Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced the availability of Galaxy AI^[1] features on more Galaxy devices through a new One UI 6.1 update engineered to further the democratisation of mobile AI. The update will be available across the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5 and Tab S9 series, starting to roll out from end of March. In 2019, Samsung’s Galaxy Fold shattered the conventional notion of mobile phones. Featuring a remarkable 7.3-inch Infinity Flex Display, this revolutionary device offered users a tablet-like experience right from the palm of their hands. The larger screen opened new possibilities for more versatile content viewing. For example, users could split the display into two or three sections based on their preferences. The Galaxy Z Flip5 and Fold5 feature[xxx] a wider variety of recycled materials[xxxi] than their previous generations, including pre-consumer recycled glass and aluminum and post-consumer recycled plastics, sourced from discarded fishing nets, water barrels and PET bottles. Even the paper used for their packaging box[xxxii] is made using 100 percent recycled material[xxxiii].

These innovations have also been purposefully designed for optimised longevity. Each device comes with five years of security updates and four generations of OS upgrades, helping to extend the product lifecycle.

Availability

The Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 will be available for pre-order in select markets after Unpacked on 26 July 2023, with general availability starting on 18 August 2023.
