Launched at ISE 2025, the energy-efficient Samsung Colour E-Paper (EMDX model) stunned visitors with its vibrant digital ink technology and slim, lightweight design. This innovative signage solution is ideal for locations where content remains the same for a week or longer — such as retail or grocery stores and outdoor spaces such as bus stops. The display uses 0.00W¹ of power when showing a static image and can easily be managed through a dedicated app² or with Samsung VXT (Visual eXperience Transformation), a cloud-based content management solution (CMS) platform.

HoloDisplay: Bringing Signage to Life With 3D Innovation

In the United States, NASCAR’s new remote race control room now utilises The Wall enhanced race officiating. Officials can review comprehensive, real-time video, audio and data from the track and remotely oversee races on an impressive 32-foot-wide, 9-foot-tall screen.

The Wall for Virtual Production: A Seamless, Cost-Effective LED Stage Solution for Filmmakers

Samsung hosted a live demonstration at Samsung Corporate Broadcast Studio inside the ISE 2025 venue to showcase the seamless integration of The Wall for Virtual Production (IVC model) with Arnold & Richter Cine Technik (ARRI) cameras and lighting fixtures as well as Realtime Department’s digital experience solution. The combination of these technologies created ready-to-shoot LED backgrounds for virtual production — ensuring exceptional image quality and ease of use for corporate, broadcast and media environments.

The C-Lab exhibition at CES 2025 featured 15 startups and projects, including 12 from C-Lab Outside, Samsung’s program for external startups; two projects from C-Lab Inside, which is an in-house idea incubation program for Samsung employees; and one C-Lab Spin-Off startup, which was founded following its success within C-Lab Inside.

Many of these startups were recognized with CES Innovation Awards from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) for their technological innovation and creativity. Samsung Newsroom met with three CES Innovation Award winners, Pinpoint (smart city technology), Quester (XR technology) and GhostPass (security/fintech technology), at the C-Lab exhibition to learn more about their groundbreaking work.

Pinpoint: First Step Toward Global Recognition With C-Lab

Samsung’s C-Lab is helping innovative startups make their mark on the global stage. Through the C-Lab Outside program, Samsung provides opportunities for outstanding startups to participate in world-class exhibitions such as CES while offering support for exhibition preparation and customized consulting for the CES Innovation Award application process.

Pinpoint, a 2024 participant in C-Lab Outside, made its global debut at the C-Lab exhibition at CES 2025. The startup won an Innovation Award in the Smart Cities category for its IoT-integrated management solution for building operations.

Pinpoint’s building solution is a smart management system that increases operational efficiency for building operators while delivering a personalized user experience. Operators benefit from integrated control over all resources within the building, while users can easily access various services such as reservations, parking, robot delivery and more via a mobile app.

At the exhibition, Pinpoint focused on demonstrating its cloud-based optimized building solutions in action. “I think Pinpoint’s smart building solutions can be very useful in Korea considering the buildings there are probably built quite vertically, instead of horizontally like they generally are here in the United States, where I’m living,” said one visitor.

“We aim to gauge the response of the global market and actively seek opportunities for collaboration through participation in CES,” said Jin Hyuk Ahn, CEO of Pinpoint. “Thanks to C-Lab’s structured support, we are excited and proud to be able to present our solutions on a global stage, where many consumer-oriented products and services compete with each other,” he added. “It was challenging to fully understand the judging criteria and convey our core strengths, but the case studies and data preparation guides provided by C-Lab were invaluable.”

Pinpoint is enhancing its technology by piloting its solutions in conjunction with SmartThings Pro, an advanced enterprise version of Samsung’s SmartThings platform, and b.IoT, Samsung’s integrated building management solution. After sharing its vision with the world at CES 2025, Pinpoint plans to continue further enhancing user experience-driven space planning and design toward becoming the gold standard in the industry.”

Quester: Locally Discovered by C-Lab, Globally Recognized at CES

Samsung’s C-Lab serves as a platform to help regional startups grow as well. In addition to Seoul, C-Lab Outside programs operate in Daegu, Gwangju and Gyeongbuk (Gyeongsan) to nurture and promote outstanding startups.

