2022 models of The Wall deliver incredible technological innovation – including the slimmest ever pixel pitch display at a mere P0.63 JOHANNESBURG,

2022 models of The Wall deliver incredible technological innovation – including the slimmest ever pixel pitch display at a mere P0.63

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – 29 June 2022 – Samsung is showcasing the future of Micro LED technology at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2022 in Barcelona, with three new models of its state-of-the-art display technology, The Wall.

“Micro LED technology is set to define the future of display innovation. From the luxury industry to hospitality and travel, the potential of Micro LED is endless in enabling businesses to achieve more,” said Hyesung Ha, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “ISE is the largest show of its kind in the world and we are excited to unveil our expanded line-up of The Wall. The next-generation technology of The Wall will deliver benefits beyond expectations, transforming any business and unlocking new opportunities.”

2022 The Wall – Introducing Samsung’s Slimmest Ever Pixel Pitch

At ISE this year, Samsung will unveil its 2022 model of The Wall (Model name: IWB) – an innovative modular Micro LED display that delivers immersive viewing experiences in a high-resolution, large screen format. The IWB will be available in 0.63 and 0.94pixel pitches, with 0.63 being the slimmest ever pixel pitch in Samsung The Wall line-up. The new display is now available to preorder globally.

The micro pitch feature of the IWB demonstrates Samsung’s most detailed picture and dynamic range expansion with the screen’s 120Hz frame rate, HDR10/10+ and LED HDR. Following installation, The Wall provides a variety of screen sizes, accommodating 4K movies for 110-inch and up to incredible 8K quality for 220-inch to meet any consumer or business needs. This resolution capability is enhanced by the powerful Micro AI (Artificial Intelligence) Processor, which analyses every second of content instantly and optimises picture quality while removing noise.

The overall size of the cabinets has been increased, allowing businesses and consumers to install only four cabinets to configure the UHD screen, meaning faster and more cost-efficient operation. The display’s improved cabinet strengthens the large, high-resolution screens and improves the mechanical quality for immersive viewing while enhancing seam adjustment. In fact, the installation time has been reduced offering significant benefits to businesses compared to conventional LED signage.

The Wall is also packed with pioneering technology. Firstly, with Multi View, The Wall enables simultaneous multi-source playback from up to four sources, all on one screen, without any additional splitter required for dynamic content display. Secondly, Black Seal Technology built into the display creates a seamless canvas for purer black levels, with an ultra-low reflective film that has been applied to minimize external light reflection. Plus, with 20-bit processing, The Wall delivers outstanding image quality and a smooth viewing experience, supported by a peak of 2,000 nits providing clearer images.

The Wall All-in-One – Innovative and Convenient Installation

Also being unveiled in Barcelona this year, is The Wall All-in-One (Model name: IAB) available in three different models: 4K 146-inch, 2K 146-inch and 2K 110-inch. This incredible, next generation display brings innovation to the installation, not just the viewing experience. The standard resolution of The Wall All-in-One is a 16:9 form factor. The product, which is only sold by screen, will be available globally following ISE 2022.

The most innovative feature of The Wall All-in-One is the convenient installation that features a pre-adjusted seam and a ‘Pre-Assembled Frame Kit.’ This kit, which makes the whole process simple as a consumer TV, includes the 16:9 form factor display’s internalised deco bezel and an embedded media player S-box, also lowering the total cost of ownership.

The Wall All-in-One offers a sleek design with display thinness of just 49mm, which is ultimately 59mm in total installation when measured from wall to screen. This slim, bezel-less infinity design provides a direct input connection on the screen without a separate device – creating a clean and convenient setup.

Additionally, together with 20-bit processing, Black Seal technology and Micro AI Processor, two 4K 146-inch screens can be installed side by side to create a 32:9 form factor model with a detachable feature creating an entire wall of outstanding image quality.

Versatile Display Line-up Adapting to a New Era – From EV Charging Station to Hybrid Classroom

Along with innovative Micro LED technology, Samsung is showcasing various new display products at ISE that will meet the constantly evolving needs of this new era. The new line-up will exemplify Samsung’s ongoing innovation in building solutions that include the likes of contactless communication and enhanced safety features.

Samsung’s latest 2022 outdoor line-up (Model Name: OHA 55’’, 75’’) has been verified for outdoor visibility by Underwriters Laboratories (UL), while the slim composition enables easy installation and long-term performance through certified IP56-rated protection. With its durable and high-performing hardware, the OHA can perform in a variety of conditions. One use case is electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, which are increasing in demand as the sales of electric vehicles continue to rise worldwide.

Samsung Flip Pro’s newly added USB Type-C connectivity provides integrated video control and power (65W charging), while ground-breaking touch latency and multi touch features allow simultaneous collaboration for up to 20 people[1].

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – 14 August, 2019 – We live in an age where we can communicate with people across continents in seconds. Despite this many of us still struggle to connect with people right in front of us, whether it’s in a boardroom, brainstorm session or client presentation. Technology can clearly make presentations more enticing, however many of us still use tools like slideshows and paper flipcharts, which have become overused and outdated because they lack interactivity, shareability and even scalability.

