Samsung Electronics has been recognised as a leader in the global soundbar market, according to international market research firm, FutureSource Consulting. A report published on 28 February 2023 notes that Samsung topped the soundbar market for the ninth year in a row, commanding 20.2% in market share and accounting for 18.4% of the industry sales volume in 2022.

Samsung soundbars, including the premium Q-series lineup, are expertly crafted and fine-tuned for powerful and immersive sound quality, enhanced compatibility with TVs, and sleek and modern design. Features such as SpaceFit Sound have been praised by customers and reviewers for calibrating sounds to fit the acoustic properties of each space for tailor-made sound experiences.

In fact, Samsung soundbars have impressed industry experts and reviewers, with outlets such as Newsweek commenting that the HW-S800B “delivers impressive room-filling sound” in such a compact form.

This year Samsung is taking its soundbar lineup to the next level with captivating cinematic sounds and premium audio features to win the hearts of consumers and home theatre enthusiasts.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – 21 August 2020 – Just as Samsung TVs have ranked number one globally for 14 consecutive years*, the company’s soundbars

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – 21 August 2020 – Just as Samsung TVs have ranked number one globally for 14 consecutive years*, the company’s soundbars also hold the number one position in the global soundbar market. Samsung has held the number one spot in the global soundbar industry ever since international research firm Futuresource Consulting started officially recording in 2014. According to Futuresource, Samsung ranks number one in sales revenue, maintains 21.8 percent of the global market share, and accounted for 16.5 percent of the industry sales volume in 2019.

All Samsung soundbars and audio technology are tuned at the Samsung Audio Lab in Valencia, California, just outside of Los Angeles. Thanks to continuous efforts from the Samsung Audio Lab, the ‘Q series’, a part of its 2019 premium soundbar lineup, boasts high quality sound for which it garnered positive reviews from key tech media in the U.S. and Europe.

“It is rewarding to see that our competitiveness in the audio market over the last several years has culminated in this result,” said Nivash Ramsern, Head: Visual Display at Samsung South Africa. “We will ensure Samsung remains an industry leader in both the global TV and soundbar market for years to come.”

Samsung’s position as the soundbar market leader will be further strengthened through synergies with Samsung TVs. This technology received the CES 2020 Best of Innovation award, and is standardised across the entire range of Samsung’s soundbars (above Q60T) and some QLED models (above Q80T).

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, 28 March 2019 – Samsung announced today the release of two new Q Series soundbars that comprises Samsung Acoustic Beam technology, as well as the new Adaptive Sound feature. As part of a Samsung Audio Lab and Harman Kardon collaboration, the HW-Q70R and HW-Q60R are smarter than ever, offering an immersive surround sound experience for home theatres.

Utilising Adaptive Sound technology, the HW-Q70R and HW-Q60R soundbars can analyse content played on a viewer’s TV and adjust to ideal sound settings for any given scene. Also, the HW-Q70R and HW-Q60R will automatically switch to adaptive sound mode when Samsung 2019 QLED TV is connected and its AI mode is on.

“Through Adaptive Sound, which understands the sound and optimises it according to the scene, listeners can enjoy even more realistic sound for every genre of content,” said Reginald Nxumalo, Director: Consumer Electronics, Samsung South Africa. “The new Q-Series soundbars carry sound quality that has been revitalised by experts and feature designs that offer an appealing home aesthetic to create a better home theatre experience for our customers.”

The HW-Q70R and HW-Q60R also offer Samsung’s proprietary Acoustic Beam technology feature. Acoustic Beam technology uses an array of holes in the speaker to create a more dynamic, panoramic soundscape. These features will fill every corner of the room through a wide soundscape with full sound. For smarter, easier integration into consumers’ lives, the Q-Series soundbars also feature Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to easily enjoy high-quality music from their smartphones.

In addition, the HW-Q70R soundbar is equipped with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X immersive, 360-degree surround sound technology, which previously was only available in high-end Samsung soundbar models such as the HW-N950 and HW-N850. With the HW-Q70R, consumers can now enjoy an immersive home entertainment experience, with room-filling sound and overhead audio effects. Along with the Dolby Atmos and DTS:X technologies, the HW-Q70R has a slim form factor, with a height of only 2.3 inch (59mm), which provides a better match with the QLED TV.

Samsung’s new soundbars will be available in May. For more information on Samsung soundbars, please visit www.samsung.com.
