In this final instalment, Samsung Newsroom editors and the Good Lock development team put the spotlight on some of the standout features.

Wonderland: Dynamic Customisation for Lock and Home Screens

Wonderland enables users to create animated wallpapers for the lock and home screens — bringing a vibrant, dynamic aesthetic to the first screens encountered when the device is turned on. Previously, the same wallpaper had to be applied to both the lock and home screens. However, in response to user feedback, each screen can now be customised independently for greater creative freedom.

Users can layer various design elements — such as images, text, videos and particle effects ¹ — and apply motion effects including left-right, up-down and front-back movement to create 3D wallpapers that respond dynamically to device tilt and touch.

Moreover, users can personalise the transition effects between the Always On Display (AOD) and the lock screen to add a stylish touch to their device’s first impression. Detailed controls over transition speed and depth allow for playful effects, such as stickers that appear and disappear over an image.

As one of Good Lock’s defining features, Wonderland combines creativity with the satisfaction of a visually immersive experience.

Edge Lighting+: Customised Notifications That Catch the Eye

Good Lock’s No. 3 Feature: One Hand Operation+

Ranking third among the most-used Good Lock features, One Hand Operation+ has proven its practicality with more than 16 million cumulative downloads.

This feature enables users to perform frequently used smartphone functions with a single thumb gesture, making it particularly helpful for multi-tasking throughout the day. Whether holding a drink in one hand or navigating through a crowded bus on the way to work, One Hand Operation+ guarantees users smooth, effortless control of their device.

The tool supports both left and right-handed users and allows specific functions to be assigned to horizontal, vertical or diagonal gestures. For instance, a left horizontal swipe could be set to “Back,” a right downward diagonal swipe to “Home” and an upward diagonal swipe to open “Recent Apps” or launch AI Select.

Users can further customise and refine gesture control settings to match their preferences and usage patterns. Options include adjusting the touch recognition range and gesture vibration intensity, excluding specific apps from gesture activation and even configuring gestures for the S Pen. This feature is especially useful in busy daily routines — an underrated yet powerful capability that delivers exceptional convenience with a single, simple gesture.

DIY Home Screen: A Fresh Take on App Layout and Organisation

Breaking away from traditional grids and uniform app icons, the DIY Home Screen feature in Home Up empowers users to design a layout that reflects their unique style. Apps, widgets and folders can all be freely resized and repositioned — much like customising the pages of a planner.

For a playful touch, users can cleverly conceal app icons underneath decorative elements with sticker and layer tools. Simply add a sticker to the home screen, place it over an app icon and adjust the layer settings. This setup transforms the sticker into a fun shortcut that launches the hidden app when tapped.

Show Favorites: Display or Hide the Favourite Apps Row

The fixed row of favourites at the bottom of the home screen is a familiar element on most smartphones. With Good Lock, however, this default layout is easy to customise. Users who prefer a cleaner, more minimalist aesthetic can disable the Show Favourites option in the Home Up menu for a simplified and refreshed home screen experience.

Home Gesture Animation: Fine-Tuned Control for Smoother Navigation

The Home Gesture Animation feature — found under Good Lock > Home Up > Gesture Settings — is perfect for users who want to add a touch of personality to every interaction. The feature offers a unique way to customise the transition animations activated when returning from an app to the home screen, making even the simplest gestures more expressive and enjoyable.

Alongside the four preset animation styles, Advanced Tuning provide granular control over aspects like speed and vibration for a more refined user experience.

For example, a user can simple swipe the Edge Panel and click ‘AI Select’ icon when watching a video to save it as a GIF file. Writing Assist⁴allows users to easily summarise or automatically format contents in which texts can be selected.

One UI 7 also enables simple edits to give users more creative control and freedom. Drawing Assist⁵ helps bring ideas to life with more than a single input, including combinations of text prompts and images or sketches. Audio Eraser⁶ makes advanced editing accessible for all, by isolating categories of sounds and removing unwanted noise in videos.

With deeper Google Gemini⁷integration, controlling the device is as easy as speaking to a friend. Long-press the side button and say, “Find Italian, pet-friendly restaurants with outdoor seating nearby.” Gemini instantly pulls up recommendations in one seamless interaction.

