Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced that it will unveil a new vacuum cleaner lineup with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) at CES® 2024. The Bespoke Jet Bot Combo, a vacuum and mop robot cleaner, will bring enhanced AI features and steam cleaning to realise an easier cleaning experience for users.

Bespoke Jet Bot Combo^[1] Brings a Bevy of Advanced, AI-Based Features^[2] for a Cleaner Home

The Bespoke Jet Bot Combo is an AI-applied vacuum and mop robot cleaner that improves the user experience both during and after cleaning. The upgraded AI Object Recognition applied to the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo evolves from the technology previously introduced in the Bespoke Jet Bot AI+. It expands the number of objects it can distinguish, enabling more precise driving thanks to 3D sensor applied.

The most notable improvement is that AI Object Recognition can also recognise space and stains to provide users with better cleaning experiences. It determines and categorises mapped areas like a living room and a kitchen, and automatically suggests setting up “no-go zones” such as the bathroom, the veranda or the entrance, to ensure the robot vacuum avoid designated areas. Meanwhile, when the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo detects a stain, it goes back to the clean station to heat the mop pads with high-temperature steam and water and then returns to the area. With powerful spinning mops at 170 RPM, it can actively scrub off even hardened stains. These result in highly effective autonomous cleaning that reduces user intervention in a variety of environments.

Additionally, the model can even sense the floor type to provide enhanced cleaning, using a feature called AI Floor Detect. It distinguishes between hard floors and carpeting, and then automatically boosts its suction power which is appropriate even to vacuum up deep-lying dust in carpets. Furthermore, it helps prevent users’ carpets from getting wet and being contaminated by dirty mop pads. When the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo detects a carpet, it determines whether to lift up the mop pads or to detach them at the clean station to provide the improved anti-cross contamination solution.

The Bespoke Jet Bot Combo fully cares until the last minute of the cleaning experience. The clean station supplies a 3-step Total Cleaning System for mop pads, which includes auto wash, steam cleaning and auto dry with hot air. After it washes the mops with hot water heated by high-temperature steam, it then sprays steam on them to prevent odors, enabling more hygienic maintenance.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. recently announced the global launch of the Samsung Bespoke Jet AI, the company’s most powerful cordless stick vacuum yet with up to 280W^[1] of suction power, a self-emptying enhanced All-in-One Clean Station and artificial intelligence (AI)-based functionality. Preorders have already started for the Bespoke Jet AI, which is available globally from June in markets including Australia, Europe,^[2] and the United States of America, will be available in South Africa later this year.

Featuring a 250W and 280W model,^[3] the Bespoke Jet AI is available in two timeless Bespoke colours: Satin Black and Satin Greige.^[4]

Samsung’s Most Powerful and Longest-Running Cordless Stick Vacuum Yet

The Bespoke Jet AI features the powerful HexaJet Motor which, with up to 280W of suction power and a maximum consumption power of 730W, makes it Samsung’s most powerful vacuum motor to date. This ultra-lightweight motor, weighing in at only 150g, provides a comfortable cleaning experience while still providing a 25% increase in suction power compared to the previous model^[5], as well as a motor efficiency of 52%.

In order to allow users to clean for longer without stopping to charge, the Bespoke Jet AI offers up to 100 minutes of usage, the longest single battery runtime of any Samsung cordless stick vacuum. Its 4,500mAh battery features 80% more capacity than the previous model and has been optimised to retain 70% of its performance for up to 500 cycles.^[6]

The Bespoke Jet AI also features a selection of brushes and other accessories. The Active Dual Brush offers efficient cleaning on all types of floors and built-in LED lighting to highlight dust in dark spots, while the Slim LED Brush+ features a highly maneuverable design as well as LED lighting in order to effectively clean trickier areas. For more convenient storage of the device and its brushes, the Accessory Cradle allows users to store their device wherever they want.

AI-Based Cleaning for an Exceptional Intelligent Cleaning Experience

With its all-new AI mode that harnesses Samsung’s AI Optimum Tech, the Bespoke Jet AI provides a more effective cleaning experience while catering to a diverse range of environments. The Bespoke Jet AI is the first cordless stick vacuum cleaner to feature an AI verification from UL Solutions, a leading independent safety science organisation. Its AI Cleaning Mode allows it to determine floor type in order to provide both optimised cleaning and maximum battery efficiency.

With AI Cleaning Mode, the Bespoke Jet AI will first detect the brush load it has encountered through its suction motion controller, as well as the air pressure through its pressure sensors. This data will then be analysed in order to classify the floor type it is placed on, and the resulting algorithm will be automatically applied in order to provide the optimal suction power and brushroll speed.^[7]

The Bespoke Jet AI’s AI Cleaning Mode is capable of reducing battery consumption by up to 14% and can boost maneuverability by up to 6% when used with the Active Dual Brush. When used with the Slim LED Brush+, battery consumption can be reduced by up to 21%, with maneuverability boosted by up to 8%.^[8]

In addition to the Bespoke Jet AI’s AI Cleaning Mode, SmartThings and Smart Wi-Fi connectivity let users customise their vacuum and its functions while maintaining peak performance through the smart self-diagnosis function, providing more effective cleaning experiences.

More Hygienic Experiences With An Upgraded All-in-One Clean Station

The Bespoke Jet AI’s upgraded All-in-One Clean Station harnesses Air Pulse technology to automatically empty the dustbin for quicker and more hygienic cleaning. When the dustbin is being emptied, the All-in-One Clean Station’s Air Spin Edge technology spins the Spinning Cyclone at a blade rate of up to 1,000 RPM to drain waste, including any remaining hair that may be stuck in the dustbin’s grille.

