Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has unveiled its most advanced Odyssey gaming monitor line-up yet, introducing five new models that push the boundaries of resolution, refresh rates and immersive visual performance. Led by Samsung’s first 6K 3D Odyssey G9, the 2026 line-up debuts display technologies for gamers and creators, including the next-generation Odyssey G6 and three new Odyssey G8 models.

The 32-inch Odyssey 3D (G90XH model) debuts the 6K display with glasses-free 3D, introducing a new way to experience games on a monitor. Powered by real-time eye tracking, it adjusts depth and perspective in response to the viewer’s position, creating a layered sense of dimension for smooth, uninterrupted gameplay without the need for a headset. With 6K resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate boosted to 330Hz through Dual Mode and a 1ms GtG^[1] response time, fast action stays sharp and smooth. Leading the line-up, the 32-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HS model), the industry’s first 6K gaming monitor, delivers native 165Hz performance with Dual Mode that supports up to 330Hz in 3K mode. The 27-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HF model) provides a sharper 5K option with native support up to 180Hz, and with Dual Mode boosting to 360Hz in QHD for smoother motion.

For users who want deeper contrast, the 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH model) pairs a 4K QD-OLED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate, Glare Free viewing, 300-nit brightness and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced that it has retained its position as the world’s top gaming monitor brand for the sixth consecutive year, according to the latest data from the International Data Corporation (IDC).

Based on total revenue, Samsung captured the highest 21.0% share of the global gaming monitor market in 2024,^[1] reaffirming its dominance in a fast-evolving, performance-driven industry. Samsung also ranked first in the global OLED monitor segment for the second year in a row – reaching a 34.6% market share just two years after launching its first OLED model.^[2]

Odyssey OLED Series: Visual Excellence With New Burn-In Prevention Features

The 2024 Odyssey OLED models expand Samsung’s offerings of next-generation OLED performance with the new Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD model).

The Odyssey OLED G6 is a 27” QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution monitor, supporting a 16:9 aspect ratio. Its 360Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms GtG response time make it easy for gamers to keep up with fast-moving gameplay.

The new OLED model features Samsung OLED Safeguard+, a new proprietary burn-in protection technology. This technology is one of the first in the world to prevent burn-in by applying a pulsating heat pipe to the monitor.

Additionally, the Dynamic Cooling System evaporates and condenses a coolant to diffuse heat five times more effectively than the older graphite sheet method, which prevents burn-in by reducing temperature at the core. The monitor also detects static images like logos and taskbars, automatically reducing their brightness to provide another means of burn-in prevention ^[2]

The OLED G6 delivers excellent OLED picture quality with a brightness of 250 nits (Typ.), while FreeSync Premium Pro keeps the GPU and display panel synced up to eliminate choppiness, screen lag and screen tearing.

Samsung’s new OLED Glare Free technology ^[3] also preserves color accuracy and reduces reflections while maintaining image sharpness to ensure an immersive viewing experience, even in daylight. The OLED-optimized, low-reflection coating overcomes the trade-off between gloss and reflection thanks to a new, specialized hard-coating layer and surface coating pattern.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., one of the global leaders in the display industry, has secured the top position in global sales of OLED monitors just one year after launching its first OLED model — the 34″ Odyssey OLED G8 (G85SB model), a gaming monitor.

According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), Samsung Electronics has taken the top position in the global OLED monitor market by capturing 34.7% of market share based on total revenue, and the top position in market share based on sales volume with 28.3% of OLED monitors sold in 2023 ^[1] .
