Samsung Electronics has announced that its latest TVs, monitors and commercial display products have been technically evaluated for compliance with the European Union’s Radio Equipment Directive (RED), including updated cybersecurity requirements that take effect on August 1, 2025.

“With the growing emphasis on security in the industry, we are strengthening security features to stay ahead of this evolving trend,” said Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “In addition to this achievement, we are committed to introducing innovations with advanced security and technology globally, thereby reinforcing customer trust in our solutions.”

The EU’s RED, introduced in 2016, establishes essential requirements for the safety, electromagnetic compatibility and efficient spectrum use of radio-equipped products. In 2022, the EU announced expanded cybersecurity rules under the RED to improve protection against network threats, safeguard personal data and reduce the risk of fraud. These new provisions will become mandatory starting August 2025.

The TÜV SÜD assessment covers Samsung’s entire 2024–2025 visual display line-up for the European market, including TVs, monitors, digital signage and Colour E-Paper. Samsung is actively extending this compliance process to all applicable product lines as part of its global regulatory readiness strategy.

In fact, this focus on compliance reflects a broader, ongoing commitment to product security across Samsung’s ecosystem. In 2024, the company’s proprietary cryptographic module,

• Samsung CryptoCore, earned FIPS 140-3 certification from the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).^[1] As of 2025, Samsung CryptoCore has been integrated into Tizen OS,^[2] the operating system powering Samsung Smart TVs, to enhance protection across key product lines including TVs, monitors and digital signage.
• In addition, Samsung Smart TVs are equipped with its Samsung Knox security platform, which has earned Common Criteria (CC) certification every year since 2015 — further underscoring Samsung’s leadership in consumer device security.

Company maintains leadership in overall global gaming monitor market for fifth consecutive year, based on total revenue

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., one of the global leaders in the display industry, has secured the top position in global sales of OLED monitors just one year after launching its first OLED model — the 34″ Odyssey OLED G8 (G85SB model), a gaming monitor.

According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), Samsung Electronics has taken the top position in the global OLED monitor market by capturing 34.7% of market share based on total revenue, and the top position in market share based on sales volume with 28.3% of OLED monitors sold in 2023 ^[1] .

Samsung has also maintained its leadership in the overall global gaming monitor market for the fifth consecutive year, recording a market share of 20.8% in terms of total revenue ^[2] .

Since entering the OLED market, Samsung has continued to innovate and receive praise for new monitors, including the Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SC model), which received widespread acclaim from experts and reviewers worldwide.

At CES 2024, Samsung announced an expansion of its OLED monitor line-up, unveiling three new products:

• The Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD model), with a 32” 4K UHD resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio, 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time ^[3] .
• The Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD model), with a 27” QHD resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio, 360Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time (GtG)

Customisable Height with an Ergonomic Stand

Productivity can directly be linked to the environment one works in. This is why the S65UA comes with a Height Adjustable Stand (HAS), which lets you quickly and easily adjust the height of the monitor by up to 120.00mm (±5.0mm). Simply hold the connecting part of the stand at the back of the monitor and move the monitor up and down to easily and smoothly adjust the height of your screen.

When using the monitor at its highest possible height, you’ll notice that you have extra desk space beneath it to utilise or decorate according to your preference, whether you’re looking for a space to store those extra files or to place some small plants and other flora.

The S65UA also comes with a swivel feature that lets you rotate the monitor to each side by up to 30.0˚(±2.0˚) to further enhance your work productivity. This feature also helps you utilise the space you have more effectively. When adjusting the monitor angle, it’s a good idea to gently hold the bezel rather than the display to gently adjust the monitor.

By pressing the control panel button, located on the back of the logo below the middle part of the monitor, you can choose the best aspect ratio from various options whenever you want. Also, Picture By Picture(PBP) shows two input sources on the same screen side by side along with the Picture In Picture (PIP) feature which enables you to open up a small pop-up window within your screen.

Unlike when you have to use multiple monitors to complete a task, there is no need for you to deal with height or colour differences across screens, and you can enjoy the near gapless continuity of the monitor’s virtually borderless design for uninterrupted and seamless working experiences.

New to the 2021 monitor line-up, Adaptive Picture eye care technology automatically adjusts the brightness and colour temperature of your screen to one of 42 levels when the environment you are in changes – for example, when your surroundings become darker after working in a bright environment, the monitor adjusts its settings in response to the room conditions. If you’d like to reduce blue light emissions which cause eye strain, you can turn on the special Eye Saver mode by pressing the control panel button.
