Your Galaxy wearables are about to get even smarter, starting this winter. The Gemini app is set to debut on the Galaxy Watch6 series and later models, making its first integration into the Galaxy wearable lineup. Moreover, activating Gemini will be smoother than ever when paired with the Galaxy Buds3 series. This update will extend AI functionalities—previously exclusive to smartphones—across the entire Galaxy ecosystem, creating a more cohesive and intelligent user experience.

Galaxy Watch: Your Routine, Made Effortless

With Gemini on your Galaxy Watch, your daily routine is a breeze. If you’re working out and remember you need to send yesterday’s meeting notes, simply ask Gemini to find the relevant email using natural voice commands such as “Where’s the latest email about yesterday’s board meeting?” Then tell Gemini to send a summary of the email in a text message to your team. When you’re carrying heavy shopping bags and need to take a break, simply activate Gemini on your Galaxy Watch and ask to find a nearby café—all without breaking stride to use your phone.

With Gemini, Galaxy Watch users can stay productive on the move

Galaxy Buds: Seamless Device Interaction

When used with Galaxy Buds, the Gemini experience becomes even more seamless. By using voice or pinch and hold controls, you can activate Gemini on your Galaxy Buds and smoothly interact with your Galaxy smartphone.

The recently released Galaxy S24 series opened up new possibilities to connect across cultures with the groundbreaking power of Galaxy AI. You can break down language barriers — all thanks to the secure on-device AI.

And now, with its latest updates, the Galaxy Buds series is making these smart features even more seamless.

By introducing a range of hands-free, AI-powered features, Galaxy Buds’ upgrades not only put you at the center of a crystal-clear sound experience – they also connect you to the heart of the Samsung ecosystem. Whether paired with the Galaxy S24 series, the Galaxy Tab series, Samsung TVs and more, the all-new convenient and intelligent capabilities of the Galaxy Buds help you better tune in to the world around you.

Barrier-Free Communication With Galaxy Buds

Tired of feeling lost in the translation during conversations? The Galaxy S24 series’ real-time translation features lets you talk to anyone, anywhere and this barrier-free communication gets even better with the Galaxy Buds.

Interpreter: Interpreter enhances communication by providing real-time translation on your Galaxy S24 series. When paired with the Galaxy Buds, they further optimize the feature by separating sound during conversation. You can listen to translations through your earbuds, while the other person hears through your phone speakers, helping you to focus better on the conversation and eliminating the need to pass your device back and forth. Plus, you can effortlessly swap the order of speech during the conversation by simply tapping on the buds, without having to manually adjust the order with your phone.

Enhanced Connectivity with the Samsung Ecosystem

The latest Galaxy Buds updates not only lets you dial into richer and more immersive sound, but they also connect you seamlessly across Samsung devices.

Auracast: Last year, Samsung introduced Auracast for Samsung Smart TVs on the Galaxy Buds2 Pro —transforming your TV[i] into shared radio station that can be broadcasted across multiple Buds. Now, with the latest update, this feature is coming to phones and tablets[ii] including the Galaxy S24 series.

360 Audio: The best audio experience, places users in the center of the action, and 360 Audio delivers surround sound from all directions. Previously supported on Samsung phones and tablets, 360 Audio will now be available for Samsung TVs[iii], providing a theater-like experience at home. Galaxy Buds will also be able track your head movement to create a truly immersive soundscape.

Auto Switch: Say you’re watching your Samsung TV with your Galaxy Buds and receives a call. Auto Switch automatically shifts the connection to your Galaxy phone and then switches back when the call ends.

The Future is Loud and Clear

In addition to the latest Galaxy AI feature update, this software update for enhanced connectivity will be made progressively available on the Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Buds2 and Buds FE, starting in late February.[iv] Samsung will continue evolving the Galaxy Buds series to deliver intelligent, best-in-class and seamlessly connected sound — anytime, anywhere and with every connection.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – 16 July 2019 – Samsung, an official sponsor of the 18th FINA World Championships Gwangju 2019, has launched the “Make the Wave” campaign to encourage athletes and also inspire their fans by connecting them through inspiring music, based on its brand philosophy, “Do What You Can’t”.

Samsung appointed Simone Manuel as the ambassador for this year’s campaign, to encourage sports fans from all over the world to share music through social media. Simone Manuel won a gold medal and set an Olympic record in the women’s 100-meter freestyle at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. As Samsung’s ambassador for the event, she will share a message of encouragement and discuss pushing boundaries without losing hope amid difficult circumstances, as well as talk about the songs and the music that inspire her and help boost her performance.

As part of the campaign, special events are planned for aspiring swimmers in Gwangju city. Students will be provided with a chance to be escorts for the water polo finals. They will also meet Kim Se-jin, an accomplished swimmer better known as the “robotic leg swimmer,” who was a member of South Korea’s national disabled swimming team.

“This campaign is designed to spread the heat of the competition with a variety of marketing activities, to share the stories of swimmers who are challenging themselves in working toward their dreams and to cheer on one another through music, powered by our brand philosophy of ‘Do What You Can’t,’” said Cambridge Mokanyane, Chief Marketing Officer at Samsung South Africa. “I hope that everyone will enjoy the events throughout our ‘Make the Wave’ campaign.”

“I am glad to be able to share my stories and songs by participating in the ‘Make the Wave’ campaign, which corresponds with my can-do spirit. I hope all swimmers will leave the competition without any regrets and that sports fans will cheer on the athletes loudly,” said Simone Manuel.

Samsung Electronics has set up a 255 square meter experience zone in the athlete village, where athletes will be able to interact with other swimmers through uniform exchange, birthday parties and a Korean name calligraphy event. Additionally, there will be opportunities to test out Samsung’s latest products such as the Galaxy S10 series, AKG N700 headphones, ‘The Frame’ 4K TV and Samsung Notebook 7.

Samsung, which has sponsored FINA since 2015, has been supporting the events with various products. For this year’s events in Gwangju, in addition to the official sponsorship, Samsung is providing and 1,996 refrigerators for the athlete village and the stadiums where the competitions will take place.

The 18th FINA World Championships Gwangju 2019, which kicked- off on July 12, is one of the world’s top-five mega sports events, with competitions in six events – swimming, diving, high diving, water polo, artistic swimming and open water swimming. About 7,266 aquatic sports athletes, officials, media and International Swimming Federation officials from 193 countries have registered an all-time high. More than 12,000 participants are expected to gather in Gwangju for the events, including the World Masters Swimming Competition starting on August 5.

Any sports fan can participate in the digital event on the official website of Samsung to share their songs and cheer for the athletes. Those interested in the event can visit the official page (www.samsung.com/fina2019), select the music they have been inspired by when facing new challenges and share it on their personal social media with their own album cover. This event will be held from July 9 to August 18 during which 20 AKG N700 headphones and 41 Galaxy Buds will be given away through a lucky draw.