Quester, which grew through C-Lab Outside Daegu in 2024, showcased its innovative hand-tracking glove technology at CES 2025 — a debut made more special by winning an Innovation Award in the XR Technologies & Accessories category.

Quester’s hand-tracking glove technology precisely identifies and tracks the way a hand moves to implement such movements. To overcome the limitations of existing technologies, which are often sensitive to external factors that limit the usage environment, Quester has adopted an approach called sensor fusion. This approach delivers stable performance by combining the advantages of multiple sensors and will be applied in various fields, including immersive content, robotics and motion capture.

At its booth at CES 2025, Quester focused on demonstrating its technological strengths and development direction through prototypes. These demonstrations allowed Quester to not only test their technology but also attract crucial feedback from potential clients, which the startup plans to incorporate into its research on new functions to satisfy various client needs.

“By researching hand-tracking technology starting with virtual experimental content, we were able to develop an innovative solution with universal applicability,” said Jeongwu Lee, CEO of Quester. “Through the infrastructure of C-Lab Outside Daegu, along with various consulting opportunities and the experience acquired from promoting our technology at domestic technology fairs, we were able to grow further.”

At CES 2025, Quester aims to connect with various industry stakeholders to identify collaboration opportunities and gain insights for enhancing its products.

GhostPass: Expanding Beyond Korea With C-Lab’s Support

Samsung continues to support the growth of C-Lab graduates. Even after graduation, these startups benefit from industry partnerships, investments and opportunities for synergies with Samsung, helping them become more competitive in the global market.

GhostPass, part of C-Lab Outside in 2023, showcases its biometric authentication technology at the C-Lab exhibition for the second consecutive year. GhostPass’ CES achievements include winning an Innovation Award in the Smart Cities category last year and the Best of Innovation Award in the FinTech category this year.

GhostPass’ biometric authentication solution is characterized by its two-factor authentication technology. The technology stores biometric information, such as facial and iris data, only on the user’s smartphone rather than on a server or separate device and supports remote authentication from other devices. This increases security and allows users to manage their biometric information directly on their devices. The solution is also expected to help businesses reduce operational costs by eliminating the need for server-based storage.

At CES 2025, GhostPass expanded its application to the fintech sector, demonstrating an unmanned store concept where visitors experienced biometric authentication from entry to payment. “What’s most impressive is the fact that no third party is collecting the biometric data. It’s an innovative solution that I think will have many applications,” said Huseyin Ada, a visitor from Türkiye after trying out the technology.

“As a member of the C-Lab Family, we’ve had the opportunity to participate in global exhibitions and receive valuable feedback from industry stakeholders worldwide,” said Seongwan Lee, CEO of GhostPass. “All of our brochures are gone already! Our booth’s popularity this year is definitely exceeding last year’s. With this momentum, we hope to establish global collaboration partnerships at CES 2025 and achieve tangible results,” he added. “Advice from Samsung employees was instrumental in preparing for the exhibition and showcasing our technology effectively.”

AI Stay: Providing Customized Accommodation Spaces 

The AI Stay section displayed smart hotel solutions of the future. Features included smartphone-based check-ins, personalized settings and Good Night mode — creating a comfortable, home-like environment even while traveling.

SmartThings for Cars: Bridging Home and Car With Smart Connectivity

At the SmartThings for Cars zone, visitors were introduced to new possibilities in mobility — featuring technologies that connect vehicles and homes through the SmartThings app. Solutions like energy optimization, efficient EV charging and remote vehicle controls optimize convenience and bring homes and cars closer together.

SmartThings Energy: Promoting a New Era of Sustainable Energy Solutions

The SmartThings Energy section presented sustainable living technologies including solar panel integration, EV-based emergency power supplies and 3D Map View for real-time energy monitoring. Visitors learned how solar panels and electric vehicles can work together to generate self-sufficient energy, with EV batteries serving as backup power during outages. They also saw firsthand how 3D Map View offers a comprehensive overview of home energy consumption and explored AI-powered energy-saving modes that optimize backup battery usage.