Natural language search⁸ extends to Settings, making it easier to adjust preferences. Users can simply go into Settings and say “My eyes are feeling tired.” In an instant, recommended options such as adjusting brightness or turning on Eye comfort shield appear.

With Interpreter^[iv] in Listening mode, language barriers are no longer an obstacle. Whether listening to a lecture in a foreign language or having a conversation with someone in another language, Interpreter in Listening Mode allows you to hear the translation directly through your Galaxy Buds plugged into your ears without needing to look at your smartphone. Now, you can focus solely on the conversation and engage with others face-to-face.

How to Use Interpreter in Listening mode

1. Open the Interpreter app on your connected smartphone
2. Place the earbuds in your ears
3. Tap on Listening mode on the left side
4. Select your desired language
5. Tap on the microphone icon to start the translation
6. Tap on the microphone icon again to stop the translation
7. Pause, resume the translation using the Buds’ pinch control

Intelligently Optimised Sound, Anytime, Anywhere

Regardless of how you choose to wear your earbuds, the microphones in the Galaxy Buds3 series analyse both internal and external sound in real time to apply the optimal sound and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) through Adaptive EQ and Adaptive ANC for each user.

What’s more, Galaxy Buds3 Pro can intelligently optimise sound in any environment. You can still enjoy your music fully when walking at a park, with Adaptive Noise Control constantly analysing surrounding sound and automatically adjusting the optimal level of noise without you needing to make any manual adjustments. Siren Detect^[v] automatically recognises emergency siren or your voice and raises the ambient sound, allowing you to stay aware of your surroundings or focus your attention on your conversation.

On the Galaxy S25 series, AI agents with multimodal capabilities are integrated within the One UI 7^[2] platform to perform complex tasks seamlessly across apps and enable natural user interactions through speech, text, videos and images. Now Brief^[3] provides tailored suggestions to guide through the day and Now Bar^[4] offers a new hub for ongoing activities. From enhanced productivity with Writing Assist^[5] the expanded capabilities of  Galaxy AI^[6] continue to empower users in every aspect of their daily lives.

Interactions with the Galaxy S25 series are also more intuitive. With just a single command, Gemini^[7] can effortlessly find a user’s favourite sports team’s schedule and add it to Samsung Calendar. Additionally, Google’s enhanced Circle to Search^[8] now gives users more helpful information with AI Overviews and one-tap actions.

The Galaxy S25 series further refines and enhances the core capabilities that define the Galaxy experience. Powering the Galaxy S25 series globally, the Snapdragon^® 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy fuels on-device processing for more responsive AI experiences. With unique customisations for Galaxy, including ProScaler^[9] and Samsung’s mobile Digital Natural Image engine (mDNIe), the Galaxy S25 series boasts enhanced AI image processing and display power efficiency. The newly introduced 50MP ultrawide camera sensor for the Galaxy S25 Ultra delivers epic shots from every range in exceptional clarity, while professional grade controls like Virtual Aperture and Samsung Log turn any photo or video into the ultimate visual experience.

The Galaxy S25 series is the industry’s first smartphone lineup to support Content Credentials, based on the open technical standard from the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA). Samsung has also joined the C2PA as a member, alongside industry leaders including Adobe, Microsoft, OpenAI, Google, Publicis Groupe and more, all collaborating to establish Content Credentials as the universal standard for digital content provenance. In line with its commitment to responsible mobile AI innovation, Samsung adopted this standard to enhance transparency for content created and edited with generative AI.

Starting February 14, the Galaxy S25 series will be widely available through carriers and retailers and on Samsung websites. Galaxy S25 Ultra is available in Titanium Silverblue, Titanium Black, Titanium Whitesilver and Titanium Gray. Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ come in Navy, Silver Shadow, Icyblue and Mint.

All Galaxy S25 devices will come with six months of Gemini Advanced and 2TB of cloud storage at no extra cost. Gemini Advanced comes with Samsung’s most capable AI models and priority access to the newest features like Gems, custom AI experts for any topic, and Deep Research, which acts as a personal AI research assistant.