Enter the Samsung FL!P. Samsung has done for the flipchart and whiteboard what smartphones did for landlines – retaining the basic function but adding incredible convenience, efficiency and a dazzling array of useful functionality. While it has the look and feel of a flipchart, the Samsung FL!P is an innovative digital flipchart that helps create interactive presentations. This means both managers and staff can work smarter, faster and better. It’s an ultra-high definition LCD mobile display – a flipchart that drives collaboration and expands presentation capabilities, with a touchscreen that allows you to display work, graphics and AV material, as well as write and save notes. Those with a laptop, tablet or smartphone can mirror their screens to share content. Notes and ideas from a brainstorm can also be recapped and shared instantly, using built-in email, distributed over your network or saved to USB storage. When it’s time to consider moving your meetings and presentations into a new era why not FL!P the script.

Of course, once the technology component is taken care of, there’s just you and the audience. And most people find presenting as fun as a root canal. Here are a few tips to consider:

• Look at and interact with the audience – The main place where you should be looking when presenting, is right in front of you. Don’t just single out one person but instead try to make eye contact with numerous people throughout the room. Where possible, create opportunities to engage with the room through questions or tasks. Otherwise you’re just talking to yourself.

• Show some movement – It’s essential to own the room. Make sure you show some gestures or walk around meaningfully, when speaking. People are simply more engaged with an animated speaker.

• Differentiate yourself – You’re branding yourself every time you speak, so why not do something unique and memorable. That’s how people remember you and your material long after you’ve left the room.

Ultimately, we live in an age when technology can be harnessed to amplify our own unique personality traits and skills. In fact, there has never been a better time to turn every meeting or presentation into an opportunity to stand out and achieve things our future selves will applaud. “Samsung seamlessly integrates business environments and adapts to changing business needs. With its user-centric approach, Samsung has made business technologies simple and easy to use, enabling businesses to adapt to the evolving business environment with ease, says Reginald Nxumalo, Director: B2B, Samsung South Africa.

• It’s time to move closer to a paperless society
• Electronic sharing of notes improves efficiency
• Technology enhances how we consume information

We live in an age where we can communicate with people across continents in seconds and unlock doors and devices using our eyes, much like the futuristic movies from just a few years ago. However, in many ‘modern ‘offices some presentation equipment has still somehow remained despite the evolution of technology. The traditional flipchart and whiteboards are two of tools that have kept the office firmly in the previous century. Enter the Samsung FL!P. Samsung has done for the flipchart and whiteboard what smartphones did for landlines – retaining the basic function but adding incredible convenience, efficiency and a dazzling array of useful functionality.

The Boardroom 2.0 is Calling

While flip charts and whiteboards have always been useful in meetings and brainstorms, they still fall short when it comes to one basic area – taking and sharing notes electronically. Samsung FL!P solves this and adds on a lot more additional uses. While it has the look and feel of a flipchart Samsung FL!P is an innovative digital flipchart that helps create interactive presentations. This means both managers and staff can work smarter, faster and better. It’s an ultra-high definition LCD mobile display – a flipchart on steroids, with a touchscreen that allows you to display work, graphics and AV material, as well as write and save notes. Those with a laptop, tablet or smartphone can mirror their screens to share content. Notes and ideas from a brainstorm can also be recapped and shared instantly, using built-in email, distributed over your network or saved to USB storage. When it’s time to consider moving your meetings into a new era here is a simple comparison of old and new tech.

Traditional Versus Pioneering Technology

Flipchart / Whiteboard Samsung Flip
Dried up/Missing Pens Quick scroll functionality
Waste of paper Up to 20 pages of writing space
Inconvenience of everyone making notes Save and distribute notes electronically
Flipping back and forth between sheets Simple deletion with a quick swipe
Confusing corrections with crossed out text Notes easily corrected and shared

Top 5 reasons for Samsung FL!P

• It’s Portable – Similar to a paper flip chart, it has a stand and wheels, so it’s easy to set up in any boardroom, for any meeting.
• It’s intuitive – It has a built-in smart sensor that turns the FL!P on as soon as someone approaches it.
• It’s a team player – Collaborating on projects becomes a cinch with web-connectivity. Laptops, tablets and smartphone screens can be mirrored on to the FL!P.
• It’s versatile – You can walk your team through a presentation in landscape mode, then pivot the FL!P to portrait mode to make notes.
• It’s smart – You can recap previous meetings, share notes and distribute agendas over your network, from USB storage or via the FL!P’s built-in email function

Ultimately, the Samsung FL!P brings the office of the past boldly into the future. Now’s the time for productivity, creativity and efficiency, which can be effortlessly achieved by turning what was workable, into what really works.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – 24 January, 2019 – The new year is that unique time when forward-thinking companies feel inspired to kick-start a new era of amplified productivity. There’s just one catch. Employees returning from the carefree days of the festive holidays take a while to settle into an efficient daily routine. However, this is exactly the time for managers to refocus teams, build enthusiasm and set clear goals for the year ahead.

