the evolution of displays into flexible form factors.

Innovative technologies can only reach their full potential and provide meaningful user experiences through continuous refinement in real-world conditions and the foldable category is no exception. Across seven generations of Galaxy foldables, Samsung has listened closely to consumer feedback. This has given the company a deep understanding of what users expect from the category: a larger, more immersive viewing experience with less visible crease — without compromising durability or portability.

To meet these expectations, Samsung had to rethink how foldable displays are constructed by bringing together breakthroughs in technology, materials and mechanical engineering. The result is the latest milestone in foldable display innovation: Flex Titanium technology. By successfully integrating display innovation with device engineering, Samsung will continue to shape the direction of the mobile industry and deliver standout user experiences.

Flex Titanium: Next-Level Viewing

To create a display that provides an immersive viewing experience while maintaining its ability to withstand everyday use, Samsung took a new approach to structural design. This required a material strong enough to withstand external shock, flexible enough to endure repeated folding and thin enough to fit within a refined device structure. Balancing all three factors was essential to advancing foldable displays — and titanium offered the right mix.

Known for its resilience and strength, titanium has been used in some of the most demanding applications, including satellite antennas and the wheels of a Mars rover. While its strength makes titanium a dependable material, it also presents significant engineering challenges when applied to the thin and flexible structure of a foldable display due to its stiffness. Drawing on its expertise, Samsung has integrated titanium into two key components: a titanium-alloy film and a titanium plate.

The titanium-alloy film is a component that supports the display from within, sitting below the OLED panel. Compared with polymer film, it provides 20 times greater mechanical stiffness. A precision rolling process makes the material exceptionally thin — measuring roughly one-third the thickness of an average human hair — enabling a slimmer display panel.

Below this sits a robust titanium plate, a flexible structure that supports the display module from beneath. It allows tighter bonding with the display module by eliminating air gaps between the module and the adhesive on the plate through advanced hole processing technology. This new structure provides more stable support underneath the display when unfolded while retaining the flexibility needed to accommodate repeated folding.

Furthermore, by integrating a high-resolution architecture and next-generation organic materials, the new display delivers ultra-vivid display resolution while reducing power consumption — delivering a dramatic boost in overall power efficiency.

“By introducing sophisticated micro-patterned holes to the folding section of the titanium plate, we have successfully secured flexibility with robust durability,” said Kyung-Jin Yoo, EVP and Head of Mobile Display Product Development Team, Samsung Display. “Combining high-resolution display architecture with new organic materials that maximize power efficiency, we will further strengthen the competitiveness of next-generation Galaxy foldable devices.”

Together, these advancements enable a strong foldable display that maximizes content immersion on a seamless screen and reduces crease visibility — all while keeping it slim. By balancing strength, flexibility and structural stability, Samsung continues to set the bar for foldable displays.

The new Flex Titanium technology will debut with Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy foldable devices. Further details will be unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked.