“As someone active on social media, I want to spread the word that Samsung SmartThings offers practical solutions for energy savings and connectivity,” said Erick “Alexander” Vargas, an attendee from Mexico. “I’m excited to share with my followers how Samsung is leading the way with its AI technologies.”

SmartThings Find: Offering Easy Location Tracking for Parked Cars

SmartThings Find stood out for its highly practical application and everyday convenience, enabling users to effortlessly locate their vehicles in sprawling parking lots with their Galaxy devices. Other highlights from this part of the exhibit included SmartThings-enabled features such as remote vehicle control, which can adjust the climate, as well as lock and unlock doors.

SmartThings for Ships: Harnessing Smart Technology at Sea

The SmartThings for Ships zone demonstrated how smart technology is revolutionizing marine vessels, introducing forward-thinking technologies such as autonomous navigation systems like SHIFT-AUTO and integrated smart solutions that maximize operational efficiency and safety in maritime settings.

Visitors to Samsung’s booth had the chance to explore these advancements through an immersive simulation. This hands-on experience included monitoring vessel systems, setting voyage routes and controlling onboard systems.

“The Smart Ship interactive simulation was incredibly impressive,” said Reshmee Semmen, an attendee from South Africa who expressed enthusiasm for Samsung’s promising potential in AI. “I’m excited to see how Samsung, with its long history, will continue to expand AI into so many fields.”

Smart technology is also making journeys at sea safer and more convenient for ship passengers. At the booth, visitors observed SmartThings-enabled technologies for managing essential ship and vessel systems including pre-departure device checks and five scenario-based modes (Departure, Boarding, Notifications, Care Mode, Protection Mode).

Society: Creating a Better World for Generations to Come 

Located on the other side of Samsung’s booth, the Society zone emphasized the “social” pillar of the company’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives. This area spotlighted technologies designed to enhance accessibility, along with global education programs like Solve for Tomorrow and Samsung Innovation Campus.

Samsung introduced a range of solutions that enhance accessibility for all users. Visitors got the chance to experience how AI and Bixby are breaking down barriers in everyday life, enabling effortless control of home appliances and device troubleshooting through voice command capabilities.

Other highlights included AI-based text-to-speech audio subtitles — a feature that converts on-screen subtitles into speech, providing visually impaired users with access to global content — and sync accessibility settings capabilities to ensure a smooth user experience by automatically applying existing accessibility settings to new devices.

Samsung introduced a convenient and safe Home AI experience focused on Ease of Use, Care and Saving (energy efficiency).

Security First: Enhancing Connectivity and Safety

Security is at the core of Bespoke Home AI. Samsung has made protecting user data a top priority by leveraging Knox technology to ensure greater security for homes. With this safety in mind, SmartThings is rapidly expanding its integrated ecosystem — providing enhanced security in a connected environment where devices monitor each other’s security status.

Samsung has enhanced the safety of connected home appliances through Knox,^[3] becoming the first company in the consumer electronics industry to receive UL Solutions’ highest rating of “Diamond” and holding the largest number of certifications in the industry for IoT security.

Home AI: Technology That Understands Users’ Tastes and Their Living Spaces

The BESPOKE AI Lifestyle Zone

The BESPOKE AI Lifestyle Zone demonstrated various connected experiences with Samsung home appliances including the Bespoke 4-Door Refrigerator with AI Family Hub, the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI and the Bespoke Slide-in Range.

Bixby can recognize a user’s voice and switch to their individual Family Hub account when they ask about their daily schedule.^[4] If a user has large print mode enabled on their phone, the accessibility feature automatically syncs with the Family Hub refrigerator screen when they speak.

Home AI helps reduce wasted ingredients and saves user’s time with the Bespoke 4-Door Refrigerator with AI Family Hub’s AI Vision Inside ^[5] and Bixby. When a user asks Bixby if there are any ingredients nearing their expiration date, the voice assistant provides a list. A follow-up request for recipes prompts Bixby to suggest tailored recommendations^[6] using those ingredients. Bixby can then send the recipe instructions to the Bespoke Slide-in Range, automatically setting the temperature and cooking time.