“In tough economic times, employee motivation can directly impact to the bottom line. Passionate staff who are focussed and engaged can be the difference between a bad and great year,” says Cambridge Mokanyane, Chief Marketing Officer at Samsung South Africa.

Here are a few ways keep workers driven from the start of the year and through every ebb and flow of the business:

Create Crystal Clear Goals

Employees who know exactly what is expected of them and what they are working towards will enjoy a renewed focus at the start of the year. Take the time to hold one-on-one reviews to assess current performance levels versus expected deliverables. This is the moment to set targets that are achievable and measurable.

Map It Out

Take the time to plot out what a successful year will look like. By mapping out ongoing projects with clear deadlines you can create a greater vision of what the business is aiming for and the employee’s role in the quest. The business year can be an adventure so it’s essential to explore what routes didn’t work last year and flag the ones the company will pursue in 2019.

Make It Worth It

Turn business goals from numbers on a spreadsheet to targets that drive productive behaviour. Bonuses or other pay rewards work but so do smaller rewards that acknowledge hard work and progress. And the rewards don’t have to be financial. A day off is often worth a lot to a staff member – time to run those personal errands that never seem to get done or catch up on some sleep away from their kids. Even a small internal competition can be just the right spark to gain and maintain the attention of staff.

Use Technology To Shake Things Up

Just because something worked last year doesn’t mean it’s going to have the same impact in the new year. Why not turn last year’s ordinary meetings into this year’s most memorable experiences. For example, the Samsung FL!P is an innovative digital flipchart that helps create interactive presentations. This means both managers and staff can work smarter, faster and better. Samsung FL!P is an ultra-high definition LCD mobile display – a flipchart on steroids, with a touchscreen that allows you to display work, graphics and AV material, as well as write and save notes. Those with a laptop, tablet or smartphone can mirror their screens to share content. Notes and ideas from a brainstorm can also be recapped and shared instantly, using built-in email, distributed over your network or saved to USB storage.

With creative communication approaches, rewards and a mapped route to achieving goals, this could be the year staff seize the business torch and boldly lead the company into a prosperous 2019.

In a few years time, users may not have to figure out how to operate different devices individually or make a choice between services. Instead, the new world

In a few years time, users may not have to figure out how to operate different devices individually or make a choice between services. Instead, the new world of connected devices and services based on artificial intelligence (AI) will be able to recommend and perform, on their own, integrated and seamless functions for users in and across environments from the home to office to car.

For example, in the home, when a user wakes up in the morning on a rainy day, the home lights will gradually brighten, while music fit for a rainy day is selected and played in the background. A cup of coffee will be prepared as soon as the user says “coffee” while stepping into the kitchen and the refrigerator will also recommend meal ideas for the day, asking the user whether he or she would like to buy ingredients online.

In the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry, Samsung Electronics is uniquely positioned to bring this world of connected AI services to life, based on the almost half a billion connected devices the company sells every year. In fact, given the typical lifecycle of a device, there are more than a billion Samsung devices actively used around the world at any given time.

Samsung’s device portfolio also is the industry’s broadest, and includes mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets and wearable devices, office devices such as PCs, signages and Samsung Flip, devices for the home such as Samsung Smart TVs, Family Hub and FlexWash and FlexDry, and much more.

At this year’s CES, Samsung highlighted its latest innovations in its vision to drive the Internet of Things (IoT) supported by AI. Samsung Smart TVs now integrated with Bixby, are able to play music and shows personalized for users, as well as show who is at the front door or what is inside the refrigerator. The Family Hub refrigerator, also integrated with AI, recognizes the voices of different family members and provides each of them with a personalized daily schedule.

Moving forward, Samsung will continue to remain focused on holistically integrating AI into a connected setting, such as the home or the office, in contrast to other players primarily pursuing implementation of AI on a few devices and services. In the following months, Samsung will integrate not only Samsung devices, but also IoT devices and sensors developed by external partners into the SmartThings eco-system, allowing a single SmartThings app to control everything. Furthermore, Samsung also plans to integrate AI into all its connected devices by 2020.

In the coming years, many IoT devices with AI support will generate a vast array of usage patterns and scenarios. How AI-enabled devices learn and analyze complex usage patterns and provide consumers with the most optimized options will be critical to the success of AI technology for the near future. In other words, the success of AI will boil down to how well the devices understand the users.

Therefore, Samsung’s perspective on AI is to build an eco-system that is user-centric rather than device-centric. To pursue that goal, we will start by building an AI platform under a common architecture that will not only scale quickly, but also provide the deepest understanding of usage context and behaviors, making AI more relevant and useful.

For the past decades, Samsung successfully introduced products and innovations by researching the lifestyle and behavior of global consumers. Paying respect to our heritage of user-centric product development, Samsung will begin an exciting journey open to boundless possibilities in new user experiences by integrating AI into the open IoT ecosystem it is currently developing. This journey will certainly be fascinating for us here at Samsung, but even more so for consumers, as Samsung takes major steps forward to bring consumers’ hopes and expectations to life.
