After having firmly established itself as a highlight on the nation’s cultural calendar, Galaxy 947 Joburg Day has become more than just a name as it proved once again to be an immersive experience that brings together the best of South African talent and the latest in mobile innovation from Samsung. With the Galaxy Z Flip5 as a spotlight feature, attendees enjoyed unique experiences that will flipped what it means to selfie and showing the world who you are. The Galaxy Fliptown Marquee featured a Y2K glam make-up station, a light-painting booth where you could take artistic portraits and an arcade claw machine where one could win lots of amazing prizes.

At the heart of the event was the remarkable artist lineup, curated to captivate fans of all ages through electrifying performances by renowned local talents, including Jeremey Loops, Mango Groove, DJ Maphorisa, GoodLuck, K.O, Shekhinah, Mafikizolo, Prince Kaybee, DJ Zinhle, Mi Casa, Mega Band, and DJ Kent. These local superstars created an atmosphere that transcended boundaries, connecting people through the universal language of music. There was also special flip-cam that captured dancers in the crowd and made them stars on the big screens. Revellers were in for a treat as some awesome prizes were up for grabs including a Galaxy Z Flip5 and a Galaxy Watch6.

This the second year of the partnership between Samsung Galaxy and 947’s biggest concert – a marriage of two cool brands. So with music on the stage and Galaxy Fliptown on the scene, attendees mixed their music experience with the exploration of the cool features and Y2K nowstalgia inspired design of the Galaxy Z Flip5 up close.