When mobile GPS and home sensors detect that users are away, appliances can autonomously operate in a Home AI environment to match users’ preferences. Noisy tasks like the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI emptying its dust bin^[7] or the WindFree Air Conditioner drying its interior can be handled while users are away.

If sensors detect suspicious activity while family members are away, the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI moves to the location to assess the situation with its internal camera and sends a SmartThings notification to the user’s mobile device for real-time video monitoring. If an intrusion is identified, an alert will immediately be sent to the user’s connected security provider

 Furthermore, Samsung appliances proactively prevent everyday dangers. For instance, the Bespoke AI Induction cooktop ^[9] will automatically adjust its power to prevent any accidents if left on for too long.^[10]
Video displays presented Samsung’s Multi Device Experience (MDE) features and highlighted the values of Ease of Use, Care and Saving — showcasing the WindFree Air Conditioner that customizes operation according to usage patterns, the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI that records videos of pets^[11] with a built-in camera and sends a notification to SmartThings and the SmartThings energy usage report^[12] that makes energy use more efficient.

AI Home Touch Screens: Easy Control Anytime, Anywhere

AI Home^[13] touch screens allow users to reduce the burden of household chores and easily control their connected Samsung home appliances from the comfort of their home.^[14]

The Screens Everywhere Zone showcased a refrigerator with a new 9-inch AI Home screen and the new Bespoke AI Washer and Dryer set with 7-inch AI Home screen, both introduced this year. Appliances equipped with AI Home can be controlled securely without the need for a separate hub.

Whether listening to music or on a call, users can move seamlessly between rooms and continue watching content on connected devices throughout their home.

Samsung’s booth introduced immersive future home experiences centered around the themes of Home for Efficiency, Home for Wellness, Home for Loved Ones, Home for Productivity and Home for Art — offering a comprehensive look at how AI is shaping modern living.

Home for Efficiency

The Home for Efficiency zone demonstrated how AI technology and SmartThings Energy streamline household tasks and energy management. Visitors were impressed by solutions that focused on energy saving and time management, fostering a more eco-conscious lifestyle.

“I feel like [SmartThings Energy features] will have a direct impact in helping me save money,” said Jay Trofe, an attendee from Denver, Pennsylvania. “This will help me greatly reduce my [utility bills], especially when I go away on vacation.”

Samsung showcased AI-powered smart appliances designed to save time and enhance efficiency. The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, for example, adjusts washing and drying based on fabric type while completing both tasks — eliminating the need to move the laundry across machines. Similarly, the Bespoke AI Jet Bot Combo learns users’ daily routines to autonomously clean floors and manage mopping through Bixby.^[1]

Home for Loved Ones

In the Home for Loved Ones zone, visitors were introduced to AI solutions that help care for family members, pets and plants. Integrated with advanced connected sensors, SmartThings can detect incidents like falls, sending emergency alerts to pre-approved connected devices such as family members’ smartphones, TVs and Family Hub refrigerators.

This exhibition space captured visitors’ attention by showcasing comprehensive management solutions for all household members in user’s lives including pets, children and plants. Highlights included the Galaxy SmartTag2 for tracking pet activity and detecting unusual behavior, and SmartThings-enabled features that send alerts when a baby cries or monitor and adjust the temperature and light levels to support plant care.

 Home for Productivity

The Home for Productivity zone spotlighted tools for optimizing work and study powered by Galaxy AI. Visitors experienced the soon-to-be-released Galaxy Book5 Pro’s AI Select feature, enabling them to instantly search specific areas on the screen or extract text from images for quick and easy access to information.

Home for Art

In the Home for Art zone, visitors were greeted by famous works of art — presented by Samsung Art Store in collaboration with seven renowned art institutions including the Musée d’Orsay, Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), The Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET), Museo Nacional del Prado, Tate, Belvedere and Art Basel. This area offered a unique cultural experience to visitors while showcasing the versatility of Samsung’s cutting-edge screens.

“This space is just breathtaking because it’s so immersive,” said Scott Mulkey, an attendee from Dallas, Texas. “You really feel like you are stepping inside the art.”

Samsung’s CES 2025 booth showcased a wide array of groundbreaking solutions under its “AI for All” vision — from energy-saving technologies to advanced care features for loved ones.
