JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – 12 June, 2019 – From 11 June, two new and popular Galaxy devices, the Galaxy A70 and A9, will both have instant access to the rapidly growing Samsung Pay mobile payment solution. Samsung Pay is continuing its rise in popularity locally and there are good reasons for it, as this secure and simple digital wallet turns your Samsung Pay supported devices into a bank and loyalty card. The success is being sustained through partnerships with major banking institutions including Absa, Standard Bank, FNB, RMB and Investec.

“Samsung Pay has brought South Africans a new level of convenience and security when making contactless mobile payments. Adding the Galaxy A70 and A9 to the list of supported devices now brings even more people a level of unsurpassed convenience,” says Justin Hume, Director: Integrated Mobility at Samsung South Africa.

The version of Samsung Pay on the A70 and A9 will support NFC only allowing it to be used effortlessly at any contactless payment terminal that supports Tap and Pay. Samsung Pay can be downloaded for free from the Samsung Galaxy Store.

The Galaxy A9 features a quad camera – the first of its kind on a smartphone and boasts cutting edge performance and uber-trendy colours. The Galaxy A70 showcases a stylish design, large infinity display, enhanced triple camera, powerful battery and seamless connectivity. Together, these devices will now include even more unrivalled technology through the introduction of Samsung Pay.

With a bank card loaded on a Samsung smartphone, paying is as simple as swiping upwards on your screen, authenticate via PIN orfingerprint and holding your phone by the Tap and Pay symbol on the payment terminal. Additionally, Samsung Pay’s security exceeds other mobile payment methods. Through tokenisation from Visa and MasterCard the physical card information is never used during the payment process but instead a unique cryptographic sequence and token is used for the transaction, where the cryptographic sequence changes with every transaction made.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, 21 January 2019 – Taking that perfect sunset panorama of a pristine white sand beach after a day of exploring your latest vacation

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, 21 January 2019 – Taking that perfect sunset panorama of a pristine white sand beach after a day of exploring your latest vacation destination just got a little easier. Samsung’s new rear quad-camera Galaxy A9 features a 120° Ultra Wide lens, which captures the whole scene with way less panning.

Whether you’re ready for your close-up or looking at the bigger picture, the Galaxy A9 comes equipped with camera options to help you capture the moment the way you want. While the 120° Ultra Wide lens lets you capture everything your eyes see, the telephoto lens provides 2x Optical Zoom, so you get the perfect composition even when you are far away from your subject.

The phone’s 24MP main lens stays sharp no matter what your lighting conditions. Using a pixel re-mosaic algorithm, it is able to maintain peak performance in low light, producing clear images with less noise. The Depth Camera works with the main camera to give you the ability to manually adjust the depth of field of your images, so you can add beautiful bokeh to accentuate your photos.

Check out the infographic below to learn more about the Galaxy A9’s quad camera system and find out which lens best suits your needs.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, 10 January 2018 – Nowadays, there seems to be a photographer in all of us. Armed with a smartphone we have a camera ready to snap big and small moments in an instant. This is where the Galaxy A9 really shines. The A9 has four ultra-smart rear cameras that can shoot in nearly any situation. Add in intelligent features like Scene Optimizer technology that detects the subject of your photos as well as Flaw Detection that catches blinks or blurs, plus a wide range of stickers, filters, and AR Emoji and you’ve got a camera that opens up a world of possibilities.

“The Galaxy A series, including the A7 and A9, has taken smartphone photography to unprecedented levels. The A7 laid down a benchmark with 3 cameras and then the A9 went that one bigger, wider step further. Backed by greater battery life, performance and intuitive security features, the A series takes smartphone photography to new levels,” says Cambridge Mokanyane, Chief Marketing Officer at Samsung South Africa.

The A9’s four cameras boost your photography game in a big way:

• It goes wider – The 8MP Ultra Wide Camera offers a 120° view that snaps almost as much as your eyes can see. And when you want to snap even more of the scene, the Ultra Wide camera makes panorama super simple.

• It zooms in on details – The phone includes a 10MP Telephoto Camera with 2x optical zoom that shoots beautifully detailed photos even from a distance.

• It makes photos stand out – The 5MP Depth Camera and Main Camera work together to adjust the depth of field, blurring out the background to add a pro-level look to your pictures.

• It shoots clear and bright, day or night – The 24MP Main Camera adapts to low light and bright daylight with ease. It takes crisp shots in a bright environment without getting washed out and in the dark, the camera pulls minimises noise to keep the details sharp.

Storing all your new, amazing images is also made convenient with a 128GB internal memory capacity which can be expanded to 512GB with a microSD card. Additionally, its striking 6.3-inch Infinity Display, stretches from edge to edge, to give you a stunning viewing experience, that lets you see more and do more, whether it’s multitasking or streaming videos. This impressive device is also equipped with a 3,800mAh (typical) battery that powers your streaming, chatting, and gaming longer, so you don’t have to keep an eye on the nearest power cord.

The Galaxy A9 rises to every moment, which is why its amazing features will be on show in Johannesburg and Cape Town at the annual Ultra Musical Festival in March 2019. Samsung’s partnership with Ultra is designed to bring to life the many qualities that make the A9 a picture perfect phone. Expect to see the stylishly glossy Caviar Black or the bold and unique gradient of Lemonade Blue in the hands of the ultra-cool very soon.