The enhanced All-in-One Clean Station can automatically shut its cover after every disposal and offers more powerful dust management performance with a 99.999% Multi-layered Filtration System for trapping fine dust and an improved hair removal rate of 99%^[9] for more efficient dustbin emptying.

Samsung proudly supports Busan’s bid for the World Expo 2030

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – 18 October 2022 – Samsung hosted a lunch and interactive session for members of the media at their head office’s Experience Centre in Bryanston. The purpose of the event was to introduce journalists to the company’s home appliances and get them acquainted with some of the standout technological innovations and features that make them special.

Samsung South Africa’s Home Appliances Lead, Mark Mackay and his team played host to the journalists and gave them a tour of the Experience Centre, which houses a collection of the latest Samsung products from mobile to entertainment as well as home appliances.

The interactive lunch session kicked off with Mackay setting the tone and sharing with the guests Samsung’s vision of enhancing the quality of life for consumers through their products. He said the South African market for premium home appliances has been growing rapidly in recent times. “Two of the key driving components of this segment have been performance and personalisation. At Samsung, we have responded to this the best way we know how and upped our game in terms of the innovative features that our products offer.”

The guests were introduced to some of the innovation and exceptional technological features found in the latest refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, air-conditioners, air dressers and washing machines etc.

Mackay spoke about Samsung’s BESPOKE and highlighted that for products of this standard, consumers should be able to have them in the shape or form that they choose. “We have placed personal taste at the centre of our products because there shouldn’t be any reason two consumers find themselves with the exact same product. We listened and responded and the result is that our consumers can now tailor their appliances, be they kitchen, cleaning or laundry, to their own individual tastes and preferences.”

With a fridge for instance, a customer can choose how they want both the form and function to be. In other words, what they want the outside to look like and the colours of the panels used and the functions inside, in terms of the fridge’s set up.

Mackay talked about one of the features and reasons why Samsung appliances perform efficiently – Digital Inverter Technology (DIT). “DIT is the innovative technology that we put into our appliances to make them perform efficiently and reduce energy consumption. The secret lies in the inverter, which is responsible for controlling the speed of the appliance’s motor. Whether it’s the cooling adjustments needed in your fridge to keep your food fresh for longer or the washing or drying of your clothes in the washing machine, DIT is the technology that makes our products energy and cost-efficient. Samsung supports bid of Busan expo 2030

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – 12 October 2022 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced the win of 42 2022 (IDEA 2022).

IDEA is a design awards programme held by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), founded in 1980, to acknowledge achievements in industrial design. This year, IDEA has chosen winners in 20 categories, including Home, Consumer Technology, Digital Interaction and Design Strategy. Key criteria for evaluation also include Design Innovation, Benefit to User, Benefit to Society and more.

Samsung’s product design reflects the company’s changing values and innovative technology. The interactive, region-specific and advanced designs were recognised to be progressive and diverse.

“It is important to provide an optimised experience for changing consumer values and lifestyles,” said Jinsoo Kim, Executive Vice President at Corporate Design Centre in Samsung Electronics. “We will constantly strive to provide sustainable experiences with creative innovations for our customers.”

Bespoke Won Two Golds for its Customisable Designs and User Experiences that fits different lifestyles

• The Bespoke US Kitchen Package (Bespoke US Kitchen Package & Bespoke FDR RF8000B), a home appliance package including refrigerator, oven-range, microwave and dishwasher available in the North America region, was one of two Gold award winners. Based on the Bespoke philosophy that caters to the preference of users, the package provides an integrated design experience that emphasises harmony in the kitchen space.
• The design of the 4-door (French door) refrigerator, newly launched in North America, maximises convenience for consumers as it comes with replaceable door panels that owners can choose according to their preferences and lifestyles. The Beverage Centre, built into the interior to minimise contamination, stores clean and purified water, and the Dual Auto Ice Maker quickly makes Cubed Ice and smaller Ice Bites.

The Bespoke Jet, the cordless stick vacuum with an all-in-one Clean Station, has also won the Gold award for its excellence in design. It offers a unique experience that covers the whole process from cleaning and disposal to storage.

After placing the vacuum on the Clean Station, users can empty the dust bin with a simple press of a button, keeping the home area and air fresh and clean from dust. The all-in-one design of the Bespoke Jet ensures convenience that also looks great to match any living space.

A wide range of Samsung Products Achieved Five Silver Awards and One Bronze Award for their Advanced Designs 

The Galaxy Tab S8, out of the Silver awarded, has been highlighted for its slimmest, lightest, but strongest body yet, combined with the largest 14.6-inch AMOLED display. The expansive display is protected by the Armor Aluminium frame, allowing the device to be scratch-resistant and less prone to bending. The tablet also features a dedicated S Pen charging pad on the back of the device that is seamlessly integrated with the camera housing for a satisfying design experience.

Another Silver winner was the Galaxy Upcycling at Home, a program that gives new life to older Galaxy smartphones by repurposing them into Internet of Things (IoT) devices with a simple software update. Through the SmartThings app, users can repurpose unused smartphones into convenient smart home devices such as a childcare monitor or a pet care. In addition, other Silver awards went to:

• Samsung India Keyboard, which provides an optimised smartphone keyboard experience that supports faster & easier typing in 29 Indian languages.

• Cook Sensor, which helps you cook your favourite food much more easily by connecting the Samsung Induction Cooktop to the SmartThings Kitchen Service.
• Samsung Air Hood, a concept design that combines the functions of hood, air conditioner and air purifier to help improve the cooking environment in the kitchens of Southwest Asia.

The Bronze award was given to the Galaxy Z Flip3 case, which provides a variety of options to customise the phone using a ring or a colourful strap.
